@tessie86 I have been using one of those wooden foot massagers ( photo below) I feel like it helps, but can’t be certain. My feet have improved quite a bit. I couldn’t have used the massager a few weeks ago when it was very painful though, but now my heels are more numb ( 10000155151920×1440 958 KB rather than burning and super sensitive) I feel like it brings some feeling back into them.

One year for Christmas my grandma asked for a foot massager machine. After we were all done opening all the gifts each of my sisters had to try out the foot massager machine. My first sister was laughing so hard she turned red and had to burry her face in her hands. My second sister was laughing loudly and squirming all over the place but was stuck there cuz her feet were trapped in the machine.

Okay but real question—how do people sit still while those foot massagers are doing their thing? Been seeing a lot of people recommend them for relaxing after a long day, but at the same time, others say it just feels weirdly ticklish or even uncomfortable. Last night in the ICU I had an AO4 independent patient on bed rest for the night post procedure. She was an older Indian lady. (This is relevant). She called multiple time over an hour asking for her foot massage with lotion, so she could fall asleep. In the end I did a half assed massage to get her to stop. I was talking with my girlfriend after about what happened. She said that made sense why the patient was asking. In Indian culture there is a reverence for feet and at home she probably does receive nightly foot massages. Wife is 5 months pregnant. She was up at her feet today for an event duty and when she came home she asked for a foot massage. I said sure, and she began relaxing on the couch and stretched her legs. As soon as she removed her shoes I was hit with a very foul smell from her socks and it got worse when she removed them as well. I don’t think she realised that she smelled bad until I told her. I said, “hey babe, do you mind washing your feet first, let me get things ready”. She asked why I needed her to do that and I honestly and truthfully told her that they stink and it’s possible she can’t tell. She looked at me with horror and started tearing up and very irritably told me that making her go and do something else for someone was the last thing she wanted to hear. I asked her what was wrong and she simply left the living room and locked the bedroom door to cry. I was confused at first, and then panicked thinking I made her feel ugly and unattractive. But then I reminded myself that she’s probably had a hard day and on top of that she was hormonal so this was an irrational reaction from her and didn’t take it personally. I figured she probably needed a minute to cool off and reflect on what just happened and she’ll eventually come around. I was also a bit hurt because all I asked her was to wash her feet. So I was also upset at her reaction. Yes, I eventually stopped feeling hurt but in the moment I reminded myself that regardless of her feelings, I deserve kindness too. So I waited for 10 minutes and she didn’t come out. And I dozed right off on the couch. Something to note, when I am lashed out at, by anyone, I simply refuse to care and use CBT techniques to practice indifference. As a child, when my parents or some bullies troubled me, I would gray rock, demonstrate indifference and that was my way of claiming my power back. It makes me feel strong and powerful when I use this technique to stop taking things personally. When my wife acted irritably to my reasonable request, it activated my trigger, which told me I was being bullied and acted accordingly. I woke up next morning to a very angry and pissed off wife. She said she expected me to knock on the door and comfort her, and when I didn’t come it felt like I had abandoned her. I said I didn’t abandon her and explained how I didn’t take her personally and assumed she would calm down on her own and recognise she was being irrational. She is also extremely sensitive to the fact I used CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) technique to create a barrier against her and basically “made her out to be a bully.” Now let me make it clear, I never told her she was a bully. I simply shared it with her why I didn’t give her the reaction she expected from me when she locked the bedroom door. My aim of sharing what I do (CBT) was to reach a mutual understanding of why I acted the way I did, and all it had to do was with me, and about my need for feeling in control of the situation and not let any external stimulation affect my mental peace. My lovely heated foot massager arrived this morning. I gave it a try for 30 minutes on my feet and calves, and felt great afterward, significantly less pain. Did another 30 minutes a couple hours later, and again, felt fantastic. Walked down the stairs to do laundry with practically zero pain in my heels. Then, while I was chatting on the phone for a bit, I had it going on my feet again for another 20-ish. Afterward, got up and walked around, felt great. Sat down for the rest of the call, another 40 or so minutes. When I got up, it felt like there were two hard, extremely painful balls pressing into the sore spots on the bottoms of my feet. I could barely walk, had to hobble around the apartment for the last few hours. I've sat with a heat pack on those spots for a while, took a hot bath, and am now lying down. Did I over-massage my feet somehow??? I kind of assumed I'd feel it hurting while the massager was going if I was doing too much, but now I'm worried I've fucked myself. Edit: Thanks for all the advice, guys. I didn’t expect this much support, and I couldn’t really bring myself to post more about it. I mustered the courage to go and talk to them, and had my girlfriend open her phone. Long story short, this has been going on for a while, and I guess my mom either didn’t know or doesn’t care. My girlfriend apologised and said she thought it’d be too awkward to tell me, but she felt bad for my dad, while my dad said he was embarrassed about getting old and having foot pains. I told him she isn’t a masseuse, as well as some more colorful words. He tried to discuss “comfort levels” and boundaries, but I told him the fact that they did this in secret means they already know boundaries were broken. We got into a mild physical altercation, and now I’ve decided to move out. I’ve already contacted a friend. I don’t know if it progressed farther than that for sure, but the trust is gone. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to speak to any of them again. -------------------------------- My girlfriend and I have been dating for one year. Since we’ve both been struggling financially, and she has a tense relationship with her family, she’s been living with me at home with my parents for the past two months. Everything’s been going well, and she’s made a point to help around the house wherever she can. Usually, she gets up at 6 AM to do the cleaning in relative silence. This morning, she woke me up as she left the room, but I didn’t think much of it. My mouth felt dry, so I decided to head to the kitchen to get a glass of water. In the hall, I noticed the door to the guest room was open, which was weird because my girlfriend usually doesn’t clean that room. I opened it, and saw my father laying on a chair by the bed with his feet up, and my girlfriend was sitting in front of him with her hands wrapped around one of the feet. They were both fully clothed. They both looked at me, I looked back, and I just quietly head back to my room, locking the door behind me. I heard my girlfriend knocking on the door and telling me it was just a foot massage, and it’s not what I think, but I just ignored her. I heard my dad knocking too, calling me immature, and then my mother begging me to come out for food at least. I tried to check her phone for any suspicious text messages, but it’s locked.
