After/Before Makeup
Been super duper insecure about my skin and face more than usual lately, Just thought i’d share some realness with y’all and show the acne/texture/discolouration I have + uneven face in full HDR, and how it looks with makeup on top…. haaaate the texture around my mouth and nose but trying hard to see past it, no amount of foundation or concealer will hide that. It’s just that time of the month where my skin does what it wants no matter what skincare or makeup I do lol. Also am currently using epiduo gel (differin + benzoyl peroxide) for my acne and that causes some dryness as you can see under my nose…. I’ve been struggling with bad oily/acne prone skin all my life and makeup has helped me feel more confident throughout the years! Here’s the list of products I used for this look: Skin Prep •Geek & Gorgeous stress less serum •Geek & Gorgeous Hydration station moisturiser •Cosrx Ultra-Light invisible sunscreen Base • Estée Lauder double wear - 4W1 • L’oreal true match radiant serum concealer - 4N • Kiko Milano sculpting touch creamy stick contour - 202 (used to shade nose + eyelid + cheekbones) • Sheglam Smart cookie palette (I know it’s eyeshadow but sometimes I use the warm shades as a bronzer don’t come for me) • Nyx butter melt blush - my butta half 01 • Maybelline fit me pressed powder - 120 classic ivory (I use a little to set my concealer with a small brush, then use a big kabuki brush of this wherever I get oily) • I am also using a touch of a matte white highlighter I found on amazon on my nose and under my eyebrows Eyebrows + eyes • Maybelline Super lock brow glue - 000 Clear • Kiko Milano eyebrow marker - 04 • Elf instant lift eyebrow pencil - Deep brown • Kissme Heroine Mascara Waterproof - black • Nyx Epic Ink liner - 01 Black • Kiko Milano Colour Kajal Kohl pencil - 03 (used to highlight inner corners) Lips • Maybelline lifter liner - 05 on it • YSL love shine candy glaze - 03 (just in the middle of bottom lip, then I spread it with my finger all around) • I forgot to add a little moisture to my dry azz lips before taking the pictures but I am also using a touch of Sosu Lip Glaze in Almond Butter! I do still need to buy a highlighter and a proper bronzer, I’ve been eyeing haus labs glassy balm highlighter stick in champagne quartz for the highlighter. Do let me know if you’ve tried this! and recs for bronzer that isn’t too red/orange as well if possible :( EDIT: Just want to note that this is not my daily makeup. It is not the cause of my acne OR making it worse. Makeup when applied properly with the right products will sit just fine on top of it. Besides, I go most days without wearing any at all because i’m a hermit that doesn’t like to leave to house :D and when I do, it depends what situation i’m about to be in and i’ll match my makeup to that. I would wear heavy makeup like this more for a night out, date, if i feel like it or if i’m even bothered. This shit takes at least 40 mins lmao. My go to if I wanna look alive is my eyebrow + eye combo and elf plums up lip tint on my lip and cheek submitted by

Best Asian Beauty shadow sticks?
Looking for a dupe for this Mecca Max Zoom Shadow Stick in Mauve (but also open to general recommendations, not just this colour!) I believe this shadow stick is a product that's only available in New Zealand and Australia? Anyway, I love eyeshadow sticks for their speed and ease of use and I absolutely love this mauve shade. It's a perfect purple-toned brownish shade. This one has a bit of shimmer to it, but I don't really mind if it has shimmer or not. Any ideas and recommendations appreciated! Eyeshadows are great but I just really enjoy sticks for the no-fuss win. Who's with me lol! submitted by /u/bigblackfatbird to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

I want to love Eyeshadow Sticks
I have probably spent $1000 on eyeshadow sticks throughout the years, and want to love them so much. They are easy and no fallout. Since turning 50, my skin has changed and I am having to change things up a bit. The shades of eyeshadow sticks seem to be a little off from the powder, and I like the powdery feathering of powder. If you have been in my situation, what has helped you bridge to sticks, because I am determined. Please don’t tell me just to use powder, that is not the reason for my post. submitted by /u/twohotpeppers to r/Makeup [link] [comments]

