Am I the only one who aims to wear the least memorable, most plain/boring/office-y outfit imaginable for interviews? Literally black/navy trousers, plain blouse, plain jumper/cardigan, loafers/flats. I don't want interviewers to refer to me as the 'quirky' one. Gah.

It can be chilly with the wind on the sundeck, so I would pack a warm hoody or cardigan.    Always pack my thermos cup for hot tea or coffee (works iced aswell) or just water - so much easier walking around    clothing wise it can be pretty hot in June - or rainy and cold - just check the weather and pack the same as you would for a non river European trip

This took almost two months but I’m pretty happy with it. I plan on entering it into my local county fair this year and had to hustle for the deadline. We found a Bob’s Burgers near us and took some pics (and ordered some fries and a shake - pretty solid!). It was pretty windy so my ears kept getting knocked around but they’re more even inside lol. Beside the back, I love the burger pockets and glued some flat back pearls as sesame seeds. My tension was looser because I was afraid the cardigan would be too small otherwise and I carried my yarn over because I don't want a million ends to weave in but now there's a lot of black and orange visible through the design. MHello folks, I’ve just received a few QC photos from Happy of this LP cardigan. Idk if it’s a fantasy pieces or not but I like the style of this. The quality and the cable knit look really well made. Of course I can’t feel the texture yet, but it appears quite thick so I’d expect it to be soft. The labels also look accurate, though they’re barely visible when you’re wearing it anyway. What do you think? Started in June on a cardigan for my wife’s birthday in August. Original plan was to make it completely out of puff flowers which I learned to make for this project. Ordered 18 different color skeins of yarn from Michael’s (love the online sales!) and set up shop. Quickly learned it was going to take a long… long long time with each just puff taking about 12-14 minutes completely so after about 120 in, I looked up how to make granny squares with them (Thank you to Bella Coco for the instructions on the flower and the square construction). Got it done, put it together, and I finally got the cuffs created today. It feels, fits, and looks so much better on me than I thought it would. We may have to have matching cardigans. I lost my sanity in this project. I started the first square in summer 2024 and finished to sew in fall 2025. I worked non stop for weeks than didn't touched it for months. I hate it. I love it. I learned so much (mostly that I never want to do one ever again, I say while eyeing mosaic/tapestry blanket). I found so much support and advices in this community when I ranted over weaving the end. I used ideal 4 yarn from bergère de France with a 3.5mm hook. Sunburst granny square from sarah maker, Fountain Flower granny square from stitching together. Pockets are a mix between the sunburst square and Crochet Sunflower Square Bag from my crafts inspirations. The border of the pockets is crab stitch which was weirding me out but I still like it more than gdi puff stitch. The sleeve were part Quarter Sunflower Pincushion from suvi's crochet, part winging it and crying and frogging and crying. It somehow came out like I pictured it. I would do it differently now. Though not sure how differently. It's a bit shorter than I expected. Neck is a bit too tight. It's a bit itchy. Hello everyone. I had the most unbelievable experience last week Friday. I went a coat shop with my parents last week Friday. It was Youth Day here in SA so it was a public holiday. I saw a lady was eyeing me and she eventually approached me. She asked if it was mine and I said yes and told her that I made it. She asked me if I was selling them and I told her no. It isn't really feasible as people don't want to pay R1700 for a cardigan. I've been told many times it's too expensive and they'd rather buy one for R200 to R400 at the shops. She told me that if people really want it, they would be willing to pay. She walked away and we continued shopping. She came back to me a while later and said that she would buy mine, that I was wearing for R2000. I was shocked and agreed immediately. It was so amazing and it's a lot of money for something I made. She said something to me and it really stuck with me: "Sometimes we are over here," with a hand gesture in the right, "and God wants us to be over there," hand gesture on the left, "so he does things for us to get from here to there." I haven't stopped thinking about it. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of it to show you. But it was a daisy square cardigan with different shades of green around the daisies. It was the garment that made me start crocheting. I'm not sad though. Should I try and make and sell more? Edit: So when I say make and Sell. I mean make what I like and then advertise it. If people want it then they can have it for what I consider reasonable for it, if not then you don't have to buy it. I won't sell myself short and I'll have another item in my closet. Also I have ADHD, so I need to love something to do it. So absolutely no commissions.
