My wife wants a Ford Bronco. Advice??
I am a Toyota/Honda guy so I joked with my wife that if she gets a Bronco, she has to handle all the repairs! I joke but I'm semi-serious. Since the Broncos (2021 or 2022) we are looking at are about $23k vs 30k+ for Highlanders/Pilots, would it be smart to buy warranties to cover repairs? Do warranties work like that where if there is an issue, I wouldn't have to pay much extra? I don't know the reliability on the Bronco but I don't have a good feeling. Any advice would be appreciated. submitted by /u/tungdiep to r/whatcarshouldIbuy [link] [comments]

Ford’s US April sales are even worse with Bronco Sport down 11.5% and Maverick sales down 29.7% even with Escape discontinued.
Looks like Escape buyers/owners are not flocking to Ford’s other affordable options, the Bronco Sport and Maverick as Ford hoped as they have moved on to other brands’ competitors. Told ya exiting the most popular segment with no direct replacement at all was always a bad idea. I was never told this about the Ford Bronco!!!
The other day my 3 month old son and I are out on one of our Dad and Son adventures…he loves taking car rides in dad’s cool Bronco. As we are going down the street he suddenly gets to grunting and getting red and I knew what that meant…my boy just dropped his first car seat poop. I have to pull over in a parking lot and I’m starting to panic a little as a first time dad on how am I going to manage to change this diaper. Then it hits me…let’s take this to the back. With its large flat rear compartment (4 door owner) and the bumper sitting right at hip height…it made it the easiest diaper change I’ve done. No awkward bending over at the changing table. This vehicle impresses me everyday with all of it uses…new dad approved!! submitted by /u/OTWTFYB23 to r/FordBronco [link] [comments]

Is the bronco sport THAT BAD?
TLDR: I really like the Bronco sport but I’m scared that it won’t be reliable and might be unsafe. I’m in the car market rn and I am in a conundrum. I’m not a car person at all. I’ve always seen them as a tool to get me around. But I have fallen in love with the look of the broncos and the bronco sports. The broncos don’t have the kind of gas mileage I’d like for an everyday car though. So I’ve been looking at the Bronco sport. There was even one (New 2024 heritage) I was going to snatch up at the ford dealership but they can’t sell it thanks to a recall with no fix. Since then I’ve done research and talked to car people. I’ve heard they aren’t the most reliable and I would be a lot safer in like a Honda or Toyota or Subaru etc . But I tell you: none of them hold a candle to the looks of the Bronco Sport for me. I just feel like I would be settling and be back in a car I just see as a tool to get me around. I’m having a hard time even picking what I would get instead bc they all feel so meh to me. My price range is right at 30k. Any suggestions? submitted by /u/UpstairsNo4580 to r/whatcarshouldIbuy [link] [comments]

TIL in 2010 a teenager, who began by bartering an old cell phone on Craigslist with the goal of scoring a dirt bike, ended up continuing to trade up in a series of 14 swaps over 2 years. It eventually ended with him trading a 1975 Ford Bronco (considered a collectible) for a 2000 Porsche Boxster S.

Turned 200,000 miles this week!
22 Bronco Wildtrak w/Hoss 3.0. Answers to a few questions: 1. How? It’s my work truck and cover a multi state part of Midwest. 2. Mechanical issues? Zero. 3. Tires? On 2nd set. OEM’s switched out to Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s at 65,000 and still going. 4. Gas mileage? 16.7 5. Any modifications? None. 6. Noise? Yes…you can solve a lot of tire noise but you can’t the wind. I use a Blue Parrot 450 for the phone. 7. Why? Paid too much originally and trade in value got crushed so it’s drive till it leaves me stranded. 8. Goal? Get Ford or Falken to pay my gas bill! submitted by /u/Common-Level-7845 to r/FordBronco [link] [comments]

