Folgers decaf in Delonghi Magnifica Plus?
I know, this is probably sacrilege to people here, but has anyone had any experience using run of the mill Folgers ground decaf through the pre-ground chute on the Magnifica Plus? I have a good portion of them left and I'd hate to throw them out, only to have to buy something different for the occasional decaf drink. I tried making an americano with them and it was so insanely weak (to be expected) when I used a single scoop as the manual suggested. I've seen mixed info when I did a Google search, with some people saying 1 is the max, never go over it, and others saying more than one scoop is fine. Has anyone successfully been able to get a passable drink using Folgers decaf? I'm not even looking for perfection, just something drinkable. How much coffee can really be used? The puck that comes out from the normal bean grinding process has more grounds than the scoop size, so my guess is at least 2 scoops should be OK. What is the cleaning process if too much is used if I try to experiment? I appreciate any input. submitted by /u/JJHall_ID to r/superautomatic [link] [comments]

Morning beverage alternative?
I drink coffee in the mornings, used to be 6:1 ratio of decaf to caffeinated, decent coffee. We switched to Folgers for pricing when coffee prices started rising, then they kept going up, so I switched to half decaf (decaf costs 50% more than the regular) and half regular. The last time my husband bought coffee, one can of decaf and one of regular, it was $37. That's $444/year! I decided to try to switch to tea - box of 100 Lipton tea bags was less than 5 bucks - and the first morning it was OK if a bit weak, though I got a little nauseated. Chalked that up to not having eaten yet, and tea not killing my appetite the way coffee does. The next morning, I doubled up on the tea bags, and omg, for 15 minutes I was SURE I was going to throw up. I did some research and apparently some people react that way to tea on an empty stomach, which makes it a no-go for mornings for me. What's left? I remember that my older sister went through a period of time where she just had hot water, though don't remember why. I thought about herbal teas, though the only kinds I'm familiar with are Chamomile and Sleepy Time, not really appropriate for mornings. lol. Plus...there's no caffeine. My husband is good with whatever I choose. :) Side note: I don't use milk/cream and don't add sugar. Really not much of a sugar person. Probably been 10 years since I had a soda, though I do have lemonade or bottled ice tea once or twice a year, lol. submitted by /u/ThePuppyIsWinning to r/budgetfood [link] [comments]

Recommended brands of real decaf coffee?
Hi All, I quit coffee last year but can't help it anymore the days are getting colder and I am really craving a coffee. Decaf always makes me jittery and anxious. I have tried Folgers, New England, Nescafé, Starbucks, partners among others, even from Mexico. I was wondering if anyone has found a brand they recommend that has passed the anxiety-shakiness-insomnia test. Thanks all in advanced. submitted by /u/geekvocaloid to r/decaf [link] [comments]

Decaf coffee and PD?
Looks like a chemical used to decaffeinate some coffee is a potential neurotoxin. I used to drink two or three cups of decaf Folgers. Do you think there will ever be Members Mark decaf coffee?
I like the Members Mark regular coffee, unfortunately the only decaf they carry is Folgers, and it's expensive. I usually just wind up buying Walmarts great value decaf. Coffee lovers… tried decaf??
I LOVE iced coffee but it’s a huge trigger. I can ONLY drink coffee when I KNOW I will be home and very close to the bathroom. I also know it’s going to make me have explosive spasms 2-3 times with each cup. But I love it so much, it’s worth it for me. Someone else told me to drive decaf, which sounds like a bummer BUT if I could keep coffee in my life, then it would be worth it. Anyone tried decaf? submitted by /u/cynwil710 to r/ibs [link] [comments]

How would decaf folgers scan okay for regular folgers? It was scanned as regular but the delivered package is decaf :/
It is for the Columbian K-cups at Food Lion -- everything else went fine so do they sometimes just scan in wrong? (This was a few days ago, I just unloaded the coffee/boxed bag when I ran out. Tip was left alone, no threat to stars, just curious how this happens) submitted by /u/seaboard2 to r/InstacartShoppers [link] [comments]

Odd Coffee pricing - Kirkland vs Folger
Looking to get coffee for the office. I see the big canister of Kirkland coffee. This must be the best price, per unit cost! Nope. Similar sized Folgers was cheaper by a decent amount. Keep looking, see the bagged Kirkland. This is bagged, and generic, must be cheaper! Nope. The most expensive! Just as casual observation that made me scratch my head. submitted by /u/Beercyclerun to r/Costco [link] [comments]

[Question] Good decaf coffee?
We recently found out my wife is pregnant and I want to find her some good decaf coffee. We bought a medium roast bag from a local chain roaster that uses the Swiss water method but it justs tastes to dark/burned. Does anyone have any recommendations? She cares much less about tasting notes than I do but doesn't want Folgers, that being said she will still drink flavored coffee so anything is on the table. submitted by /u/TheConeyJabroni to r/Coffee [link] [comments]
