Dupray Neat Steam cleaner issue
I bought a Dupray neat from auction, it's not one that needs to be recalled, but I clearly don't have the receipt now so I have no warranty I can see When I turn it on, the light goes green very quickly (I read it's supposed to take around 8 mins but this doesn't) It makes the humming noise when I press the button on the nozzle The box heats up a bit I can feel a bit of warmth at the beginning of the pipe, maybe up to about half the pipe length at times But nothing comes out I tried descaling it once, some stuff came out I did it again, didn't notice anything come out Any idea what the issue could be? submitted by /u/Blade123222 to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

Steam cleaner recommendations
Considering the linked steam cleaner, just to see if steam cleaning is right for me. Would like something I can use in the bathroom as well as on the couch. Has anyone tried this one or have any recommendations? https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Cleaning-Accessories-Adjustable-Detailing/dp/B0FR4NZN55/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=126MYGP0R7KHO&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.jdFWxVXfuM4ReSJ_WlUk_VnBUgSVro40GElbTexh0W53lHIJneCB89liz8gjUs7XPdQAxVT46dAAB7Vk1_iAt7XTBAmbtEUBh6cF5MevwSlpQk-XS0lyubY5TSA6SP8j2b537Aa24RcK93jIF_-irH8VPqKpGWwC7wV_C2PqYWxR66DbEnLa7EFpzTbnJmNDksxyfffLw820lFrNKp_6wQ.3cMcHk7H6rVBVkDX8N3TSNTq4d0Yphz3zj3TJeipvPw&dib_tag=se&keywords=steam+cleaner&qid=1774602451&sprefix=%2Caps%2C137&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1 submitted by /u/cheapweednapplesauce to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

Best steam cleaner for oven grease and kitchen grime (finally replaced my spray habit)
I cook a lot. Like embarrassing amounts of roasting and braising for someone who lives alone in a studio in Portland. The downside is my oven looks like a crime scene every three weeks and I'm the one who has to deal with it. For years my routine was spray a can of Easy-Off in there at night and scrub it out in the morning. It worked but the whole apartment would reek for hours even with every window open. My neighbor knocked on my door once asking if something was burning. No man, just me trying to have a clean oven. That's the moment I started looking for something else. Tried the baking soda and vinegar paste thing that everyone recommends. Paste went on great. Came off like concrete. Spent more time chipping dried paste off the oven walls than I ever spent scrubbing grease. So that was a waste of a Saturday. A buddy of mine restores old motorcycles and he uses a steam cleaner to degrease engine parts. He brought it over one weekend and pointed it at the inside of my oven just to prove a point. The baked on stuff from three weeks of cooking just ran down the walls. I literally said "you're kidding me" out loud because I'd been scrubbing like an idiot this whole time. Ended up getting the Dupray Neat Steam Cleaner after doing my usual deep dive into which one was actually worth buying. It gets up to 275 degrees which is apparently what you need to actually break down carbonized grease instead of just moving it around. The triangle brush attachment is the one you want for ovens. Gets into the corners and along the door gasket where all the worst stuff hides. Whole process takes me about 10 minutes now and there's zero smell afterward. My girlfriend pointed out that the apartment doesn't reek of chemicals on cleaning day anymore which I didn't even think about but yeah she's right. Fair warning. The first time you use one of these you will have water everywhere. I soaked my kitchen floor because I didn't realize how much steam output you're dealing with. Took me about three uses to figure out the right distance and angle. Also it's not cordless so plan your outlet situation. If you only clean your oven once or twice a year then honestly a $5 can of Easy-Off is fine. But if you cook regularly and the inside of your oven makes you feel ashamed when someone opens it, the steam cleaner pays for itself fast just in time saved. TL;DR: Went from spraying chemicals and scrubbing overnight to pointing steam at it for 10 minutes. Buddy showed me his motorcycle degreaser trick and I felt dumb for not figuring this out years ago. submitted by /u/cyclingtrivialities2 to r/ProductProbe [link] [comments]

Tired of damp carpets? I compared the specs of 4 popular steam cleaners
I’ve been obsessed with finding a portable cleaner that actually extracts water instead of just making the carpet wet. I spent the afternoon digging through manuals and spec sheets to put together this comparison chart. Interestingly, the TikTok-famous Bissell isn't necessarily the strongest when you look at the kPa and wattage. If you’re like me and hate waiting 24 hours for a rug to dry, the suction power makes a massive difference. Hope this saves some of you the headache of deep-diving through manuals like I did! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these or if you think I missed a spec. submitted by /u/ChocholateBabe to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

