tldr: these photos are all 100% ai, and i got my $ back. my post to r/isitAI: i met a young artist at a small town crafts fair on Mother's Day (one week ago). she had some cards with prints of fairy paintings, and also some textile pieces with similar prints on them. it was beginning to rain, and nearing 5pm when the fair was supposed to wrap up. i loved what i saw of these art pieces she had sitting out, but didn't want to keep her from packing up her stand. i took her card, which had only an email address and a QR code for Instagram. again, i had only briefly looked at what she had to offer because of the conditions, but i had seen she does "fairy portraits" and was excited to learn more. i emailed her on Tuesday and discussed a custom acrylic painting. she said she's just starting out with selling, and wants to offer the custom on a 18 × 24 inch canvas for $50. $25 now, and $25 once it's completed. i was like ummm yes, of course? and fully planned on sending more than $25 for the second payment! she asked when i needed it finished by, and i asked how long it usually takes, she said 1-3 weeks, and i was like "perfect! please take your time, looking forward to seeing it!" on Wednesday i have lunch with a friend and she asks to see the other art from said artist, so i take out the business card and try to scan the QR code. it doesn't work. then my friend tries, and nothing. i was confused but i didn't think a lot of it since it could be a misprint, and this was a beginner seller? i don't know. now i am thinking about this detail further. it is now Sunday again, 5 days after the custom order discussion, and i get the first photo attached here emailed to me. i felt like something was "off" but honestly i wasn't sure what it was. it was then i realized i hadn't made a plan to pick up this painting, so i asked where to meet her for it. my thought was "i will wait to send the second $25 + tip until i could take a proper look at it in person." she tells me she is "out of town for a wedding" and will let me know when she is back so we can meet up. again, benefit of the doubt; i didn't see the photo until 3 hours after it was sent, so maybe she left between then and when i replied?? but at that point i was seeing too many flags to ignore. so i politely asked for at least 2 progress pictures if she took any, to which she replied with the second and third photo attached. looking at the progress pictures in comparison to the finished painting, i am seeing inconsistencies in the hair (the way it cuts off at some points, and swirls in others). i also noticed she has 6 toes.... SIGH. i want to believe people are good. i am afraid to send an email to this artist about the inconsistencies and possible AI use unless i am 100% sure. i do not want to accuse anyone of anything they didn't do, but also am in no place to pay $50+ for an AI generated painting that i may not receive? i guess the positive part is i only spent $25 and could possibly file a claim with Cashapp? idk. i may have fallen into a trap with this one 🫠 i figured she was legit because i met her in person.. what do you think? does anyone see something i don't? do i just wait until she emails again, or press the issue further? ~ r/isitAI concurred that it is AI. now what..? For the longest time, I would donate and then go to the grocery store and do cash back and then deposit at my bank's ATM. It was convenient as one of my banks is in the grocery store I frequently shop at, but of course that takes time. Then I'd go to 7-11 and Walgreens use their atm then deposit. But then as I mentioned, my debit card got hacked as one of the ATMs had a skimmer/scanner, which stole my info and the person used my prepaid card info to make their own card and steal money, despite the card being in my possession the entire time. Today, I withdrew $1 less than what I had on my account and linked it to my cashapp and then transferred the money straight to my bank for a 50 cent fee. The fee is annoying, but it saves so much time and Id rather do that than risk getting my money stolen. Not to mention I didn't get reimbursed. I was told I have to write a handwritten letter to the P.O. Box to Paysign for an appeal. Got a new job a couple months ago, and since the first day of work there's a coworker who's been asking me to drive them home. We work 2nd shift and typically get of around midnight, so i thought maybe no family was able to drive him. Originally I didn't really mind, he only lives like 10 minutes from me, didn't seem to be that big of a deal. We agreed on $20 a week for me to get gas (on average its like $3.25 a gallon here and my car is not that great). He seems to be getting too comfortable with the fact that I'm driving him, I'm just going to list off all the issues I've experienced with him, keep in mind I've asked him about all of this, and he either dodges my