Is it true that even at home, using the Dr.Pen, let’s say the most extreme level which is 12 pin, we can only do it once every 3 weeks because I just saw a “can’t unsee” statement which is if we do it every week it will break the new collagen bonds that are being being generated.
Can some dermatologist or doctors actually confirm if this is true, cuz I swear I saw one YouTuber say she does non extreme at home micro needling every week. Which collagen do you use and why? Besides taste and price, I'm interested in hearing benefits you've observed with one but not the others... Or perhaps you ditched powders and liquids entirely and are using a different form of collagen, maybe peptides? Joyburst Protein Soda, don't be fooled
These protein sodas use collagen peptides as part of the protein source, collagen peptides do nothing for building muscle because it is not a complete protein like whey. Whey isolate is listed after collagen peptides in the ingredients list so this is at most about 14g of usable protein or less. There are benefits to consuming collagen protein but if you're someone like me who is looking for the most complete protein for the calories then this is misleading. submitted by /u/unseamingcarrot to r/Costco [link] [comments]

How fast everything changed after menopause because nobody warned me
I feel like I was reasonably prepared for menopause...hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood stuff. fine. If this is part of being a grown woman, so be it. I had read things I had mentally braced. Nobody told me about the skin! I went through menopause at 48. Within about a year my skin had changed in ways that took me completely off guard. The texture got rough almost overnight, like the smooth quality i'd had my whole life just peaced out without saying goodbye. The firmness in my lower face and neck dropped noticeably. The hollowness under my eyes got worse. not tired-looking, actually hollow. It's better in my bathroom lighting, but that's not where most people see me! And the thing that got me is that it's not really aging in the normal gradual sense. it's specifically the estrogen crash. Estrogen is directly tied to collagen production and when it drops you lose collagen fast, like up to 30% in the first few years. that's not a slow fade. that's a cliff. I'm not looking for embrace your age responses because I actually do feel mostly great about aging. What I didn't feel ok about was how sudden and disorienting it was. Like I didn't recognize my own face for a while, and that's a strange thing to go through. Curious what everyone else experienced in those first 1-2 years post menopause. Did it feel sudden to you or more gradual? and has anything genuinely helped with the texture and firmness side of it specifically,? Asking for honest experiences please. Edit: I didn't expect such a response! Thanks a lot! Going through all the comments and they are def very useful. submitted by /u/stephydreamer to r/45PlusSkincare [link] [comments]

Runners - Do you use collagen?
I’m curious about the knowledge and use of collagen in the running community. The research is growing about the benefits of collagen to support joints and ligaments. An umbrella study published in January found that it helps with joint support and tendon structure when used consistently over time. I know there are runners using and benefiting from collagen but I’m curious whether the advantages of using it are now fairly well known in the running community (or not)? Do you use it to support your running? If not, why? submitted by /u/LizRebelRuns to r/UKRunners [link] [comments]

