Why are the reviews so bad on this Blaze Built in Propane Grill?
Hi there, I'm at the very start of an outdoor kitchen build & trying to decide what built in grill I want to invest in. I've never had an outdoor kitchen before. We are in the process of building a covered area that will be enclosed so the grill will not be exposed to the elements. I live in SW FL & located about 1 mile inland from the coast. I'm a serious 'indoor cook' & have worked in the past in the food industry so I know my way around a regular indoor set up. I don't want to make a costly mistake hence why I am reaching out to the online community here. I've been looking at grills on the BBQ Guys website & researching comments on here to try & get a steer on best grill to invest in. I was looking at the Blaze Professional LUX 44-in 4-Burner Built-In Propane Grill w/ Rotisserie- BLZ-4PRO-LP on this website & was rather taken aback about how bad this grill seems to be according to some users. Is it really that bad or as someone who's never really cooked outdoors before, would I not find the same issues as I learn how to cook on this grill? I'd really appreciate some advice & any comments the community can share with me. Thank you all for your time! submitted by /u/Top-Tomato-7690 to r/OutdoorKitchens [link] [comments]

Roommate took the knobs/grill out of the barbecue
I live with 6 people! I have lived in this house for 3 years with roommates that come and go. This grill has been here since I moved in and is considered a communal grill. There’s one roommate, B, that uses the grill fairly often and initially cleaned it last year when it was pretty gross. I have never used it but decided to use it to make chicken with one of my other roommates a few days ago. We bought our own propane, (94$ worth) and I let B know that we were moving his propane so we could use the bbq (that we weren’t using his propane pretty much) he messaged back normally and we made some delicious jerk chicken. Today I come home to find out from a completely uninvolved roommate that B was so upset that we used the grill, that he took all the knobs off and the actual grill part and took it to his GFs place. He apparently thinks that because he cleaned the grill once last year, that he now owns it or something? The grill was pretty dirty before we used it, like we had to scrape stuff off, so it wasn’t that we made it super gross or anything. I’m unsure why he’s so angry that we used the grill tbh. Overall pretty pissed off considering he didn’t talk to me about it and ITS NOT HIS GRILL. I also bought a bunch of propane that I’m now unable to use, which is great. submitted by /u/def_not_mrbrightside to r/badroommates [link] [comments]

Propane BBQ Grill stand
I have an awesome propane BBQ grill that the bottom where the propane sits has rusted out causing the doors to no longer work. I would hate to have to get rid of the grill, and a replacement bottom is $50+. I would honestly rather build a new stand for it out of wood. Just wondering if anyone has done this, and if so, what did they do. I assume i would need some type of plating to go over the wood where the grill sits? Appreciate any and all ideas and help! submitted by /u/bmazz213 to r/DIY [link] [comments]

How often do you replace your BBQ grill?
I seem to only get 4-5 years from a propane grill until the flare ups are near constant. Thorough cleaning, with grill cleaner, and taking everything apart for the cleaning does help. But after a few years the flare ups happen frequently regardless of me cleaning. It seems the only way to fix the problem at that point is to buy a new grill. My last couple grills have been in the ~$1,000 price tier from Weber. submitted by /u/wordtothewiser to r/AskMenOver30 [link] [comments]

LPT: Use sliced white bread to find the hotter and cooler spots on your grill/BBQ.
This will work on gas, propane, pellet or really any grill. Just lay white bread slices across the grate(s) while the grill is on and check after a few minutes. The bread will toast darker in certain spots and you’ll know where to put the burgers you won’t more well done. Not allowed to post pics here but there’s one in my post history if you want a visual. submitted by /u/BodhiZaffa to r/LifeProTips [link] [comments]

How to clean public propane grills with allergies?
Hello! Me and my husband just moved into some apartments that have public (to the residents) propane grills but we both have food allergies. Me, tomato (so definitely no ketchup or bbq sauce) and him lamb. What can I do to make it safe for us to cook on them? We’re young and we don’t have much, if any, grilling experience so common sense isn’t common to us. Tia! submitted by /u/Medical_Mess_05 to r/grilling [link] [comments]

[CA] [TH] BBQ grills and insurance
So I recently bought a condo in San Diego. In the process of buying a grill for our condo I saw that the rules only allowed propane or electric. I decided I instead wanted a pellet grill and thought I would inquire about it to see if it would be allowed by our insurance (I emailed the board and property manager and they reached out to the insurance agent). That has opened up a can of worms with the insurance agent saying that no grills are actually allowed within 10ft of the building. So for some more background the condo is more of an apartment style consisting of a row of townhomes with another stack of townhomes above. My unit is ground level with a patio. The patio is concrete and our building is stucco (which is all non combustible building material). Per the CA fire regulations I believe a grill should be allowed but obviously trying to convince an insurance agent of that is probably a big uphill battle. There are probably a few other arguments to try and make like it is a patio and not a balcony. So now I may have ruined it for other home owners who had grills as they may have to get rid of them. I feel like I really screwed up here. But on the flip side I guess it is on our board for not knowing that our insurance no longer allows them so maybe I am saving us a major problem in case of a grill fire. Any other California HOAs have delt with something similar? Any insurance companies that allow grills? submitted by /u/dagunz999 to r/HOA [link] [comments]

Guest refusing to leave
Update at bottom of post! What do you all do when you’ve tried to remove a guest from your property and they refuse? We have a property in the Southern California mountains in a high risk fire area. Last night we saw our guests using a charcoal grill and smoking on our back patio in violation of our house rules. We are hyper sensitive to the fire dangers of the mountain and provide a propane fire pit and bbq for guests to use. We messaged the guest to extinguish the open flames and they read the message and did not respond. My husband arrived an hour later with the cops, but the cops said they are unable to remove them and the guests refused to leave. We have extensive concerns about these guests continuing their stay. They told my husband they brought fireworks and the guest became very aggressive with my husband - even in front of the cops. Thankfully the cops told them in no uncertain terms that they are not allowed to set off fireworks. Contacting Airbnb was pointless as I’m still waiting for our “Safety Support Ambassador” to respond to our escalated case 11 hours later. UPDATE: the guest checked out today. Other than the entire flooring of the 2 story home being covered with what looked like an entire box of crushed up saltine crackers, a sticky substance tracked throughout the house and a missing pillow case, all is well at the property. My escalation support rep finally reached out to me this morning, 2 days after the incident, and the day of checkout. So that was super helpful… 5 years as a SuperHost and I can’t believe the horrible service offered by Airbnb. We are going to continue to rent out our property as it helps cover our super expensive fire insurance, but will definitely be extra diligent screening guests. Hopefully, this was just a one off bad experience amongst 5 years of great guests. And, yes, we will review the guest accordingly to save future hosts from a bad rental. Thank you to everyone for your advice, albeit 95% of it was illegal. 😂 submitted by /u/meh_user_name to r/airbnb_hosts [link] [comments]
