Re: HEAT WAVE IN EUROPE
I'm not a fan of the AC blasting but I do like having it and being in control. At work I am always freezing. I am off for two works getting things done around here and loving every minute. My favorite thing to do is open up in the morning and smell the fresh air and have my coffee. Suppose to get much hotter all next week so probably work in am and shop in the pm.

Tips for opening my Coffee shop
To give some context, I have been in the works for opening a coffee shop since October of last year. I am in the south in the US. I have taken business classes in my area and have used the SBDC (Small Business Development Center) for consulting services. I have a business plan, projected financial costs and goals, I have connected with local suppliers for coffee (I am not roasting myself), and have visited a few potential locations. I am concerned with the state of the world to be honest, and fighting with myself with the risk of opening a business in this economy, as cliche as it sounds. I would love to hear from people who have been through the ups and downs of not only owning a business, but a coffee shop. I have not started a business before, but I am trying be as educated and well rounded as I can before pulling the trigger. Anything from coffee tips and landlords, to just the things you had to learn while transitioning from being an employee to a boss. submitted by /u/Fancy_Cartographer98 to r/coffeeshopowners [link] [comments]

Any coffee shop success stories?
Seems like the general consensus is that opening a coffee shop is a great way to light money on fire. This probably sounds stupid, but I’ve always had an affinity for those overpriced coffee shops where you pay way more than you should for a mediocre latte, but the ambiance keeps you coming back. The decor, lighting, music, a fun or unique menu, etc always would keep me coming back, had nothing to do with the coffee itself. Seeing how well my hometowns overpriced keurig pod shop did got me thinking about starting my own somewhere. I know one day I’ll burn out of my stupid high demand finance job that I have zero passion for. When that day comes, I know I’ll want to do something that makes me feel passionate. However, I understand that living costs money, and for the most part everyone here says coffee shops don’t make money. Is this Reddit echo chamber? Or were coffee shops really that impossible to turn a profit on. Any success stories here? submitted by /u/GuinnessEnjoyer7 to r/smallbusiness [link] [comments]

My dad lent me 600k to open a coffee shop. I used it to trade stocks while searching for supplies and a location. I ended up doubling the money in a year and eventually scrapped the coffee shop business plan.
I randomly became a full-time stock trader. Edited: A lot of people asked which stocks I bought, so I’m updating the post here: AMD at 85, sold at 250 TSLA at 280, sold at 410-450 SOXL at 12, sold at 35 UNH calls, sold when the stock was at 380-ish INTC calls and shares at 23, sold at 45 RDDT at 100, sold at 200 ENPH shares and calls at 26, sold the short-dated calls and still holding shares/ LEAP calls Also sold a lot of cash-secured puts throughout the year Edited 2: Stocks I am playing next: NOW, ORCL, BULL, SMCI, FOUR, SMR Edited 3: Many people ask how do I pick stocks? My strategy is pretty simple and straightforward. When I see good companies with solid fundamentals got trashed, I see opportunities. On the other hand, if a company gets hyped everywhere, I hit sell. In trading terms, I buy leaps/ calls/ sell puts at extreme oversold levels (AMD, UNH, INTC, ENPH you name it), and when RSI is overbought, I sell. submitted by /u/borninAlphaCentauri to r/TheRaceTo10Million [link] [comments]

Coffee Shops
I know a lot would get mad, pero I’ve tried a lot of local coffee shops around town, and one thing I keep noticing is the lack of consistency. I’m not a coffee expert or connoisseur, but you don’t need to be one to notice when the same drink tastes different every visit. Ambiance? Okay, sure! Baguio cafés really nail the aesthetics. Cozy, Instagrammable, vibe-y. Pero sana yung timpla ng coffee or drinks would be consistently good, not consistently unpredictable. One day the latte is balanced and comforting, the next day it’s either too watery, too bitter, or suddenly acidic. Espresso-based drinks especially feel like they depend on who’s on shift. May days na okay, may days na parang hindi calibrated ang machine or hindi pare-pareho ang recipe. Milk-based drinks minsan mas milk kaysa coffee, minsan mas coffee kaysa drink. Flavor syrups? Either nonexistent or overpowering. This is not meant to target or attack any specific coffee shop or business. This is just a collective personal perspective based on my own experiences as a customer who does café-hopping in Baguio. Again, I’m not saying local cafés are bad. Baguio has an amazing café culture, creative concepts, and passionate people behind the bar. This is more of a consistency issue than a quality issue. Ang hirap lang maging regular customer kapag hindi mo alam kung ano ang makukuha mo bawat balik. Support local always. Just hoping consistency becomes as important as aesthetics and vibes. submitted by /u/ube_creamcheese to r/baguio [link] [comments]

