ULPT Request: fight against Bluetooth speakers on a public beach
So, I'm from a sunny country with lots of beaches. It is supposed to be a "civilized" country, and so we have laws against blasting music at the (public) beaches. Unfortunately, the law is poorly enforced due to a super lean public hiring policy. As such, I humbly come to this sub to gather the most important information on unethical, fun and menacing ways to mess with these people. I understand calling the cops is the obvious choice, but it'll likely take at least 30 to 60 minutes to arrive. Lifeguards is also a no-go. These are mostly teens being paid to watch the water. I am also interested in causing a little mayhem while I'm at it. Think "remote control of speaker and blasting 'I'm a poor excuse of a human turn for blasting this speaker'". Keep up the good work 💪 submitted by /u/tiagoduke to r/UnethicalLifeProTips [link] [comments]

What’s the best Bluetooth speaker people actually recommend these days?
The holiday season is officially here, and if you are planning on buying a Bluetooth speaker, the market currently offers everything from pocket-sized devices to massive systems made specifically to party. Choosing the right one depends entirely on your lifestyle and how you plan to use it Here are the best options if you just want a quick pick without reading the full guide. Based on my experience, these are some Bluetooth Speakers worth considering in 2026: Bose SoundLink Revolve+ II Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Sonos Roam Wireless Bluetooth Speaker JBL Boombox 3 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Ultimate Ears Hyperboom Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Klipsch Detroit Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A1 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker Anker Soundcore Boom 2 Plus 4 Key Factors to Consider When Choosing a Bluetooth speaker in 2026: -figuring out your main use case I've tested speakers small enough to fit in a pocket to speakers that are made to party. Some are designed for portability, while others are perfect for backyard barbecues, birthdays, holiday events, and house parties. A lot of speakers are made for on-the-go use, but some hit that sweet spot between portability, sound, and features. At the same time, others are made specifically for the outdoors, while some work best as a home theater accessory or for personal listening. If you want a speaker that you can keep with you at all times, that's one category. On the other hand, if you're the one usually responsible for bringing people together, that's a completely different type of speaker. -durability and water resistance (ip rating) When it comes to durability, some speakers are made specifically for the outdoors. For example, an IP68 rating is one of the highest dust and water-resistant ratings you'll see on any speaker. Not to mention, it's safe to use in saltwater, so it won't rust over time. More commonly, you'll see IP67 dust and water resistance, which works well for most situations. Some speakers are even splash-proof, which still offers protection but is more limited. In certain cases, if you decide to put it in the water, some are specifically designed to float upright so the music never stops. So, if you spend as much time outdoors as you do indoors, this is something to pay attention to. -features and ecosystem Beyond durability, features also play a big role. Many speakers include multi-point connection, custom EQ, and the ability to link with other compatible speakers. Some even support pairing with soundbars or smart speakers to take your home setup to the next level. You’ll also find features like power bank functionality to charge other devices, built-in speakerphone, and the ability to connect multiple speakers together for a more immersive sound. Depending on your use case, some are great for hosting events thanks to microphone inputs, while others include built-in alarm functions or sound libraries for relaxing. These extra features can make a noticeable difference in everyday use. -sound customization (eq and tuning) Sound quality is just as important. The sound can be extremely detailed, with clean treble and punchy bass. Some speakers have a warm, rich sound, while others are more lively or bass-driven depending on the tuning. Since many are compatible with their apps, you can tweak the EQ to find that perfect sound. In some cases, you can even switch between different sound modes, going from a balanced sound to a more party-friendly sound with the press of a button. Personally, using the custom EQ to adjust the mid-bass and highs can result in a cleaner, more dynamic sound. Features like AI sound optimization can also help keep the sound clean even at high volumes. Whether you need a companion for a boat trip or a powerhouse for a holiday house party, there is a specialized speaker ready to fit your arsenal. Hopefully, these categories provide some great ideas for your next audio upgrade submitted by /u/Ok-Diamond-2424 to r/Bluetooth_Speakers [link] [comments]

