What to do if I don’t have lights or fans?
Besides for box fans and lamps I’m trying to see what solutions you might have come up with. I have light switches attached to outlets. I’m thinking about getting an outdoor fan I can screw into the ceiling but I’m a little scared to mess anything up. My electric bill is going to go through the roof having my AC set to 69 so I don’t sweat at night. Currently just running a night stand fan but it’s loud and looks a little trashy. submitted by /u/Salt_Mango5505 to r/StPetersburgFL [link] [comments]

Matter enabled "fandelier" style ceiling fans?
This might be a stretch still, but I'm looking for options for a "Fandelier" style low profile ceiling fan and light for my kids bedroom (for bunkbed safety) preferably in white. With the addition of the altitude brand ( u/noraono ) at Lowe's etc. I'm hoping one will be available. The setup I have is a single switch to the fan, so the current larger 5 blade fan has a canopy module and wall controller by hunter. Thanks for any help with this! submitted by /u/zigwizard to r/HomeKit [link] [comments]

Fandelier vs ceiling fan for living room
I have a 48" ceiling fan with light in the living room (330sqft) that's old and not providing enough light, so I'm adding the recessed lights to the room. Also wanted to replace the old ceiling fan and am confused between a Fandelier or a regular Ceiling fan. With new recessed lights, I don't need additional lighting, so I can go with a Ceiling fan without light. And Fandelier might give the room an updated look and make it look bigger. But concerned it doesn't provide enough air circulation. Appreciate any insights. submitted by /u/Tight_Strain9296 to r/interiordecorating [link] [comments]

Are All Ceiling Fans Made the Same?
Replacing the ceiling fan in a small room in a bungalow style house with low ceilings. Is there a reason to purchase what looks like a strikingly similar "fandelier" from Lowes for $80 more just because it is branded with the Harbor Breeze name? I know they're not EXACTLY the same (blades are different). Harbor Breeze $155.98 (2 year Lowe's Protection Plan is $29.97) Oaks Decor $74.98 (2 year Lowe's Protection Plan is $14.97; 3 year is $15.97) submitted by /u/PMMeYourCokeRewards to r/Appliances [link] [comments]

Fandelier powered by 14/3 wire and dual outlet switch
I have recently ran 14/3 wire to be able to control a ceiling fan/ light combo with a dual smart switch. https://a.co/d/gOg3vqq The problem I am having is that my room is only 7’4” tall, and I tried installing a traditional 5-blade flush mount ceiling fan (AC power) and the fan was far too low in the room. The only fan/light combos I’m left to be able to use are the fandelier types, but they all have DC motors that are 24V and controlled by a remote. I really like this option, but with the DC step down converter they use in the fan, there is no way to control the light and fan separately. I am trying to avoid using another app/remote to control the fandelier and instead use the dual control smart switch. Has anyone run into this? There are virtually no Fandeliers with AC motors that I have found that directly accept the 110V/120V wire from the 14/3 like most traditional ceiling fans do. Any help would be appreciated! submitted by /u/Quirky-Rhubarb4187 to r/AskElectricians [link] [comments]

[Explore Top Rated fandelier ceiling fan on Amazon.] key Features Analysis The modern fandelier boasts a variety of features, each contributing to its overall performance and user experience. High-quality Dc motors will have an Energy Star rating, ensuring optimal efficiency and cost savings over time. Manufacturers should list the motor's wattage and RPM (revolutions per minute) at different speed settings. Blade Material and Design: Fandelier blades come in a variety of materials, including wood, metal, and plastic.Wood blades generally offer a more traditional aesthetic, while metal blades provide a modern, industrial look. Plastic blades are often more lightweight and easier to clean. The blade pitch, or the angle of the blades, is crucial for airflow. Smart DC Ceiling Fan Control - Any Ideas?
Hi There, - I posted this in r/Lutron, but figured there may be a broader HA solution that I am missing. I'm fully renovating an old victorian home, and in the process of wiring. I'm using Caseta Diva switches on all my light sources, and have stumbled into the tricky topic of ceiling fans. I want to avoid having to use the silly remotes that come with most ceiling fans/fandeliers, and with most fans being DC nowadays, i'm working to understand my options. Given there seems no Caseta option to control the fan and light on a single switch, I think each bedroom will need two Caseta switches. My plan is to have 1 Caseta Claro control the on/off of the fan. Then, next to that, I would use 1 Caseta Diva to control/dim the light on the ceiling fan. My concern is that some fans seem to do all the wiring control internally, and without heavy modification, you really are forced to just wire the on/off for the whole unit. This makes it difficult to have a physical wall switch to control the light (dimmer), and a seperate wall switch to control the fan (just on/off). Has anyone controlled DC Ceiling fans in a similar way, or have any other suggestions on how I can have smart control of both turning the fan on/off and light control with Caseta? A backup plan i'm investigating is to use a single Pico remote mapped in Home Assistant with Bond Bridge. Each button would be mapped to a "scene", that would trigger a bond bridge signal. (Light On, Light Off, Fan On, Fan Off). I expect this method would have more latency, as the bond bridge would receive the signal from the pico, then have to send out the RF command to the fan. This method also seems less user intuitve for guests, so I'd like to avoid this if there is a way to instead have independent controls for the fan and the light. Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it! submitted by /u/TreasureSociety to r/homeassistant [link] [comments]

