Bissell Carpet Cleaner Rental

Training a puppy was hard. These stains drove me insane and are combination of mud/dirt, urine and improperly used enzyme cleaner. My usual annual carpet and upholstery deep clean wouldn’t cut it anymore. Photos are from my most recent rental where after returning it, I immediately bought one because I couldn’t let it get this bad. I now spot treat as necessary and do a monthly clean with a Bissell Little Green. I do miss and prefer the results of the industrial Karcher (pictured) that I would rent though. My dog pooped on my daughter’s floor two weeks ago. It was pretty solid still, so I picked it up and then used our usual pet cleaner (pictured) on the carpet to make sure no stain or smell would linger. Ever since then, my daughter’s room has the smell of chemical/wet dog/weird plastic (?) that will NOT GO AWAY. It’s not super strong but I can smell it easily and it’s really only noticeable when the door to the room is closed- when it’s open you can’t smell it at all. In hindsight I should not have used the pet carpet cleaner bc there was no urine but I’ve used this before with no smell issues in many other spots so I didn’t even think it would cause a problem but clearly I used too much or something (and I was mildly raging bc the dog pooped on the floor at a bad time). I have aired it out as much as I can for 2 weeks. I have tried laying down baking soda (only once so far and just overnight so trying that again now), I have cleaned the carpet with a cleaning machine with just water but also once with dawn soap as well. At this point I’m losing my mind with what else I can do??? I don’t think I sprayed so much that it got to the padding/subfloor but I guess it could have. We are in a rental too and my landlord is aware but they are also at a loss for what to do. I worry about my kiddo sleeping in a room that has this smell- maybe it’s totally safe… but maybe does anyone have an idea of anything else I can try??? Hi. I am planning to buy a vacuum cleaner with HEPA filtration for my 1100 sq ft apartment. I have a dust allergy (not severe, but it is there). I do not have any pets, but my spouse has hairfall issues. My current one is a Bissell PowerForce Helix ($60) from Walmart. I have been using it for 2+ years, and it started making a loud noise when on, and the dust spreads everywhere when vacuuming. Here are some I have shortlisted some bagged and bagless vacs after reading the Amazon reviews and similar posts from this sub. I am not sure how much I need the bagged vacs. But the consensus is that they last longer, which is something I would like. I would prefer a vac that does both carpet and hard floor since I am not sure if I would change my current rental apartment. Kenmore Intuition B4050 ($189): Was originally considering it, but the hose down below connecting the vacuum and upper part seems to break within 6 months to 1 year (multiple reviews). Serious issue. Shark Navigator LiftAway ($179): Bagless, but seems to have good reviews. Kenmore 600 ($279): Quite out of my budget, but it seems to be good. However, saw some reviews about the bag exploding and poor build quality. All the Kenmore vacs have reviews with build concerns (bag exploding, hose breaking, break into two etc.) Kenmore Floor Care Elite ($269): Out of my budget, but also seems to be good. Kinda considering it since the intuitions have a weak hose problem. Please do not suggest Miele or Sebo. The carpet cleaner rentals at like Home Depot, are they worth it ? Do they actually clean the carpets well? I am trying to deep clean my grandpas rental house to get his deposit back. Unfortunately due to his age he had trouble making it to the bathroom so the carpet in his room has some urine odor I want to remove if at all possible. I've been a cashier at Lowe's for over a month now, but I'm still a little unclear on the whole process for dealing with rentals for the Bissell carpet cleaners. I know you get out the book thingy with the paperwork in it; I just need to know which parts the cashier and the customer are supposed to sign and what I need to let the customer know about the rental. Then I need to know what to do when the customer comes back with the cleaner. I think you also send the customer over to customer service at some point to complete the process, but I forget when... I live in a rental property where the area we live in (second floor) is all carpet flooring, whilst the kitchen and living isn't(first floor). A roommate and I have dust-mite allergies so we're looking for a way to consistently clean dust off the carpet. I live in a rental appartment that has carpet floors, which were put there by the previous tennats (with which I can't get in touch anymore). I am pretty sure that there's some kind of wooden flooring under the carpet, by I don't know what kind (just can feel that some boards tilt a bit when I step in certain spots). I am considering getting a carpet cleaner (e. g. Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution or something similiar), in particular to clean up after the pets and to generally clean the carpets, but I am concerned if it might damage the wooden flooring underneath. From what I understand, there usually would be a layer of waterproof padding between the carpet and the floor, but I am not entirely sure if that is the case here. Is there a way to check this without tearing off the carpeting? If there's no padding, what would be the worst case when using a carpet cleaner device on a carpet over a wooden floor? I was thinking about buying a carpet cleaner ($300 on sale, from $600CAD) but I saw the other post saying that the home cleaners don't accomplish results anywhere near that of a professional service. I'm in a rental, and there's a funky smell of late....probably in part due to our cats, inherited furniture, and just life (perhaps my love of cooking with many spices has played a role). Hi all, That time of year to clean the carpets, last time we used a Hoover power scrub elite I borrowed and came out good, prior to that it was professional. Happy with both results but pros have increased their prices greatly and it’s 4 bedrooms and hallway. I have a Home Depot with the rug doctor or Lowe’s with bissell big green rentals close but how clean do they actually get those? I’d hate to bring other “funk” in our home. Just moved into a new rental and looking for some advice! My original plan was to purchase a bissell crosswave due to very positive reviews from a few friends and relatives. The home has mostly wood floors and tile in the bathroom and kitchen so it seemed ideal. However, my bedroom and the finished basement that will be used as a playroom for my toddler and infant has an old, thick, hard to get clean, kinda grimey carpet. I already have brooms and mops and floor cleaners, but no product to clean the carpets. The stairs to the basement have the same carpet. I’m renting a small bachelor unit in a basement. Upon moving in I noticed a pretty strong smell in the room. The smell doesn’t seem to have an obvious source, but I’m pretty certain the carpet is the main culprit, since the areas with tiled floor (e.g. bathroom) don’t seem to smell at all. I’ve already tried a few things to get rid of the odour. I rented a carpet cleaner machine, which improved the cleanliness of the carpet by quite a lot, but that didn’t get rid of the smell. I tried vinegar, but that wasn’t very effective. I bought some carpet stain/odour removal spray (Bissell Professional Oxy Total) and that seemed to be working at first, but alas the smell came back. (It was also hard to cover a large area with a product that seems to have been designed for small spots.) I’m at my wits’ end here. I just want to live someplace that doesn’t reek. Any suggestions for products/methods that might actually work would be GREATLY appreciated. I already have a dehumidifier, so hopefully I can cut down on additional moisture-related issues. I don’t own a vehicle (or a vacuum, but I suppose I could change that if absolutely necessary), so my ideal solution is one that would involve things I can feasibly carry home myself. Doesn’t need to be a permanent fix — it’s only a five-month lease. If you’ve made it through my huge block of text, god bless you. In case you can’t tell, I’m desperate here. I own a Bissell Big Green Machine. These are the rental kind but I bought one for my house and use it ever 3 months. It works pretty well but after spending 2 hours going back and forth on my living room carpet the waste water is still dark grey/brown, I'm pretty sure I can go at it another 4 hours and the waste water will still be brown. We have carpet in our living room near the entry ways and we dont take our shoes off so its always dirty. Granted this cleaner is a good one but I'm looking for something more powerful and will get the dirt better if such machine exists.