Takes forever, but gets better. Trust the process.
Now vs. Then (September 2024) I've had oily, acne-prone skin with plenty of hyperpigmentation since I was a teen. But it was mostly hormonal acne, and it was never anything like that second image. That was some kind of infection that I think I got from swimming in very unclean water. At first, I spent like a month using overly harsh cleansers and actives, washing my face too often, not eating in a way that could help my body fight the infection off, not drinking NEARLY enough water for the healing I wanted to achieve, and basically just making everything even worse. Then, when I finally saw a dermatologist, I was initially given doxycyline and clindamycin, but I was NOT making the best of it. I was playing around eating a bunch of dairy still, not putting on sunscreen (and not re-applying often enough when I remembered to), and still using harsh facewash and toners because I thought they would help (spoiler: they did not). So it felt like I just kept applying and applying for like three months and not seeing any sort of improvement. I was literally living my entire life outside with one of those covid masks on every single day because I hated the thought of being seen so much, and yet I still wasn't doing the best for myself. Thankfully, I ran across a youtube video about "things you don't realize are hurting your skin" and actually listened to it properly for once, then did a bunch of research (though I still made mistakes ngl) and changed my habits. This is a list of steps I took (copied from my reply to a different post): I used a clean cotton shirt on top of my pillow case and changed it literally every night because the oil and bacteria leftover plus my hair products were just too much for my skin to fight I tried to drink at least 10 glasses of water with a day, more if I could (like I literally used alarms on my phone to remind me) I used benozyl peroxide 10% face wash every morning (\NOTE* - this was one of the mistakes! Apparently I should've been using it only at night!)* (ask your dermatologist first, sometimes there are combined benozyl peroxide+tretinoin creams you can use instead, but using them as separate products might require only using one in the morning or something, it depends) and only the cerave gentle cleanser at night I bought hydrocolloid bandages and cut them to fit specific parts of my face and used them every day, at home and under a mask when outside, sometimes even changing them two or three times a day (these are the big version of acne patches) I used sunscreen (SPF 50 PA++++, I use a Korean brand called singmulnara/식물나라) daily and reapplied regularly even tho it felt greasy and just un-fun sometimes I cut down my dairy and sugar consumption to as little as my happiness could tolerate I started taking bromelain supplements because they're anti-inflammatory I didn't use any exfoliating actives or physical exfoliation until like eight months in when my skin was a lot better I only moisturized with cerave, sometimes with a drop or two of a niacinimide and cica serum in my hand before I applied it Those are the main steps that made a HUGE change in the initial healing, and after around four months of this, my dermatologist put me onto a low dosage isotretinoin (10mg, twice a day) that did some serious heavy lifting in getting rid of the last of the acne. There were a few times long after the initial "purge" worsening period when I'd just get a huge cyst overnight seemingly, but I was able to go in for steroid injections directly into the pimple that just magicked them away within a few hours (and yes, it was absolutely mind-blowing every single time), or other times I put a tiny bit of the paula's choice benozyl peroxide gel directly onto it as soon as I noticed it forming and that usually made it go away. I just finished with the isotretinoin at the end of January. My current routine: Day: Cleanser: Cerave Gentle Cleanser Toner: ROUND LAB 1025 Dokdo Toner Serum: I rotate through these - APLB Glutathione Niacinimide, APLB AHA BHA PHA Centella, APLB Kojic Avid and Vitamin C (note: I currently live in Korea so these are more convenient, but when I go back I will be using Medicube serums if I can't get them probably) Moisturizer: Cerave Moisturizing Cream (in the tub) - I use a plastic makeup scoop instead of my hands to get a bit out and drop the serum into it Sunscreen: Singmulnara Light Watery Sun Gel (note: I will probably switch to ROUND LAB when I get back to America, I am fully convinced by Korean skincare at this point) Night: Cleanser: ROUND LAB 1025 Dokdo Cleansing Oil, then Cerave Acne Foaming Wash (10% Benozyl Peroxide) Toner: ROUND LAB 1025 Dokdo Toner >> I always do a Face Mask at night (yes every night) for 10~15 minutes, just any random one from those bulk face mask packages (like the Dermal ones) with the occasional premium one from Medicube Serum: the same ones I rotate through in the morning, as above Moisturizer: Cerave Moisturizing Cream (with serum mixed in) Random Other Things: I still drink hella water, and I still change my pillowcase frequently (and my towels, I have a separate one only for my face and I never re-use them after I shower, I'm like traumatized or something tbh). I still take the bromelain, but I'm probably gonna stop when this bottle runs out. I take collagen supplements in the morning. Sometimes I smear my whole face with a thin layer of aquaphor at night if I feel dried out for some reason. Also I keep my face masks in the fridge because the freezing cold mask after a hot shower is supposed to be good, and it does make my nose less red for a while. And I use a pimple patch the moment I see even a tiny dot of red anywhere on my face, even if it hasn't even itched yet, because why risk it??? But yeah. This is just to share progress, and to say that it does get better and you can overcome your acne, but it may take some lifestyle changes and it DEFINITELY takes a lot of consistency and actually listening to medical advice. And... A hella long time. submitted by /u/sinkintothesea to r/Blackskincare [link] [comments]

