The difference between Etsy digital products that make $0 and ones that make $500/month comes down to one thing
It's not the design. It's not the price. It's not SEO tags. It's specificity. "Daily planner", 50,000 listings. You're invisible. "Daily planner for ADHD college students with late diagnosis", 12 listings. You're page one. "Meal prep guide", saturated garbage. "Meal prep guide for parents of toddlers with food allergies" — almost nothing exists. "Wedding checklist", good luck competing. "Destination wedding planning checklist for couples doing it without a planner", 4 results on Etsy. The pattern is always the same. Take a broad topic that proves demand exists, then narrow it to a specific person with a specific situation. The broad niche tells you people spend money here. The narrow angle tells you nobody is serving THIS person yet. I've been analyzing niches obsessively for months and the formula holds every time. The products that sell aren't better designed. They're better targeted. Three questions that find profitable angles: Who is the SPECIFIC person with this problem? (not "women", "first-time moms going back to work after 12 months of leave") What makes their version of this problem DIFFERENT from the generic version? (not "stress", "the specific anxiety of leaving your baby with a stranger for the first time") What format solves it FASTEST? (not a 200-page ebook, a one-page checklist they can use tomorrow morning) If you can answer all three, you have a niche that probably has demand and almost no competition. submitted by /u/Existing-Ice221 to r/passive_income [link] [comments]

I sell 3-4 digital products a week on Etsy, each one takes me about 10 minutes to create. Here's the process.
I see a lot of "what digital product should I sell?" posts here so I figured I'd break down exactly what's working for me right now. The short version: I find hyper-specific emotional niches, generate the full product with AI, and list on Etsy. One of my products has been doing 3-4 sales/week at ~$20 USD consistently. Real example, my best performer right now: The niche is ADHD emotional dysregulation. Not "ADHD productivity", that market is a bloodbath. I'm talking about the specific experience of exploding on someone you love and then spending three days drowning in shame. Millions of adults are getting diagnosed right now and almost nobody is building structured tools for the emotional side. The product is a 60-page printable workbook called "ADHD Flashpoint System", 8 chapters covering trigger mapping, a 90-second intercept protocol, post-meltdown repair, relationship rebuilding, the whole cycle. Cover, listing copy, table of contents, everything. Total creation time: about 10 minutes. How I pick niches that actually sell: I've tested dozens at this point. The pattern is clear, broad fails, specific wins. "ADHD planner" = buried on page 9. "Map your triggers before they detonate" = someone reads that and pulls out their credit card. The three things I look for: specific identity (not just "adults", adults with ADHD who struggle with emotional explosions), emotional urgency (they're googling this at 2am after a fight), and low competition (nobody else is solving this exact problem well). How I create them so fast: I use AI to generate the full product, content, structure, chapter outlines, cover image, listing copy. I built my own workflow for this because the generic "use ChatGPT to make a PDF" approach produces garbage that doesn't sell. The key is the niche research upfront, if you nail the niche, the product almost writes itself. What I'd tell someone starting from zero: Stop asking "what product should I make." Start asking "who has a painful specific problem that nobody is solving?" Browse Reddit communities, therapy forums, support groups. Look for the same complaint showing up over and over with no good solution. That's your niche. Happy to go deeper on any part of this. submitted by /u/Existing-Ice221 to r/thesidehustle [link] [comments]

Starting a digital products business in 2026
Hi, everyone! As a 21 year old girl, who is currently working and studying at the same time, i would love to start my own shop selling digital products for extra income. However, after weeks of research, I still encounter difficulties choosing a niche. Currently, I believe that this shop will start only as a side hustle, but I expect it to evolve in a full blown business. To which i will dedicate most of my time, instead of working a 9-5. Before setting up the shop, I decided to do some products in advance to see how the process would go. I am a graphic designer, as well as a web designer, so this type of stuff comes pretty naturally to me. So far I started working on restaurant menus, then on travel agency products, then on fitness coaching templates, but none of these niches seem really perspective to me. I am currently thinking on trying to create shopify/wix website templates and probably sell them on etsy? I am not quite sure and this niche seems to be high-demand and not as saturated as others.