28 but mistaken for mid to late 30s by other women in a recent group setting
hi everyone, firstly I'll start by saying yes, my eyeliner isn't blended into the top of my eye in this photo, it's a little blocky, my bad. this is usually my go-to look. I use the elf moisturizer foundation with a small amount of finishing powder, I keep my eyes light with minimal eyeshadow, light mascara and do a very tiny eyeliner on the corners. Nothing complicated, easy on my skin, and quick. I recently attended my nieces wedding dress finding/fitting thing and there were lots of women there. We all were talking about personal lives and when I mentioned I was younger than 30, many of the women were quite shocked. The youngest guess I got was 35. I laughed it off initially but now I'm bothered, as the upcoming wedding is a big deal for me. I have been kind of a mental case for a few years and only recently found my footing. I'm finally mentally at peace and can talk more normally to people without insane anxiety or having panic attacks. At this event I'll be seeing family I'm close with as well as family that haven't seen me for a while. I'm trying not to care about this, but I want to show how well I'm doing and not be the unmentionable nutcase. Am I doing something wrong? what could I be improving? today I'm dress shopping and I need to make sure everything is just right. I don't want people to see me and think I'm 10 years older than I am. Or feel like I stick out from others. I need advice. It is getting to me more than I'd like to admit. submitted by /u/nawiweidmann to r/makeuptips [link] [comments]

AITAH for refusing to see my little sister anymore because she keeps destroying my stuff?
I (19f) have a younger sister (10f). I left my parents' house 3 years ago to go to college but I still come home very often, at least once a month/once every 2 weeks. My room was left exactly as it was, clean and tidy. For the past year, every time I have come home (more or less) I have found something of mine broken in my room. It could be my books that were in a terrible state, all my old notes from high school that I meticulously kept thrown on the floor, my legos completely destroyed with pieces missing, she even broke one of my vinyls. It made me so angry every single time because I'm really careful with my stuff, and I like to keep it in a good condition. She also destroyed a lot of things that had value, either real value or sentimental value. Recently, she's been playing with my makeup. Every time I leave anything behind she takes it and puts it all over her face, she breaks my lipsticks, empties my concealers, puts my glittery eyeshadow all over the rest of my stuff, and so on and so forth. She gets yelled at for it every time, and yet she continues to do the exact same thing over and over again. I tried taking everything away. The stuff that I cared about in my room I took with me to college, or I locked away so that she wouldn't have access to it. I lock my room every time I leave my parents' house. I never leave my makeup bag in the bathroom, or anywhere she can access it anymore. But still, if I look away for a split second, if she has the slightest opportunity to ruin something of mine she does it. I don't know why she does that. She's been seeing therapists and all that kind of stuff for a while now because she keeps acting like this, following impulse and creating huge messes all the time, but I still don't really know why. I thought maybe it was revenge, to show me that she's mad at me for leaving. She doesn't really do that as much with everyone else's stuff. But anyways, I decided that since she couldn't stop breaking my stuff, I would lock my room all the time and when I came home I'd only go where she wasn't. My parents are divorced, so whenever she's at my dad's I'd go to my mom's and vice versa. She's been crying since I told her and keeps screaming at me that I'm mean and the worst big sister ever. My parents think that I'm being a little harsh on her, and that I won't actually stick to it, but I really intend on it. I know that she's just a child and that she probably doesn't mean to do all that stuff but I'm genuinely so tired of it. She has broken hundreds of dollars worth of my stuff, and I just want it to stop, and since she won't stop by herself the easiest solution is to never see her anymore. I know it might seem ridiculous that I'm going to such lengths when at the end of the day it's just stuff, but it meant a lot to me and it makes me so angry and frustrated every single time that I don't want to deal with it anymore. Does that make me a bad person? Edit: Just a little clarification on some points because some people have been wondering/assuming things about this and I just want to set the record straight. My parents got divorced when she was 3, so she never really knew another situation than how things are now, and it's not like, a recent thing or anything. The divorce was also not messy at all, and my parents are still friends and see each other really often, we go on holidays with both of them together, they often eat at each other's houses etc. Not to say that it doesn't have any impact on her but I don't think it's the cause to her behavior because the situation has been the same for years but she only started acting like this recently. I also saw people saying that it must be hard for her to now be alone with my parents and want to clarify: I have two other siblings (17 and 13) with who she is close and spends a lot of time. Another thing I wanted to clarify is that she's not neglected, my parents actually spend a lot of time with her, as well as my grandmother and my other siblings. She is never home alone, and if she is it's never for more than a few minutes. My parents aren't the best but they are definitely around, and they are now a lot more present than they were for my brother (17) and me, mostly because they have a lot more free time now than they did back when we were her age. submitted by /u/Dense_Attention_5381 to r/AITAH [link] [comments]

