My wife wants a Ford Bronco. Advice??
I am a Toyota/Honda guy so I joked with my wife that if she gets a Bronco, she has to handle all the repairs! I joke but I'm semi-serious. Since the Broncos (2021 or 2022) we are looking at are about $23k vs 30k+ for Highlanders/Pilots, would it be smart to buy warranties to cover repairs? Do warranties work like that where if there is an issue, I wouldn't have to pay much extra? I don't know the reliability on the Bronco but I don't have a good feeling. Any advice would be appreciated. submitted by /u/tungdiep to r/whatcarshouldIbuy [link] [comments]

How has your Bronco been for reliability, both the engine and the build quality?
Keep it really REALLY real with me. Big money on the line, haha. What’s holding me back from an unbridled Bronco (no pun intended😝) purchase, besides needing to actually test drive one and see if the capability-over-comfort style is really for me, are reliability concerns. This would be my daily driver. And I drive A LOT. Currently, I am making 1-2 round trips of about 500 miles per week. I’m dual-caretaking on opposite sides of the state, and one of them, my dad, is 94, so as much as I hope he lives to 120, that side of it would very likely end during my ownership of the next car I buy, and then my travel would drop drastically, maybe 10K miles per year or less. But it’s 25-30K these days. But for now, this is the reality, a new car can’t be pushed off any longer, and I really love (for now) the IDEA of the Bronco. And my old man would be covering a big chunk of the cost. All future car purchases will be solely from my own pocket, so I’m measuring if this is the time to roll the dice, or to be practical, get a 4Runner, and have better resale value later on. I’ll be able to afford it either way, but I still of course consider it. So for those who daily drive one: how is it holding up for you? Being in the cross-state caretaking situation, not getting here or there is simply not an option. I got here on a misfiring engine this past trip, lmao (somehow has righted itself too). So I can’t be having the Check Engine light coming on or getting weird rattles or troublesome fluid leaks in those first 50K miles, which will be accumulated in the two first years, if my dad makes it as long as I hope. I want the fun and the aesthetics enough to deal with some inefficiencies or drawbacks, but what I can’t have is a car that’s in the shop for anything beyond routine maintenance with any regularity. I know I’m asking a Bronco Fan Club, haha, but what’s the real deal on the quality and reliability, in your experience? I’d probably get 2024 or maybe even a new one. I’m aware of the 2.7L engine troubles and would opt for a 2.3L. Thanks!!! submitted by /u/ActiveWar617 to r/FordBronco [link] [comments]

I have one of each and I love them. Gladiator is the best vehicle I have owned. I do use it and the solid axle trade off is worth it to me. FYI you can also flat tow a Bronco. Bronco is also nice, but for hard wheeling on rocks, the Jeeps win. Bronco is nicer on the highway for sure.

Thinking about a Bronco Sport... talk me into or out of one.
Hi again. I asked earlier this week about a dog car that was good in snow without being huge. Someone here suggested a Bronco Sport- which I actually think I can make work with the necessary dog crates and isn't totally huge. I test drove a Big Bend edition today and liked it, but am a bit nervous about reliability. The Badlands/larger engine is out of budget. Since you folks were so helpful before I thought I'd ask here again. submitted by /u/AstuteOcelot to r/whatcarshouldIbuy [link] [comments]

I was never told this about the Ford Bronco!!!
The other day my 3 month old son and I are out on one of our Dad and Son adventures…he loves taking car rides in dad’s cool Bronco. As we are going down the street he suddenly gets to grunting and getting red and I knew what that meant…my boy just dropped his first car seat poop. I have to pull over in a parking lot and I’m starting to panic a little as a first time dad on how am I going to manage to change this diaper. Then it hits me…let’s take this to the back. With its large flat rear compartment (4 door owner) and the bumper sitting right at hip height…it made it the easiest diaper change I’ve done. No awkward bending over at the changing table. This vehicle impresses me everyday with all of it uses…new dad approved!! submitted by /u/OTWTFYB23 to r/FordBronco [link] [comments]

Is the bronco sport THAT BAD?
TLDR: I really like the Bronco sport but I’m scared that it won’t be reliable and might be unsafe. I’m in the car market rn and I am in a conundrum. I’m not a car person at all. I’ve always seen them as a tool to get me around. But I have fallen in love with the look of the broncos and the bronco sports. The broncos don’t have the kind of gas mileage I’d like for an everyday car though. So I’ve been looking at the Bronco sport. There was even one (New 2024 heritage) I was going to snatch up at the ford dealership but they can’t sell it thanks to a recall with no fix. Since then I’ve done research and talked to car people. I’ve heard they aren’t the most reliable and I would be a lot safer in like a Honda or Toyota or Subaru etc . But I tell you: none of them hold a candle to the looks of the Bronco Sport for me. I just feel like I would be settling and be back in a car I just see as a tool to get me around. I’m having a hard time even picking what I would get instead bc they all feel so meh to me. My price range is right at 30k. Any suggestions? submitted by /u/UpstairsNo4580 to r/whatcarshouldIbuy [link] [comments]

Moving on from Bronco
I currently drive/own a ‘23 Bronco. I think it looks really cool, the ride is comfortable (enough), the common complaints about it haven’t affected me so far. I do have the Outer Banks trim (more creature comforts) and added all the driver assistance I could to make it easier to drive in the city, plus I do 10 hour road trips like twice a year. HOWEVER, I have realized after 2 years that I don’t really use the Bronco-specific features all that much. I’ve only gone off-roading like once or twice, only taken the roof off once, so I’m wondering if the trade offs are worth it. Here are what I have been looking at: Toyota 4Runner and Land Cruiser: I like boxier trucks/look, only thing is that I feel these are “boring” vehicles. Lexus GX 550: this one I’d have to wait a bit for used prices to come down, but it does seem to be my top choice. Ford F-150: this is a bit of a wild card, but I like the look and the technology in Ford vehicles is honestly impressive to me (BlueCruise and such). wait for next-gen Bronco: this is another GX situation. Maybe Ford will make a better/more comfortable Bronco, maybe with a hybrid? My budget is around $60k USD. submitted by /u/Gobbledygooker316 to r/whatcarshouldIbuy [link] [comments]

Any Regrets on Getting a Bronco
Hello everyone, as the title says, do you regret getting your Bronco? I test drove a 2025 Outer Banks package yesterday and liked it. I also was wondering the differences between the Outer Banks and Big Ben package. The lease on my X3 is ending so I realize this is a very different car. I’d be getting this car for another 3 year lease so want to make sure people generally love it and it’s reliable. Thanks and hopefully this is the appropriate place to pose this question! submitted by /u/gabbs1123 to r/FordBronco [link] [comments]

Is the Bronco more reliable than a Wrangler, for next car?
Hi all! Been lurking this sub for a while and learning the ropes. Seems like anything Jeep makes is laughed at for numerous issues on reliability. As a 2019 Wrangler owner, I'll say I acknowledge the status quo. I also acknowledge that Wranglers do have a high resale value. Hopefully this sub acknowledges that too. All that in mind, does a transition to a Ford Bronco leave me in a better place as far as reliability? What about resale value? Is it any better? Worse? What data is available to make the comparison? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/PizzaThrives to r/whatcarshouldIbuy [link] [comments]