Is Etsy the place to sell these type of templates? submitted by /u/Vivid-Equal-1746 to r/EtsySellers [link] [comments]

Hit $3k this month selling digital products
Not the biggest number here but it’s a milestone for me so wanted to share what worked. Started 8 months ago after losing my job. I sell Canva and Notion templates on Etsy, Gumroad, and Creative Market. First 3 months were rough, made like $300 total. I was creating stuff I liked instead of what people actually wanted. Game changer was looking at what people searched for on Etsy and Pinterest. What worked: Bundles sell way better than single products. A $27 bundle moves faster than a $7 template even though they take the same time to make. Etsy SEO isn’t optional. Boring but necessary if you want to be found. Quality over quantity. 10 good products beat 50 mediocre ones. What didn’t work: Pinterest ads (wasted $200), daily Instagram posting (low conversions), lowering prices (attracts problem customers). November breakdown: $1,840 Etsy, $780 Gumroad, $420 Creative Market. Still takes about 10 hours a week for customer service and new uploads. Not truly passive but beats a 9-5. submitted by /u/NextGenBusiness1 to r/passive_income [link] [comments]

[HELP] Etsy seller assures me he only enhanced these images to represent the products quality better.
Personally I think it's AI due to a few things. I know good leather can be strong, but to have the wooden hammer hang straight without the head weiging it a bit down makes it look AI generated, but I'm not 100% certain. The image itself looks weird in a way I can't really describe, but it can be what he said he had done through editing. Before I spend 100+ hours creating digital products for Etsy… someone tell me if it’s actually worth it or just hype.
Hey everyone, I’ve been planning to start selling digital products on Etsy — things like templates, planners, social media designs, etc. Before I dive deep and spend hours creating products, optimizing SEO, and doing research… I want to know from people who’ve actually tried it: 🫸🏼 Is it still worth it in 2025? Are digital products still selling well? How long did it take before you saw your first sale? Is Etsy too saturated, or is there still room for new sellers? What types of digital products perform best? Is the time investment actually worth it long-term? I’m ready to put in the effort — I just don’t want to spend months creating products if the platform is already “dead” for new digital sellers. Looking for honest experiences (good or bad). Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Agreeable_Menu8571 to r/EtsySellers [link] [comments]

I want to give selling digital products on etsy a try. Is it worth it?
I am 20 and going to finish college in 4-5 months. Before the college ends i want to be independent or atleast earn 500-600 dollars a month so that i can manage my studies further. My parents cant afford my higher studies. I came across people selling digital products on etsy and earning a decent amount. Now i dont know if its true or fake. Any experienced etsy seller here that can help me? Is is worth the time? I have spent a lot of time researching about it and the niches and got stressed out because couldn’t figure out what would sell. Games Workshop Mass-Reported My Etsy Shop for “Infringement” on Products That Aren’t Even Related — Etsy Is About to Ban Us and Offers Zero Support
I’m honestly at my breaking point and need to vent and get some advice. Games Workshop has recently gone on what feels like a mass-reporting spree and flagged a huge number of our Etsy listings for “IP infringement”… even though the products they targeted are completely unrelated to anything they make. These weren’t fan models, derivatives, or anything tied to their universes. Just original items and models that have nothing to do with GW’s IP. Despite that, Etsy instantly removed the listings without asking for any evidence from GW. No review. No verification. Nothing. Just deleted. And because of the volume of takedowns — which again, are for items that have zero connection to their IP — Etsy is now threatening to ban our entire shop. This shop is our family’s only source of income. We spend over €2,000 a month on Etsy ads alone, and there is literally no support. The only way to contact them is through their live chat, and the responses are basically scripted non-answers. No appeals process. No way to provide proof. No way to challenge the claims. Nothing. To make it worse, it genuinely feels like we’ve been singled out. The only “reason” we can even guess at is that we sell Warp Miniatures products — which, again, are 100% unrelated to anything GW produces. But it feels like GW just decided to nuke our shop anyway. I’m devastated. Our livelihood is on the line because Etsy accepts IP claims with zero evidence and punishes sellers instantly, while giving brands the power to take down whatever they want, even when it makes absolutely no sense. Has anyone dealt with anything like this? Is there ANY way to get Etsy to actually look at a case before banning an entire shop? Or to get GW to retract a wrongful claim? I’m out of ideas and honestly terrified of what happens next. submitted by /u/taylonius333 to r/3Dprinting [link] [comments]

