I take my vitamins!!!
I’m new to this sub so I’m not sure how y’all feel about “life hack” posts but as a vegetarian and an utter scatterbrain who forgets to eat for days at a time (and then devours a family-sized lasagna 30 minutes before bed when I finally realize I’m starving), I often struggle to meet all of my basic nutritional needs. I also have an autoimmune skin condition (psoriasis) so vitamin D and E and my omegas are especially vital (and extra yucky in pill form). I hate swallowing giant pills but I LOVE fruit snacks (lol) and one day when I was trying to find a gummy version of a teen multivitamin for my kids so that THEY would keep taking them, I discovered that EVERYTHING comes in gummy form now!! So now my partner brings me a tiny bowl of treats every afternoon and I am finally experiencing the benefits of stable, adequate vitamin supplementation. I’m so happy! I try not to eat a lot of sweets in general, so this is such a fun way to gain consistency and feel like I’m “treating” myself too. I am sharing here in case it might help someone else as much as it helps me! Also my bestie who is a fellow adhd girlie got me a tub of creatine powder that dissolves in water and my partner adds that to my mason jar of electrolytes every morning and afternoon (another hack for the chronically dehydrated, maybe?) and that has been a game changer too. Anyway, like I said, I’m new to this community so please share your other food/nutrition hacks! And also if this gummy vitamin thing is already a common topic here please accept my apologies. I’m just excited, haha. submitted by /u/StellaNettle to r/adhdwomen [link] [comments]

Creatine powder worth it or not?
Hey all, so I've been lifting regularly for a while and thinking about trying creatine powder. Mostly cause I keep hearing it helps with strength and recovery, but also see people saying it’s overrated or causes bloating? Would really like to try it out, but I'm worried about side effects. Anybody here experience any after taking creatine? Also do you take it daily or only on workout days? ETA: Thanks for all the replies guys. You all convinced me to give creatine a shot lol. If anyone's curious, I got a tub from Life extension (since a lot of you suggested to try clean creatine without any other chemicals). submitted by /u/Mirah-Tabino to r/beginnerfitness [link] [comments]

What actually qualifies as 'mansplaining'?
I'm in the office today and I was grabbing a drink in the kitchen when these two women were discussing supplements right next to me. One of them was talking about creatine and the other asked what that is. She said its basically a really strong protein powder, pretty much a legal steroid with no side effects. The other woman was like oh really? She was like yup, it's crazy that more people don't know about it. Now, anyone who knows anything about supplements knows she's talking out of her ass. I interjected politely and I said "Excuse me ladies, don't mean to interject but creatine is a performance enhancer, not a protein powder or steroid. It helps generate ATP/energy which helps with recovery and training performance. Definitely give it a try if you haven't". I was about to walk off and the lady who said all that nonsense said "thanks for the mansplaining but I think we're doing alright" and both of them just walked off. Idk I feel weird about it. Surely correcting straight up misinformation isn't mansplaining... is it? What if I did that to a man? Is that still mansplaining? What if a woman corrected my misinformation? Is that womansplaining? submitted by /u/Open_Address_2805 to r/AskMen [link] [comments]

Suddenly noticing the benefits of creatine after switching brands. Was I getting bad stuff?
I started taking creatine about 6 moths ago based on the many recommendations here. I purchased the Optimum Nutrition "micronized" creatine from Costco in-store, so I assumed I was getting good stuff. I didn't really notice the benefits, but I finished the bottle. Since then, Costco stopped carrying ON and started carrying Orgain, so I thought I'd give it a try. I immediately noticed that the products do not look the same. The ON creatine was grainy like a fine sand, but the Orgain is actual powder like flour. After a couple months of taking the Orgain, I am actually feeling the benefits. This begs the question, what the heck was I taking before? Is there a quality control issue with ON? Is it not real creatine, or was it just not micronized? Both brands claim to be micronized creatine monohydrate. Just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience. submitted by /u/Priest_of_Heathens to r/Biohackers [link] [comments]

Do people take creatine + protein powder if they are just doing bodyweight exercises?
Im trying to decide if adding creatine + protein powder is right for me. It will be my first time taking it so im going to get noob gains if they do help with muscles and brain fog. I mostly just walk, bike, everyday for 1 to 2hrs but i try to add yoga class every other day as well as doing some form of HIIT every other day like burpees for example. So im doing plenty of cardio but i dont have access to heavy weights mostly relying on 5lb dumbells and doing various mobility/stability movements. Also im not sure what compound to buy is creatine monohydrate what im supposed to get? Should i get whey protein or whey protein isolate, or organic pea protein? Can i take them both in the same smoothie 1x every morning to make consumption simple? submitted by /u/Additional-Mistake32 to r/bodyweightfitness [link] [comments]

What the fuck, Creatine.
I give up on this stuff. At first I tried powder form monohydrate and it just made me nauseous. Switched to HCL and it gave me severe brain fog. Thought it was just the initial reaction but it wouldn't go away after taking for several weeks, even just 1g. Switched back to monohydrate in pill form and holy hell one of the worst nights of my life, severe brain fog, insanely depressed and low energy and feelings of hopelessness. Thank god I'm better this morning. I've seen others have similar instances of these side effects but JFC nothing this bad. Has anyone gone through this? More importantly has anyone pushed through the side effects and continued to take any form of Creatine and they eventually go away? UPDATE 5/21: Based on feedback in the comments I figured I'd give Creapure a shot before giving up altogether. Bought a small tub of Fitness Labs German Creatine and after testing a small amount (prob about 1g) I had ZERO side effects. I added a regular sized scoop (5g) to my protein powder yesterday after upper body day and while I had a minimal amount of nausea it was nowhere near the nonsense I was dealing with up above. Figured I'd let everyone know who also experiences these side effects. I'll keep people posted if condition improves or gets worse but thanks everyone for the advice! UPDATE 7/1: I infrequently still get minor brain fog or depressive symptoms even on Creapure but again not nearly as bad as I was getting originally. I seem to not have any symptoms when taking it WITH my protein shake after strength training(usually add a scoop with my whey powder) so I'm sticking to that and not taking it outside of workout days. UPDATE 4/13/2026: I know nearly a year late but wanted to keep the post alive as several people have DMed me reporting similar issues and also sharing for awareness in general. None of my updates above mattered because I slowly crept back into getting aforementioned side effects. Even tried Thorne Creatine with Glycine, same thing. I'm actually taking a test tomorrow for MTHFR gene variants which could explain the intolerance (along with a couple other health related issues). Should know by next week because if either are present then we (most likely) have our answer. submitted by /u/mysliwiecmj to r/Supplements [link] [comments]