question, or ignores me. He has 2 cars sitting in his driveway, that are BOTH functional, but only one belongs to anyone else in his household. Hes literally told me no one uses the second one. He refuses to venmo, zelle, or cashapp me anything, insist on cash, then leaves me waiting in the gas station parking lot for 25 minutes while he gets food instead of my payment. He opens a can in the backseat without asking me, I don't have cup holders back there and he knows it, I'm ok with anything else except that since it can spill He keeps opening the backwindow to spit out of it... The one time I agreed to pick him up to take him to work, he also left me sitting outside for 20 minutes, then he gets in the car, and asks "did I take too long?"...NOT "sorry that took a minute" or anything, I texted him multiple times saying I was waiting as well. One day I was running errands before work, we start work at 3:30P, he texts me at 2:45 asking to pick him up, I say no, he insists i turn around to get him, we work far enough away that it wasn't feasible but he still acted kinda immature about it. He also continues to do this daily. He said he was saving for a car. It's been 2 months. I understand the holidays mightve made it hard, but I truly don't think he's looking at all, and never has been. What is he going to do if I'm sick and can't take him home? I think today is the end of my relationship. I made a post not too long ago explaining what my 10+ year relationship entailed. Although it’s a bit embarrassing, I did get a lot of comments that were so supportive and I really appreciate everyone’s input. Today is my birthday, and I know I shouldn’t have put expectations on anything but I can’t help but feel disappointed. Yesterday when he came home from work he didn’t even speak to me. I said hello, he said ‘hello’ very short and dry. I asked him if he was ok, he was clearly agitated. He said yup, and walks off to the living room. I was cleaning the kitchen, so I just stayed busy doing that. No conversation, just ignored me. So he gets up and says he’s going in the garage to hang out. He also tells me while he’s getting his drink together that he thinks he’s getting sick. He rattles off a list of things wrong with him. He is clearly not ill, so I say you feel well enough to drink and smoke? He doesn’t say anything. Goes into the garage. He got home at 5, came back in from the garage at 7. I’m in the bathroom and I come out from the bathroom to him sitting on the couch in the living room. He says to me, “Is something wrong??” Clearly he is upset with me. I am kinda surprised, I say “no, what have I done that would make you feel something is wrong with me?” He gets really loud, and says “it’s a question, I can ask a question!” I then tell him that I attempted to talk to him twice, and he ignored me. He ignores me again. He hasn’t brought up my birthday, no mention of it all week. He hasn’t asked me what I wanted. I have a feeling it’s going to be exactly like Christmas and Valentines, he always says he ‘wants me there’ to buy the gifts so he gets exactly what I want. I was promised a trip to the mall, new shoes, a new necklace….yet, we’ve never made it to the mall. I never got shoes or any gifts at all. His birthday is exactly one month before mine, I got him two new pairs of shoes and hats, and he got clothes. The gifts were here, in the house, wrapped for him to open on his birthday. I’m not saying I’m better, but he didn’t buy me anything at all. Not even a card. He woke up at 4am and went downstairs, while he was walking out the room he said happy birthday, I was half asleep. I’m really upset. I don’t know why I expected more, I know it’s impossible for him to make any special occasion about anyone else but himself. He’s going to play up this sudden illness, and be completely useless today. I really just wanted to vent and get this out, because I feel like this could be a really bad argument today. I’m taking our kids on a 5 day vacation to the beach. I didn’t tell him, it was backup plans in case he pulled this shit. I’m glad I did, just sad I had to. I think today is the day, you guys. I got a day with my babies to enjoy ☺️ I called to let him know that we won’t be back until Tuesday, he didn’t seem bothered at all. He didn’t bother asking me anything at all, he said thanks for taking the kids. About 20 minutes later, he said that he’s having an emergency and needs me to come home. I explained that that’s not at option and NOW he is furious. I went ahead and let him know that this relationship isn’t something that I want to continue. There’s no conversations to be had or anything to salvage. I don’t want to do couples counseling and I have no desire to make it work. He’s calling me nonstop so I am going to shut my phone off for a while. But again, I appreciate everything you all have said, all the kindness and