What is your makeup routine
I’m going back to work in April and I’m not sure if it’s stress or hormones but I’m breaking out like a teenager. I use natural exfoliating soap and then beef tallow as moisturizer, nyx glue primer, L’Oréal glow lotion & tinted serum, Quo contour stick, elf brow stick and brow gel. But I feel like I need to make it better, please help a girl out.

Barista hands and beef tallow
Has anyone who has experienced barista hands (the horrifying rough cracked painful peeling tender skin from hours of touching coffee grinds and endless hand washing) used beef tallow to moisturize? If so, did it work? I’m trying it for the first time since nothing else works, but so far (though it is early days) my hands feel possibly worse, and certainly no better. submitted by /u/OkayestBarista90 to r/barista [link] [comments]

Guidance: Beef tallow for eczema
I’m looking for a bit of guidance on using beef tallow for my baby’s eczema (on her face). Currently we are using Cetaphil moisturizer (which is quite thick) and then Aquaphor on top to seal in the moisture. We’ve also started using Eucrisa, but I don’t have a lot of faith in it… Could you recommend brands or how to look for the right product? Is it the same beef tallow that is used for cooking? Would this replace the moisturizer and the Aquaphor, or only the Aquaphor? In other words, does this product moisturize or does it only seal in moisture? Have you used it on your babies’ faces? My daughter is 12 months old. EDIT: I know about the allergies risk, but from my research, this happens when you apply it on raw skin… I’d like to use it more for maintenance Thank you in advance! submitted by /u/NewMom1289 to r/moderatelygranolamoms [link] [comments]

Beef Tallow- moisturizer or occlusive??
Hi! Sorry if this is a dumb question but I’m confused about this 🙃 I always put damp water on my face, use my moisturizer, then castor oil on top to lock it in. My skin is very dry. Beef tallow is so thick and I’m wondering if all of these brands that are now selling beef tallow as a moisturizer are marketing it as such because everyone knows what moisturizer is, or if it’s supposed to be put on TOP of a moisturizer as an occlusive. My friend let me try some of tallow and it’s so rich and creamy (which I love) but I’m curious if it actually penetrates the skin barrier and does anything? Like, if I JUST put castor oil on my face with no moisturizer or water, it would just sit on top because it’s not designed to go deeper. Is this the same with beef tallow? Is there a brand that has a tallow moisturizer AND occlusive? Thanks in advance! 🙂 submitted by /u/kaysuhdeeyuh to r/nontoxic [link] [comments]

Is Tallow Just Beef Fat on Your Face?
Short answer: no. Long answer: kind of, but not in the way you’re imagining. When people hear “tallow,” they picture greasy steak drippings. That’s not what skincare tallow is. High-quality tallow is made from suet (the hard fat around the kidneys), slowly rendered at controlled temperatures, then filtered. What you’re left with is a clean, stable fat that’s solid at room temp and melts on contact with skin. It doesn’t smell like meat. Properly rendered tallow has more of a neutral, slightly buttery scent. If it smells like a burger, it was processed poorly. The reason people use it isn’t because it’s trendy or “primitive.” It’s because its fatty acid profile is structurally similar to the lipids already found in human skin: saturated fats, monounsaturated fats, cholesterol components. In other words, it behaves like a skin lipid, not like a water-based lotion full of emulsifiers and fillers. Is it for everyone? No. If you hate richer textures, you may not love it. But calling it “beef grease” misses the point entirely. It’s not about putting food on your face. It’s about using stable, compatible lipids instead of complex (often synthetic) formulations that can disrupt the barrier in the first place. submitted by /u/Fit_Psychology_1536 to r/TallowSkincare [link] [comments]

Better smelling options than beef tallow for daytime moisture?
Not a nutrition question but AB related. Luckily I work from home and live alone so I have the luxury of lathering myself with beef tallow most days. But when I want to go out and socialize, is there a better smelling alternative? Is pure shea butter ok as a moisturizer? I only hear beef tallow talked about as a great natural moisturizer and it is but let’s be honest it’s not the best thing to smell like during the day submitted by /u/Klutzy-Juggernaut812 to r/AnimalBased [link] [comments]

Beef tallow creme for chronically dry skin, has anyone actually had success with it?
I'm 44 and struggling with dehydrated skin that won't stay moisturized no matter what I use. Hyaluronic acid, ceramides, oils, nothing works for more than a few hours. Recently came across beef tallow cream, and the science sounds interesting (fatty acids similar to human sebum), but I'm skeptical it's just another overhyped trend. For those who've tried it: did you see real long-term improvement in moisture retention, or just temporary relief? Honest experiences welcome. submitted by /u/dzhuliyaetkinson3 to r/40PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