Opening a coffee shop
I’ve always wanted to own my own coffee shop, I’ve had a name and vibe for it for years, but have never really pursued it because I didn’t think I’d be capable of making it happen so it’s always just been a dream, I’m currently just about finished with my bachelors in communications, particularly marketing and it’s making me think a lot about how I could be marketing for my own coffee shop so I kind of want to get some ideas and opinions from other small business owners/ coffee shop owners. I’ve been a barista for about 8 years now. I spent about 5 1/2 years In a local coffee shop and almost 3 years at a huge corporation ahem.. Starbucks which sucks and isn’t real coffee but I needed the benefits. So I have plenty of barista experience. I have been a supervisor/manager at both places. The small business i handled all of the inventory, did a lot of the marketing, a lot of the drink creating and spent a lot of my time and effort there. So I know how internally a coffee shop works and runs too but having my own business seems intimidating. I live in a very populated city, where coffee is a huge demand I’ve found a location I’d love to rent that fits the moody/ witchy vibe I’m going for (garage door, loft, rustic, dark exterior vibe) it’s apart of shopping/event center which I think would be perfect for foot traffic and exposure. There’s no coffee competition, just a hair salon, tattoo shop, bakery, pizza shop, brewery and some boutiques. I’ve done a lot of the research and have calculated the price of all of the things I’d need to do and have, my question I guess is what’s next? How do you make it happen? Is it worth it? submitted by /u/ignoremeimsad to r/smallbusiness [link] [comments]

Guy kept cutting in line at the coffee shop, so I made his morning routine miserable
There's a coffee shop I go to every morning before work. Small place, usually has a line of 5-6 people. There's this one guy who would show up, see the line, and then pretend to "just remember" he needed to ask the barista a question. He'd walk up to the counter, ask something stupid like what size the medium is, and then conveniently just order while he was already up there. He did this at least four times that I witnessed. Nobody ever called him out because, you know, confrontation before coffee isn't worth it. So I started playing the same game. Whenever I'd see him walk in and start heading toward the counter with his "I have a question" routine, I'd quickly step out of line and beat him to it. Then I'd ask the most annoying, time-consuming questions possible. "What's the difference between a latte and a cappuccino again?" "Do you have oat milk? What about almond? Soy? Which one froths better?" "Can you explain your whole pastry selection?" And then I'd say "Oh actually, let me get back in line and think about it" and go back to my spot. He'd be stuck standing there looking like an idiot. After about a week of this, he started just waiting in line like a normal person. Problem solved. Haven't seen him try to cut since. submitted by /u/Wings_of_Pastrami_91 to r/pettyrevenge [link] [comments]

Overheard at the coffee shop: two college girls “studying”
There was a lot of quotable conversation from these two students but here are the highlights: - I think the paperclip in this story represents her vagina, and he like stole her paperclip so he symbolically stole her vagina, but there are literally so many things in this story that represent vaginas - I don’t understand history at all. People fought wars over the dumbest things. Like, the whole revolutionary war could have been settled over a cup of tea. And World War One was started just because someone shot Franz Kafka - The Roman Empire makes no sense. I mean how were they in Italy AND Jerusalem? - The other day I was reading about Protestants and it hit me…They’re called Protestants because they were “PROTESTING”! - everyone from New York is either Jewish, gay, or smart. And there’s like a lot of overlap there too. What do think our professor is? He’s at least two… submitted by /u/squirrels-mock-me to r/overheard [link] [comments]

Unexpected from my favorite local Coffee Shop...
Only noticed the sticker once I got back in the car. I've been supporting this small local coffee shop (Invita) since I moved to the area... the gasp I gasped as soon as I saw it. I'm not surprised there are supporters in this particular area, but I am pretty shocked this place has the gumption to take a pretty divisive stance; and for something as innocuous as a coffee sticker? "We love you"?????? Wtf. Not sure how to feel about them now.. submitted by /u/serioussslyy to r/sandiego [link] [comments]

