Closet Organizers?
Recently moved and have two small walk in closets as well as a general closet that I just need help organizing. Expecting a baby in the next month so just really trying to make room for everything in this apartment space. I have no real idea what this typically costs but it’s not a huge amount of space so just someone that comes well recommended would be appreciated ! submitted by /u/BlessYrHeart_ to r/NYCbitcheswithtaste [link] [comments]

Side hustle - closet organizer
Hello all. I'm thinking about starting a small side service helping organize closets and small spaces. I though of starting locally, especially helping out busy moms, student housing groups, seniors downsizing, etc. I would love to hear your thoughts/ideas. Just testing out the idea and want to start locally if that makes sense. Thanks submitted by /u/Sharp_Trip_896 to r/Guelph [link] [comments]

Small closet organization ideas? (6x6 closet)
I’m in the middle of reorganizing my closet to make it look nicer and easier to find things. My closet is pretty small — about 6x6, so definitely not a walk-in. One thing I’ve started doing is ditching all the dry-cleaner wire hangers and random plastic hangers that come with clothes (including those Walmart rack hangers 😅). I’m slowly replacing everything with matching hangers. Now I’m wondering what to do with the pile of plastic hangers I’ve accumulated. • Did you donate them? • Recycle them? • Keep them for something else? Also, for those of you with small closets, I’d love to see how you organized yours. If anyone has photos of their setup or tips on maximizing space, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance — I’m trying to make the most out of a tiny closet. submitted by /u/Midlifememoirs to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

Adding organization to small laundry closet???
Hello organization wizards!!!! I have a laundry closet under the stairs. There isn't much room at all, but would love to utilize the vertical space to store things we don't use that often. For example-- niche cleaning supplies, extra paper towels, tools, etc. The closet is obviously deep enough for washer/dryer, so shelves mounted on the wall may end up with lots of useless space in the back, but that's all I can think of. Anyone have any unique ideas I'm not thinking of? TIA!!!! submitted by /u/helloolleh89 to r/Homeorganization [link] [comments]

Experience with Professional Assembly? Thinking about buying a closet organizer on sale - the professional assembly is $119, which seems reasonable since the last time I had a handyman assemble one of these it took several hours. Live in a very rural area. How does this work? Is it worth trying?
****UPDATE: THEY CANCELED AT THE LAST MINUTE****\* This is a inconvenience -- being at the house 2pm on a weekday means someone needs to take off from work. They gave us 2-hour notice of the cancellation, and a generic reason ("Though we try to be as accommodating as possible, occasionally there aren't enough pros available at a given time to fulfill a booking at the requested time. If this happens, we reschedule for another time when a pro is available."). We will need to rearrange the whole day they say they're scheduling us for. We're trying again but we will be putting this failure on full blast if they cancel again. ________________________________________________________________ This is the organizer: https://www.wayfair.com/storage-organization/pdp/rebrilliant-96-closet-organizer-system-with-wooden-drawerscut-to-fit-w116628908.html?piid=363493547 No one in my household can put something like this together. We would have to hire someone--we live in a rural area where it is challenging to find help for something like this. We have no idea who Wayfair would send to do this assembly. Is there a guarantee that they'll do excellent work? (In this case for $119) Thanks for your thoughts submitted by /u/swisssf to r/wayfair [link] [comments]

Ideas on organization and storage?
Hey there everyone. I have a small one bedroom apartment and I'm having trouble organizing it. For example what could I keep in an empty large suitcase? I know I wanna put it under my bed but that's a lot of wasted space in the suitcase. Also, where would you put your old checks that you still might need but haven't written a check over two years? I do not own a desk. If I did that's where I would put them. I also have many towels with many different uses. I have bathing towels, washcloths, microfiber for my glasses, towels for the car, towels for the kitchen, etc. where do you keep them all? I do not have a linen closet. Also, help with kitchen organization. Thank you! submitted by /u/Iceyes33 to r/Apartmentliving [link] [comments]

Seeking closet organization ideas for mostly black wardrobe
Help! I have a pretty decent amount of closet space (for someone living in NYC), but my clothes frequently live in piles and variations of "the chair." Beyond an overall lack of will, I believe the source of my conundrum to be that pretty much everything I wear is black, plus there's basically no delineation between my work clothes and like normal clothes. On top of this, my apartment is a bit dark, and I am rather chronically late, so I spend pretty much every morning destroying my closet and the applicable piles trying to locate the specific black shirt my outfit *needs* on any given day (yes, I have ADHD). Has anyone successfully dealt with this somewhat specific situation? Any tips?? I get zero joy from organizing, and while I love my clothes and getting dressed, I am not loving the compounding closet explosions to lateness to piles everywhere to somehow more explosions situation (and my extremely patient husband loves it even less). submitted by /u/dangles472 to r/UnfuckYourHabitat [link] [comments]