I paid €1,352 and I haven't received the product, nor can I ask Etsy for help. I need your help :-´(
At the end of May, I bought a dining table and paid €1,352 for it. The seller is in Croatia and I am in Spain. For a while, I received updates from the seller, but a long time passed and I did not receive the product. I contacted the seller and that's when a series of excuses began, saying that they couldn't find a shipping company, that they were trying to find one but couldn't... At one point, I offered to pay him €200 so that he would have more resources to pay a transport company. (I paid him via PayPal friend). Since then, I haven't heard anything... I've been writing to him for several weeks without getting a response... Today, tired of this situation, I tried to get my money back through Etsy. To my surprise, they won't let me open a case because they say it's been more than 100 days since the estimated delivery date. I have asked the seller for help in getting a refund. But if he hasn't replied before, I don't think he will now... I am very distressed because I feel cheated. I paid for the product and I haven't received anything. Etsy won't let me open a case and I don't know what to do to get my money back. Please, I need help and advice. I feel sad and devastated... *** Edited to provide additional information *** It appears that this store has removed all of its items from Etsy. Etsy also does not allow you to view previous comments and ratings, error 404. I believe this makes my situation even more unfair: Etsy allows a store to leave Etsy with items that have been paid for but not shipped, and they consider it appropriate to notify the buyer. submitted by /u/Azicuetano to r/Etsy [link] [comments]

