Is Fluorocarbon Fishing Line trending?

Yes. Fluorocarbon Fishing Line growing with a month-over-month change of 2.04% over the past 5 years, with approximately 2,400 monthly searches.

This is a seasonal trend that peaks every June. The seasonal demand is forecasted to decline over the next year.

Why is Fluorocarbon Fishing Line trending?

1
Invisibility in water
Fluorocarbon fishing line has a refractive index that is very close to that of water, making it nearly invisible underwater. This makes it less likely to spook fish and increases the chances of getting a bite.
2
High sensitivity
Fluorocarbon fishing line has a higher sensitivity compared to other types of fishing lines. It allows anglers to feel even the slightest nibble or bite, resulting in better hook sets and increased catch rates.
3
Abrasion resistance
Fluorocarbon fishing line is highly resistant to abrasion, meaning it can withstand rubbing against rocks, logs, and other underwater structures without breaking or weakening. This makes it ideal for fishing in areas with rough terrain.
4
Low stretch
Fluorocarbon fishing line has minimal stretch, providing anglers with better control and sensitivity. This allows for quicker and more accurate hook sets, especially when fishing for species with delicate mouths.
5
UV resistance
Fluorocarbon fishing line is resistant to UV rays, which can cause other types of fishing lines to weaken and deteriorate over time. This makes fluorocarbon a durable choice that maintains its strength and performance even with prolonged exposure to sunlight.

LEADER line Question
Hi, sorry if this has been asked before. So i,ve read the in game book on leaders. So if i fish for a shy fish like Tench, i should use a 75cm leader? IF i fish for bream 50cm ? The last question i have is. Use Fluorocarbon line for these fish, or the high-polymer ?As its thinner and i'm lead to believe , thinner line increases bite rate? Happy fishing.

How do I read these specs and choose the right fishing line?
Hello everyone, I am very new to fishing, i bought this rod with a okuma avenger c2000. I bought it for Trout fishing. The very first fish I caught was a Northern Pike. My problem is that the fishing line snapped on me a lot of times while just casting between 7-21g lures.. the fishing line is Fluorocarbon something something... rated for about 6 or 7kg I believe. Don't have the original packaging anymore. Long story short. I lost alot of lures because of the fishing line snapping I suppose. I knotted the lures good enough I know that for sure. Can someone reccomend me a good fishingline that is more rigid so that I am less likely to lose lures? I don't know if I can just slap on a line for let's say 20kg and call it a day? What brands are considered to be the most durable/strongest fishing line?
I got my grandpa’s old tackle box after he passed and it’s full of some mystery mono that’s probably older than I am. Slowly working my way through replacing everything. My buddy only fishes fluorocarbon because it’s invisible and says that’s the best way to go. Then another buddy is saying that you have to be fishing that braided line to really have some sensitivity. They both say buying bulk is key and my buddy got 1000 yards of braid from Alibaba for $15 and says it’s lasted him two seasons with no breaks. I’m confused. A few questions: For general freshwater (bass, pike) do you spool straight fluoro or braid with a fluoro leader? What’s the actual difference between say an “8-carrier” and a “4-carrier” braid? Is it something you can notice? How much do you really spool? I heard mono should be a yearly spool, but braid can last years Has anyone actually tried those “copolymer” lines - are they a good compromise or just hype? Braided line with fluorocarbon for pike
Hey guys looking to get out fishing this weekend and trying to hook into some pike. Right now I have a medium heavy rod spooled up with 40lb braid (suffix 832). I am looking to tie on a leader. Big fan of fluorocarbon line for perch, yet it seems like a lot of people in Europe still won’t try it. Dare take inspiration from the bass fishing guys!
One of the best tools for perch fishing is fluorocarbon line, for a big variety of different techniques. The most benefits come from slack line presentations, such as jerkbaits, free rig, backslide rig or soft jerkbait presentations. The sinking line will pick up subtle bites even on slack, which then transfers through to your rod. Braid or mono won’t do that. I feel like there’s a lack of people really trying this line in most of Europe. I’ve fished fluoro since 2019 and have really learned its benefits. Nowadays, I think I have 7 different perch combos with fluoro, 12 with braided line and 2 with monofilament line, so I distribute it like that. Different lines for different baits. There are big benefits for certain techniques. Give it a try on one of your combos if you haven’t yet. Think more bass fishing! I fished the same spots with braided line and fluorocarbon for a full month to see if it actually matters. Here's what I found
Been seeing the braid vs. fluoro debate forever so I decided to actually test it properly. Same rod, same lure, same spots, alternating line type every trip for 4 weeks Conditions: clear to slightly stained water, bass fishing, mix of open water and light cover Results that surprised me: in clear water I got noticeably fewer strikes on braid 0 not zero, but fewer. In stained water or with moving lures there was essentially no difference in catch rate. The sensitivity difference is real. With braid I felt everything. Whether that translates to more fish depends entirely on your technique and what you're fishing for My takeaway: fluoro as main line in clear water finesse situations, braid with fluoro leader for everything else. "Just use one line for everything" is fine advice for casual fishing but if you're fishing challenging conditions it genuinely matters. What's your go-to line setup and why? submitted by /u/oweyoo to r/Fishing_Gear [link] [comments]