Linen Closet Organization Help!
Been talking with my wife about how to organize this linen closet under our steps since we moved in a few months ago. Need advice- Organizing closet with no door
It's been bothering me for a while but I want to make my closet neater. I don't have a door and feel like everything looks too cluttered. I am by no means an organized person but sometimes I feel like my lack of organization makes me feel claustrophobic I guess. Also I have a bunch of paintings that I have no clue what to do with... anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm open to any ideas or product suggestions! Note: I moved back in with my mom after job and rent troubles so there is a slight space limit. Which is why I'm mostly focused on organizing things within my room. submitted by /u/yogurtchild55 to r/organizing [link] [comments]

this closet is the bane of my existence. how to organize?
Hi all! I’m sorry if this isn’t the correct sub for this question. Hoping for some advice on this bc I’ve tried a few things and nothing’s worked. Basically my closet has a slightly more narrow door than a typical entryway door. I’ve added my best attempt at a diagram to hopefully make this a bit clearer. Instead of opening to the full closet, a bit more than half of the closet is positioned behind part of the wall. I’m able to reach a bit past the wall to access some clothes, but there’s a few feet where nothing is accessible. The closet’s width its fairly shallow as well (about a few inches wider than the length of a hanger), so for those clothes I can’t access I’m not able to easily pull them off the rack and through. If I need something in the red section, I have to take at least half of the green section clothes out of the closet. I’m really struggling with how to best organize this space. I rotate my clothes in/out for the season so I don’t really have clothes in there that I don’t need access to and can shove to the back. Im looking into some under bed storage instead, but it feels like a waste of storage space to not have anything in the closet there. Any thoughts on storage ideas/how to best organize is much appreciated!! submitted by /u/suburban-blues to r/DesignMyRoom [link] [comments]

The closet in my bedroom is awkward. Any ideas?
My bedroom closet is awkward, to say the least. My room is just big enough for a king sized bed and adequate walking space around it. Connected to a small bathroom. The closet is basically a section of the room enclosed in walls. There used to be sliding mirrors where the tracks are, but I took them bien because I didn’t like them. I added some wire shelves. I’d like to spruce it up and get some suggestions on covering it up and some organizing ideas. submitted by /u/juiceman100grand to r/DesignMyRoom [link] [comments]

How do you organize the hanging clothes your closet? Any methods that will lead to more decluttering?
For some reason, I have a very difficult time decluttering the clothes that hang in my closet. Maybe it’s because they are usually my nicer tops and bottoms? So they never get ratty looking. It’s more a matter of, am I tired of wearing them, or do they not fit anymore? The long-term goal is to whittle my closet down to a collection of clothes that I fit and enjoy wearing. The short term goal is to organize my clothes in a way that makes it easier for me to see what I have and assess what I don’t need. I live in an area with four seasons. That makes it even harder. I also went up a couple of sizes and have hung onto the clothes that I MIGHT be able to wear again. (Ugh maybe I’m seeing the problem lol!) I am middle-aged now. I don’t have time for a fantasy self. I want clothes in my closet that help me live my life, not project an image. So do you organize by color? do you organize by sleeve length and weight? Do you organize by how formal the item is? Do you have a side of the closet that you put items that are on the chopping block? Like, if you don’t wear them soon they have to go. I’m not sure what my problem with my closet clothes are. Maybe I just don’t like them. The idea of getting rid of all of them and starting all over is tempting but too wasteful for me. I appreciate any advice on how you manage this. submitted by /u/bigformybritches to r/declutter [link] [comments]

AITA for threatening eviction to my girlfriends father
I recently inherited an apartment complex from a deceased family member. In one of the two buildings, (small world) is my girlfriend's father. In his apartment is a severe hoarding condition. I noticed this when I went door to door to meet with each tenant to inform them of new ownership/management. I knocked on the door, and the door can only open halfway. The stench is terrible (of cat p*ss and etc), clothes and garbage from floor to ceiling, and the only organized room was the bedroom. I was SHOCKED. I told him that I am giving him 30 days to clean or he will be evicted. He said "well i'm your girlfriend's dad, you cant do that to me! I won't have anywhere to live". He has 6 cats, no idea HOW they are even alive, there's black mold in the closet and I spotted about 6 cockroaches. I told him that I will order a dumpster for next weekend. If compliance is not met, I will have him legally evicted as he poses a huge hazardous threat to everyone in the building. My gf is begging me to let him stay but, I am not wasting time and any more funds on him, or giving any special treatment. I also told him that if he is able to stay after the 30 days, i am giving im 30 days to get rid of the cats, as I will not be allowing them on my properties. This has created so much tension between me and him and my gf and I because she wants him to live the way he has been... AITA submitted by /u/No-Acanthaceae-3058 to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