I cannot believe the difference from 24 days ago thanks to asking for advice!
I came asking for help with all the fine lines on my face and you guys delivered! I didn’t realize just how dehydrated my face was and that I was due for some changes in routine. I wasn’t expecting my skin to change so much already (I’m 33) but clearly I needed some changes! I’m so thankful for this group 🤍 New routine: So I cleanse at night only and then I do all the other steps both morning and night. At night I’ve been slugging with aquaphor but I’ve gone down to only 2-3 days a week for that now. La roche posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser for Dry Skin Milky toner from Paula’s choice The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum with Ceramides Then at night for moisturizer I’m using CALM Rescue & Repair Intensive Moisturizer Paula’s choice Morning moisturizer is Pro-Collagen Peptide Plumping Moisturizer I use DRMTGLY tinted moisturizer with spf but it’s been pilling lately with the new changes so I think I’m going to be on the hunt for another one. Id like to work retinol back in eventually but I’m scared because I think that was one of the products that messed up my barrier in the first place 🤷🏻‍♀️ submitted by /u/weddingaccount060417 to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

The term “bone broth” irritates me
I’ve loved making my own homemade stock for the taste and health benefits. I read the article “Broth is Beautiful” by Sally Fallon for the first time around the year 2010 when I was in college. That article came out in the year 2000, and the health benefits of gelatin and collagen found in homemade stock have been known for decades. But over the past 5 - 10 years, with the mainstream consumers suddenly becoming aware of the benefits, the term “bone broth” was developed to market the product. This term came about because grocery stores were already selling “stock,” but it wasn’t really stock like you get when you make it at home with bones. But when real stock made from bones and containing gelatin came into the market, they couldn’t just call it “stock.” So to avoid the confusion and make it more marketable, they called it “bone broth.” So now, the word “stock” just doesn’t carry the same meaning in most people’s minds. It’s really annoying that I can no longer use the word like I used to because no one understands. submitted by /u/EllyCamp to r/Cooking [link] [comments]

Rosacea symptoms vanished in two weeks after using collagen peptides and vitamin c
Hi. Was diagnosed with rosacea 7 years ago. Nothing ever worked. Cold always triggered a major months-long breakout. Dermatologist was always useless, "There's no definitive cure, but this cream will manage the symptoms," etc. Tried collagen peptides a month ago, the powder where you add a scoop to water, and vitamin C (1000mg), from the natural food store and all signs of rosacea completely vanished in about two-weeks. Just wanted to share in case it works for you. submitted by /u/DfR8_808 to r/Rosacea [link] [comments]

Crown Christmas Miracle: Back From the Dead 💀
7 month update here. I started my full hair stack on June 1 2025 and I’ve stayed really consistent, so I wanted to show where things are at now. It’s been a rough year overall with the divorce and then a car accident where someone slammed into the side of my car, so I’ve just been trying to level up a bit and take care of myself, one thing at a time. For the photos, the top shot is before treatment in late May 2025, and the bottom shot is from the end of December 2025. Same spot and same lighting. The thin patch has shrunk a lot and the coverage looks way more natural now. If I only saw the after, I honestly wouldn’t think thinning right away. I have been able to stop using Hair Fibres which is a huge relief for me. My current stack is oral minoxidil 5 mg daily split AM and PM, oral dutasteride 0.5 mg daily, topical 5 percent minoxidil twice a day, microneedling with a 0.5 mm roller a couple times a week and a 1.5 mm stamp once a week, Nizoral 2 percent three to four times a week with Head and Shoulders on the off days, plus some support stuff like vitamins A B C D E, collagen, silica, MSM, iron, zinc, biotin, omega 3, saw palmetto, topical keratin and panthenol products, a weekly hair mask, and sometimes caffeine melatonin or peptide serums, and silk pillowcases. Results so far are pretty crazy to me. The crown looks way thicker, and overall my hair just looks healthier and darker. Side effects have been super mild, basically just a couple forehead pimples. Everything else is chill. I’m only about 7 months in and I’m pretty pumped about where it’s heading, especially the crown. When I line the pics up side by side it feels kinda dramatic. Plan is to just stay consistent and keep going. If anyone has questions I’m happy to help. Good luck to everyone fighting this battle, gents. 💪 submitted by /u/Dry-Adhesiveness4136 to r/tressless [link] [comments]