Please don't open a coffee shop business.
Unless you really have a vision & dedication to invest millions to build a strong brand, please invest your money elsewhere. Sobrang saturated na ng market with coffee chains & bootstrapped local cafes. It has become the new "milktea" trend. Started my own shop din, and boy let me tell you sobrang hirap. Masarap/quality coffee mo? Guess what, that means nothing kasi there's hundreds of cafes na masarap/quality din. If you started before pandemic & survived, congrats kasi you're good and entered while may room for growth pa sa market. Nowadays, with the very aggresive expansion ng coffee chains like Zus Coffee, and the trend sa socmed that's glorifying the industry, wala na mga beh as in. Based on experience, consider this before starting: You have millions to burn. Do a quick search of an interview ng owner ng Candid Coffee. Based dun, it would take around 3-5 million to build a solid brick & mortar store (if memory serves me right). That's everything from picking a prime location, setting up the shop, marketing, etc. If you don't have that kind of capital, then it's best to stop and consider other ventures. You are a marketing virtuoso. Yeah can start naman with small capital, which is part of the problem din kasi walang masyadong barrier to entry. But if you do, make sure you can market the sh*t out of your brand. I'm not even exagerating. Most of the "success stories" na cafes, it was because they we're smart and aggresive with marketing lalo na sa socmed like Tiktok. Have a clear USP, invest wisely on marketing campaigns kasi not every marketing opportunity will yield results. Location If wala pang coffee shop sa lugar nyo (which I HIGHLY DOUBT is the case), then go grab the opportunity. Restaurant concept Based on observation, yung mga local cafes that are able to survive and thrive ay yung mga cafes na may extensive food menu. Pinoys love to eat nga naman. Tapos yung coffee ay parang additional na lng ganon. My shop focused on coffee & definitely missed out on this revenue stream. As for myself? I'll be closing my shop soon. My passion for coffee, and yung compliments ng mga regulars ko sadly don't pay the bills. Hundreds of pesos lost, but lessons learned. submitted by /u/Agitated_Revenue_577 to r/phinvest [link] [comments]

