What is Dropshipping?

Dropshipping is a business model where an online retailer does not keep products in stock but instead transfers customer orders and shipment details to the manufacturer, another retailer, or a wholesaler, who then ships the products directly to the customer.

Is Dropshipping trending?

Yes. Dropshipping growing with a month-over-month change of 1.13% over the past 5 years, with approximately 165,000 monthly searches.

This is a seasonal trend that peaks every January. The seasonal demand is forecasted to decline over the next year.

Why is Dropshipping trending?

1
Low Startup Costs
Dropshipping requires minimal upfront investment as there is no need to purchase inventory or manage a warehouse. This makes it an attractive option for entrepreneurs with limited capital.
2
Easy to Get Started
Setting up a dropshipping business is relatively simple compared to traditional retail models. With the availability of e-commerce platforms and supplier directories, anyone can start an online store without technical expertise.
3
Wide Product Selection
Dropshipping allows retailers to offer a wide range of products without the need to physically stock them. Retailers can partner with multiple suppliers and offer a diverse product catalog to attract a larger customer base.
4
Flexible Location and Work Hours
Dropshipping can be operated from anywhere with an internet connection. Retailers have the freedom to work remotely and set their own working hours, providing flexibility and a better work-life balance.
5
Reduced Risk and Inventory Management
Since retailers do not purchase inventory upfront, there is no risk of being stuck with unsold products. Dropshipping also eliminates the need for inventory management, reducing the costs and complexities associated with warehousing and fulfillment.

What is the reality of dropshipping?
Hello all this is my first time on this sub but hopefully not the last but I came here wanting to know the truth not to see if this income stream often understood as a get rich quick scheme is legit or not. I want to put it in the hard work but I want to have real insight on what this field of work really is. I always see people on TikTok claiming to make life changing amounts just from dropshipping and claiming how all you need is a computer and motivation etc. Yet on Reddit all I hear is how hard it is. Which doesn’t discourage me but rather confuses me. What is the reality of dropshipping? Because I know there’s more to this. Thank you for reading. Just to note I don’t care if it’s long term, I don’t care if this is hard I just want a non jaded perspective. submitted by /u/assinacan69 to r/dropshipping [link] [comments]

How I made my first $1k dropshipping with zero experience (and you can too)
ok so i know this sounds so fake but i actually made $1000 last month dropshipping and i had ZERO experience before this like none at all and im still kind of freaking out about it tbh so basically i spent like 3 weeks just watching youtube videos about it at 2am and reading random reddit posts and stuff. everyone kept saying you have to spend a ton on ads right away but i had no money so that wasnt happening lol. so i just picked a product i actually liked (nothing weird just something i would actually buy) and made a store within like a day w AIStorebuilder and started posting about it on social media for free the first week i got literally no sales and i was so ready to just quit and forget the whole thing. but then i started actually talking to people in facebook groups and subreddits about my niche and not like spamming links everywhere just actually being helpful and mentioning my store sometimes. i also made some tiktoks which were SO cringe but whatever it worked i guess week 3 i got my first sale and i literally almost cried no joke. then i got two more the same day and i was going insane. by the end of the month i made $1087 and spent like $340 on products so like $747 profit which is crazy to me stuff that actually worked: - just selling ONE product and not trying to do everything at once - getting the store live asap - not spending money on ads and just posting stuff for free instead - actually talking to people in communities instead of just dropping links - not expecting it to work so i didnt get sad when it was slow honestly the biggest thing is i just started. i didnt wait until everything was perfect because it never is. i see so many people just researching forever and never actually doing it and that was almost me too lol i know $1k isnt that much money but for someone who was literally so scared to even try it feels really good if ur thinking about starting just do it honestly. worst case u learn something what was ur first milestone and how long did it take?? also if anyone knows how to grow without spending money on ads pls help me out lol i have no idea what im doing next submitted by /u/youwesurfs to r/OnlineIncomeHustle [link] [comments]

AITJ for telling my friend her "handmade" Etsy shop is literally just AliExpress dropshipping
my friend has been running this Etsy shop for like 8 months now, constantly posting on instagram about her "small business" and how everything is "handcrafted with love" and asking people to support her journey blah blah i bought one of her resin keychains as a gift for my sister (like $14) and when it arrived i recognized it immediately bc i had seen the exact same keychain, same mold, same color swirls, on AliExpress for $1.20. did a reverse image search and found her entire shop catalog on there lol confronted her privately and she admitted she just buys bulk from AliExpress and relists them. fine whatever, people do that but the "handmade" thing is genuinely illegal on etsy and she's charging people 10x the price based on a lie she kept brushing it off so i finally told her i wasnt going to keep quiet about it especially bc she was actively encouraging people to buy from her instead of "soulless corporations" to support a real maker now shes saying i betrayed her and that i should mind my own business bc she has like $3k saved up from Stаke and the shop is her main income i get that people need money and ive been there, ive had months where i was budgeting every single dollar just to get by, but lying to your customers and calling yourself a small artisan when ur literally just a reseller feels wrong to me her boyfriend also texted me saying i was jealous of her success which, okay AITJ? submitted by /u/TangerineUnique248 to r/AmITheJerk [link] [comments]

