What careers are in demand?
I see a lot of people talking about how terrible the job market is right now and how hard it is to find work. It got me thinking. What careers are actually in demand today? What jobs pay well, don’t require spending 8+ years in school, and are likely to stay in demand for the next 10–20 years? I’m interested in hearing from people who actually work in these fields. What do you do, what does it pay, and how difficult was it to get started? submitted by /u/Euphoric_Lemon_1058 to r/careerguidance [link] [comments]

RIP MY ENTIRE CAREER
Today I found out I have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome after years of working througn physical therapy, pain management, surgeries, etc. This was my final, super specialist assessment. I have been losing feeling in my hands for a few years as a natural progression of chronic overuse. I am a musician/university professor. I haven't been able to play/perform competently for 1.5 years. Despite a surgery in Feb and FMLA to seak treatment and rest away from the single most exacerbating factor, no significant improvement has been made. I recently transitioned to long term disability - a sobering state for a chronic overachiever. Today, a cardiovascular specialist confirmed that I have TOS and they could remove both of my anterior scalene muscles for improvement but not guaranteed or total healing. Also, the loss of the muscles and impact on my dexterity, and a strange risk of diaphragmatic paralysis, make this option functionally untenable. Truly, there is nothing more beyond physical therapy for improving daily living tasks. But my high level professional function really is over because there is no fucking way I am removing muscles from both sides of my neck as a professional musician. Now to navigate a massive professional pivot from a super weird niche specialty into the unknown. I'm thinking smut authoresse. 😉 Bagel and lox, chocolate covered short bread, cappuccino, complimentary mini cupcake, pickle, and healing sun. Tell me a funny joke about unemployed musicians. submitted by /u/TravelingBop to r/GirlDinnerDiaries [link] [comments]

Best careers to dive into 2026?
I'm 23 turning 24, haven't found a career yet what recommendations do you all have. I have explored tech but everything seems oversaturated according to the people in the field. I have also looked into having a career as a marine merchant didn't seem too bad. I'm also not opposed to higher education, I went three times but dropped out bc I couldn't find was right to me. Leading the US for a job doesn't seem bad either FIFO situation. I'm also bilingual(Spanish) if that helps. submitted by /u/Healthy-Eye-6241 to r/careerguidance [link] [comments]