AITA for not wanting our friend to ever come back to our house after he ate literally everything we owned?
My husband and I live abroad. Earlier this year, a mutual acquaintance (let’s call him “K”) reached out saying he’d been scammed with an apartment rental and had nowhere to stay. At first, we only offered a weekend, but he was polite, helped around the house, and seemed grateful, so we ended up letting him stay the full 20 days he’d asked for. During that time, some things rubbed us the wrong way. He never bought groceries, and multiple times he pretended he was going to pay but “forgot his wallet” or claimed he could only use Apple Pay (not accepted at our local supermarket). He’d eat way more than his share (once my husband and I shared half a pizza and he ate the other pizza and a half without contributing). Still, we felt bad for him, so we let it go. We stayed friendly, and a few months later we were planning a 17-day trip. Since he was struggling with rent, we offered him to stay at our place in exchange for taking care of our dog. I even wrote a Google Doc with instructions for the house, dog care, gym access, etc. I told him he could eat anything that was going to expire (fruit, veggies, yogurt, etc.). When we came back… EVERYTHING was gone. And I mean everything. The entire fridge, freezer, pantry. He finished two jars of jam, a jar of peanut butter, a giant Costco bottle of olive oil, condiments, rice, snacks, cheese, even my husband’s supplements (creatine, protein, collagen). He completely destroyed a ceramic pan. He consumed things that usually last us six months in just 2 weeks. I honestly suspect he might have taken stuff with him because it’s insane how much was missing. I didn’t confront him except to ask him to replace the pan, which he mocked me about (“it’s just a pan, why are you making it a big deal?”). I felt deeply disrespected. Now he keeps texting me, acting like nothing happened, and wants to hang out. I told my husband I don’t want him in our home ever again. My husband says I’m being too harsh, and if he wants to stay friends, that’s his choice, but I feel completely taken advantage of and disrespected. So… AITA for not wanting to see this guy ever again and refusing to let him come back to our house? submitted by /u/Capable_Candy6712 to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]

After 25 years as an Executive Chef, here's what most people get wrong about heat management
I spent decades in professional kitchens before diving deep into BBQ and live-fire cooking. The biggest difference between amateur and professional results isn't the equipment - it's understanding how heat actually works. The Two-Zone Myth Everyone talks about two-zone cooking like it's revolutionary. In reality, you need to think in gradients. Your grill doesn't have two temperatures - it has dozens. That "cool zone" near the edge? It's perfect for holding. The spot directly between your hot and cold zones? That's where magic happens for reverse searing. Map your entire cooking surface with an IR thermometer sometime. You'll never cook the same way again. Recovery Time Is Cooking Time In restaurants, we never served meat straight off heat. That 10-minute rest isn't just for juices - it's actual cooking time. Your brisket's internal temp can climb 10°F after you pull it. Most overcooked BBQ wasn't ruined on the grill - it was ruined on the cutting board. Pull your meat 5-10 degrees early and let carryover finish the job. Your Lid Is Not Your Friend "If you're looking, you're not cooking" is terrible advice. Professional cooking is about active management. Yes, opening the lid drops temperature, but blind cooking leads to disasters. Learn to work fast - lid up, rotate/check/spritz, lid down. Total time: 15 seconds. Your fire recovers faster than overcooking does. Fire Management vs Temperature Chasing Stop chasing exact temperatures. I watch guys panic because they're at 235°F instead of 225°F. Meanwhile, their fire is producing dirty smoke because they're choking airflow to hit a number. Clean combustion beats perfect temps every time. I'd rather cook at 275°F with thin blue smoke than 225°F with white billowing clouds. The Stall Is Your Friend Everyone fights the stall with wrapping, cranking heat, or panic. In professional kitchens, we call this "the plateau" and it's when collagen converts to gelatin. Fighting it means missing the transformation. Plan for it, embrace it, use it to develop bark. Your meat is literally tenderizing itself - why rush that? Been applying restaurant technique to BBQ for years now through NY BBQ Guys. Happy to answer any questions about heat management, equipment, or translating professional techniques to backyard cooking. Blown away by the response! Working through all comments. My skin before and after starting a skin care routine. 39 years old vs 41 years old. My sun spot disappeared.
I recently noticed that the sun spot I had on my cheek bone vanished. I use a retinol moisturizer most mornings, a collagen face mask once or twice a week, as well as red light therapy once and sometimes twice a week. submitted by /u/Filthy_NeckBeard to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