encouragement is unbelievable. I know the man I was with isn’t a good one, but I do know there are kind people out there because of all of you ❤️ I’ll get on here a little later when my children’s father calms tf down. Update#3: I am enjoying my vacation with my girls. Yesterday was just what we needed. It’s a breath of fresh air. I have spoken to the father of my kids and we are done. He is aware that it is over with. Now, whether or not he accepts it will be another story. I have applied for townhomes to rent and plan on signing a lease before we leave from this vacation. I don’t think going back to the house is a good idea, like many of you have mentioned I will return for my things accompanied by someone or while I know he’s at work. I pray my things aren’t destroyed, but if they are, they are only things. My kids and I will be ok. Again, I thank all of you for the support. I ended up having to leave the state and relocated back to where we just moved from. I at least have a few friends that I knew from work. I’m neighbors with my old coworker, who has ended up being a Godsend. Still struggling, moving twice in a short amount of time has been hard, however we are far away (13 hours) from anyone that means us harm. I have secured employment, my girls and my dog are safe. The weight is finally off my shoulders, I couldn’t have imagined the peace this all brought into my life. My girls are so much happier. My son's birthday was recently and we decided to throw him a party at a local place that was kid focused and amazing. Because of the rules in his class, we have no way of talking to other parents, giving kids notes to give to other kids, and we don't get an official list of kid's names, we just know the amount of kids. So, we invited the entire class because another rule makes it so if the kid wants to pass out invites,, they have to give an invite to every kid in the class. So, we invited 24 kids. Not a single parent RSVP'ed. Not a single one. My name, my phone number, AND my spouse's phone number was on the card. I'm literally staring at one rn that I handwrote and this was included on the invite. I handwrote every card so I know for a fact what was on there. So, we started inviting other people. My coworkers, family friends, my husband's coworkers... basically anyone that we knew that had a kid, they got to come. So, in total, we had eleven kids come. Party was yesterday night. I paid the entire deposit, paid for 15 kids to be there, and we got enough food for that number of kids plus some extra for the parents. We get there, get settled in, and start seeing kids come in. A few of his classmates began showing up. I was fine with that and was excited kids started showing up for him. And then more kids started showing up. One family brought 7 kids total; 3 teens, 2 slightly older kids, a girl from his classmates, and their cousin. Another family brought their son AND one of his friends because "they didn't know if their son would know anyone there so we wanted to make sure he had a friend to play with". So many of them brought siblings. IThe business is pretty large and while we had a dedicated room for his party, it was largely just a place for people to set their stuff down, eat, and place presents. So it was really hard for me to know exactly how many people were there for the party versus here for a fun night out (the business was open to the public) at the beginning. The person organizing the event came to me later in the event and told me that I had to pay for each new kid. I made an announcement that if you didn't RSVP or you brought kids to the party who weren't his classmate, you needed to pay separately to be there or come talk to me. Three families that brought their kid plus siblings apologized and paid for their other kids. I had multiple parents tell me that they didn't know they couldn't bring their other kids and promised to pay before they left. Some asked for my cashapp/venmo/zello so they could reimburse me later since they couldn't afford it right now. Some just left, a few taking their presents with them (I don't care about that). The payment for the kids was $11 dollars; you got to do an unlimited amount of crafts (painting, drawing, etc), they had an animal there, several different games, and every kid got a goodie bag PLUS a fun keepsake. So, the money is worth it. Another upsetting part was that a big amount of them brought no presents nor even said anything to my son or me. They came, played, and ate the food. Many of them dipped within 30 minutes or really shortly after my announcement. Thirdly, parents were just rude and didn't watch their kids at all. The animal at the event had to be put away early because kids were being mean to it or intentionally trying to upset it. Kids were popping balloons on purpose and literally throwing their food wrappers on the floor. One