Help me justify buying a bronco.
I have been driving a 2011 Ford Escape for 10 years, and the time has finally come to get something new. I have always wanted a classic bronco, and I am so in love with the new ones. I don't understand why Ford gets so much hate, I truly loved mine. The problem is I am bit torn. My friends and family are encouraging me to pick the 4runner based on its quality and reliability. I like the way the exterior looks, but the interior was very bland. It was also a bit of a bore to drive, but felt safe and solid. It has 45k miles and costs about the same. I could get a newer Bronco for the same price. As soon as I opened the door to the Bronco, I was smitten and haven't stopped thinking about them since. I honestly have no use for an off road vehicle, and it will mostly just take me to work and back. I prefer the look of the black diamond or the OBX, but am unsure why I should get one over the other. My main concern with the Broncos are the quality. I have read some complaints of the plastic interior being cheap and it being a bit leaky, and creaky. My current ride has been leaky and creaky due to its old age and I'm not really interested in repeating that any time soon. Are these issues really that common? I have been scouring this sub reddit, and am just looking for reassurance and encouragement to pull the trigger. submitted by /u/sunflowerpupper to r/FordBronco [link] [comments]

AITA for using money we "earmarked" for our 6 month old's college fund to buy back the exact 1972 Ford Bronco I owned as a teenager?
I am not OOP. OOP is u/my1972pony (suspended) Originally posted to r/AmItheAsshole I've made minor edits for readability. Mood Spoiler: Frustrating Original Post - July 26, 2019: AITA for using money we "earmarked" for our 6 month old's college fund to buy back the exact 1972 Ford Bronco I owned as a teenager? So how to begin with this.... I realize that on paper I am totally the asshole but when you dig deeper into my motivations, I'm hoping its more of a grey area than anything else and maybe even I did the right thing. When I was a teenager my dad bought me a classic 1972 Ford Bronco. It was my true passion and I don't recall a memory from high school that somehow doesn't involve that truck. Plus my dad and I would spend hours and hours working on it together and when we went through that father/son rough patch when I was teenager it was always that Bronco that brought us back together. I made a huge mistake and sold the truck when I turned 19 and my dad died of a heart attack two months later so while not logical, I've always felt a karmic connection between the two events. We had a baby in early February. She is our first and the light of my life. My wife is doing well but she's back at work and she's realized that she hates all the day cares we've tried and really wants to be a stay at home mom and she's still very hormonal from delivery, lack of sleep, and breastfeeding so she's having a rough time and is angry a lot. I guess I need to say this. Two weeks ago I was driving through our town's warehouse district and saw a Bronco that was pretty beat up but resembled mine. I stopped just for nostalgia's sake and the owner came out and let me take a look inside. My dad and I had glued a wheat penny under the dash as sort of security measure, so I just sort of checked and goddamned if it wasn't MY BRONCO! I asked him if he'd ever consider selling it, he said actually someone was on I-25 as we spoke from Colorado to buy it for $21000. I freaked out and asked him if I could buy it right then and there for $23000. He said if I could come up with the cash, yes. I had been procrastinating setting up a 529 so I had $12000 in savings that my wife's parents had given us. I maxed out my credit card to Venmo and my mom brought down a check for $4000 and I fucking drove away in my old car. It was like a dream come true. Like a literal dream come true. It needs a lot of work I can't afford right now but it's mine. Like in my driveway mine. Again, I can't even describe what a joy this is. My wife and her parents are furious with me. They feel I was deceptive, that a "real" man would have sacrificed anything and everything so my wife could go stay at home with his kids, and that's setting aside that they gave us the money for a college fund. My point is my daughter is only 6 months old, we have 18 years to set up a college fund of her. But this Bronco means everything to me and if I wouldn't have acted it would have been gone forever. Now it can be that same connection between me and my kids. To me it's the literal meaning of happiness. Like I said on paper--asshole...whole story--grey area. How do you guys see it? Editor's Note: The comments are pretty much unanimous that OOP is the asshole. Edit: I had no idea this would go so one way. I guess I messed up. I talked with my mom and she is basically going to buy the bronco from me in order to refill the college fund and pay off the credit card. The $4k will be a gift and she's going to give me whatever I need to restore it. She's always been awesome to me and she'd rather the money be spent now than wait for me and my sisters inheritance. Sorry to get everyone so mad at me, I was thinking with my emotions and acted badly. Edit 2: Are the "mommy bailed you out" comments really necessary? I found a solution and it's coming from me and my sisters inheritance so it's not like I'm not paying for it on my own eventually. Edit 3: My inbox is so buried I have no idea what those icons are that are where gold used to be. Does anyone know what those are? Edit 4: I'm getting a 403 error whenever I try to respond, not sure what that means but I'm still reading because honestly I'm afraid to go home even with the great news I know my wife is going to be upset for one reason or another. Edit 5: Does anyone know what 403 error means? I messaged the moderators but they must be busy u/ SnausageFest since you're a mod, do you know? I can't respond to any posts and get the "status 403" whenever I try. Thanks! Edit in the morning: I couldn't figure out why I was getting so many private's but I guess this must be locked now. I didn't tell my wife that my mom bailed me out and lied and said I found a buyer for the bronco. I'll figure out how to cross that bridge when I get there but my wife was so relieved that "you had come to your senses" I don't want to disappoint her. It's going to take all my lying skills to pull this one off over the next few years. THIS IS A REPOST SUB - I AM NOT OOP submitted by /u/eeprom_programmer to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]

