Went to Chipotle last night for dinner. Wasn’t their best again. Overcooked fajitas is never appetizing. We know they cook real food, but they need to train people better or have a better system in place for consistency. The proteins are an issue as well, usually being overcooked and dried out. Some locations are better than others. Can see why this stock has suffered with lackluster food.

Currently sitting at a 28 P/E ratio with a price per share of around $32-33, Chipotle is now the cheapest it has been since 2015. The company still produces strong free cash flow over the last couple of years. Increasing (but stabilizing/slowing) revenue, Profit margins, opporating income, EDITA, and EPS have flattened. Chipotle is using cash flows to do more stock buybacks it looks like, and opening new locations. Return on Equity in the last years has hovered in the 30s-40s. They have a lot of cash on hand, more than McDonald's actually as of now, although I am sure that is a one off thing. However, they need to fix the inconsistent service across their restaurants, some customers get a full bowl, others get half of a bowl. They also should lower prices in the short term, and they shouldn't be open longer than 9PM, it is dead between 9-11 which is probably wasting money in thkse two hours. I personally love Chipotle, everytime I go at 12, it's busy, their rewards points don't expire unlike other fast food chains, and my Chipotle always gives me double chicken for the price of a regular, which is essentially two meals for me for $9.47 after tax. Burritos are going to the moon. The stock is way down. 50% since July. And you know what. I like the Stock. Sometimes tendies don’t cut it and I’m hungry for that carne asata and guac in my pocket. The food is like Crack. People will want it. And if we could run that Beyond Vegan slop up we can send a tried and true experienced restaurant to the stratosphere. Hey, as I start working on diversifying my portfolio, I am trying to buy more i mutual funds, ETF, and international mutual funds. The shock that I had when I realized I bought 144 chipotle stock in 2022. I want to sell about half to buy other mutual funds. I started investing (very timidly in 2017) and then in 2019 really starting putting more effort but have still been a bit hands off. I am trying to be more proactive now that I am trying to build 401k. I have a lot of individual stocks in there but now mostly mutual funds. So for whatever reason, this sub popped up in my feed recently. Since then I'm also getting targeted ads for Chipotle. I haven't eaten there in at least five years. But these ads and threads keep coming back until one afternoon, high as fuck, I decide to order a burrito from my local Chipotle to be delivered to my local pub shortly after they open and enjoy a lazy afternoon. I made the order in a rush, tipped $7.00 and headed out. Wasn't until I got to the bar and downed my first drink and check the Postmates app that I check the total for the order. $56.33! "What the fuck?" I think assuming that there must be some mistake. Possibly that my stoned ass had accidently ordered two burritos but no. One single burrito delivered. Almost sixty bucks. The bartender that was on duty that day was flabbergasted by the news and for the rest of the day asked each regular "Guess how much this mother fucker payed for a burrito?" Nobody has guessed over $33.00 even after I told them the delivery service, add ons and tip. For the last week every time I come in here somebody asks about the burrito of legend and begin asking those unfamiliar with the tale their own guess. Starbucks offered incoming CEO and Chair Brian Niccol a pay bump and hefty one-time awards to lure him from his prior role as chief executive at Chipotle Mexican Grill. Niccol officially takes the reins at the embattled coffee chain on Sept. 9. As CEO, he’ll be tasked with turning around the company’s slumping sales, improving customers’ experience inside stores and figuring out what to do with its struggling China business. It’s a big undertaking — for which he will be well compensated. Starbucks disclosed Niccol’s incoming pay plan in a filing on Wednesday. The majority of his compensation package is made up of equity that vests over time, and is based on company performance targets and other metrics. In his first year, his pay package could be worth as much as $116.8 million if the company hits its targets and it fully vests. Niccol will be paid a base salary of $1.6 million annually, with the opportunity to earn up to $7.2 million more in cash. He’ll also be eligible for annual equity awards worth up to $23 million. And for leaving Chipotle, Niccol will receive a $10 million cash bonus and $75 million in equity to make up for what he’s forfeiting with his departure from the burrito chain. What happens when there is a 50:1 stock split? Fundamentally, more people have the ability to buy puts/calls because they become cheaper. Yes the options themselves are smaller, but there are so many regards that it doesn’t matter. Therefore, I’m pretty confident we will be able to swing it pretty heavily. My first anti-chipotle “shitpost” got a surprising amount of support, so, it seems like this is actually a pretty divisive issue. Thats a case for the volatility, And now, we come to the question.. should we try to make it go up or go down? Well, let me ask you my fellow ape, does chipotle deserve more of our money? Or do we want to teach them a lesson? To me the answer is clear. We must destroy chipotle as they are becoming too cocky with their endgame corporate power over us plebs trying to get a well-portioned burrito. Fuck em. Simple as that. We don't need any other reason. Either way, I think straddles are the best play coming up. But if you got big balls and want to stick to your ideals, its puts only. The stock splits on June 25th.
