Dog Car Seat

I was on a fairly empty bus a few weeks ago (I know, but the car has just broken down) when a young girl sat next to me. Wouldn't have been so bad, but my wife was sat in the seat across from me, as she had our dog and the seats weren't particularly big. Cue me staring at my phone and out of the window for the rest of our journey

we are in this same situation! We have a sedan now. There’s no enough room for the dog crate and a car seat in the second row. We are upgrading to a Honda Pilot, or Passport (haven’t looked in person yet) in order to put the dog crate and stroller in the trunk and have room to grow for future kids in the second row!

The police officer tells him to go to the wall, he asks if he's being arrested, the officer says yes, for sexual harassment. He asks if he has any rights, the police officer says he has the right to remain silent and to make a call upon arrival at the police department. The wife asks if she can ride in the police car with him, and the officer says she could if he were a minor... She says he has no documents and that his passport was stolen... No photo ID to show to the police. The woman next to them is the owner of the apartment where they live; she says she has those documents because copies of them were made when she rented the place. He thought he would ride in the back seat, but in Brazil, when someone is arrested, there is no comfort. After he said he would go into the cage like a dog, he uttered the phrase: "See, Donald T.rump? Do whatever you want, that's how they treat Americans." "I am a T.rump supporter." The wife wants a lawyer who understands American amendments and American rights, but since the crime was committed in Brazil, I don't know how that will help... Just to clarify, the police officer followed standard procedure in the country. It's common to point a g.u.n or taser at someone who is about to be arrested even a civilian to check if he's armed. To this owner of this vehicle: When I was walking through the parking lot on my way out of Eldora today, I could hear a dog that sounded like it was in distress. I followed the noise until I found this vehicle where your dog was cowering in the footwell of the front passenger seat and was whining and crying, obviously not happy. All of your windows were up except for the one that you have duct taped closed because it's broken, I pushed the duct tape in to give more ventilation and could feel that it was pretty warm in your car. Hello everyone! As always, thanks for all the votes and comments under my last post about Janaina Freire Goncalves- I hope that she will be found soon. Today I wanted to cover another disappearance. BACKGROUND Jared McColloch was 33 when he went missing from Vincennes, Indiana, USA. He was a construction worker. He had a teenage son named Chandler. At the time of Jared's disappearance, Chandler was in a youth detention center. Before the detention center, he was in a children's home in Mt. Vernon, where he was allegedly frequently bullied, and Jared took action as soon as he found out about it, which likely lead to Chandler being placed in the detention center. At the time of his disappearance, Jared was on probation for felony drug trafficking (with delivery on a school bus), and neglect of a dependent (both charges from 2013). He was charged for 10 years (15 with 5 suspended) for the drug charges and 8 years for neglect charges. Shortly before he went missing, he was about to finish his 5 year probation after 5 years spent in jail. His probation was revoked on the 26th of February 2024, because he missed a court date (he was already missing for about five months at the time). According to Chandler's mother, at some point Jared said he wanted to "get away from a while" and asked her to ask her dad if he has any job offers for him. Jared had a recent, pending domestic violence case; His ex-girlfriend was threatning to commit suicide, and Jared took away the knife she was holding, which involved physically restraining her. Jared's brother commited suicide, so he took her threats very seriously. He did everything to get the case moving/dismissed, and allegedly (according to his family) wasn't running away from the case. DISAPPEARANCE On the evening, around 6:30 PM, of the 4th of November, Jared set off on a 9,5 hour journey from his home in Marion, Louisiana, to visit Chandler in the detention center. Jared made it to a gas station in Salem, Illinois, around 1:39 AM, where he bought gas and a drink- he was caught on a security camera, and the clerk who saw him said nothing appeared out of the ordinary. He was supposed to meet up with the mother of his son to visit him together- she said that Jared "wasn't making sense" when they were talking on the phone. She gave him GPS coordinates to her house to come get her, but he hung up and never arrived. At 5:30 AM, he was seen at the Phillips 66 Gas Station in Central City, Illinois He was seen at a gas station in Carmi, Illinois, around 8:30 AM on the 5th. He was seen pulling in, walking into the station building, making a purchase with cash and leaving. He was seemingly driving towards Fairground Road. Jared was last seen in the area of South 6th Street Road, Vincennes, Indiana. There was an alleged sighting of him at Cannonball Bar and Grill at 12 PM in St. Francisville, Illinois on the 5th, but it was never officially confirmed to be Jared. His truck, a white 2020 Gmc sierra, was found on a gravel road near the Point, which is an area in the southernmost section of Knox County where the Wabash and White Rivers converge near the Indiana and Illinois border, nearly 600 miles (965,6 km) away from Marion. Jared's two dogs were inside, leashed, and both driver side doors were left open. The keys were in the ignition, and the car and turned on. The truck ran untill it was out of gas and turned off at around 6 PM on Sunday (5th of November). There is however a discrepancy in reports, as Knox County police, St. Francisville police and the driver of the tow truck that was hired give slightly different locations as to where the car was found. Jared had expensive tools in his car which were still inside when the car was recovered. A pack of cigarettes was found in the back seat, which was only occupied by his dogs. Pliers, a flashlight, vape and Jared's cell phone were missing from the car. Jared's phone last pinged near Mt. Carmel (around 26,8 miles/43 km away from Vincennes). A volunteer search took place, but no clues were found. CONCLUSION Jared's family believes that he was a victim of foul play and that his truck was planted at the spot it was found at by someone else. His dogs are apparently very friendly and loved going on truck rides, so they believe they wouldn't attack a strange driver unless they witnessed them harming Jared. On the 29th of July 2024, Chandler went missing from transitional center in East St. Louis after taking an uber. For the weeks leading to his disappearance, Tammie (Chandler's grandmother and Jared's mother) was working on getting custody over him. She said that she believes that Chandler hasn't fully come to terms with Jared's disappearance and that he loved his father no matter what. Chandler was treated as a runaway who went missing voluntarily. Thankfully, it appears that he has been found safe. Jared's dogs, Roxy May and Rusty, live with his parents. Jared Michael McColloch was 33 when he went missing, and would be about 35 now. He is a white male, 5'9" (175 cm) and around 179 pounds (81 kg). He has blond hair and several tattoos. He was last seen wearing jeans, a light blue shirt, dark blue Sketchers and a brown Carhartt jacket. I (21F) and my sister 19(F) are going to thanksgiving at our Nana’s next month. She lives in a small town in Missouri about 3 hours away. My sister doesn’t have a drivers license, car, or a job. so it was implied I would be taking her with me. I was fine with that. My sister brought it up to me that she would be bringing her two dogs with her. She immediately added that they will be free roaming in the car before I could say anything to the first statement. I told her I would not be okay with that because it’s a brand new car and her one of her two dogs is very misbehaved. They are both smallish dogs that are about 20lbs each. I told her I’m fine with having them in crates, secured in the trunk. I drive a new Toyota RAV4. So is plenty of space for some roomy crates and there is plenty of airflow. She told me I can’t expect her to make her do that to her dogs. I told her that, “yes in fact I can. It’s my car and your free ride to Grandmas” She told me I WILL let them free roam. I told her she doesn’t get to decide that. She then says, “I’m not telling you, I’m demanding you.” Her dogs literally start fighting while we are talking. I tell her “you can find a ride then.” She then tells me to leave and go back to my apartment. AITA? TLDR: My sister demands I let her dogs free roam in my brand new car and is being super unreasonable. Edit: to be more clear, Yes my Nana is aware the dogs will be coming. The car is an SUV so the trunk is not closed off from the cabin at all. The dogs would be visible from the back seat. I have cloth seats that would just be a magnet for dog hair and dog stink. She doesn’t keep her dogs groomed very well at all and simply petting one for a few seconds will stink up your hand. There are not any clear laws for the state of OK or MO that have requirements for dog restraints. Thank you all for confirming my doubts. I used to come here about my mum, but since announcing pregnancy my mum has mellowed and my MIL has... not. Bubs is due on 22nd December. We've been vague and said "end of December" but didn't add on too much time because we didn't want to give false ideas about Christmas (we won't be going anywhere or having anyone over, whether bubs has arrived or not). MIL is house/ dog sitting over Christmas for a friend who is going to see their mum overseas. MIL panicked when she was told the dates and said "well we'll just have to bring the 3 dogs to the hospital!" DH swears this was a joke. One of these dogs is huge and can comfortably put it's front paws on the shoulders of a 6 foot tall man. Another is her very small but very bad tempered Boston Terrier. It had better have been a joke because that is 100,000% not happening. Within hours of being sent the registry MIL bought the car seat. I'm very appreciative of this. I think it was the most expensive item on there. At the time, the nursery was a spare bedroom, so MIL said she would keep hold of it until we have the space. Fair enough. She has bought many smaller items since then. Clothes, muslins, books, cute hooded towels. She has brought these to us in 2 or 3 batches. The bed has been removed from the spare bedroom. We have space. She knows this. But she has not brought the car seat. Maybe I'm being paranoid. Maybe she just hasn't had chance. There is loads of time until December. But I cannot shake the feeling, especially given her "joke" about bringing the dogs, that she is holding on to the car seat so that she HAS to be allowed to come to the hospital. For the record, this isn't happening. If we don't have the car seat in the house by 1st December then I'm buying one myself. DH agrees.