Install Fandelier on this box?
I am looking at installing lightweight (8.38 lb) fandeliers in my house. I have 3 fans that are heavier so I assume the boxes are fan rated on those (have not started those yet). However, I took off the light in the office and found the box in the pictures. It is plastic and does not have any threaded holes on the box. The previous light fixture had one long screw going into one side and that was all. There is a screw hole going into the wood on one side. My questions are: Is this ok for a lightweight ceiling fan or is this box not rated for that? Would I just get longer wood screws same as what was in the light? The fan came with shorter machine screws and that won’t work here, I don’t think. Is it worth it to change these boxes with the fans? Me being a fat ass would probably not do well in the attic so if that has to occur, I’d probably pass. If I need to just install a light, that’s fine, too. I started with this room in anticipation that it might not be what I expected. Thanks for the help! submitted by /u/dextech13 to r/AskElectricians [link] [comments]

I am a deer in headlights when it comes to our primary bedroom. I can’t seem to nail down my style into any genres to find inspiration!! I want our bedroom to be soft, natural, romantic, colorful, vintage/antique touches but also a bit of modern masculinity so my husband doesn’t feel like he lives in a sorority house. Things I know: Purple has GOT to go. Also the grey bedding. I love the 2 dressers & night stand. They need some love in regards to the stain & hardware but are family pieces I’d like to keep. Crystal fandelier to replace the ceiling fan. Replace the current queen bed with a king (would like to keep the headboard style- solid wood vs upholstered) -mounted lights framing bed. -tv mounted -full length mirror -comfortable chair/cozy corner moment submitted by /u/Existing-Raccoon4060 to r/DesignMyRoom [link] [comments]

So called "bladeless" fans. Any good ones?
UPDATE: New unit installed with proper noise dampeners, thanks so much for all of your advice! Upstairs neighbor happy, nice new unit with a remote and lots of speed/lighting options, etc. Thanks again Reddit! ----------------- Long story short: Want to replace the ceiling fan in my bedroom because my upstairs neighbor is now complaining that the noise of my old unit's motor keeps her awake "and pervades not just the floors but my walls." (yes she's a pain in the ass). (FWIW I've used it every night for 10 years but whatever). It IS a bit to big for the room and I was never a fan of the ugly wooden blades. I see now that there are a ton of so-called bladeless fans that have nice features like a remote, better integrated LED lights (which I could actually use) etc. However, almost every model I see of so-called "bladeless" fans are actually just more flexible plastic blades in an enclosure. The only so-called "true" bladeless fan I've seen was around $700 and I'm not doing that to cater to a neighbor (FWIW neither of us are moving anytime soon, and I DO have some sympathy for her for reasons I won't get into). Anyone ever have any experience with one of these? Model I'm thinking of; lots of similar models exist. https://www.amazon.com/Bladeless-3-Dimmable-Reversible-Fandelier-Bedroom/dp/B0DHC8W1KY/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 Thanks so much for any advice. Yes, I know that I'd be well within my rights to tell my neighbor to F.O., but if I can keep the peace for under $200 (and then have her never bother me about anything else again) I'm game. submitted by /u/threemoons_nyc to r/DIY [link] [comments]

Looking for a 'fandelier' for my solarium.
Hey guys, me and my girldfriend finally ordered our solarium fully windowed with a closed classic house roof, 11 wide by 16 and we were shopping for a fan to help the heat in there in the summer as well as providing good central lighting. I have a couple of ceiling fan in my house mostly 56 inch with led and light bulb and the lighting kind of sucks on them but the wind is great. So while shopping online I started noticing those fandelier see this link as an exemple of what interest us so far. We're Canadians btw but willing to ship in the us if we need to. https://www.homedepot.ca/produit/home-decorators-collection-ventilateur-de-plafond-dialstone-interieur-exterieur-noir-mat-de-23-pouces-avec-lumiere-led-cct-integree-et-telecommande/1001773323?rrec=true So my question is, is there anything good about those if you have them somewhere? Are 20 inch something enough to push a good amount of air in the summer and are the light of those bright enough ? Or should I just buy another 56 inch and put smart bulb in there so I can get near what wed like for reading, board gaming etc... Thanks everyone! submitted by /u/Jeeesh13 to r/homeowners [link] [comments]

Suggestions to accommodate pendant lights and ceiling fan together
We are designing our new house. In the discussions with the designer , we had agreed on cane pendant lights above dining table. I just realised we cannot have a ceiling fan (which I compulsorily need in this area) in the dining space if we put pendant lights there. I want both, but can’t find a way. I explored the so called ‘Fandelier’ range- which has a ceiling fan and light attached , but didn’t see any design with hanging lights. Will appreciate suggestions in this regard please . submitted by /u/PonksForPuns to r/InteriorDesign [link] [comments]

Ceiling fan with no blue wire, what to do with red?
I have two switches, one for fan and one for light. My ceiling box has black, red, white, and ground. My fandelier (yes that is a thing), only has black, white, ground (no blue). Assuming black to black, white to white, ground to ground. What do you do with the extra red ceiling wire? 1) can I wire nut it to the black to black? What happens if I do this? (Making it black to black to red) 2) do I wire nut it off in the ceiling by itself? The home builder assumed a light and fan to be installed, thus has separate switches. In my case, there isn't a blue wire on the fandelier, only black white and green. Thank you submitted by /u/AmeriPatriot to r/electricians [link] [comments]