Anyone else using collagen powder and pleasantly surprised? Please share what's making a difference for you in how you feel
I'm 60 so I'm at the low end of the age range here but I started taking collagen powder out of desperation 6 wks ago due to agonizing pain in my hips. I have had these weird episodes where it will flair up and go for a few days to a week, it hurts to sit, lay, stand etc. Nothing helps. I've had lab work and I'm healthy on paper been to the ortho MD and nothing major is wrong but oh the discomfort. I've had joint issues for years due to the physical nature of my job as a rehab therapist. I went to a new rheumatologist recently as I never felt heard by previous Dr's so figured I'd try one more time. I had to wait two months for the appt but in the meantime I started taking the collagen powder along with two other joint supplements which I figured couldn't hurt. By the time I had the appt the pain was about 80 percent less. The reason why I mention the collagen is because two weeks in I noticed I wasn't in agony anymore, just sore. Now 6 wks in, the pain is completely gone. I'm so much less creaky in general. My hair is sprouting baby hairs at my temples where it had gotten thinner and my nails feel sturdier. I'm a woman and always had very thick healthy hair but it became less lustrous and more brittle compared to what it was as I got older. My gut also feels less feisty. I have more energy. I'm sleeping better. I expected none of this I was just taking for my joint pain thinking it prob wouldn't do a thing. I hope this lasts because it has been nothing short of a miracle. Adding, I've also had miraculous experiences with using NAC (eliminated pain completely for lower back issues but I have to cycle on and off it and the effect isn't permanent) and a wonderful CBD cream I have used for my back and my bf uses for his ankle and it totally works despite me trying other creams with no success. I guess it's a total crap shoot as to what will help and what won't. I prefer to avoid prescriptions if I can so I'm always looking for natural solutions if possible. Can you share what are you using that makes a difference for you as far as quality of life? I exercise regularly and do not drink alcohol or smoke and never have so I'm sure that has helped as well. I'm curious to hear what others find helpful! submitted by /u/Magari22 to r/over60 [link] [comments]

[Review] AXIS-Y Vegan Collagen Eye Serum — My honest thoughts after weeks of use
So I’ve been using the AXIS-Y Vegan Collagen Eye Serum for a few weeks now, and here’s the real tea ☕: ✔️ Dark circles? Way less noticeable. I didn’t expect huge results, but the improvement is real. My under-eye area looks brighter and healthier — not like I just pulled an all-nighter. ✔️ Fine lines? Softer and smoother. This serum has visibly smoothed out the fine lines around my eyes. It doesn’t erase them (let’s be real), but it definitely makes them look less harsh. ✔️ The metal applicator = genius. The cooling effect from the metal tip is incredibly soothing. It de-puffs the eyes and makes the whole application feel like a little spa moment 💆‍♀️. ✔️ Texture & formula? Light and layers well. It absorbs quickly, doesn’t pill under makeup, and doesn’t leave a sticky or greasy feeling. Vegan collagen + hyaluronic acid + peptides — yes, please! 🌿 Bonus: Clean formula, cruelty-free, and gentle on my sensitive skin. Verdict: Highly recommend if you're dealing with dull under-eyes, early fine lines, or just want something calming in your routine. Definitely staying in my skincare lineup. submitted by /u/rawan170 to r/koreanskincare [link] [comments]

