I’ve got hip-long, straight hair, which gets a bit frizzy (split ends. But just started with ‘dusting’ as Ive often read here :). So hopefully less frizzy after in the future). Got the Dyson Original with 3 pieces (fast dryer, anti-snag loop brush, 40mm Airwrap long barrel). I already knew prior that I wont get decent curls out of this, as its a blow dry tool and my hair is too long. I saw people on YouTube shorts using those big round hoop curlers right after the dyson curling, so the curls set more. Also, I already use Kerastase Heat-protection (leave in) and Kerastase glow drops (after). Not really focused on the curling, but mostly on how to use best? What are your starter tips? Any secret methods I should know of? Any extra pieces I should purchase? Fyi: I didnt own a hairdryer before so really excited to finally have one. Hi all! I’m looking for some real reviews about Dysons newest airwrap - the Coanda 2x. I’ve looked on TikTok and YouTube but it seems like 99% of videos are sponsored which is pretty annoying. Unfortunately I don’t have a Dyson store near me so I’m hoping to get some honest opinions. I have short (bob length) hair. I blow dry my hair after every wash day (once a week) and my hair doesn’t really do well with heat but for my job it does need to be styled unfortunately. So this means I do tend to use curling irons more than I’d like. I’m hoping the airwrap could minimise heat damage whilst also styling it. The bristles on the airwrap seem like they’d be a lot gentler on my hair. I never do blowouts because those round brushes always snag my hair! Hi everyone! I just got the Dyson Airwrap for Christmas and I’ve used it three times now. I’m looking for some advice because I’m struggling with the technique. My Current Routine: I rough dry my hair until it’s about 80% dry. I use the smoothing brush to detangle and smooth (my hair is wavy/2B and gets pretty frizzy once it’s dry). I then switch to the barrels (tried both 30mm and 40mm) to curl. The Problem: The barrels aren't “grabbing”my hair. When they do, it’s only a tiny section at a time, which is taking forever because I have a huge amount of hair. I managed to get it done once, but I could only really reach the outer layer. The back is too short and hard to reach, so I ended up leaving it. The Weird Part: Despite the struggle, the curls actually lasted for 2-3 days and looked great! I was so surprised since I don't use any products—except shampoo. My Hair Stats: • Length: Short (between chin and shoulders). • Type: 2B wavy, medium-fine texture, but very thick/dense. • Issues: Prone to frizz at the ends. • Products: None (only shampoo). Hello! I received a Dyson i.d. airwrap as a gift at the end of November 2025. Since then, I've noticed that I have some shorter hairs on the top of my head. I used it about two to three times a week, and now I use it once a week. I use a hairdryer to dry my hair to about 80%, and then I always use the round brush attachment (the only brush that gives me a nice blow-dry). I have both fine and thick hair. I have a Wella heat protectant spray, but I don't feel like it works best with the airwrap. I love the results of the i.d. airwrap; it really makes my hair look like I have a salon blow-dry. Before this, I always just used a hairdryer to dry my hair, without using anything else, because my hair is naturally straight. The airwrap, however, allows me to add movement to the ends of my hair, which creates a really nice look. However, the fact that I now have short hair on top makes me hesitate to keep it, even though I'll be careful not to use it too often. I've always had healthy, fast-growing hair. I wouldn't want my hair to get even shorter on top and break even more. I have until January 11, 2026, to decide whether to get a refund for the Airwrap i.d. I'm really torn: should I keep it or not? My initial need was for a better hairdryer, but I stumbled upon the Airwrap by chance and wanted to get it as a gift. Hello! I got the Dyson airwrap i.d. as a gift to myself for my birthday last month. I have been loving playing with it and trying it out, but, even with the pros of this hair styler, there are two things i cannot stop thinking about, and am hoping for advice/thoughts from people who have had this appliance for longer than 30 days (I welcome newbie comments as well of course!) So for the last week or so I have been commenting, questioning and replying to posts regarding air wraps, dysons, t-3's. This saga began when I got the Nora styler about 5 months ago for 50$ I have only ever used the curling rods, the brush dryer attachment was awful, and I do not like to rough dry my hair I always use some sort of brush either vent or round depending on how wet when I start. I thought the curling rods worked ok but did not hold any volume I achieved for more than 10 minutes but I was intrigued now about these air stylers. Of course this past week everyone has the dyson, shark and t3 on sale. I took the the shark out of the running because if it wasnt going to be dyson it was going to be T3 because of the tools I already have and love from them. I got