5 digital product ideas that are actually selling right now on Etsy
I went down a bit of a rabbit hole for a few days, trying to find what's actually selling on Etsy. I was looking for stuff that solves a real problem for a passionate group of people. Here are five of the coolest ones I found. Hopefully, this helps someone out. 1. Spreadsheets for small businesses A great example is a home bakery business kit. It's a bundle of templates for the huge amount of people starting baking businesses from home. This works for any small business, really, but the home bakery one is selling like crazy. 2. The Gamify Your Life planner This one is really interesting. It can be made for iPad apps like Goodnotes or in Notion, so you can just pick whichever app you know best. It's basically a planner for people who hate planners. The whole thing is designed like a video game character sheet where your goals are quests, your habits are skills, and you get XP for finishing tasks. It's a total game-changer for people who need that extra motivation, and the competition is still really low. You can still be one of the first. 3. The co-parenting planner This is another planner niche, but I'm telling you, this is gold right now. If you search for it on Etsy, you'll see a ton of bestsellers, but the competition is surprisingly low. It's a great way to get into digital planners without fighting in the most saturated categories. It's a set of structured templates to help divorced or separated parents manage their kids' lives. It solves a massive, emotionally charged problem, and people will absolutely pay for tools that promise to reduce conflict. 4. Digital junk journal kit I know, the junk journal niche seems super saturated, but there's still plenty of room if you get specific. Look up keywords like "digital junk journaling folding folio" or "cozy reading folio", there's real opportunity there for new sellers. Junk journaling is a huge hobby, and the digital version for iPad users is growing fast. You're selling creative tools to creative people. 5. Procreate World-builder toolkit Instead of just selling Procreate brushes, people are selling a complete creator kit for a specific type of artist. A huge one is for fantasy authors and D&D players who want to draw their own maps. You're not just selling a single tool, you're selling a complete solution. Your customer isn't just buying brushes, they're buying their fantasy world. You can bundle things like fantasy map brushes (for mountains, castles), pre-made parchment textures, and banner stamps for city names. The pattern here is pretty clear: find a passionate group, solve a specific problem. But don't just take my word for it. The best part about these niches is that they're real and verifiable. I highly encourage you to use this post as a starting point. Go on Etsy, type these exact keywords in, and see for yourself what the bestsellers are doing. That's where the real learning begins. My main goal here was just to show that there are still tons of opportunities out there if you're willing to dig a little deeper. Etsy Left Me Hanging: Lost €2200 + Shipping, Products Gone, Buyer Reselling, No Response from Support—My Family with a 3yo Depends on This. Sellers, Beware!
Hi everyone, I’m a small Etsy seller, and I’m absolutely gutted and frustrated by what’s happened to my shop. I need to vent, get advice, and warn other sellers about relying on Etsy. My family, including my 3-year-old, depends on my shop to make ends meet, and this situation has left me feeling helpless. I had an order for 55 breadboards. The buyer claimed 6 were damaged and said they didn’t like the rest. Fine, issues happen—but they refused to return anything, which goes against Etsy’s own return policies. Despite this, Etsy gave them a full refund, costing me €2200 plus shipping fees. I’m out all my products, and to top it off, I’ve heard the buyer is reselling my items for profit! I’m basically paying them to steal from me. I’ve reached out to Etsy’s support multiple times, begging for help or even just a response, but it’s been radio silence. No explanation, no follow-up—nothing. This loss is crushing my small business. My shop isn’t just a side hustle; it’s how I provide for my family, including my little 3-year-old. Every day without a resolution feels like a betrayal from a platform I trusted. To all Etsy sellers out there: be cautious. I never thought I’d be in this position, but Etsy’s lack of support for sellers in cases like this is a wake-up call. I’m warning anyone who depends on this platform for their livelihood—don’t assume they’ll have your back. Has anyone dealt with something like this? How did you get Etsy to respond? I’ve filed an appeal, but with no replies, I’m at a loss. Should I keep pushing Etsy, go public on other platforms like X, or is there a legal route? Any advice would mean the world to me and my family. Thanks for reading, and please, if you’re an Etsy seller, watch out. This could happen to you. I made a print in place magnetic Stick Lock for my controller taking inspiration from a product sold on Etsy. If I publish mine for free, will I have troubles?
I couldn’t find a stick lock for the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 since it came out recently, and the “universal” ones available sucked. I want to publish the step files so that people can easily remix mine to make it fit their controller (in the pics I haven’t put the magnets yet in case anyone was wondering) submitted by /u/Ihadtosubscribe to r/3Dprinting [link] [comments]

Took all my Jewish products off Etsy and now I am getting orders.
I had a pretty successful Etsy shop. I sell mostly costumes accessories. I also, had Jewish stuff stickers, children’s toys and magnets. My store had grind to a halt on order except my Jewish stuff. With great reluctance I decided to take off all my Jewish stuff for a few month and see if it made a difference. I do understand that business is slow for everyone. So I wasn’t expecting much. A day after the removal 2 orders. Then a few more. It Easter so it slow and we will see. I feel torn and feel like a traitor to my people. In order to do business I have to hide my identity. This makes me so sad. I can’t believe this is the Jewish reality. I never thought I would hide. I mean if they see my socials I am not hiding. Fortunately, they are not researching my social. I just cannot believe this is real. submitted by /u/Mimigirl7 to r/Jewish [link] [comments]

LPT: Find something you want on Etsy or Amazon? Reverse search the image. A lot of the time the product is actually a dropshipped item from eBay or Aliexpress, at a significantly lower price
EBay does a similar money back policy to Etsy/Amazon for items that don’t match their description. Both eBay and Aliexpress have image search functions and you can filter by product rating. submitted by /u/fairyfloss17 to r/LifeProTips [link] [comments]