Tip: Use gelatin instead of expensive collagen supplements for skin benefits
Gelatin is much easier to incorporate in things like coffee, soups, or sauces. It's also tasteless and much cheaper. Their nutritional profiles are essentially the same. And if you make bone broth (I make it weekly) and add some while it's cooking, you can just have a cup of it every morning. Bone broth should jiggle like soft Jello in your fridge, and melt into rich broth when heated. You can also make fruit juice gummies with gelatin, if you don't like having bone broth or coffee every day. Gelatin also helps contribute to your overall protein intake. This post brought to you by Big Gelatin (an enthusiastic consumer who likes to save money). Edit: That's it. That's the post. This worked for me. You should eat whole foods and gelatin-rich broths with vitamins and minerals. Try to eat it every day. Add gelatin. It's way more enjoyable than spending $200/month. If you don't want to, that's cool. submitted by /u/prettytheft to r/30PlusSkinCare [link] [comments]

I exposed my aunt after she claimed I was faking my disability for attention. She then ends up attacking me and putting me in hospital.
Some backstory is needed to fully understand my situation, and a TL;DR will be at the bottom. Also, my apologies for any spelling or grammar mistakes, as I’m not a native English speaker. I (31F) was born with a severe genetic disorder called EDS, hypermobility type. The illness varies greatly from person to person; most can lead relatively normal lives with some pain and problems. EDS is essentially a group of disorders caused by defective collagen in the body. This results in a host of issues, including: Joint hypermobility, which causes joints to be so loose and unstable that they dislocate or subluxate (partially dislocate) constantly. Severe joint and soft tissue pain due to the constant dislocations and the resulting damage to the joints, among other things. Extreme chronic fatigue. Skin that bruises easily and, in thin areas, can even tear. Dizziness when standing up because my blood pressure drops rapidly. About 11 years ago, my disorder worsened significantly, and I was forced to start using a wheelchair to get around, as walking more than 100 feet became extremely dangerous for me. The risk of falling due to a hip dislocation was high. In the last three years, I upgraded to an electric wheelchair because pushing a manual chair became too painful. For reasons I don’t fully understand, my aunt (54F) has an extreme dislike for disabled people, especially those in wheelchairs who can still move their legs. For 11 years, whenever we were alone, she treated me worse than a dog and insisted that my disorder was completely fake and made up. She claimed I was lying about it because I wanted all the attention focused on me, believing I was jealous of anyone else receiving attention, especially her. I tried to confront her about it and talk things out, but since I was already overwhelmed by my condition, I ended up keeping her comments to myself. Since I’m not confrontational and don’t see her often throughout the year, I didn’t want to burden anyone with it, especially as I already had to ask for so much help from the people around me, and my parents were exhausted from all the doctor’s visits during that time. So, for the past 11 years, I’ve just ignored every comment she made when we were alone because I had grown accustomed to it. I absolutely didn’t care what she thought at this point and knew she was just being an idiot. That was until things really escalated last week when I went to visit my aunt for our yearly family dinner. She was the one who organized the dinner this year. All was going well until she drank more than usual and became a lot snarkier toward me in front of the family. This caused some family members to call her out and tell her it was inappropriate and uncalled for. She silently fumed, giving me death stares afterward. My parents noticed this and kept an eye on her. Unfortunately, at some point, I went into the kitchen on the other side of the house to take a break from my aunt’s stares and take my medication in private. My aunt followed me into the kitchen and closed the door behind her. I knew this wasn’t good since she was clearly intoxicated, so I discreetly started recording the incident on my phone. Since the door was closed, and we were far from the others, with many people talking loudly in the other room, no one could hear us, even if I screamed. My aunt began asking if I was enjoying being an attention hog and ruining her dinner by humiliating her. I slowly tried to maneuver my wheelchair toward the door while apologizing, telling her that wasn’t my intention. At that point, I tried to say what she wanted to hear so I could get to safety. She started raising her voice, accusing me of being jealous of her success and faking my disorder out of laziness. She began calling me every name in the book, yelling nonsense at me. I started to think she might be having a mental breakdown and began crying, pleading with her