As someone who has struggled with colorism, texturism, and featurism, I am so happy a dark-skinned Black girl can see me on TV!!! It means something to me!!! 😭 😭 (I'm not sure if it's okay to show the full picture since it mentions a book, but alas please let me know mods!!!) P.S. I did my own makeup so happy to share those details! P.S.S. It seems like it's okay to share the segment, so here it is! P.S.S. My name is Anna Gifty and I'm online as itsafronomics (some of my posts have been on here lol) P.S.S.S. The feedback to this has been insane! Thank you for all the nice comments about my appearance and journey! I hope folks enjoy the segment and the book! Also if you're bigoted (or unnecessarily rude), I'm reporting you to the mods. Just ignore this if you don't care for it! :) ***************** Folks were asking about my look so here are some details: For hair: I was inspired by the Pinterest search "Afro and fulani braids" For makeup: Danessa Myricks blurring balm, glow serum, and blush; Fenty skin tint stick, bronzer, mascara, gloss, and Caviar matchstick for the lips; Juvia's place eyeshadow for the glow; NYX eyeliner; Benefit brow; Teeth - I use Crest 3d whitening toothpaste, but never have used the strips For the fit: Peter Som x Rent the Runway submitted by /u/Affectionate_Pea_243 to r/BlackPeopleofReddit [link] [comments]

I've recently changed over to using eyeshadow sticks instead of powder. I see a ton of them available on YesStyle, but am not familiar enough with the brands to know what to choose. Would love feedback on which ones you like! Which ones have good pigment and staying power? submitted by /u/Charming_Mud_429 to r/AsianBeauty [link] [comments]

Eyeshadow Sticks
Am I the only one that doesn’t like eyeshadow sticks? I went to the Bobbi Brown site and filtered by eyeshadow and most all eyeshadows were sticks. submitted by /u/curiousjane456 to r/Makeup [link] [comments]

Best eyeshadow sticks for "mature" eyes
I am pretty young, but the skin around my eyes is just naturally loose and a little wrinkly and it always kinda has been. This means products can be tedious to blend bc of all the folds in my skin and if the product sets too fast it just ends up looking bad and patchy. At the same time bc of all the extra skin folds it also needs to be something that actually stays and doesn't crease too much which has me in a bit of a pickle. Does anyone have recommendations for an affordable eyeshadow that accommodates these needs? I really want a dark-ish brown matte (cool/warm/neutral is not important) similar to the Laura Mercier caviar stick in Café Noir or Dark Cocoa. I heard a lot of good about these, but I'm a broke ass student who doesn't wear makeup that often so I really can't justify the price point for that one. submitted by /u/houbatsky to r/drugstoreMUA [link] [comments]

I am a DV survivor. I refuse to give ELF my money. I have made a list of popular products from ELF, against what one can use instead. Hope this helps!!
This is not an exhaustive list - in the comments please feel free to discuss and add suggestions. Hope this can be pinned. I will not even use the product names, because i won't give elf even that much free marketing. I hope the descriptor will be clear enough. There will be a separate thread for ELF skincare which will also provide alternatives for their subsidiary: rhode by hailey beiber, keys wellness, naturium and w3ll people. you can find the skincare list here GRIPPY PRIMER McCoMakeup Grip Primer Maybelline grippy primer revlon colorstay grip primer NYX the face glue. ETA: not including sheglam because that's shein's makeup brand which is... not... great. milani has been struck from this list as they publicly sided with johnny depp during the trial. unfortunately, this list is not bds safe because i typed it from memory, and its gets pretty hard to keep track of who is the parent company of which brand. so i urge everyone to do their own research, as it will take me a couple of days to track down the parent company of each brand and then mark them safe on the list. meanwhile, here is the bds list - https://boycott.thewitness.news/categories/cosmetics submitted by /u/SexyFoodandFilms to r/drugstoreMUA [link] [comments]

