Dappled willow very close to foundation
I read that it should be a minimum of 15 feet away but this looks like within 1 or 2 feet, so should I pull it out and not even bother with annual hard prunes (the roots are still large and constantly seeking moisture)? submitted by /u/Ddobro2 to r/landscaping [link] [comments]

These green insects have eaten away half my dappled willow tree
Can someone help me identify them and suggest extermination solutions? I have been taking care of that tree for so long and I dont want it to die. It started from the canopy and left side and now it they moved to the right side. They are hiding inside the pink flowers. submitted by /u/Sickhorse131 to r/Horticulture [link] [comments]

Dappled Willow Trees?
By chance, has anyone seen any dappled willow trees for sale at a good price in the bing area? I got a few about 5 years ago and they’ve worked out great for our back yard (they make a great privacy barrier). I’d like to get a few more but I’m having trouble finding them at a decent price. WW has them for $230, tioga gardens had them at $209, and Green Acres for $300. I have a spot that I’d prefer to put 3 more in and just looking to contain the cost a bit if possible. Lowe’s doesn’t have them this year and that’s where I got them closer to $100. Thanks. submitted by /u/KateThePharmer to r/Binghamton [link] [comments]

Issue with bush-dappled willow
Anyone know what could be causing the matter with this bush? It looked perfectly healthy just a few days ago. I was hoping it would take. submitted by /u/Dapitmoss24 to r/plantdoctor [link] [comments]

Issue with bush-dappled willow
Planted this Japanese dappled willow a year ago and has been thriving, or so I thought. All of a sudden it looks dry, leaves wilted. Haven’t changed anything with care. Any suggestions or idea what is the matter with it? submitted by /u/Dapitmoss24 to r/gardening [link] [comments]

Dappled Willow
I saw this while driving and had to turn around to get a photo. Seems it's a dappled willow from across the ocean? Pacific, WA This is my first spring living in the pacific northwest and it has been really something. Just passed a full year. I've also discovered rhododendrons and the many colors they come in. submitted by /u/RedditPosterOver9000 to r/plants [link] [comments]

Dappled Willow question
Our new house has this dappled willow bush. Is it too far established to “train” it to be a tree? Should I just prune it down a lot next spring instead to be a smaller bush? I’d prefer a tree but there’s so many small branches I’m not sure it’s possible at this point, I can’t really find a bigger “main” branch… We’re not very experienced landscapers so any insight helps! submitted by /u/Real_Aspect_4516 to r/landscaping [link] [comments]

Dappled Willow Issue
I recently trimmed all my dappled willows like I do every year (because they grow to be absolutely massive otherwise) and this one (of about twenty that I have) completely turned brown this week. Could it be disease? Did I prune it poorly? I pruned all the others the same way though with the same tools. Anything I can look at to see if it’ll grow new branches / leaves? It sits along the wetlands line of my yard and gets probably half sun/shade daily. It’s usually pretty damp back there, so I don’t think it’s a water issue. submitted by /u/_Dr-Tuna_ to r/plantclinic [link] [comments]

Dappled Willow turning yellow
Help! What is wrong with my dappled willow? It’s turning yellow underneath. We’ve had a few days of heavy rain so I don’t think it’s under watered but unsure. I planted this about 1 month ago in Ohio. Is it not getting enough sun? submitted by /u/Jaded_Maize_7575 to r/gardening [link] [comments]

Dappled Willow
My dappled willow that I bought last year at Home Depot has not leafed out yet. I’m thinking that “It’s dead, Jim”. It’s sending up suckers, but nothing from the graft. This tree was a replacement for one I purchased the year prior. Will third time be the charm? I really like the look, and I need an interesting tree in that size for the spot it is in. Maybe buy the next one from Bachman’s? What has been everyone’s experience with Dappled Willows? EDIT: it has been properly watered, and the soil has been amended and fed. The garden that it is in looks great- the tree, not so much. EDIT 2. The variety is zoned 4a. I live in 4b submitted by /u/mahamm42 to r/Minnesota_Gardening [link] [comments]

Dappled Willow is my favorite Underdog
Recently got the Underdogs bundle, and Dappled Willow was my biggest surprise. Grayed shades often look borderline unhealthy on me, but this grayed green feels like such a classy unique neutral. Also this is ONE COAT. Dappled Willow safe to trim?
I have a very content willow shrub next to my pathway and it needs reining in. Googling suggests that pruning should only be done early or late in the season, but that advice seems to be geared towards owners who are pruning to encourage growth. In my case, I just need it to be smaller/re-shaped. Will it harm the tree to prune it in August? Pics attached. submitted by /u/sushidestroyer to r/landscaping [link] [comments]

Dappled willow outta control
Looking for some advice and help, West Michigan. I have battled this dappled willow for years. It grows so fast and gets out of control rapidly. As you can see, it’s well above the 6 foot fence line. I am now disabled and not able to reach the top. Today 5/8/25, I just did a heavy trim underneath and took the hedge clippers as high as I could reach. I probably waited too long, but just know it’s due to my health situation. Any advice on how to handle this beast? Do you think it’s just too big for me to handle with my disabilities at this point and should we take it down? Thanks so much submitted by /u/Eclectickatfinds to r/gardening [link] [comments]

Dappled willow next to irrigation?
Title - if I plant some dappled willow along my fence line in the backyard, which also has sprinkler heads running down the boundary - will the roots grow into my lines? I'm a rookie with all of this stuff. House is only 2 years old. Surely these roots can't penetrate into a irrigation line??? Also how far from the foundation should they be? (Its a basement). I'm in Kentucky Hoping to do a few areas of privacy hedges with them. My backyard is a fishbowl submitted by /u/Even_Twist895 to r/gardening [link] [comments]