Mystery item arrived: steam cleaner
Hello! I always like seeing what mystery items turn out to be, so here’s one I got this week. It was just the picture of the hose with practically no info and a $9 or $19 price tag. I was able to find other listings for “large capacity steam cleaner with 16 accessories” on the seller’s page, and the hose from the picture is shown as one of the accessories. The link to my mystery item currently goes to a dog page, but that product page I found currently lists it at $199 but on sale for $60 (that’s some Canadian Tire level price slashing!). submitted by /u/allthekittensnuggles to r/AmazonVineCanada [link] [comments]

Steam Cleaner and cleaning with it?
Considering buying a good steam cleaner machine with attachments. I have a small home, tile floor. I've seen lots of videos on steam cleaners being used for daily and deep cleans for the home, even the car. Just curious and would appreciate any and all advice from y'all. Anyone here love their machine, if so which ones? Tips and tricks? Do you really not need any cleaning solutions? I grew up within a latin home, and a neat freak mother. She used a ton of products, lots of imported stuff. Huge on the bleach and fabuloso. I got used to it, and in my own became a product junkie. With an emphasis of harsh cleaners and fragrance products. Until I moved in with my boyfriend, who is allergic to bleach! And he's sensitive to fragrance. So I got into natural brands, and simple ingredients. Vinegars, baking soda, etc. 70% alcohol in spray bottles. Simple green, borax. Just essential oils diffused for a light fragrance. So I don't use too many products these days. I've been curious about the steam cleaning though. It's just the power of steam to degrease and disinfect. I'm wary, lol. I'm so just mentally attached to cleanliness having aromas. submitted by /u/lovinghealing to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

The Best Steam Cleaner Right Now? Recommendation?
I’m looking for a great steam cleaner for home use something that’s powerful, easy to use, and actually makes cleaning faster and better. The options are wildly overwhelming with all the different models, attachments, tank sizes, and features out there. I’m open to splurging if it’s worth it, but I also want budget-friendly options that actually get the job done. I’ve seen a bunch of brands like Dupray, Bissell, McCulloch, Shark, and Wagner mentioned, but honestly I trust real experiences over ads. If you’ve tried one and loved it or regretted buying it I’d really appreciate the honest take. submitted by /u/MollyChase9091 to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

Just started using a vacuum + steam floor cleaner. Any cleaning or maintenance tips?
So I finally caved and replaced my Bissell after one too many saturday mornings after a pasta night picking hair and mystery gunk out of a roller that somehow smelled like wet dog (we don't even have a dog). The final straw was when my feet literally stuck to the floor after cleaning. like... what's even the point then? Decided to try a vacuum/steam combo this time. first use felt a little like cheating when watching this dried coffee spill disappear was weirdly satisfying. The self-cleaning thing is neat. I was skeptical, but after I finished, i just let it run and all the nasty water drained out while it cleaned the roller itself. didn't have to touch anything. Which is good because I'm lazy and that's usually where I give up on maintaining stuff. Floors actually feel clean now instead of that weird sticky-clean feeling. Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how not to ruin this one: For people using steam cleaners regularly: have you noticed it doing anything weird to your floors over time? I've got tile and luxury vinyl, and I'm paranoid about warping or dulling or whatever else can go wrong. Maintenance-wise, what actually needs attention? The roller cleans itself, but I'm assuming there's other stuf like filters? tanks? random parts that'll clog up if I ignore them? And the cleaning solution question, is adding anything to the water a terrible idea? I keep seeing people say "just use water" but also... my floors get gross and I want them to smell nice. I have a track record of destroying appliances by either over-maintaining or under-maintaining, lol. so any actual advice would be great. submitted by /u/Ok_Machine_135 to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

Hands down the best Steam Deck accessory I’ve bought!
If you’re like me and do a lot of moonlight streaming this is a game changer It’s a Microchip PD-USB It takes POE (power over Ethernet) and delivers 60w of power AND data over a single usbc cable. So when I sit down and plug in my deck I’m also hardwired directly into my network. It’s designed for point of sale tablets but it works very well on the deck (also phones and laptops) I’m lucky enough to have a house with lots of Ethernet runs and a nice POE switch but even if you don’t, you could still do one run to your couch with a POE injector. submitted by /u/Hugostiglitz10 to r/SteamDeck [link] [comments]