Don't get fooled by dropshipping.
You can foold people once, not twice. Imagine charging $3x for the same Aliexpress product your customer can easily find cheaper with a Google search. You're competing with Temu, Aliexpress and Amazon. Like on the 1848's gold rush, people who profit from dropshipping are those who sell the narrative that you can get rich quick. If they were really sucessfull, would they have the time to keep teaching and imposing new ways to spend your money on Free-Product-Research-based-subscriptions-tools or Ai-Free-Build-Stores-Software? Open your eyes, don't get fooled. Sucesfull stores? They have the budget to customize. The budget to endlessly market their product without rush to profit. They have the long-term vision. They know their profit margin will be immensenly low in the first years. They know their customers can get fooled once, not twice. (Customers can still return your low-quality product). submitted by /u/Runeescape to r/dropshipping [link] [comments]

21 years old, doing $9,443.44/day with Shopify dropshipping in 2026
(AI tools + smarter product research) The biggest jump in my ecommerce results didn’t come from a new ad hack. It came from simplifying my entire product research and AI workflow. The Hidden Cost of “The Stack” When you’re testing products, you end up using the same mix of tools as everyone else: ChatGPT for product descriptions Claude Pro for ad copy GetHooked for viral hooks Kalodata for product research Higgsfield for AI video ads They all work. But paying for multiple AI and ecommerce subscriptions while you’re still testing? That gets expensive fast. Before you even find a winner, you’re already deep in monthly costs. What Actually Scaled Me Instead of juggling 6–8 platforms, I moved everything into one workspace. One login. Lower costs. Faster testing. Cleaner execution. No more switching tabs. No more subscription overload. Just: Test → Validate → Scale. Why I Built It I built an all-in-one AI ecommerce workspace around this exact system. It’s what I wish I had when I was launching Shopify stores and trying to scale profitable Facebook and TikTok campaigns without burning cash. If you’re building or scaling a dropshipping store and this resonates, comment below and I’ll send you the Discord waitlist. Launching soon. https://discord.gg/pkGu3gQV submitted by /u/East-Ad-3611 to r/dropshipping [link] [comments]

How I’d Start Dropshipping in 2026 If I Had to Start From Scratch (No BS)
Been dropshipping for 8 years. Made every mistake possible - burned thousands on bad products, bad ads, and worse advice. Last year, I made a post like this. Today I'm adapting it for 2026. Here’s a step-by-step FREE blueprint to help you avoid all that, and actually give yourself a shot at winning: Step 1: Don’t Choose Products Emotionally Scrolling TikTok and saying “this looks cool” isn’t a strategy. Most viral products are already saturated. Instead, start with market signals from real ad data. Use the Meta Ads Library to check which products are actively being scaled. Look for: Ads that run for 2+ weeks Multiple ad variations (shows scaling) Products that solve a real problem If you have the budget, there are tools that help you see what ads are actually scaling (daily spend, launch dates, etc.), which can save you time and money by avoiding dead products. (Not naming tools upfront - don’t want this to look like just promo. Just trying to share real value first.) One of the biggest beginner mistakes is refusing to spend $50/month on a solid research tool, while burning thousands on untested, unproven products. Totally counterintuitive. Once you found your product, don't overthink the supplier part : just use Aliexpress through the app DSERS on Shopify, i'm still using it to test new products. Step 2: Pick One Country, Not All If you target “Worldwide” or all English-speaking countries, your *pixel will get confused.Your CPM might be cheap, but your conversion rate will tank. Instead: pick one country where the product isn’t yet saturated.Germany, France, and Denmark are great starting points - less competition, and very high buying power. Bonus tip: Use Google Translate or Shopify's free translate plugin to localize your site in under 1 hour. Stop thinking that you need to speak a language to sell your products ! *pixel = tool used by Facebook to track people that clic on your ad, add to cart, buy etc. It is also the tool that looks for the best audience for you product. Step 3: Launch Smart, Not Blind Don’t spend $200+ hoping it’ll work. Start with $50–100/day on Meta Ads. Use broad targeting, test 1–4 creatives.Track everything: ROAS (Most important KPI) ATC CPM/CPC If after $100 you have no sales and %ATC less than 6% → kill the product and move on. Your job isn’t to “make” a product work. It’s to find one that already works. Step 4: Don’t Overbuild Your Website Your site should load fast and do ONE thing:Make people click "Buy Now". Use a clean Shopify theme.Use clear copywriting, high-quality images and GIF's, and remove distractions. Skip the fancy animations and 15-section landing pages. Focus on clarity. (They are lot of great youtube videos on how to build a shopify landing page). Step 5: Iterate or Die This is where 90% quit. But here’s the truth:Even the best marketers test 10–15 products before finding a winner. The only difference between you and them? They don’t test blind. They use data to increase their odds. Track everything. Learn from what flops. And when something starts converting, double down. Let me know if you want a breakdown of winning ad structures, how to analyze your competitors’ landing pages, or how to calculate product costs. Last Thing : Please stop watching 100 youtube videos on how to start and how to do things, just do something, and you'll have time to iterate after. Good luck - and remember, the people who win are the ones who keep testing smart. Step 6: Automate everything you can Every day, new AI applications are developed to automate every repetitive action. I'm going to tell you about two apps that I use all the time. First, Image Flow, it lets you bulk optimize, rename, and automatically match product images on Shopify (compression, SEO structuring, SKU matching) to improve site speed and catalog organization without manual work. POI Dropship Removal Effect
Round 1 just done closing and guess what the whole lobby dies in quarantine zone…. On round 2 there is 5 squads left due to 2 more teams third partying quarantine zone. I start to wonder is this really the intention of the devs to turn ranked into just another pubs. Now the team that left in the game can start running around the whole map trying to end the game. This is not even silver lobby this is diamond/plate demoted to silver. Please please bring back the poi dropship to ranked because this is The worst change ever. submitted by /u/GroundbreakingArt581 to r/apexlegends [link] [comments]