Hi! Trans girl is now less new to makeup! (Update post)
Hi! Y'all were super sweet and super encouraging when I posted last, and it makes me so happy to see y'all treat us trans girls so nicely! Before delving into the main point, I want to talk about eyebrows. Last time, there was a lot of discussion about my eyebrows (and i wasn't at all expecting it): a lot of folks said they should get trimmed or waxed, a lot said to keep them. So, fully honest here, I love my natural eyebrows (maybe more than the new ones)! But I did choose to get them threaded~ the reason, ultimately, is a personal reason: I had never done it before, and they grow back; so, it would be fun to try something new! Hopefully I'll keep posting over the next several months, and y'all will see me with a few different versions of brows, some more trimmed, some less; some bold, some feathery. In the end, I'll probably end up near a cleaned up version of where I started, but let's enjoy the ride! On to the makeup! So, I tried to work with the advice I received, and get a lighter foundation. I sort of got better at that. I also got a new foundation. More on that later. I also tried a peach lipstick, and worked with more browns and mauves. I also tried some more peach blush, too. And shaving. Look, there's lots of advice, and im still working on following some of it, line experimenting with blues and mauves in eyeshadow. But I think y'all helped me improve my natural looks which is such a huge help at work. And also, progress is not linear. I got a new foundation and a foundation match. Now a liquid foundation. Those are the last few pictures. And the first couple days were... awkward. I had to relearn a lot of things. I had to unlearn some others. One morning, I just sat still and experimented with different ratios if mixing the new liquid foundation with color correction and concealer. But at the end, with the last picture in makeup, I think I ended up with one of my best looks! And finally got a darker blush to work, too. I also included a picture of just my face, without makeup, so y'all know what I'm working with. I have a case of persistent rosacea. I'm still experimenting with what sort of skincare makes my skin happier. As for my products, I'm working with a skin tint (previously foundation balm), putty concealer, powder bronzer, powder blush (pink, peach with sparkles, and a brownish red), lip liners, lip gloss and stick and tint and plumpers, brown and black eyeliner, brown and black mascara, brown brow pencil, brown tinted brow gel, orange and green color corrector, concealer, a setting spray + sunscreeb, and highlighter. Application is a set of brushes, a sponge, and 10 phalanges. Anywho, I'll keep learning, and I'd love to hear what I can do better! Thanks a ton! submitted by /u/Accomplished-Bed1054 to r/MakeupEducation [link] [comments]

Eyeshadow sticks
I am addicted! I have to be at work at 7am, so I’m always looking for ways to do my makeup quick while not sacrificing setting myself up for longevity. I recently tried eyeshadow sticks from Bobbi Brown, About Face, Colourpop, Kiko Milano, and Half Magic… wow! I think it takes me about half the time to do my eyes as before. The Bobbi Brown ones are my favorite, followed by Kiko Milano and Half Magic. Those three are easy to blend, have great colors, and last all day. I am happy to swatch if anyone is interested. The About Face and Colourpop ones are definitely harder to work with. About Face doesn’t blend as much, and stays where you put it. I like to use it under my bottom lash line to add a little color. The ones from Colourpop are drier and patchy, so definitely don’t recommend. I’m interested in trying the ones from Moira, but if you have any other suggestions, I’m all ears! submitted by /u/MistressofEvil1 to r/MakeupAddiction [link] [comments]

Can someone explain how you use eyeshadow sticks? Do you just use that one color over your entire lid? What do you think of them?
I learned one eye makeup look and I've dogmatically subscribed to it ever since - lighter in the center, slightly darker in the crease, gradually blending into a dark outer corner, and glitter in the center. The concept of just using a single color as eyeshadow? Heresy. Please convince me that using a single color cream eyeshadow stick is a Look. Do you just use it over your entire eyelid? Should it be lighter or darker than your skintone? Matte or glittery? Also, please post photos of eyeshadow stick looks if you feel inclined, I'd love to get some inspiration. submitted by /u/hauntedflowers22 to r/Makeup [link] [comments]

Cream Eyeshadow Sticks
Does anyone have any good recs for more affordable cream eyeshadow sticks? I have a By Terry one that i ADORE and needs replacing but i just can’t justify that price - i got the first one as a sample. Particularly looking for super easy blending for more lowkey eye looks! submitted by /u/booksinnightclubs to r/AustralianMakeup [link] [comments]