Dupray Neat “Steam Cleaner” or just a scalding hot squirt gun?
Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can generate steam from the Dupray Neat? I’ve followed the directions and I’m using distilled water, but all I get is a high pressure stream of hot water that shoots out of the nozzle. I’ve tried using the bonnets and pads for the accessories, but they quickly turn into a soggy mess. What am I doing wrong? submitted by /u/Hour-Being1826 to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

I'd say my new steam cleaner works.
Each grout line is taking about a minute to clean. I scrub in light circles, letting the steam do the work. Wipe up the dirty water with a cloth and wring out. I've never been able to get this floor this clean. submitted by /u/SewSewBlue to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

AITA for tidying up in the bathroom while my girlfriend was in the shower? [Short] [Concluded]
This is a repost. The original was posted in /r/AITA_WIBTA_PUBLIC, r/WhatShouldIDo, r/TwoHotTakes and r/CleaningTips by User Icy-Tomatillo-9979. I'm not the original poster. Status: Concluded. Mood: How is OOP still alive Original February 26, 2025 Long story short, my (M32) girlfriend (F31) and I just moved into an apartment together a few months ago and I’ve been slacking on the cleaning. She hasn’t really said anything but I’ve noticed her saying things under her breath or making some comment during dinner. I’m not a myoginist, I know men gotta clean and stuff too I just never really did much of it. I mean I cleaned, of course, just not like my neat freak girlfriend. Anyways, I decided to clean the house before she got home from the gym, but I hadn’t finished by the time she got home. Mind you, when she came home and saw what I was doing she was really really happy, I got a big smooch and promise of some fun times after her shower, so naturally I wanted to hurry up and get it done. She hopped in the shower but I hadn’t finished the bathroom yet. Our bathroom is kinda big, so I figured I could sneak in while she was showering (not to be a creep, the shower curtain is dark you can’t even see through it) to get the cleaning done. I do have a tendency to get distracted, so while I was bringing in the stuff to quickly clean the floor I left my phone playing the podcast I was listening to in the other room. Not thinking I just quickly mixed together some bleach and vinegar to get it cleaned fast. I know what you’re thinking and yes I’m an idiot, I figured the vinegar would speed up the process but I didn’t even think about how bad it smelled. Well after I mixed it I quickly went out to grab my phone and turn the podcast off when I hear my girlfriend scream. I run back to the bathroom but the steam was literally burning my eyes she had the shower so hot and she comes out, fully naked mind you, yelling at me calling me an idiot everything. She dumped the cleaning stuff down the drain and closed the bathroom door literally freaking out at me. Again, she’s butt naked and we’re in the living room at this point with WINDOWS pointed at the courtyard! Long story short she’s on our patio crying and told me she’s not mad at me but she needs time to “heal” and said I should probably drive around for a bit. So now I’m sitting in my car wondering what the hell I did to upset her so badly. AITAH? Consensus: Asshole. Notable Comments: My guy you made chlorine gas and left her in the room with it. While you left. After you’ve sucked at cleaning. For months. And then got mad she was mad. You suck. highheelcyanide chemical weaponized incompetence lesliecarbone Doesn’t clean, gets “distracted” easily, uses a lethal weapon on his gf when she’s in a most vulnerable state YTA barely covers this VFTM I’m fairly certain this is a war crime. YTA Q_the_RU no but you don't understand - she was naked when she was trying to save her own life! people on the street might have seen her boobs when she was trying to save her own life! see-you-every-day Comments by OOP: Thankfully we don’t have any pets. I’m reading all the comments now and realizing how stupid I am. You’re also right about letting her be especially after the gym, I’ll knock next time and maybe never try to take a shortcut cleaning again Oh my god I literally didn’t know. Should I go back home? Or call a doctor or something I feel terrible This is real I promise but I saw all the other comments too and I had no idea it was a deadly gas that could be made I thought it was ammonia and bleach not vinegar. I don’t know why I thought it was ammonia and bleach but now I feel really dumb not doing that instead. I tried calling her to see if she’s okay but she hasn’t called back yet. It’s been like an hour I’m gonna go home and see how she is. I thought vinegar and bleach was the good combo and ammonia and bleach was the bad one but I got it backwards I’m gonna call the doctor tomorrow my girlfriend is still all teary eyed I guess I got away before it really got to me. And you were all right that’s why she ran out naked I didn’t know that until now I feel terrible. I thought bleach and vinegar were the okay ones and ammonia and bleach was the bad one but now I know. She’s still teary eyed but I think she’s going to be okay she’s still rinsing her eyes out though so we haven’t talked. I’m definitely apologizing. Update February 26, 2025, same day in r/cleaningtips I need a cleaner that can get grime out. I live in an apartment with my girlfriend that’s nice but the bathroom gets gross quickly. I need something that can get grime out quickly and easily like bleach but that won’t hurt our eyes. Notable Comments: DO NOT MIX BLEACH WITH ANYTHING!!!!!!! Much_Mud_9971 I actually just learned that the hard way lol which is why I’m looking for alternatives. It’s good to know that bleach can’t be mixed with anything at all, thank you! Can you mix vinegar and ammonia? Is it just the bleach that causes issues? [OOP] Are you trolling JFC. All you need is a water to white vinegar ratio for cleaning. Vinegar and bleach creates a toxic gas BeWonderfulBeDope Yea I just figured that out unfortunately for my gf. The people from AITA told me to mix ammonia and bleach not vinegar so I wanted to see what you guys said [OOP] So instead of chlorine gas you want to make mustard gas? You keen on reenacting war crimes from the first world war? punchuwluff Update 2 February 27, 2025, a couple hours later Hi everyone, you may remember me as the dummy from yesterday who accidentally chlorine gassed my girlfriend. I just wanted to give an update for anyone who was interested. I ended up taking my girlfriend to the ER, she actually was okay but the doctor was concerned about chemical burns. She wasn’t mad at me at all, she just thinks I’m an idiot (she’s correct). She wasn’t crying because she was upset she was crying because the gas was burning her eyes and that’s why she told me to drive around, because she was worried it got in my lungs. I apologized profusely and she accepted my apology immediately, but as I read through the comments I realize that she deserves more than an apology and also I need to treat her a lot better. I need to clean more (WITH STOREBOUGHT SUPPLIES, I WONT BE MIXING ANYTHING) without being asked. I need to respect her privacy when she’s back from the gym, and most important I need to stop being so selfish. My girlfriend is an amazing person who deserves the world and since she’s staying with my stupid ass I’m going to give it to her. Thanks to all you of you who helped, I realize how stupid this whole thing was in retrospect but I do appreciate all the comments (even the kind of mean ones!) Dupray Neat Steam Cleaner Accessories
I love my Dupray Neat steam cleaner, but the accessories it came with are terrible. They sell replacement accessories but not only do I already know they are low quality but they are also VERY expensive ($30 for one tiny brush attachment). Has anyone found other aftermarket accessories that fit this steamer? I really just want more of the small detail brushes and the triangle brush. submitted by /u/OkCulture8411 to r/CleaningTips [link] [comments]