AITA for wearing a white dress to my friend’s wedding?
I can’t believe I’m using this Reddit account for ANOTHER wedding related issue. I (20F) met my friend Charlotte (21) when I moved into my college dorm in August 2020. We got along well, shared ideas for how we wanted to divide space and keep things clean/organized, and had many similar interests. Within a month we were studying & hanging out together, and I considered her a good friend. I also met her now-husband Josh (22). They seemed like a cute and loving couple, and I was very happy when they got engaged Christmas 2020 after 3.5 years together. Charlotte has spent the last 18 months planning this wedding down to the last detail. I won’t say she’s obsessive, but it’s been INTENSE and I’ve tried to help her as best I can with making appointments, managing stress, etc. I also gave her $250 to help pay for the wedding (her family can only afford part of it) which isn’t included in the wedding gift I’m going to give her. A month before the wedding, I was still trying to decide exactly what to wear. I wanted something nice, because Charlotte said she would have a photographer, videographer, and wedding painter. I knew Charlotte had a vision for her wedding and I wanted her as in control as possible for all the details of her special day, so I asked her which dress out of the three I’d narrowed it down to that I should wear. She asked if I would actually pull out all my dresses, so I did. She ended up narrowing it down to one of my picks, along with a dress I had put firmly in the “no” pile for being white. It was a wedding after all. She told me both dresses were lovely, but that she prefers the white one. I asked if she was sure, and she said yes, and even picked out a pair of pink and white heels from her closet to go with my dress. I figured that was that. Fast forward to last week, I show up in the dress about half an hour before the ceremony. I get some weird looks, but no one says anything. In hindsight, this is when I should have realized something wasn’t right. When Charlotte comes out of her dressing room for some last minute pictures, she looks shocked to see me, and then she starts turning red. She pulls me aside and starts going off on me immediately about wearing the dress to her wedding. I’m stunned. I ask her what the problem is, because SHE picked the dress out, and she told me it was a “friendship test” and that if we were real friends then I wouldn’t have worn a white dress or her shoes to her wedding. I started laughing because I honestly thought it was a joke, and she screamed at me that I ruined her “ f-ing wedding” and to “gtfo”. I flat out told her she was crazy and left, not wanting to fight anymore and not knowing how to deal with what happened. I grabbed my wedding gift to them on the way out. My phone has been flooded with texts, voicemails, and social media notifs from her, her friends, and her family about what an AH I am, but I honestly don’t see what I did wrong. Am I really the asshole here? EDIT: Quite a few people have said YTA/ESH because “you should know not to wear white anyway” and I just want to clarify that I brought this point up to Charlotte more than once while asking if she was sure, and she insisted that I wear the white dress. She said I would look lovely and she wanted me to look my best for her wedding bc she wanted very nice pictures/videos. I would not have worn this dress if she had not assured me multiple times that it was what SHE wanted. EDIT 2: Someone made a comment about how “if the bride is wearing white” I should at least be prepared for the weird glances. The bride didn’t even wear white. That was another non-traditional thing she did. She wore blue. 6/20/22 — UPDATE ON MY PROFILE submitted by /u/runawaymaidofhonor to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

AITA For telling my late fianceè's dad that I will call the police when he took the engagement ring?
My fiancee passed away last march from infection she was dealing with organ failure and was becoming weaker. She was 25 and I'm 30. I proposed to her at the hospital because the longer I waited the worse her condition got and we were only engaged for a few days. she went into a coma and passed away. I was devastated and mad. I was mad at everyone and had so much anger and grief that I was too weak to deal with. I just couldn't deal with fact that I had no choice but to start to learn to live without her. It was incredibly hard phase and I'm still learning to adapt but I have some of her stuff that bring me comfort and a bit of joy. This is my first Christmas without her and I wanted to do what I did every year and buy her a nice gift. But I don't know where to take it, frankly. Lately her dad has been contacting me wanted to come and take some of my fiancee's stuff. Even though he already took what he wanted. I told him to wait for me til I get home but he must've had the spare key that my fiancee had. It's my apartment and He never returned it to me. In two hours he called me and said that he already sorted through her stuff and took what he needed. I was pretty pissed at this point because there's stuff that are sentimental to me and I had no idea what he took. I got home and I found that among the stuff he took. Was my fianceè's engagement ring. The reason I knew he took it is that the ring was in my closet not with her things, the way my clothes were scattered was an indicator he had no business going through my things and taking it. I called him several times but only his wife (fiancee's stepmom) responded. He called me back at 11pm and I asked him if he took the ring I proposed to my late fiancee with. He avoided the question then said that he indeed took it. I lost it I told him he had no right to even be in my bedroom and take something that belongs to me. He corrected me saying the ring was on his daughter's finger before she passed away therefor it was hers and he gets to keep it. I argued with him and told him I paid for the ring and also and more importantly is that this ring belongs with me since it's a symbol of my relationship with my fiancee and I just can't let go of it like that. He reminded me that I'm not her husband and that from now on he doesn't have to deal with me. I got so mad at him I told him he has two days to bring it back or I'll call the cops. He hung up after calling me names. Family and close friends heard from him and said I was out of my mind to call the police on my late fianceè's father no matter the reason. They didn't let me explain and said that my pain and grief are nothing compared to a parent losing their child. They've all called me pathetic and attention seeking...God knows what. But I insisted and told them that I'll do it. submitted by /u/AlonethisXmas7 to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]
