Cloud Computing
What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services over the internet, allowing users to access and store data and applications on remote servers instead of local computers. It enables on-demand access to a shared pool of configurable resources, such as servers, storage, databases, networking, software, and analytics.

Is Cloud Computing trending?

Yes. Cloud Computing growing with a month-over-month change of 3.22% over the past 5 years, with approximately 27,100 monthly searches.

Why is Cloud Computing trending?

1
Cost Efficiency
Cloud computing reduces the need for physical hardware and infrastructure, allowing businesses to save on capital expenditures and operational costs. Users pay only for the resources they consume.
2
Scalability
Cloud services can be easily scaled up or down based on demand, providing flexibility for businesses to adjust their resources as needed without significant investment.
3
Accessibility
Cloud computing allows users to access their data and applications from anywhere with an internet connection, facilitating remote work and collaboration among teams.
4
Automatic Updates
Cloud service providers manage software updates and maintenance, ensuring that users always have access to the latest features and security patches without manual intervention.
5
Enhanced Security
Many cloud providers offer advanced security features, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance with industry standards, which can be more robust than what individual businesses can implement.
6
Disaster Recovery
Cloud computing provides reliable backup and disaster recovery solutions, allowing businesses to quickly recover data and applications in case of an outage or data loss.
7
Environmental Sustainability
By optimizing resource usage and reducing the need for physical infrastructure, cloud computing can contribute to lower energy consumption and a smaller carbon footprint.

Should i persue a career in Cloud Computing?
Hi! I'm getting my Bachelor's degree in AI/CS this summer but i don't enjoy the development of AI based projects. Cloud Computing was suggested to me but i'm not sure if i should persue a career in it. ( i'm based in Saudi Arabia) Is it worth it? How's a job like? What certifications are worth it in the field? If you have other subs i can share my question in please write them. Thank you! submitted by /u/Gamer_Kitten_LoL to r/Cloud [link] [comments]

Trying to break into Cloud Computing - but need your HELP.
I don't have a CS degree, and have never had a tech job before. But I have good idea about networking and know my way around Linux, I have finished two projects yet : 1) Deployed a SpaceX clone website on AWS using S3 for static hosting and CloudFront for global CDN delivery with HTTPS. Configured bucket policies, origin access, and resolved real-world 403 and 504 errors. 2) Built a complete IAM security structure on AWS simulating a real company environment. Created users, groups, and roles with least-privilege policies. Tested and verified permissions by logging in as each user and confirming access boundaries. Resolved real access denied scenarios and documented findings. I have 3-4 more projects in mind, after that I am going to get some AWS Certs. But the job market isn't smiling broadly at people with no experience. So I am targeting basic help desk jobs in IT, MSP, Junior Sysadmin roles which require A+ and Network+ certs 😭 I don't want to waste time and money on these. Is there ABSOLUTELY ANYWAY AROUND THIS? A lot of jobs in Indeed and LinkedIn require CS degree and I feel like an idiot not getting more Certs. submitted by /u/Mission_Drawer4709 to r/Cloud [link] [comments]

Is cloud computing possible to learn independently?
I’m 20 and is currently studying Information Systems at my university. I took automation concentration a semester ago, but I think I’m starting to regret it after realizing that CC is a much better option. For context all of my family members work in business/econ, and I’m the only one in IT so I didn’t have too many references when aiming for what I should do. I did consider CC, but eventually chose automation since I liked developing apps and automating tasks. But I really think only liking it will not bring me anywhere since it’s still considered a heavily underrated job in my country. I also considered Business Intelligence, but it’s already too over saturated here. I’m really starting to regret my choice after realizing that CC is indeed what every business will need in the future. Everyone can learn technical skills but not everyone can understand theories. My question is will it be possible to learn CC from scratch independently at my age? I think doing both CC and automation will be good if possible. I don’t think I’m going to look back at Business Intelligence since I don’t really like handling data that much. submitted by /u/eggswithcranberry to r/Cloud [link] [comments]

confused about Cloud Computing… is it even worth it for freshers?
Hey guys, I’m a BSc Computer Science 2nd year student from India. I was thinking of learning Cloud Computing/AWS, but after reading a lot of posts I’m seeing that cloud jobs are hard to get for freshers and not really entry-level. Now I’m kinda stressed because I have only 1.5 years left and I don’t want to waste time. Also, I’m planning to do Master’s after my degree, so I want to choose the right path early. Can someone experienced please guide me should I still continue with cloud or choose something else? submitted by /u/sujalllllll_ to r/Cloud [link] [comments]

Former employee installed an Adobe shared device license (for the full Creative Cloud suite) on his home computer and is refusing to deactivate it. I guess he wants a free license for life? His home computer shows up in audits and is hogging one of our SDL seats. What can we do?
I've already tried resetting all of our installations, which forced users to sign in again to activate the installation, but it looks like he knows someone's credentials and is signing in as a current staff member to authenticate (we have federated IDs, synced to our identity provider). It's locked down so only federated IDs from our organization can sign in, so it should be impossible for him to activate. (Unfortunately, the audit log only shows the machine name, not the user's email used to sign in). I don't really want to force hundreds of users to change their passwords over this (we don't know which account he's activating his installation with) and we can't fire him because he's already gone. What would you do? His home computer sticks out like a sore thumb in audit logs. The only reason this situation was even possible was because he took advantage of his position as an IT guy, with access to the package installer (which contains the SDL license file). A regular employee would have simply been denied if he asked for it to be installed on his personal device. Edit: he seriously just activated another installation on another personal computer. Now he's using two licenses. He really thinks he can just do whatever he wants. Ideas? submitted by /u/BrightSign_nerd to r/sysadmin [link] [comments]
