Week 20: Jams & Jellies - Protein/creatine gummies
I've been wanting to try making something like this for a little while now, so this theme was perfect! The green ones are sour apple flavoured and the orange ones are peach iced tea. My initial attempt at this failed miserably (final picture). It may look fine, but they were flavourless and gritty and all the creatine (which doesn't dissolve well) sank to the bottom of the mold/top of the Lego brick. It was like eating sand in jell-o. Pretty awful! So for my next attempt(s) I decided to change course a little. First, I used apple juice as the base instead of just plain water. The protein powder I used was already sour apple flavour (clear whey protein), but it just wasn't strong enough. Similarly I used actual peach iced tea for the peach iced tea one (which uses peach iced tea flavour clear whey). Secondly I kept stirring the gelatin mix for much longer after adding the creatine so that the mixture had already started to thicken considerably before pouring in the mold. This worked a treat, because the creatine stayed better suspended in the gelatin. The clear whey does tend to foam when stirred, so as you can see there is a discolored gelatinized foam on the bottom of the gummies, which is strange but not unpleasant! I don't think I'll make these again. Portions are hard to measure and the process is kind of messy. submitted by /u/Druyv to r/52weeksofcooking [link] [comments]

I take my vitamins!!!
I’m new to this sub so I’m not sure how y’all feel about “life hack” posts but as a vegetarian and an utter scatterbrain who forgets to eat for days at a time (and then devours a family-sized lasagna 30 minutes before bed when I finally realize I’m starving), I often struggle to meet all of my basic nutritional needs. I also have an autoimmune skin condition (psoriasis) so vitamin D and E and my omegas are especially vital (and extra yucky in pill form). I hate swallowing giant pills but I LOVE fruit snacks (lol) and one day when I was trying to find a gummy version of a teen multivitamin for my kids so that THEY would keep taking them, I discovered that EVERYTHING comes in gummy form now!! So now my partner brings me a tiny bowl of treats every afternoon and I am finally experiencing the benefits of stable, adequate vitamin supplementation. I’m so happy! I try not to eat a lot of sweets in general, so this is such a fun way to gain consistency and feel like I’m “treating” myself too. I am sharing here in case it might help someone else as much as it helps me! Also my bestie who is a fellow adhd girlie got me a tub of creatine powder that dissolves in water and my partner adds that to my mason jar of electrolytes every morning and afternoon (another hack for the chronically dehydrated, maybe?) and that has been a game changer too. Anyway, like I said, I’m new to this community so please share your other food/nutrition hacks! And also if this gummy vitamin thing is already a common topic here please accept my apologies. I’m just excited, haha. submitted by /u/StellaNettle to r/adhdwomen [link] [comments]

Ekkovision Creatine Gummies
So I decided to look at the third party testing results for Ekkovision creatine gummies, because they advertise that they are third party tested so I was looking at maybe trying them. The problem is I'm either reading this wrong or all of these test results are saying there is 6g of creatine in a test sample of 4.6g, which would be impossible. I was reading on creatine gummies, apparently the dosage can be inaccurate in gummies and the efficacy can get compromised in the manufacturing process. I would assume it would be the same for collagen gummies too. As much as possible I try to use the powder, much cleaner IMO.

Which Creatine Gummies Are Actually Legit? COAs / 3rd Party Tests included
Wild Gainz - Here are the Eurofins Lab Results: Transparent and easy to access third-party results, which most brands don’t share. 2 flavors (lemon & Strawberry), which tastes great. Imagine candy but with a slight aftertaste from the creatine. Lemon taste like lemonheads and strawberry is like a sour strap, but not as sour. Price is competitive. Bear Balanced - COA not public: Respect for being one of the first brands in the space, and they’ve passed NSF/Now Foods testing before. Still, odd that they don’t share COAs directly. Taste is decent but a bit grainy. Price is high, though professional athletes may value the NSF Sport certification. Legion - COA available: Wide range of flavors and they post lab results via Labdoor (reputable testing), would prefer Eurofins though. Haven’t personally tried them, but pricing is lower than Bear Balanced/Try Create. Try Create - COA partially redacted: They appear to use Eurofins testing but removed the Eurofins logo and sign-off, which feels unusual. Taste is solid, lots of flavors, but definitely expensive compared to others. Right now, Wild Gainz stands out for transparency, taste & price. Legion looks strong on flavor variety and public testing, Bear Balanced is good for NSF compliance, and Try Create is tasty but pricey with questionable COA presentation. Drop other brands in the comments - we’ll keep adding to this list. submitted by /u/suzidjekslztz to r/RealCreatineGummies [link] [comments]