Do people really make $10k/month from dropshipping?
I’ve been looking into dropshipping for a few weeks and keep seeing totally opposite opinions. Some people claim they’re making $10k-$50k a month, while others say it’s all fake and dropshipping is dead. Is it actually possible to make good money with dropshipping, and why do so many people say it’s not worth it? submitted by /u/DamageSuccessful to r/dropshipping [link] [comments]

Made 26K Dropshipping and Now I’m Broke
As I always say, I have a lot of respect for America, because it’s one of the few countries where you can use other people’s money to get rich As you can see from the screenshot, I started this ecom store around April this year and have managed to generate about $26K in revenue mainly through Meta ads. I did make some profit along the way, but looking back now, I realize I burned a lot of cash on things that were unnecessary that I thought was valuable for my business at the time I was spending money,Testing Google and TikTok ads ( which ended up not working well for me), Hiring freelancers to set up Google Ads/GMC, Spending on fancy packaging way too early, Jumping to test other products instead of focusing on my winner, Getting overcharged by suppliers Mannn, I made a lot of mistakes And Now Q4 is here (the moment I’ve been preparing for since the beginning of the year), my budget is tighter than I hoped. I thought by now I’d be able to spend $1K/day on ads, but I’m nowhere near that. And since I don’t live in a country where I can get loans or business credit to reinvest, I’m kinda stuck although I can tell that my products can work If you're someone who currently have a succesfull dropshipping business and at some point during your journey, you've found yor self in a similar situation. I would like to ask you how did you get out ? How did you manage to grow your business and become stable and profitable again and also how long did it take you and what strategy did you use. And even if you've never been in that situation i would be more than happy to hear your advice I really appreciate each and every one of you who is gonna share your story. submitted by /u/Walter_whiite to r/dropshipping [link] [comments]

The Automatons have discovered new countermeasures for those who take down dropships
Thought it was a really funny crash, and the only crash I've actually experienced in HD2. I'm just glad it happened in the first few minutes of the level 😌 submitted by /u/SupraTachy to r/Helldivers [link] [comments]

I don't care what anyone says, shooting bot dropships absolutely helps.
It's so weird to me that people say this. I've downed drop ships and I've found that it often takes out several of the troops on it AND it at least slows down the heavier units within. I don't get why so many people say that it's only something you should do because it's fun. submitted by /u/Raspint to r/Helldivers [link] [comments]

Dropship go boom. Me Happy.
I don't care if I get zero kills from shooting down a dropship or if I get 16 kills. I just really enjoy shooting them out of the sky. My friends and I are very simple creatures who enjoy large explosions. submitted by /u/Girth-Wind-Fire to r/Helldivers [link] [comments]

Killing dropships still does (80% of the time, source: Trust me bro) absolutely fucking nothing.
It seems a solid 90% of the time that I blow a dropship out of the sky, the units it was going to drop fall, the dropship lands ontop of them, it explodes, And then they look at me, mildly offended that I even bothered. That, or, the 3 Hulks the dropship was carrying get glitched and stuck in the thing, floating in space while shooting missiles 45 degrees at the ground. It love shooting down dropships, but it feels so utterly inconsistent and pointless sometimes.- and when they're coming in groups of 4, shooting them down is incredibly important. It's supposed* to kill all the units it was carrying. Shit sucks. submitted by /u/not-beaten to r/Helldivers [link] [comments]

LPT: Find something you want on Etsy or Amazon? Reverse search the image. A lot of the time the product is actually a dropshipped item from eBay or Aliexpress, at a significantly lower price
EBay does a similar money back policy to Etsy/Amazon for items that don’t match their description. Both eBay and Aliexpress have image search functions and you can filter by product rating. submitted by /u/fairyfloss17 to r/LifeProTips [link] [comments]