Leader and trace size vs main line for fishing "light"
My usual practive is to use a trace line or wire, appropriate for the type of fish I hope to catch. For example, nice thick abrasive resistant trace for flatty, same or even wire for taylor and mackeral/tuna etc. For most estuary fish, just fluorocarbon about 15 or 20lb is my usual. However, people always talk about fishing light, and that's not just the sinker. So, if, say, the braid is light - say 8lb, should I really be going down to about the same for the trace? Then there's the leader. I like to tie a couple of meters of leader onto the braid, especially for a running sinker rig. Should that also be the same as the braid, in the interest of "fishing light"? submitted by /u/4warn to r/FishingAustralia [link] [comments]

Is a tapered monofilament leader necessary for a loop-to-loop connection, or can I make do with "regular" (made for spin fishing) monofilament/fluorocarbon?
So I just got my first fly rod/reel. I'm hoping to test it out a little over the weekend- probably just practice casting it, although if I'm able to get a handle on it I might do some exploratory fishing for panfish. I do have an issue, though- while I have flyline loaded on the reel, I don't actually have a leader for it. Do I need a specialized tapered leader, or can I use monofilament/fluorocarbon (Berkley Trilene 4lb mono is my first choice) and do a loop-to-loop connection with that? And another thing... when people talk about local fly shops, how "local" are they? The nearest tackle shop on Google Maps is 40 minutes away. The nearest specialized fly fishing shop is over an hour. There are tapered leaders at a nearby DSG but the largest are in 5wt, my line is a 6wt. Daily commute is is more than 40 minutes each way so I'm used to it, but I'm already gonna be busy shopping so it would be reeeaally convenient if I didn't have to drive that far. submitted by /u/Bradley271 to r/flyfishing [link] [comments]

The worst fluorocarbon line: Sunline Shooter
I fish with baitcasters, and sometimes there’s a bit of loose line near the end of a cast. Usually, I just pull out that slack and reel it back in—problem solved. But with Sunline Shooter, it almost drove me crazy. Every time I pull out the loose line, new loops appear again, over and over. Sometimes I have to pull out almost the entire spool just to fix it. Fluorocarbon leader lines - has it affected your hit rate noticeably?
I use both mono and fluoro and can't really tell if the fluoro affects my bite rate. The only tiny preference I have is mono for topwater lures, but if i have a flurocarbon leader tied on i ain't changing shit. Please let me know if it's worth paying the extra for fluorocarbon - and some brand names and models would be greatly appreciated. I mainly fish freshwater canals and reservoirs for peacock bass here in Singapore, and occasionally some light saltwater pier fishing. Also- who uses fluoro that's meant to be main line for their leaders? I do. If anything it's kinda hard to tie an fg knot with as it's less stiff, but i find it casts much better. And costs much less too. Thanks in advance, everyone. submitted by /u/radiotoothbrush to r/Fishing_Gear [link] [comments]
