I feel like every time someone asks about barrier repair, it always ends up being the same handful of answers like CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, and Illiyoon. Not saying they’re bad, but it gets repetitive and I’m not sure which ones are actually worth sticking with long term. My skin barrier is kinda messed up right now from overdoing actives and my face feels tight after washing even with gentle cleanser. Some days it’s flaky but still oily at the same time which is confusing. I’m looking for a moisturizer with ceramides that actually helps repair and not just sit on top of the skin. Something that feels like it’s doing more than just basic hydration. I don’t mind if it’s light or a bit rich as long as it calms the irritation and doesn’t break me out. I have dehydrated combination skin. Before I was using Luxe Organix Miracle Solutions Emulsion as moisturizer, Biore SPF, then finally my foundation. Now that I’m about to be 30, my skin has started becoming coarse. It doesn’t help that I only get little sleep and pumpunta pa sa construction sites. I’ve recently gotten a bonus and decided that one of the smarter buys I could go for is upgraded skincare. Sobrang legit nitong Cosrx. I use the moisturizer twice a day. I think new product ito kasi there isn’t much reviews online. I use the BHA Liquid sa night, 2x a week because I have blackheads and closed comedones. Ayon kay Chatgpt mas nagseseep-in ung BHA under the skin, targeting the black heads and helps with oil. Ung AHA on the other hand is more for the outer layer, and okay naman daw yun for exfoliation. I got the BHA lang muna this time. I’ve only been using these two for a week pa lang (plus the Biore watery gel) but ang ganda na ng texture ng skin ko. Hindi na ako flaky and controlled ung oil sa T-zone. I think nag brighten din ung face ko ng onti, tho I want to keep ung pagkamorena. I’m thinking of adding the Cosrx Retinol 0.1 along the way to help with the aging (as a trentahin). Maybe I am only speaking from my personal experience here, but I am still baffled by the fact that I have not seen any pimple or acne marks on my mom's face from the time I was born! NEVER! I have also never seen her getting waxed or removing body hair as she doesn't get any, and she only makes her eyebrows once a year!!! ANUALLY!!! Sorry my first post got taken down cause I got too excited and didn’t write enough about this amazing product. Have been using almost daily for 2 years. Skin type/concerns: dry, sensitive, eczematous, hormonal acne on chin but am now medicated for this Climate: London, UK - dry compared to where I’m from (Hong Kong) Product: Hada Labo Gokujun Premium Hyaluronic Acid Beauty Essence + 8 refill packs - purchased this in HK for £5-6 per 170mL refill (available on UK Amazon for £12-14, Stylevana £6-9) - texture is syrupy and is used as a toner, does not absorb very quickly unless you use a small amount, but lovely to layer at night and will leave you like a glazed donut Routine (cleanse + toner + moisturize +/- SPF, I rarely use actives due to sensitivity) *edit- I use toner/lotion/essence interchangeably, I apply with bare hands and pat the product on my face, never with cotton pads as that irritates my skin too - AM: Cerave hydrating cleanser, drop of Hada Labo premium (it spreads really well), Naturie Hatomugi gel or milk depending on how my skin feels, Anessa SPF 50 gold tube gel or gold top milk or pink top sensitive milk - PM: double cleanse with oil and gel cleanser (this is currently Fancl and Cerave foaming), Hada Labo premium about a coin size amount, Illiyoon ceramide ato cream or Pyunkang Yul Intensive Repair Cream but if eczema is flaring I jump to La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm after Hada Labo 1 Hada Labo refill will last me and my partner about 2-3 months depending on what other toners we are trying out but we always default to this one. I came asking for help with all the fine lines on my face and you guys delivered! I didn’t realize just how dehydrated my face was and that I was due for some changes in routine. I wasn’t expecting my skin to change so much already (I’m 33) but clearly I needed some changes! YMMV. not repurchasing.
