I know, I know. I’m gonna make some people feel all tingly in a bad way. Just hear me out. People should know what they’re walking into and how full of shit the listing agent may or may not be. I’m also over going to a showing and the listing agent knows “nothing” about the home. Seriously, SERIOUSLY HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW. Roof? Idk. Septic? Idk. Flooding? Idk. Where’s the property end? Idk. HVAC? Idk (it’s 2015 we found it ourselves). Water heater? Idk. What conveys with the property? Idk. Is that someone’s easement? Idk. WHY IS THERE SEVERAL TONS OF BEESWAX IN A MACHINE IN THE BARN?! “Idk”. 😐😐😐😐😐😐😐 We looked at a home today. You know what the listing description read? “Fully renovated and remodeled”. I would like to know what drugs they’re on. Seriously. Someone call my doctor because that level of delusion is worth a prescription. The wood rot on the front and back porch is so bad you can see entire chunks of wood missing. The toilet is old, the entire bathroom is outdated and worn heavily. The visible part of the foundation has some kind of massive chunks taken out of it (I’m not an engineer idk how the hell that happens) and coincidentally that part of the home is settling/sinking/lower than the rest whatever you want to call it. The washer is in the kitchen, the dryer is in the hallway. The air handler with filter has also been converted into a tiny pantry so idk how tf to deal with that I feel like it’s not handling much air when it’s behind a closed door and some beans. Oh the roof, how’s the roof? The paint is peeling off so hard it almost looks intentional like they wanted a vintage look. How old is it? I don’t know, because the listing agent didn’t know. “What’s this giant piece of industrial equipment taking up 1/4 of the barn?” Dude doesn’t know. I figured it out. It’s a BEESWAX BOILER that’s approx 15’ tall. It is full of beeswax, that was cool. Not useful and not operational but if you like beeswax I’ll give you the address. Buy yourself a sheep farm with a beeswax machine. They don’t have bees…but there’s literally a ton of beeswax just solid in a machine. Can’t make this up. Anyway. The listing says “VA eligible” the VA wouldn’t approve that house even if a Disney Fairy waved a wand and Christina Aguilera rubbed a Genie lamp at the same time while my Native uncle did a dance in the front yard next to an entire field of lucky four leaf clovers being farmed by the Lucky Charms leprechaun. Part of the kitchen was redone and the living room was redone. I’ll give them that. Oh, and the owners are trying to move to Alaska within 30 days meanwhile there’s two semi trucks under overgrown brush with trailers attached. 60 sheep, 8 dogs. And tons of pieces of random, huge metal farm equipment covering probably 2 acres next to the barn. I wanna know how that’s gonna get cleaned up. Because you know damn well it won’t. The listing agent confidently said we can put into the contract that it has to be removed before closing. LOLOLOL OK SURE. I started looking for “buy-it-for-life” brushes to invest in and it took a while to collect all of them. I own a couple of local and some high end brushes, and investing in high quality and good makeup brushes are so worth-it in terms of the overall makeup application and finish IMO. It is also important that you regularly clean your tools. I do mine after 2 days of use using a mild bar soap. Note that there is interpersonal variation and not all luxury / high end are worth the purchase, but I’m here to share with you my personal experience. No. 1 Powder Brush - This powder brush is a bit fluffy and flat which is great for applying pressed finishing powders such as HG ambient lighting powder / Charlotte Tilbury pressed powder. 1-2 swipes gives me an airbushed finish. For me, it’s a nice-to-have in your collection and will recommend if you have the budget for it. Veil Translucent Setting Powder Brush - This dual-ended powder brush is one of my favorites from HG! It’s versatile for applying powder bronzers and setting my face with a loose setting powder, and even great on powder blushes. I personally apply my HG bronzer using the smaller end while the larger end is used for setting my makeup using a loose powder (such as Laura Mercier and Huda Beauty). Compared to No. 1 powder brush, both ends of this brush is more tapered than flat. If you are to choose between purchasing a No. 1 powder brush vs. veil translucent setting powder, I highly recommend to get this instead. No. 15 Blush Brush - For some reason, I super love this blush brush for creams / liquids! The bristles are a bit stippled rather than dense. It picks up little cream blush product when applied directly on the pan but blends like a dream. It also blends beautifully and precisely with liquid blush products. I suggest getting this if you are on a hunt for a stippled blush brush. Vanish Seamless Finish Concealer Brush - I am sold to purchase this when YT MUAs and influencers rave about this brush. However, I find them a little less dense for my liking so I use them mainly for under eyes. For covering my hormonal acne blemishes and bumps, I would still prefer using my Haus Labs concealer (my favorite concealer of all time BTW) which is very versatile and sold cheaper. I think this brush will work best for people with flawless skin and with very little to none acne blemishes to cover up. Ambient Lighting Edit Brush - If you have the ambient lighting palette, please get this! This is my favorite HG brush of all time! I apply my HG ambient palette to do the finishing touches of my makeup using the larger end while I use powder highlighter and powder blush using the smaller end. You can also use them for a more precise application of powder bronzers, blushes and highlighters. It’s very versatile! I love this so much that I have have another as a backup. Ambient Soft Glow Foundation Brush - I use this as my main foundation brush because it’s more handy, giving you a more controlled application compared to the seamless finish foundation brush. I buff the foundation product into my skin. I can also use this for liquid / cream contours / bronzers because it’s a bit angled though I prefer a denser one for doing contour. Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Brush - I know this is a foundation brush but I use this mainly for applying my liquid / cream contours and bronzers. This is stubbier than the soft glow foundation brush and I personally like this even better than the latter because it is more dense and compact, giving you a beautiful contour application and airbrush finish. I see a lot of influencers use this for foundation which provides a great application as well. Ambient Lighting Edit Brush II (Deer) - the most aesthetically-pleasing but my least favorite among the bunch. The larger end is angled which I use for applying powder contour. However, the smaller end is really thin which I only use for applying powder blush topper / highlighter on my face. Personally, you have to make it work if you’ll use this for HG finishing powders. If you are torn on getting this, get the ambient lighting edit brush instead. BTW, I bought mine from Sephora.ph app and abroad (SG, Milan), Beautylish online, pasabuy from friends during Sephora sale. Makeupcart.ph, Cella and Razza Beauty (IG) also offers them. I seriously need some help with foundation application because I'm struggling every single time I do my makeup. I've been using a sponge for a while and sometimes it looks okay, but other days my foundation ends up patchy, streaky, or just disappears into the sponge. It feels like I'm wasting product and money. I've been seeing a lot of people talk about flat foundation brushes lately, and now I'm wondering if they're actually better than a sponge for getting a smooth finish. I don't care about trends, I just want something that works consistently. I'm also trying to find a reliable brush brand because every review online seems sponsored or completely mixed. Although it is easy to break the camera slightly during rolling segments at high speed, the game as a whole holds up well overall. The fact that you’re allowed you to complete each world using whatever type of movement and controls you want is a neat touch, despite the frustration of insta-death and respawn with a single misplaced step or hit as this could certainly frustrate and put off younger players new to the series. My only gripe really is that the worlds can often feel barren, with very little in the way of enemies initially. Although I only managed to complete the first world during play for the writing of this review, the levels, although varied, seem to have a lot more platforming than enemy encounters. This might change as the game progresses, but like I said, could be off putting to some people. The Baabot boss encounters provide a good challenge at the end of each world, meaning you have to master Bubsy’s full range of moves if you want to stand a chance. One of the best things for me though, is that the game isn’t charging full price on the Xbox Store at launch, meaning that it’s going to be a lot more tempting for the casual gamer to try. If you’re looking for a solid, fun, yet challenging, colourful slice of gaming goodness reminiscent of the old school platformers from the early days of 3D, then Bubsy 4D might just be the game for you to scratch that platforming itch (great, Bubsy’s humour has started to rub off on me too). It’s just a shame that Fabraz – well known for developing highly regarded indie platformers – stumbles slightly when it comes to the technical side and certain gameplay aspects. Even so, the bobcat’s commendable comeback shouldn’t be dismissed with a mere eye-roll. Loot Level Chill - Lyle Pendle - 9 / 10 Against all odds, Bubsy 4D is an incredible 3D platformer. I promise this isn't a bad joke, although there are plenty of them here. MonsterVine - Spencer Legacy - 4.5 / 5 Bubsy 4D is a far better revival for the boisterous bobcat than I think anyone could have anticipated he’d ever receive. Fabraz nailed it out of the park here, turning a series that was essentially the internet’s platforming laughingstock into a brilliant and extremely enjoyable 3D platformer that I couldn’t stop playing. The camera can be a bit unwieldy on occasion, but that’s nowhere near enough to stop Bubsy 4D from being a top-notch game. Multiplayer First - Dean James - 7.5 / 10 Bubsy 4D could have easily been written off as another disappointing attempt to revive the series, but developer Fabraz put some love and care into it and gave us the best Bubsy game since at least the original two. The controls actually work well, the humor is there, and the actual gameplay is quite fun in a 3D environment. The biggest downside to the game overall is just how short it is, with only 15 levels, which feels more like a demo in that way. Even so, at least the series appears to be on the right track, and hopefully, this will be just the foundation to build upon for more fleshed-out adventures for Bubsy. Netto’s Game Room - Joonatan Syrjätie - 5 / 5 Bubsy 4D manages to be a consistent, well-paced platformer that doesn't waste your time. It encourages you to master its mechanics while providing smooth controls and a great soundtrack. I honestly can't believe I'm saying this, but I legitimately like Bubsy now. That says everything about what Fabraz managed to accomplish; they didn't just break this bobcat's curse, they made him an underdog worth rooting for. PlayStation Universe - Joe Richards - 7.5 / 10 Bubsy 4D has the makings of a modern classic, helmed by a team that has a clear ambition and design philosophy. It's issues are more fundamental, and in the fabric of Bubsy himself. I can take self-deprecation, but there comes a point where it stops being funny and becomes borderline pathetic. A mismatched level approach to level design means that both feel weak in spots, and I think you could have done more to bring those together. This is the best Bubsy game, but I can't say it isn't without fault. Push Square - Stephen Tailby - 6 / 10 In some ways, Bubsy 4D is the best the series has ever been; the bobcat's wide range of abilities affords him a huge amount of freedom to move through levels with style. However, a fairly narrow focus on movement means other aspects suffer; enemies may as well not be there, and stages are static and sparsely furnished. On one hand it's the highest praise a game can receive to wish for more. On the other hand the game's 15 levels are completed so quickly that you wonder if that's all there is. If you're motivated to achieve 100% completion and start climbing leaderboards Bubsy 4D definitely has more to offer, but a few more worlds would have made the experience way more satisfying.