Whipped beef tallow for post shave moisture!
I figure most of my favorite soaps are tallow based, why not try a tallow moisturizer for my post shave routine? This stuff is thick, but also whipped and airy. It goes on light enough and really gives a substantial smooth post shave feel. Just a tiny bit does it. I usually use an aftershave splash and then follow up with this. My face feels naked after a shave without it now. Amazon W! submitted by /u/dunerider182 to r/wicked_edge [link] [comments]

I got suckered into trying beef tallow
was going to post this on a throw away account, but fuck it. story needs to be told. I got suckered by TikToks into trying beef tallow, got convinced it's the "ancient skincare secret" i needed. So I bought this "premium grass-fed beef tallow balm" for like $45 (already red flag #1) from some Instagram brand. Started using it every night, thinking I was being all natural and smart. For the first few days, my skin felt super moisturized, almost too moisturized tbh. But I thought that was good? By day 5, I woke up with a full on breakout. Acne, cystic kind EVERYWHERE. we're talking painful bumps even my neck. I've never had acne this bad, not even during puberty. Turns out beef tallow is comedogenic as hell for most people (duh, it's literally animal fat), and all those "success stories" were probably from people with completely different skin types or straight-up fake reviews. Lesson learned: if it sounds too good to be true and influencers are pushing it hard, it probably is. Stick to the boring, proven stuff. Don't be like me and fall for the "natural = better" trap when you're stressed and not thinking clearly. submitted by /u/pxrage to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

Beef Tallow Balm Skincare (safety info)
PSA: I used to own a business making skin care and soap. I learned about safe manufacture of some skincare products and I’m aware of the FDA guidelines. There are some beef tallow skincare products coming out of China, which are deceptive and possible safety hazards in Vine. I just want to share this information. Scientifically speaking, an anhydrous product is one made without water. For example, a balm, salve, or a lotion bar has no water in it but they all have oils and/or fat. To change them from liquid and to make them able to be more solid they add a wax such as beeswax or jojoba oil, (which is actually a wax). These real balms are solid or very thick at room temperature. They will melt on your skin as your skin temperature heats it up. Bacteria, mold and mildew do not grow in anhydrous products. Those things that we don’t want in our skincare need water to live and multiply. Beef tallow is the fat from a cow and lard is the fat from a pig. Other products made with water and/or an oil and/or a fat are a prime environment to grow bacteria, which may get introduced from your hand or fingers as you dip into the jar. They can also grow mold or mildew. Those products that have water plus oils/fats need a preservative to prevent the growth. Lotion and cream have water in them as a main ingredient. We don’t want to be using lotions or creams that are filled with bacteria or mold or mildew. Some other things that this applies to are sugar scrubs, and scrubbing cream soaps sold in a jar. There’s a trend for beef tallow balm for the face as a natural moisturizer. Sometimes they advertise it also for your body use. It has gone viral on TikTok. Men are using it and printing take balms too. I have used some brands that I like. I’m all for balms. The issue is that now vine has some products (made in China are the ones I have received) that actually are technically speaking, a lotion or skin cream, because they are made with water plus the oils and the beef tallow, but there is no preservative. These are unsafe to use. They are not a balm. One that I got this week shows on the product page that it only contained beef tallow, some oils and beeswax. It said it was all natural. When I received it, the ingredients list on the jar side and on the box say the primary ingredient is mineral oil, which is a petroleum product (not natural and is lab made), it has the beef tallow and olive oil, and beeswax, but it also has multiple lab made ingredients which are meant to emulsify liquids and oils to create a smooth lotion. It also had water as a main ingredient and was very much like a light skin cream in its consistency. It has no preservative, which means it is a prime environment for growing bacteria, mold, or mildew. We’ll see if they publish my review. I just wanted to teach everybody this in case you are using beef tallow skincare products and I wanted to explain why you should be concerned if you order a BALM but it is actually a lotion because it has water, but yet it doesn’t have a preservative, which makes it unsafe. Sidebar: shower gels are not technically speaking a soap; they’re made with water and they need a preservative. The traditional way of making a bar of soap is called cold process soap, and although that has water in it, the water has converted through a chemical process with the lye (sodium hydroxide) and the oils/fats into a new thing called soap. There is no free water in a bar of real soap. That is why a bar of actual soap cannot grow bacteria or mold or mildew on it. That is why a real bar of soap lasts years or decades without expiring or going bad. submitted by /u/artisanmaker to r/AmazonVine [link] [comments]

Sea Witch fries are absolutely amazing - Beef Tallow
I went this weekend. Absolutely amazing. The fish batter was not dry (I barely used my tartar sauce) and was perfectly moisture level. I came for the fries and I wasn't disappointed. Thick Skin-On fries cooked in beef tallow is something everyone needs to try before they die. A light salting and they are absolutely perfect. I was eating all day! At first I was like "Oh these are better than 5 guys" and then when I got home and cleared my palette the slight taste of burger is there like you dipped them in burger fat. When I ate them again a couple hours later it was just a delight lighting up parts of my brain that were like "yes more of this please". You gotta try this. submitted by /u/bigorangemachine to r/FoodToronto [link] [comments]