Coffee shop review
I was about to post this as a comment but i got carried away. Nitaas sya so i decided to make a separate post about it. — Lahi lahi man tag preference so maybe u wont like what i like. But still posting this anyway because maybe itl help especially feel nako ako ang target market sa coffee shops diri sa cdo. I drink coffee a lot. 7days a week siguro. I do my own coffee but most of the time sometimes 7days a week gyud, i buy from coffee shops. What i like: arabica, medium roast. Fresh fresh fresh beans! Makabalo ko if 3mos ago na ang giserve sakoa hahaha Kindle coffee - 4.5 stars. The best but closed na now They serve from triad coffee roasters which i like Daily Dose (triad gyapon mao ganahan ko)- 4 stars lang kay one time giservan ko nilag old beans na ang lasa sa americano Bean stoked - tried drip adtong bag o pa sila nag open, old beans ila gamit so wa nako gibalik. Wont rate yet kay wa pako kabalik H proper- 4 stars. Tried milk based and americano then drip. Ok sakoa but havent been there now that they turned into restaurant Milestone- 3.5 stars. Tried both americano and milk based. Ok americano. Milk based tend to be very sweet if bigger size imo paliton. Quality is better if kadtong smaller size ra. But 3.5 only bec its too sweet sometimes and usahay kay halang ra kaayo ang beans murag dili gaka calibrate ug tarong Kape dionisio -3.5 stars. Hit or miss. Usahay lasyaw ang ilang milk. Usahay halang ang beans. -americano is also ok Fukuro-4 stars because its more consistent than others. Naay sometimes halang ang beans or old beans ang gamit but not every time. Rare lang. -americano here for me is 4.5stars Bowerbird- 4.5 stars. But this is a recent review lang kay sauna lasyawan ko sa ila gatas. Nakatry sad ko diri na klaro kaayo old beans gamit. Wa nako nibalik. Recently nitry ko balik and ok na the milk. So ober all ok na sako. Mc coffee- 4 stars. Very competitive coffee. I think they roast their own beans also. Sometimes its sweet but havent bought coffee from them that much to say na dili siya consistent Permiro- 3.5 stars. Ok na siya sakoa but naay weird taste ilang milk. Kanang mura btaw sya ug alaska na lahi sya sa ubang gamit na milk. Pero pwede na gyapon ni sya id give it 4 stars if dili lang tam is ra kaayo ang ilang bigger sizes like sa milestone. Stick to small size lang mo diri if di mo ganahan tonsilon. Cafe bali- 4.5 stars. Stick to small sizes also but their big sizes are better than milestone and permiro. Tam is usahay ang big sizes but not as sweet as m and p. Ayaw mo panara ha. Pero ayoha inyo aircon kay igang kaayo Grae-3stars. Gimolds ilang revel bar pag palit nako. Good cs they apologized and gave me freebies nuon that time idunno now. Mimo- 4 stars for coffee but im not sure if consistent kay 5x pako nakatry sa ila and not regularly kay dili duol sa places nga ako gaadtoan Jose - 3.5 stars sa akoa. Ok sya esp kadtong naa sila sa centrio(4stars to sakoa). Ambot why kadto nag buy nako from their store sa bulua, so-so nAlang sya na demote na noon Apostrophe- 3 stars. Lasyawan ko. Daghan ga hype pero ambot uy. Tho i dont buy consistently sa ila kay di nako bet anh first few buys nako. Paiks- 3 stars. Mas lami ila branch sa manila. For some reason commercialized kaayo ang lasa diri. Di nako bet Un&franc - 3.5 stars for americano. Way lami doh. Unsa inyo gamit na espresso machine uy? Salaan? Murag way sipa na unsa ba. Nag milk tea ko? Maison alessa -2.5 stars. Soso ra. Sa soc med kay mura jud daghan kaayu naa sa menu. Pag abot didto dili available. Basin influencer ra ila baligyaan ana para nice sa pictures. Nyahaha Daves beanery- sarado na yata sila now. 2.5stars. Murag nag milk tea. Or need siguro silag updated recipe. Murag na stuck sila atong era bitaw na milk tea or kadtong tam is kaayo na drink murag naka 100% sugar level pirmi Curio-4 stars. Could be 4.5 if consistent ko nag buy. But i havent bought enough to up the score. Inaccessible for me Caffeneited - ok na for me but not into cold brew kaayo ko. Ok ok na for price. 3 stars lang kay leaning gyud ko sa espresso Sharmaines - surprisingly 4 stars for me. But not consistent kay usahay lasyaw ilang milk. Unya if cold drinks ako paliton usahay kay malasahan pa nako ang ininit Portavitta - 4 stars. Close na sila now. Kadtong hapit na sila mag close kay na poor ilang quality. Lasyaw na sya. Sad. I hope na hype ni sya pag ayu para naretain ila quality and wala nag close Bai coffee -4 stars. Could be 4.5 siguro if pirmi ko gapalit. Mga 3timss pako kapalit and out of 3x ok ako experience. So if palpak pud sila wa ko kabalo kay 3x rajud ko kapalit Aurora sa elsalvador - 4 stars but could go low. 3x rasad ko ka palit. Ok ako experience but for some reason feel nako kay if always ko magpalit didto nako makita ang cons nya. Elysee -3.5 stars but need more time to try para maka ingon ko ok. Food ok ra sad but could be lower siguro feel nako dili ok other days nyahaha August-3.5 stars same sa elysee but i feel like ma 4 ni if always ko gaadto kay so far okhan ko sa sipa sa ilang coffee. Food wise di ko ganahan kay murag highblaron ko pag uli maybe because coffee and fatty food ang combi. Walay coke diha dzai? Lisod kaayo itulon ug sparkling drink or kape ang paris. Higalaay - 3.5 stars. Ok baya but need more time to up this if ok gyud sya always Coffee cartel -4 stars ni sakoa pero taod taod nako wa ka adto. Ambot open pa ba ni Belean - 3.5 stars. Delonghi ila gamit. Ok ra sya pero naay one time na milk based ako gipalit ang supposedly mejo sweet to sya pero murag nalimtan nila ang tam is ug butang. Di man sad nila specialty so pasang awa na sya sakoa kay croissant man dapat ila specialty haha Bean park- 3 stars. I dont get the hype. Igang ilang place pag uli nako subawan ko. Kape lasyaw dugay pajud maserve usahay. Messy kitchen - 4 stars but not tried americano pa sa ila. Daghan lang ga tambay na estudyante diri unya dili maka tone down sa ila voice. If mag sungog sungog sila kay saba kaayo mao not good tambayan diri ug di ka gusto saba Fat chef -4 stars. Oo nangape ko sa fatchef. Ug lami kaayo ila coffee pero grabe ka mahal murag close to 200 or 200 na. Ngyeh. Pero lami ra sad sya. More on the sweeter side but sipa sa kape and beans quality ok sya Modesto- 4 stars for their americano but not tried ila milk based. Fresh beans and bet ang roast. But only tried there 5x siguro so not sure if its always like that Cafe leone-3 stars very generic almost like the taste sa portavitta like kadtong manarahay na sila hehe sakto lang pwede na but dili nako icrave — What i dont like: coffee like don mac, always coffee, etc etc kay like i said i prefer espresso. Usually mga inani kay cold brew. Id never buy. Katry rako sa caffeneited kay libre sa kasal ug bunyag nga ako naapilan wahaha wont buy from coffee project, dear joe, starbucks, etc, Kulang pa siguro ni pero mao ra ni ako ma remember for now Mga dili nako bet balikan: kanang igang or grabe ang glare sa sun like un&franc. Please pag butang mog blinds. Kabalo ko estetik ang glass walls pero igang ug sulaw sya. Dili nako bet ang lonewolf ug kana iya sister company kay murag lamukon ang vibe. Or anything na pareha ana ug style na coffee shop, pass lang. With that being said, menusan unta sa bowerbird ila flowers. Hahaha lainan ko sa baho.
