So I'm pretty upset at the blatant sexism of Down Philadelphia and Howl at the Moon. Before we went out, my friend said she wanted to wear this outfit that was see-through and pretty revealing. You could see her lingere. She checked the event info and it said "no dress code" aside from not wearing flip flops or shoes that are too beat up. Plus they literally have girls with their asses out on their instagram as the main promotion for the club. I picked a pretty revealing outfit to match my friend. When I went to the club, I had see through tights under it since it's cold in Philadelphia. I took them off when I got in. We spent the whole night partying in those outfits. Everything was fine. There were other girls who wore outfits that were just as revealing. The videographer was all over me and the other half-naked girls taking a million pictures and videos to promote the venue. Then I went to the bathroom with my friend and once of the bouncers got super mad at me for my outfit. He said my outfit was inappropriate and that I needed to cover up. He asked me to put my tights back on and I just said "are you serious?" He was the bouncer so I didn't want to argue or cause a scene but it was pretty hypocritical for the club to use half-naked girls to promote their venue and then proceed to slut-shame those girls and tell them to cover up after Then he said I had an attitude (when he was the one slut-shaming me) and said I needed to leave. I said fine, I can put my tights on. But he already decided he was kicking me out. He wouldn't even let me get my coat or wait indoors for him to get my coat. I just stopped right in front of the entrance and told him I wasn't going to go outside without my coat and proceeded to take out the ticket. He grabbed my ticket and made us wait outside for our coats in the freezing cold - I guess as some sort of punishment for being underdressed and not following along blindly with whatever dumb sexist thing he decides to say in the moment. By the way, I go out clubbing quite regularly and I've never been kicked out of a club. ​ I'm just mad. I'm literally telling everyone I know about it bc the whole thing was so sexist.