[PSA] DO NOT USE BEEF TALLOW
EDIT- THE CULPRIT WAS PROBABLY FRANKINCENSE. USE TALLOW AT YOUR OWN RISK FROM A REPUTABLE BRAND! i fell for it. i fell for the tiktoks and tried it. i had a good routine, my skin was going very well then i tried beef tallow and it has WRECKED my skin. completely dehydrated it and i have no idea how or why. i used it for almost a month probably 3 ish weeks and my skin is now EXTREMELY dehydrated but producing so much oil to try and compensate. so im extremely shiny and dry all the freaking time. the fine lines are showing when i never even had them before hand and my skin feels literally tight and irritated. i’m trying everything to fix it i even tried mixing my moisturizer with castor oil but i feel like it only gets worse. if it works for you, you’re lucky! i wish it would work for me so bad but now im having to fix this awful issue. any help on how to cure dehydrated skin would be appreciated. right now my routine is ponds cleansing balm, vanicream gentle cleanser, cocokind barrier serum, natrium peptide moisturizer and avene cicaflate+ on top to seal it all in. in the morning no cleanse, serum moisturizer and black girl kids spf 50. edit: my beef tallow was grass fed and had olive oil and frankincense oil in it. edit 2: when i was using it, my routine was oil cleanser, vanicream gentle cleanser, sprits lrp toleraine water, ceravae night cream, beef tallow. i knew to use it as an occlusive and it still disrupted my barrier intensely. submitted by /u/ohanaa03 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[product request] is beef tallow a scam?
I recently saw some TikToks about how most moisturizers are hormone disruptors. I double checked my moisturizers on ewg and was disappointed at the ratings I saw. So naturally I’m concerned and have actively been looking for replacements. Lately, my TikTok FYP has been feeding me videos about beef tallow. I’m always skeptical when something is being pushed this hard on my algorithm. But I have to admit that I’m curious. Does anyone here have experience using tallow? I have oily skin, will it make me breakout? What should I know before I make my purchase? And if you use it, how do you incorporate it in your routine? (I’ve heard it could replace a cleanser but I’m highly skeptical about that) submitted by /u/TollyOh to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[misc] Beef tallow cured my face. What???
My skin has always been the worst of both worlds. It's it both acne prone and extremely dry. Horrible blackheads that I have wrecked my nose over squeezing. I've tried every single product. Acne products seemed to always make it even worse. I fell for the coconut oil craze years ago and broke out horribly. So when tallow started making it's way as a trend I couldn't help but roll my eyes and chalk it up to just another stupid bandwagon. Yet, my inner skincare junkie couldn't help herself because she was desperate for a solution. I tried the beef tallow. It seemed disgusting at first, the thought of slathering dead animal on myself. I was always someone who thought plant based everything was better. But I no longer care. I need to share my experience with this now. I have been using tallow on my face for the past week and for the first time in almost 20 years (I'm 34) I am going to bed without picking my pores. BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING TO PICK AT!!!! I have no blackheads to squeeze. My complexion is smooth and glowing and people at work are complimenting my face. I also have zero flakiness. Something I've just kind of accepted since starting tret 7 years ago. My makeup goes on flawlessly over the tallow. It works even better than my expensive primer, which I'm throwing away. My entire face just looks softer. I am so happy. I wish I discovered this sooner. From what I'm getting is the science behind it says something like products from mammals work really well with our mammal skin. It matches the composition of our own sebum in a way that can actually balance out your natural oils. In my case, that means no more blackheads!! I did experience some "purging" on day 2. My blackheads were three dimensionally sticking out of my skin by the end of the day. I almost abandoned ship here. But for some reason I persevered. And am I glad I did. I just got home from a long day at work and saw myself in the mirror. I look amazing. My face looks fresh, and I leaned close to the mirror and I swear my pores are smaller. I will be using tallow the rest of my life from here on. I find it works best when I layer it over a little bit of moisturizing serum. Everyone's skin is different, but if you suffer from dry skin with clogged pores, this might work really well for you! submitted by /u/Emalina1221 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

