Have any of you dealt with intestinal upset from creatine monohydrate and then solved it?
I had to switch to HCL because the monohydrate was causing intestinal problems. It was causing dehydration to the point that it was actually disrupting my vision. And you might not believe that's real, but I talked to my optometrist about it and they said yeah that's definitely possible. And of course I was taking it with a lot of water, but still having issues. But the monohydrate is the one that has a lot of supporting evidence... And it's quite a bit cheaper. I have a 365nn uv torch with a zwb2 filter(filters visible light) i use for gem materials. Got bored and was shining it on random objects. TL;DR: I have been taking 5g/day creatine for 3 years now and am now thinking to increase the per day dosage. After digging into 1000+ studies, I found some wild stuff about high-dose creatine for cognitive function. Single doses of ~20g can increase processing speed by 24.5% and the effects last 9 hours. Also, vegetarians respond ~2x better than meat-eaters. Full breakdown below with sources. Why I did this: I have been taking 5g/day creatine for 3 years now. Like most people, I took the standard "5g per day" advice and never questioned it. It worked fine for my training, but I kept seeing conflicting claims about creatine for brain function. So I started reading actual papers to figure out if I should increase my dosage. 3 months and 1000+ studies later, here are the findings that genuinely surprised me: The "5g for everyone" dose is based on old muscle research, not brain optimization Most dosing recommendations come from 1990s studies measuring muscle saturation. creatine isn't just for gym people and i wish someone told me this sooner
always thought creatine was a muscle building supplement that only gym bros took. i don't really work out consistently so i never considered it. then i read it actually helps with mental fatigue and brain fog because your brain uses a ton of energy. there's actual research on it improving cognitive function, especially if you're sleep deprived or doing a lot of mental work. started taking 5g a day (monohydrate). didn't notice anything for the first week or two. but after that i realized i wasn't hitting that afternoon wall where my brain just stops working. it actually helping me focus through the workday. no loading phase needed despite what some people say. but when i asked meetaugust, just 5g daily is okay. take it with food because it can upset your stomach if you don't. also drink more water because it pulls water into your muscles and you'll feel like shit if you're dehydrated. it's cheap, it's well researched, and it's not just for people who lift weights. probably the most underrated supplement for regular people who just want their brain to work better. submitted by /u/murthyk2003 to r/Supplements [link] [comments]

TSA security question
I’m flying to Tennessee soon for a vacation and I want to bring my creatine with me. I portioned out my daily amounts so I don’t have to bring a scale or scoop, but it looks suspiciously like coke. Online says to label it as creatine and it should be fine, but I just want to make sure I won’t run into any major delays or intense questioning. Anything else as effective as Creatine Monohydrate?
I started taking creatine, and this thing completely transformed me. I was able to lift 2 to 3x more weight in the gym with more stamina within 3 weeks, my muscles looks fuller, I gained weight (Im somewhat skinny so I'm happy) and not only that, I feel like I have better focus, a clearer mind, better sleep and even my face and skin started glowing cuz of the hydration, always woke up with a oily face and now that never happens. The only drawback I could find is that I sweat like a leaking water tank when it's hot and have to carry around a 2L water bottle like it's my baby. what mistakes should I avoid taking creatine monohydrate.

I mixed acai berry juice and creatine monohydrate. The glass exploded like a hand grenade. Can anyone explain?
As part of my muscle-building routine, I've been taking creatine monohydrate. I usually mix with dextrose and protein after a workout. On this day, I used acai juice, since it was convenient and I didn't have the others. I mixed it in a HEAVY glass tumbler, then set it on the counter while I cleaned up a random mess. About a minute or two later, I heard a sound much like a light bulb bursting. When I turned around, I saw that the glass had exploded, sending chunks of glass and juice flying in a near perfect circular shape. The diameter of the "explosion" was probably 8 feet.