Wet/Dry with Steamy action...this is the song that never ends
So I think I am going to buy the new cordless Tineco, it looks perfect. I kid, I kid. Open with a joke, yeah? My original hope was to buy a combo steamer/extractor only to once again be reminded of the never ending tyranny that is 120V. I have outlawed, under penalty of being drawn and quartered, any and all forms of carpet, so the main use is some furniture, counters, oven/range, bathrooms and floor. I am also done with microfiber pads by the ton or endless paper towels to dry up the soggy messes left with cleaning those things. Simple, I thought, get the Dupray Neat (or whatever) for one hand and a wet dry shop vac in the other (scrubber attachment for the drill and cleaning solution when needed), golden. Maybe even add a water sprayer under the shop vac for walls and spot cleaning/extracting the furniture with chemical cleaner. Everyone seems to be having a tawdry tryst with the Ridgids, I'll get one of those and it's peak HP....sigh. Most models don't even get to within half of the Miele when it comes to suction. Everyone is in love (or in the pocket) with a thing that, when you look at suction, well, can't actually suck very well at all and no wonder they only list the meaningless peak HP stat and don't put out the sub-par pressure measurements. So more digging (so tired of having to dig to find out how I'm being lied to on everything I think of buying), found a few recommendations for the Vacmaster Pro only to instantly see the, "HEPA material filter," so while its other numbers look good, if they are trying to pull that, I don't trust anything else the company claims. So, before I keep digging, has anyone tried anything like this? Am I just over thinking the numbers and the Vacmaster or even the Ridgid will do a fine job to suck up the water left behind from the steam, or is the entire idea just dumb to begin with and I should quit while only out a few hours of time? submitted by /u/lackoffaithify to r/VacuumCleaners [link] [comments]