[Review] I tried Beef Tallow on my skin for two weeks. Here’s what happened.
As you may know, Beef Tallow has been a recent trend within Skincare. Tallow has been historically used for skin. It can treat ezcema, irritation, psoriasis, etc. The specific tallow that I used was VanMan’s Honey and Tallow Balm. Ingredients include: 100% Grassfed Beef Tallow, Honey, Beeswax, Olive Oil, and an Essential Oil blend. I am post-accutane, and recently have been suffering from minor breakouts. I’ve been using PanOxyl to control it, but I wanted to minimize my routine as much as possible. I read about Beef Tallow, and how it’s probably the most organic skincare out there. Tallow contains similar things to the makeup of our skin, such as fatty acids and certain vitamins. Many testimonies and reviews have stated that Tallow replaced their entire skincare routine. Despite being post-accutane, I still have oily skin. On day one when I first put Tallow on my face, the first effect that I noticed was that it immediately softened my skin. It felt really good and absorbed really well. Another crazy thing is that it actually stopped my oily skin. I’ve never had a moisturizer that did that before. I felt that the testimonies were true. My skin also felt hydrated throughout the day. First week in, my pores began getting clogged but I had little to no inflammation. I read online and people say this was an “adjustment” phase or a purge. Further testimonies state that it subsides after another week, so I decided to stay with it. Another week in, more pores kept getting clogged and more closed comedones were appearing. I decided to stop it, and was overall disappointed. However, despite being comedogenic, VanMan’s Tallow did provide some amazing benefits. Pros: •Controls Oily skin •Softens skin •Good hydration ⭐️Magic Inflammation eraser (like seriously this thing erases inflammation) ⭐️Heals skin MAGICALLY fast (I picked at spot and ruined a patch of my skin. Rubbed some tallow on it and it healed in 6 hours) Cons: •Clogged pores. Causes Non-inflammed comedones. •Smell is a little off-putting. Conclusion: Overall, I’ll probably keep using the Tallow, just for my body/lips and not my face. Also I noticed most of the reviews and testimonies came from older individuals. Tallow most likely works really well for mature skin, and not for young skin. I’m only 19 years old, and it didn’t work for me as much as I wanted it to. Back to Differin and Chemical Science Based Skincare! TLDR: I tried Beef Tallow skincare for two weeks. Clogged my pores but it had its benefits. Works well for body, not face. Most people who say it worked are older people with mature skin, and it didn’t work for me as a young individual. submitted by /u/Adventurous_Bar6495 to r/SkincareAddiction [link] [comments]

Beef tallow clogged my pores
I was really pro beef tallow and I started using it a year ago. In the past month or so I have insane white heads all in my cheeks and chin. Nothing about my routine or diet has changed but my dermatologist thinks it’s the beef tallow, even if I’ve been using it a while. Using it in winter vs summer might have something to do with it as well. Anyone else experience this? I’m bummed because I love tallow but now I need a new moisturizer for someone who clearly gets clogged pores very easily submitted by /u/NefariousnessWild488 to r/NaturalBeauty [link] [comments]

I tried beef tallow as a moisturizer
I’ve been seeing a lot of positive/negative reviews regarding beef tallow being used on your face/skin etc, so I decided to try it out myself to see how things go. I suffer from dry skin especially from using tretinoin so I decided to use beef tallow and it’s been working wonders (I do not use tretinoin and tallow at the same time)! I no longer have dry, flaky, peeling skin and it’s been keeping me moisturized throughout the day. The tallow may not work for everyone I am simply sharing my experience. It may sound strange to rub beef fat on your face but I’ve been seeing positive results. It is not heavy, sticky, or greasy feeling. Your skin may look “greasy/glowy/shiny” after but it does not bother me, if that is not your thing then tallow may not be for you. There may also be a slight smell depending on where you purchase your tallow or how it was made. The smell does not bother me but if you have a sensitive nose you might think otherwise. I would love to hear about anyones experience with using tallow whether its good or bad. submitted by /u/igobysim to r/SkincareAddicts [link] [comments]

[Personal] I impulse bought a beef tallow moisturizer and now I am glowing like never before
I have closed comedones all over my face. They're hard to see but I can feel them under my skin and they're very painful sometimes. They come to a head occasionally and cause a lot of pain in my face. I've been using beef tallow for a few days now and my skin had never felt more smooth and painless. My acne is vanishing, my skin doesn't peel from dryness anymore, and painful inflammation on my face vanished overnight. I'm literally glowing. I can't believe I found something that worked after trying every prescription cream and pill I could get my hands on. I'm not trying to push a trend here, but I've been to doctors who have prescribed me tons of different prescription creams for my acne, but they never worked. My self esteem was in the hole but I'M LITERALLY GLOWING NOW. I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!!! :D And before anyone asks, my face does not smell like beef. The tallow itself is orderless and a mint scent was added to my bottle. .. ➡️➡️➡️➡️ https://lesuif.com/ .. The link above is what I use, but many people in the comments have posted other amazing brands too! Edit: please please please read the post and stop commenting/DMing me asking what brand I use 😅 It's all over the comments and in the post.