to let me go. Realizing I needed to get out of there, I decided I couldn’t do so in my chair, so I tried to get out of it. Unfortunately, she turned violent and pushed me back into the chair hard. She screamed that she wasn’t done yet and that liars like me needed to be taught a lesson. She started hitting me in the face as hard as she could, which dislocated my jaw. Then she tried to pull me out of the chair, dislocating my arm, but I fought back, so she failed. She then somehow managed to push my chair over on its side, causing my foot to get stuck behind the footrest. Luckily, my dad, noticing my absence and that my aunt was also gone, became concerned and began searching for me. My father later told me I let out such a blood-curdling scream that it was audible throughout the entire dining room, prompting him and my mom to sprint toward the sound. At this point, I was starting to lose consciousness from the pain. I remember my dad bursting through the door. From what I was told, my dad body-slammed my aunt (his younger sister) and punched her to make sure she stayed down. My mom screamed for someone to call 911, which my nephew did immediately. My mom then got me free from the wheelchair and tried to recall her first aid training. Meanwhile, my dad pinned my aunt to the floor while my aunt’s husband stood there in complete shock, not knowing what to do. The police and ambulance arrived, and they put my aunt in cuffs. She screamed at my dad, asking how he dared to lay hands on a woman, no less his sister. My uncle then tried to defend my aunt, claiming they didn’t know what had happened and that I could have tipped over myself after trying to attack her. He insisted his wife would never do something like this and that it had to be provoked. He apparently said much worse things, but my parents won’t specify what exactly. I regained consciousness at this point, likely due to receiving some strong pain medication. It’s still a blur because the medication left me disoriented. I was taken away by the ambulance while my aunt was taken to jail. At the hospital, I was found to have multiple fractured ribs, a dislocated arm, and a dislocated jaw. I also suffered a concussion from the punches, but the worst damage was to my foot, which turned out to be broken. I also have cuts and scrapes everywhere because my skin is so fragile. Fortunately, the injuries weren’t severe enough to require surgery, but with my disorder, it will take at least 10 weeks in a cast, followed by physical therapy, although my ankle will likely be permanently damaged. I feel guilty for ruining someone’s life I’ve gotten multiple voice mails from different numbers with her screaming how I ruined her life and probably their finances after this. My uncle is trying to save his own reputation by sticking to my aunts side but that’s short lived since he wants a divorce. A few family members and them are making me doubt if i’ve done something wrong here so that’s why I’m asking if I’m the a-hole. I’m putting this in afterwards because its somehow got deleted but I ended up sharing the footage on a private group page for our family for the whole family to see but it might’ve been wrong but seeing the reactions it was probably the right thing. After that sh*t hit the fan for her so that’s why she’s even more angry. Edit: Allot of people don’t understand that when you’re badly disabled at least in my case that people will constantly tell you, you’re at fault for things. That plus past traumatic experiences have made it really difficult for me to even stand up for myself, or know when I’m truly at fault for things. It’s hard for me to discern when people are just trying to basically gaslight me into believing I’m the cause of the issue. So I hope people will understand a bit better why my mind makes me think I might be at fault for these things. Also edited in the last paragraph because somehow it disappeared so I’ll type it again. For some of the questions - yes we’re getting a restraining order and pressing charges. The thought of her coming after me is too much. - For people wondering how I was given pain meds when I wasn’t concious. As I said I THINK i regained it due to pain meds but I don’t remember allot of what happened due to the pain but i’ll ask my parents when I got the meds. My parents are reluctant to talk about how they found me and what happened because they’d rather have those memories buried instead of haunting me. - The footage was handed over to the police and is backed up on multiple platforms -I’m currently thinking i’m going to sue since I have insurance that covers legal costs for me. TL;DR: My aunt ended up putting me in hospital and severely injuring me because she thinks i’m faking my genetic disorder to get attention. I recorded the whole attack and put it online after they tried to say i’m lying and I attacked her. Now everyone in our family has gone no contact even her church. Her husband wants to divorce her so she’s IATAH for posting it online and ruining her life. submitted by /u/Myrniel_Arisato to r/AITAH [link] [comments]