Best Bluetooth Speaker to Buy in 2026? (Price, Sound, Battery)
EDIT: After going through all the comments and doing a bit more research I decided to go with the JBL Flip 7. From what I found it seems to hit the sweet spot in terms of performance for the price and it also happens to have a discount rn which made the decision easier. my cheap bathroom speaker finally died this morning while i was showering and started making this demonic buzzing noise. i have a beach trip planned for tomorrow and i absolutely cant be the guy who shows up with zero music so im scrambling right now. ive been looking around online and everyone keeps naming JBL Charge 6, JBL Flip 7 and Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 4. but honestly im kinda leaning towards Bose SoundLink Max jsut because they have it in stock at the target down the street and i recognize the brand from my parents old living room. im upgrading from a rattling 20 dollar gas station speaker and basically just throwing it in a beach tote anyway. i have the cash to drop on the absolute highest tier stuff right now but i refuse to get ripped off by diminishing returns if a regular mid range option sounds the exact same so i really want whatever the true price to performance sweet spot is. im so torn between getting a super lightweight round one that shoots sound everywhere or a much heavier one that actually has deep bass but only points forward. my only huge dealbreaker is noticing a delay where the audio doesnt match peoples mouths when im watching youtube or tiktok videos on my phone. im ready to pull the trigger today so what exact model should i blindly buy so i can stop stressing about this? submitted by /u/Wholesomenessal44 to r/Bluetooth_Speakers [link] [comments]

What’s the BEST Bluetooth Speaker You’ve Ever Owned?
Not looking for review site lists or YouTube hype. I’m curious what Reddit thinks based on real ownership. What’s the best Bluetooth speaker you’ve personally used, and why? I’m talking about something you’ve taken to parties, used in the backyard, brought on trips, or just played around the house for a while. Did it actually sound good at higher volumes? Was the bass strong or muddy? How is the battery holding up over time? If you’ve owned it for a year or more, even better. What do you love about it? What annoys you? Would you buy the same one again today, or switch to something else? Drop the model and your honest take. I’m especially interested in comparisons if you’ve owned more than one. Let’s see what consistently gets recommended here versus what’s just marketing noise. Edit: I went down a rabbit hole comparing speakers and this ranking list was actually pretty helpful https://www.reddit.com/r/WirelessSpeakers/comments/16zs2ol/ranking_all_battery_powered_wireless_speakers/ submitted by /u/funinthesummer2 to r/bluetoothspeaker [link] [comments]

Best Bluetooth Speaker to Buy in 2026? (Price, Sound, Everyday Use)
I have been obsessed with finding the perfect Bluetooth speaker for a while now and after testing a bunch I wanted to share my personal recommendations. The Top-Tier Beast Machines Sonos Move 2 - Wireless Portable Bluetooth Speaker - $470 Pros: Incredible sound quality that fills a room or outdoor space. It integrates perfectly with a home Sonos system via WiFi. Cons: It is very expensive and much heavier than most other portable speakers. Mid-Range All-Rounders JBL Charge 6 - Portable Waterproof & Drop-Proof Speaker - $160 Pros: It's super durable waterproof and has a massive 28-hour battery. You can also use it as a power bank to charge your phone. Cons: The sound is powerful but can be very bass-heavy which not everyone loves. Bose SoundLink Flex Bluetooth Speaker - $105 Pros: Delivers that classic balanced and clear Bose sound. It's very durable waterproof and has a versatile strap for hanging it. Cons: The battery life is good but not on the same level as the JBL or Soundcore. Budget-Friendly Options Soundcore Boom 2 Outdoor Speaker - $85 Pros: An absolute party machine for the price. It gets very loud has a built-in subwoofer and even floats in water. Cons: It's one of the larger and bulkier budget options. Tribit StormBox Micro 2 Wireless Portable Speaker - $60 Pros: Amazing sound and bass for its tiny size. The built-in strap is perfect for attaching to a bike or backpack. Cons: It won't get as loud as the bigger speakers on this list. Soundcore Select 4 Go Bluetooth Shower Speaker - $25 Pros: It's incredibly cheap fully waterproof and perfect for listening to music or podcasts in the shower. Cons: The sound quality is basic and it's not meant to power a party. TL;DR: If you want the best sound quality get the Sonos Move 2. For the best rugged all-rounder get the JBL Charge 6. For the best ultra-portable option get the Tribit StormBox Micro 2. submitted by /u/n4hcallme to r/BudgetAudiophile [link] [comments]

I analyzed 1 year of portable bluetooth speaker recommendations on Reddit (Nov 2024–2025)
I posted a version in March. Some of you have been asking for an updated version so here’s one. This time I’ve also added the brand rankings and broke it down by size/weight to help contextualise the rankings better. This is part of my project to tinker with Reddit data and LLMs. Wanted to create something useful for the community while levelling up my coding chops. The idea is to highlight which portable bluetooth speakers got the most love. To be clear, most love =/= objectively best. But hopefully it’s a useful data point nonetheless, especially for those overwhelmed by the flood of options. Obviously this is a very general list. It gets way more interesting when you slice and dice the data. If you want to dig into the data I have an interactive list on my main project page - google “RedditRecs”. You can explore the data, read the comments, filter by price, subreddits, size/weight, weatherproofness, or filter for comments about sound quality, bass, outdoor use, etc. Disclaimer – the page has some affiliate links. You don’t have to use them, though they help fund the analyses. Methodology in the comments. submitted by /u/heyyyjoo to r/Bluetooth_Speakers [link] [comments]