the dyson air wrap ID 1st, it is on sale for $499. at Costco. The minute I got it, I regretted it, just due to the sheer cumbersomeness of it. Beside the 6 regular attachments, the regulars come with it because its costco its always Xtra, I also got a diffuser , the hard shell case and a soft carrying case. That's just too much it would need its own room. First I tried the round brush - absolutely hated that attachment for my baby fine hair made it silky flat like a toddlers hair. Next was the wands. I was unable to get volume at the root, I had a hard time with placement. My hair is short and I ended up looking a combo of lord farquaard and the liberty bell. I could get no volume on the sides or top, could not get an away from face wave, I got the liberty bell. The rods are probably better sized for long hair. I packed it up the best I could and back to costco it went, berating my self the whole way with the usual " WTH were you thinking" Yesterday the T3 came I got it from Tik-tok shop $189. free shipping ( i got lucky with timing and coupons because now its $239.) but before I even opened it, I got my return label. I then took pictures of how it was packed in the box so I was prepared for what was surely going to be its return trip. This came with just a larger brush with mixed bristles, the dryer attachments and two rods, the rods don't have the dial switch, a nice hard box it fits nicely in but and a very pretty ( I got the rose colored) soft leather sac like bag with compartments that everything fits easily in and its not obnoxiously big. Surprisingly even though larger than both the dyson and nora styler brush attachments this one worked great to get me volume at the roots, next I tried the curling rods, I do not know if it was because these were shorter but I got volume in the middle and the flippy backy bottoms I was trying for and was thrilled and surprised with the overall volume I got. I am even more thrilled that its almost 12 hours later and I am still fluffy like a peacock all of these attachments are ceramic which I think makes the difference in the staying , after about 6 hours in my Son said; your hair looks good did you do something different? ! I recently purchased the Dyson Airwrap Coanda 2x from Korea and wanted to share my thoughts, especially in comparison to my existing Airwrap ID. Motor & Airflow The Coanda 2x definitely feels more powerful than the Airwrap ID. Using the fast-dry attachment, the airflow felt as strong as my Dyson Supersonic Nural. I can’t compare it to the Supersonic R (since I don’t own one), but both the R and the Coanda 2x feature Dyson’s Hyperdymium motor. I also noticed the Coanda 2x runs hotter at the same settings compared to the ID. Body Size & Design The body of the Coanda 2x is slightly smaller and feels a bit lighter than the ID, though the difference isn’t drastic. Photos attached for reference. The plug resembles that of the Dyson Airstrait. Attachments – Not Cross-Compatible Unfortunately, the Coanda 2x attachments are not compatible with previous Airwrap models, including the ID. However, they do feel more substantial and improved in quality. Barrels It comes with 30mm and 40mm barrels—both shorter than the conical and 40mm barrels of the ID. Despite that, they work just as well, even on my waist-length hair, and produce slightly tighter curls (see photo). According to Dyson Korea’s manual (Manual for Coanda 2x), a 20mm barrel and diffuser are also available for this model, though they weren’t included in my set and I’m unsure if they can be purchased separately. Smoothing Brush The new smoothing brush features longer, firmer bristles that flare outward—almost like crab legs (see photo). It grips hair better, which I imagine would be great for those with curlier textures. 3. Fast Dry Attachment With the enhanced motor, this attachment really lives up to its name. It dried my hair as fast—if not faster—than the Supersonic Nural. I’d say the Nural is just slightly hotter, but the performance is comparable. 4. Straightening Attachment This attachment was a standout for me. It works on dry hair and managed to straighten my previously curled strands in a single pass—no water or product required (see photo). Once you press the power button, the attachment automatically clamps onto the hair, and the motor usually stops on its own after each pass—about 95% of the time. I suspect there’s a built-in sensor, though I haven’t confirmed that. It’s also great for creating soft C-curls. Interestingly, I found it also works well on hair that’s around 80% damp, even though it’s not specifically marketed for wet use. 5. Round Brush The round brush is noticeably smaller than the ID’s, but the bristles are similar to the smoothing brush—firm and grippy. It produced a smoother, more polished blowout, and the smaller size worked well for my fine hair. That said, I hope Dyson eventually releases a larger round brush for this model. Controls & Automation The Coanda 2x features a standard power button and a slim, elongated cool shot button. Holding the power button for five seconds toggles the “ID curl” feature, letting