kid climbed on a table and refused to get done another the owner of the building told their parent they needed to leave. Within an hour and a half, we were asking a lot of people to leave or please help clean up the mess their kid has made. One parent changed a diaper with poop in it and LEFT it on a chair. Not even closed up, yellow poop face open with a wipe on it. Once we decided to shut the party down, I had to pay for every kid who got signed in. To come into the building, you have to state why you're there and you get a special stamp put on your hand that shows why you're here. I had to pay for an extra clean up fee ($50), damage ($120), AND I had to pay for all the kids that came that didn't pay before they left. I was in tears. My son is really upset that there were so many mean kids. Forewarning: I threw this card away years ago in high school when I wasn’t educated enough to know to shred my cards. I threw it away, and now, years later, someone is leaving a digital trail of purchases around Oklahoma. I live in Florida now and have helplessly just been relocking, cancelling, and reordering new cards just for them to attempt to use the card again which is SOMEHOW still accessing my account. My passwords and pins have been changed and they’re still using the card. Finally the police and managers of businesses where the card is being used are collaborating to figure out who this is. In a snowstorm, pulled into gas station. I was in my truck when I saw someone else leave the opposite pump and then pull up to my passenger side window and try to get my attention. It's nighttime, hardly anybody around due to bad weather and the guy was driving a uhaul and towing a car on a trailer. He says his card won't work for gas and asks me if I can use my credit card at the pump and he will cashapp me the money. I said no. I work security at an office in Dallas. A Pizza Hut delivery person came to the building delivering a HUGE order for a group on the 3rd floor. While she is unloading all the bags of boxes pizza, and the boxes of wings, and breadsticks, and plates and napkins and etc. I took the liberty of calling the point of contact letting them know the pizza was here. While waiting for the contact person to come down, I had a little chat with the delivery driver. She was saying how she had a big order before this and another one as a soon as she gets back. She was pretty excited because she said it was a blessing to be making these big deliveries. She didn’t flat out say it but was excited about the tip she should receive on such a large order. An 18% tip would have been $168 dollars after all. She told me about her kids and how they play basketball in school and are going to state and another one of her sons won some UIL awards in science. You could tell how proud of her children she was. However, she revealed it’s been tough because it’s not cheap, in time or money. She had to give up her job as a teacher so she could work a schedule that allowed her to take care of her children.She said her husband works in security like I do and “it helps but it’s hard out there.” Eventually the contact person comes down and has the delivery lady lug most of the stuff onto the elevator and up to the floor they were going to because the contact person didn’t bring a cart or anything to make it easier. I help carry a couple of boxes for her onto the elevator and they were off. A few minutes later she comes back down and she sees me and says “I got it all up there and set it up real nice for them,” as she shows me a picture of the work she did. And then as her voice begins to break she says “they only tipped me $20. I just said thank you and left.” I asked for he $cashapp and gave her $50 and told her she deserves more but it was all I could spare. She gave a me a huge hug and said that this was sign that her day was gonna get better. And I didn’t post this to say “look at the good thing I did.” I posted this to say, if someone is going to whip out the company credit card, make a giant catering order and not even give the minimum 18% tip to the delivery driver who had to load it all into their vehicle, use their own gas to deliver it, unload it and then lug it up and set it up. You are a total piece of shit. It’s not your credit card! Why stiff the delivery driver like that?! I was glad I could help her out but I fear she will just encounter it over and over because corporations suck, tip culture sucks, everything sucks. TL;DR: Delivery driver got a very shitty tip after making a huge delivery and going the extra mile by taking it upstairs and setting it up for the customer. Another edit: Alright I can understand that 18% might be steep for a delivery driver but, even if she didn’t “deserve” an 18% tip, she definitely deserved more than $20 for loading up, driving, unloading, carrying and setting up $938 worth of pizza.