Why people are okay with mono Bluetooth speakers?
Why people nowadays are absolutely okay with Bluetooth speakers which are mono? I was born in the 80s. I find it very hard to find a decent stereo speaker. submitted by /u/sidtechster to r/audiophile [link] [comments]

I need to know how to destroy a Bluetooth speaker without anyone being able to figure out it was me.
I am at the end of my rope with the person I live with. They blast their depressing music at max volume every single day literally from 10AM to 11 PM without a break. It is so loud I hear it with headphones in. It is so loud I hear it outside. I've asked them to turn it down. I filed noise complaints anonymously. I've been polite. I need to destroy their loud obnoxious fucking speaker today or I swear to God I will be on the news tomorrow. Edit: you aren't entitled to someone's entire life story just because they post on the internet. Also there are like 100 people saying "JuSt TaLk To ThEm" and I'm trying to be nice here but if you tell me to do something that I said I did already.... then I'm going to call into question your ability to read. Edit 2: this is what I'm talking about like how am I the asshole for not putting up with this crap? https://imgur.com/a/8k75emX Update: as of 11:45 the device is disabled. I wanna thank everyone for your suggestions, I loved the diabolical, unhinged shit y'all crazy motherfuckers suggested, shit had me in stitches. I ended up combining a few different suggestions. I disassembled the device and took some of its internal pieces and pitched them off the balcony into the night. I don't live near nature before anyone shits themselves, and I don't think a few electrical parts are any worse for the concrete than the thousands of cigarettes butt's, broken glass shards, other litter, etc out there. The device no longer turns on. It has been reassembled. I had a lot of fun in this thread despite the people who came here just to be mad and the people who tried to literally kill me by trying to convince me to microwave it and the one guy who DMd me telling me to commit suicide. But in all seriousness, stuff like this is literally used in torture. The person I live with is abrasive, hostile, and impossible to reason with. It wasn't just them playing loud music. It was them playing the same 2 hour Playlist on repeat for up to 12 hours every day at a volume so loud that it overpowered my noise-canceling headphones. I tried to ask nicely multiple times, I got into screaming matches over this which I did not escalate, I called in noise complaints with the building and the police, and nothing came of it. I lost sleep. I couldn't play video games or watch movies or listen to music in my own home. I couldn't have company over. I had to stay away from my home even on days I was exhausted from work. When I was home I just kept getting angrier and angrier at the situation. I started to have high blood pressure and I was feeling irritable all the time. I was damaging my own hearing to try and drown it out. I was suffering migraines daily. As much as this thread was kind of a gag, this stuff was seriously damaging and that is not a joke. It's pretty clear most people have no idea and think I'm being dramatic as evidenced by people getting an attitude with me. Google auditory torture I guess if you think I am in the wrong here. I am going to move out soon, not that it is anyone's business. Just looking for places. A bunch of people who i have to assume are children with no knowledge of how the world works kept saying "durr just move" like there isn't a massive housing crisis going on. submitted by /u/SailLegitimate8567 to r/self [link] [comments]

AITA for taking a Bluetooth speaker with me when I camp?
I am 38 year old male who has PTSD from my time in the military. I find silence uncomfortable to terrifying depending on my mental state. My wife bought me a waterproof impact proof Bluetooth speaker for a graduation present but I have recently told that it's rude to use it while I am camping. I typically have it on a book on tape loud enough I can hear it in my camp alone. However recently two older guys said that backpacking in to a camp is to prevent electronic pollution. I told them to hike farther along because this was as far as I usually travel they grumbled but kept going. *update because I wasn't clear enough I am not in a shelter, nor am I in a public campground. I'm in the national forest land often on unmarked trails. The camps are my own or ones that are backpacking only. My therapist calls it sound therapy and recommended it for me for my PTSD. You can only hear it in my area. Also, no earbuds are durable enough to last outside after a snow or a downpour. My speaker works great, but the earbuds are toast. (I've lost a few pairs.) Also, the speaker holds charge in negative temperatures, and the earbuds don't. submitted by /u/WartDad to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

LPT: To block out noise from upstairs neighbors or loud roommates, hook up a Bluetooth speaker with good bass and play a “brown noise” app. The lower bass frequency does a better job of blocking footsteps and deep sounds than typical white noise machines.