you switch between manual and app-programmed settings (just like the ID). Once the settings are synced via the MyDyson app, you can use the device independent of your phone. The straightening attachment also seems automated, but I haven’t changed any app settings and it’s been performing great on default. One note: pressing the power button doesn’t shut it off —when not in use, it goes into standby and powers down on its own after a short while. I bought a refurbished Dyson Air. US-based ako. Sa awa ng Diyos gumagana pa din! I heard Dyson’s customer/after sales service is 💩 I was struggling to use it because I have short hair a year ago and clueless. I’m still testing products out and watching a bunch of reels on tips and tricks for using the Airwrap. Things I did: I’m not doing hair masks and hair conditioners as often. I have Kerastase Hair Mask Nutritive and Biolage Matrix HydraSource Conditioner. Pansin ko bumigat lang lalo buhok ko, hirap tumagal yung curls. Shampoos, I change it up, and I’m quite inconsistent because I’m using a medicated shampoo: ketonazole shampoo (I have bad dandruff and it works), Head and Shoulders, and Biolage Matrix HydraSource Shampoo. Followed a lot of hair content creators but the two main ones are: lucymaedrewek (Aha moment for me with her hair sectioning tips and rollers) and abigaillinnn (asian hair type). I’m still trying to find a content creator who’ll do a timelapse with their curls. I try to follow a lot of asian hair type na mga content creator. Additional products: Redken Root Lifter, JVN Milk Blowout Cream (now this one made my hair soft to touch, tipong ph shampoo commercial “walang sabit”), Kerastase Elixir Hair Oil (after rollers my hair gets frizzy this fixes it plus extra shine), Joico Power Setting Spray (I don’t like the crunchy feeling, but it also made my curls last), Kerastase Heat Protectant Genesis. Products I’m 50:50: Kerastase Overnight Hair Serum, and It’s a 10 hair cream. I posted it about a month or two months ago, silk bonnet, struggling to use kasi it keeps falling off and nawawala yung volume, sleepy ties naman it gets loose during the night, the satin pillow case is meh but I’m not going to use a cotton pillow case mas lala yung frizz. I bought the other Dyson extension blade concentrator, mas mabilis yung drying. The bigger round brush, I couldn’t use it sobrang init I feel like mg hair is going to get fried. Drying, about 70-80% dry is perfect for me. Kung sobrang tuyo hindi kakapit and it’s not going to last. I use hair rollers after then hair spray it. After I’ve put all the rollers I hairspray it aggressively and leave it for 30 mins. Pondered tots, I was talking to a friend who recently bought an airwrap and she was disappointed it didn’t last long (turns out she wasn’t using any products). A year ago she told me to just buy the shark one (cheaper) eh ako well you do you and I do me, my money is set to buy dyson. I was surprised she bought and buy the airwrap. It’s not a perm (it’s not going to kast for months HAHA), and set a realistic expectation on your hair. I hope I saved one of those before and after performer/artists hair when they do concerts, talagang mejo nawawala yung kulot nila. Kaya sana may influencer na mag post about how long their curl last. Asian hair pa so resistant 🙃 some girls, hair wash day is every 4-5 days, ako I kennat, two days are enough or else I’ll get a headache. And its okay if we don’t get to day 4/5. Everybody is different and living in different climates. Kung nasa Pinas ako feel ko everyday ako magsha-shampoo. just enjoy the process, I always look forward to hair day, it’s like a pamper/self care day. I’ve been loving it so far. I’ve been using the airwrap since December and my hair has started getting really tangled and looks/feels damaged. I’ve also started seeing breakage and lots of short hairs on the top of my head. Before purchasing the airwrap, I used to use a curling wand and a straightener weekly and my hair never looked like this. However, since the Dyson doesn’t hold a curl well for me (unlike my curling wand), I have been using it multiple times a week to refresh the curls 🥲 Has anyone noticed similar hair condition deterioration? I got it as a gift for my birthday and researched so much beforehand. I was sure I would love it. I have fine, thin, curly bleached hair and I was looking for a substitute for my old GHD straightener as I wanted something less damaging and fast. Judging from the reviews the Airwrap should have been perfect. Unfortunately it makes my thin hair extremely frizzy as it blows all the short hairs in different directions. My hair doesn’t turn near as straight as I want it. With the straightener it’s perfect after one pass. With the Airwrap I do multiple passes and it just turns into a frizzy, dry, dull mess like it does with any cheap blower and a brush. It gives me that fluffy cotton candy look, that I think fine curly/wavy hair is prone to. Anyone with similar experience? I’m trying not to cry for spending 600$ on a useless blow dryer I can’t return. I’ll try selling it but I doubt anyone will buy it.
