Let me preface by saying i’m not some chocolate scholar or anything but i’ve had a good variety of chocolate and i can never bring myself to enjoy dark chocolate. i see many people saying that american dark chocolate isn’t good and i need to try other kinds, so i did and they still suck. and they sit there and talk about how it’s healthier… its chocolate. it’s candy. they make fun of people for liking milk chocolate because it has some sugar and flavor, meanwhile they sit there and chew on drywall. idk, i never knew there was chocolate snobs until i expressed that i didn’t care for dark chocolate-i thought that was reserved for wine. and i get that it’s an “acquired taste” but my point stands edit: after reading these comments, i have come to this realization… apparently i don’t like chocolate, i like sugar and milk. using critical thinking i have come to the conclusion that chocolate is nasty as hell and milk and sugar is good submitted by /u/Flat_Needleworker195 to r/chocolate [link] [comments]

i just ate a few pieces of dark chocolate 90% from lindt, and it was quite yummy. Over a week ago I made this thread. Well, I received my results. I'm just putting this thread out there for scientific proof that can help alleviate any worries for those who might've been worried about their chocolate consumption, as I was. For over a year straight, I had eaten 85-90% dark chocolate, sometimes 40g or more, per day, and I was worried about heavy metal contamination. I tested for cadmium and lead, the two most prevalent heavy metals in dark chocolate. My test results are as follows: Results were lead 2.04 mcg/DL with the safe limit being under 70. Should I be worried about lead exposure? I am I screwed for what I've done the past year? My morning routine consists of no coffee, but rather black tea and 60-80g of 90% lindt dark chocolate followed by an intense workout. If it makes a difference I'm in Europe so I hope the lead contamination is less. Only recently did I research that dark chocolate can have high levels of lead and now I'm worried to be honest - I knew my calorie/sat. fat intake was quite high but I justified it because it makes me feel really happy and get a good workout routine in. So I'll cut down my chocolate exposure to 4 squares a day, more like 30g, but can anyone help me or offer me console if I gave/am giving myself lead exposure?