How to Tell If Your Creatine Gummy Is Real or Just Candy
https://preview.redd.it/xc5ppmo3phlf1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=d226940fbc641fce4c0c7b769475a2ff36055d77 Let’s talk about how to separate legit creatine gummies from the candy impostors. Here’s a science-based checklist to help you spot fakes or at least the ones that might leave you with a sugar rush instead of gains: See-Through Gummies? Probably No Real Creatine Creatine monohydrate is inherently a white, crystalline powder that’s poorly soluble in gummies. If your gummy is completely clear or translucent—like a candy bear—it’s likely underdosed, using a different unlisted form, or contains no creatine at all. 2. Texture and Grit Matter Authentic creatine gummies usually have a subtle graininess—creatine isn’t smooth or silky. If the gummy is overly smooth and sweet with zero texture, it may be hiding low (or no) creatine content. 3. Weight vs Dose: Check If It’s Even Possible A properly formulated gummy that delivers 1 g of creatine generally weighs around 3–4 grams, thanks to the crystallized volume. If the gummy is lighter yet claims high doses, that’s a major red flag. 4. Is There Any Heat or Moisture Damage? Creatine degrades into creatinine when exposed to heat, moisture, or acidic environments—common in poorly manufactured gummies. If a gummy feels soft, wet, or overly jelly-like, the creatine might have already degraded or most likely never had creatine in there to begin with. 5. Demand Lab Tests, COAs & Transparent Sourcing Legitimate brands often provide third-party Certificates of Analysis (COAs) along with transparency around manufacturing—NSF, GMP compliance, batch tracking, etc. Without this, you’re only trusting marketing, not data. 6. Independent Testing Doesn’t Lie SuppCo lab tests found that 4 out of 6 popular gummies sold on Amazon contained almost no creatine—one brand had just 0.005 g per serving instead of 5 g. NOW Foods tested 12 brands—almost half failed to meet label claims, with evidence of creatine breakdown. UK testing showed some gummies had only 0.084 g per piece versus the claimed 1.5 g—so you’d need 50+ gummies daily for a 5 g dose. What To Do If You Suspect Something’s Off? Drop a photo of the label, packaging, or a link to the site. Let the community help dig into it or vote on whether it passes the checks. Reddit, let’s raise the bar and call out the candy posing as supplements. Post your findings below! submitted by /u/suzidjekslztz to r/RealCreatineGummies [link] [comments]

PSA: Most creatine gummies (and likely many other supplements) contain little or none of the claimed ingredient
I'm sure a fair few people have seen some of the recent discussion around creatine gummies. Whilst I'm not a fan of 'influencers' generally, YouTuber James Smith has lab-tested a bunch of different brands of creatine gummies and found that some contain as little as 2% of the claimed creatine levels. He has published all the lab test results online for open access. Video summary - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gLVOGJpSpE Published lab results - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bcKJ3ZlsWeDOXbP7OM6E5BevRpcjSBpI I think the bigger lesson here isn't "avoid these brands" since its impossible to test and list every 'bad' brand for creatine, let alone all sports supplements - the lesson is more that you're likely wasting money buying ANY supplement from ANY brand if they don't batch test and publish lab results on their sites. There's a few brands who do this, and one way of finding them is to check that brand and product to see if they are "Informed Sport" certified. The certification is mainly to screen for banned substances, but has the secondary benefit that it gives reasonable assurance against failure to include claimed ingredients. Informed Sport - https://sport.wetestyoutrust.com/ I appreciate this isn't cycling-specific but I do think it is relevant enough to competitive cycling to post in this sub and useful information for the community. EDIT: Its probably worth tagging on to this that before even picking a brand, obviously checking the efficacy of a given supplement is a fairly necessary pre-condition. The best source that I've found for this is examine.com - you can look up a supplement in their database and there is a summary of all the research as to the efficacy of that supplement seen in studies, rating both the scale of effect and the degree of confidence each study provides. Example for creatine - https://examine.com/supplements/creatine/?show_conditions=true#examine-database submitted by /u/feedzone_specialist to r/Velo [link] [comments]

James Smith just ruined creatine gummies for me… now I’m side-eyeing my whey protein like it owes me money
Just watched this James Smith vid where he basically calls out creatine gummies for being a scam — claiming 3–5g of creatine but apparently most of them are rocking like… 2% of that. So yeah, we’re basically paying $40 for a placebo and a sugar hit. 🫠 👉 https://youtu.be/7gLVOGJpSpE?si=wMx03z4AxbrC70A6 Now I can’t help but wonder — is my beloved whey protein also full of lies and broken dreams? Are there actual labs or independent tests that check if what’s on the label is real? Like, are we really getting 25g of protein per scoop or just a delicious blend of hope and fairy dust? If anyone knows of sites, labs, or even shady PDFs in dark corners of the internet that verify this stuff, drop them here. Would love to know if my gains are real or if I’ve been sipping on expensive drywall mix. Much appreciated submitted by /u/Valuefordays to r/workout [link] [comments]

Creatine gummies; a gimmick?
Had a great response regarding creatine supplementation and wanted to see if the community had any substantial experience with gummies vs mono powder. It seems too good to be true, but does anyone have any experience they can share and or studies regarding the efficacy of the gummies? Maybe specific brands? TIA! submitted by /u/Legitimate-Space-279 to r/Supplements [link] [comments]

Do creatine gummies work?
Yes, I am aware that gummies cannot carry as much of any supplement, so it would require about 5 gummies to get 5mg. I am ok with this because creatine powder makes me extremely nauseous. I am willing to pay extra to avoid this. I assume the gummy would work the exact same right? Most brands have 1g of creatine in each gummy. submitted by /u/Ghostserpent to r/Supplements [link] [comments]