When I was a teenager my dad bought me a classic 1972 Ford Bronco. It was my true passion and I don't recall a memory from high school that somehow doesn't involve that truck. Plus my dad and I would spend hours and hours working on it together and we went through that especially father/son rough patch when I was teenager it was always that Bronco that brought us back together. I made a huge mistake and sold the truck when I turned 19 and my dad died of a heart attack two months later so while not logical, I've always felt a karmic connection between the two events. We had a baby in early February. she is our first and the light of my life. My wife is doing well but she's back at work and she's realized that she hates all the day cares we've tried and really wants to be a stay at home mom and plus she's still very hormonal from delivery, lack of sleep and breastfeeding so she's having a rough time and is angry a lot. I guess I need to say this. Two weeks ago I was driving through our town's warehouse district and saw a Bronco that was pretty beat up but resembled mine. I stopped just for nostalgias sake and the owner came out and let me take a look inside. My dad and I had glued a wheat penny under the dash as sort of security measure so I just sort of checked and goddamned if it wasn't MY BRONCO! I asked him if he'd ever consider selling it, he said actually someone was on I-25 as we spoke from Colorado to buy it for $21000. I freaked out and asked him if I could buy it right then and there for $23000. He said if I could come up with the cash, yes. I had been procrastinating setting up a 529 so I had $12000 in savings that my wife's parents had given us, I maxed out my credit card to Venmo and my mom bought down a check for $4000 and I fucking drove away in my old car. It was like a dream come true. Like a literal dream come true. It needs a lot of work I can't afford right now but it's mine. Like in my driveway mine. Again. I can't even describe what a joy this is. My wife and her parents are furious with me. They feel I was deceptive, that a "real" man would have sacrificed anything and everything so my wife could go stay at home with his kids and that's setting aside that they gave us the money for a college fund. Edit: had no idea this would go so one way. I guess I messed up. I talked with my mom and she is basically going to buy the bronco from me in order to refill the college fund and pay off the credit card. The $4k will be a gift and she’s going to give me whatever I need to restore it. She’s always been awesome to me and she’s rather the money be spent now than wait for me and my sisters inheritance. Sorry to get everyone so mad at me, I was thinking with my emotions and acted badly edit2: are the “mommy bailed you out” comments really necessary ? I found a solution and it’s coming from me and my sisters inheritance so it’s not like I’m not paying for it on my own eventually. Edit 3: my inbox is so buried I have no idea what those icons are that are where gold used to be. Does anyone know what those are ? Edit4: I’m getting a 403 error whenever I try to respond, not sure what that means but I’m still reading because honestly I’m afraid to go home even with the great news I know my wife is going to be upset for one reason or another Edit5: does anyone know what 403 error means? I messaged the moderators but they must be busy /u/SnausageFest since you’re a mod, do you know? I can’t respond to any posts and get the “status 403” whenever I try. Thanks! Edit in the morning: I couldn’t figure out why I was getting so many private’s but I guess this must be locked now. I didn’t tell my wife that my mom bailed me out and lied and Said I found a buyer for the bronco. I’ll figure out how to cross that bridge when I get there but my wife was so relieved that I “had come to your senses” I don’t want to disappoint her. It’s going to take all my lying skills to pull this one off over the next few years. submitted by /u/my1972pony to r/AmItheAsshole [link] [comments]
