Hi, sorry to hear this. I have pain in my hip/groin that goes into my SI. I have found that a gel seat cushion helps a lot. I also recently got a jelly band and it feels great! I tried the injections but those didn’t do much for me. I found doing stabilizing workouts and Pilates are great, I have to limit impact activities as much as possible.

Best seat cushions or lumbar support for long driving shifts?
I recently got a job as a school bus driver, and my route is fairly long every morning and afternoon. It’s starting to take a toll on my back, especially after long hours of driving. I’ve been looking into seat cushions and noticed a lot of affordable options on sites like Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Alibaba, and similar platforms. Most seem to be memory foam or gel-style cushions, and some also include lumbar support. From what I’ve read, ergonomic cushions with good support can help reduce pressure on the lower back and improve posture during long shifts. I’m wondering what you all use. Do you recommend a specific seat cushion or brand that actually works well for bus driving, or is it better to focus on a separate lumbar support instead? Any real-world experience would really help before I buy one. submitted by /u/User_zero_wan to r/SchoolBusDrivers [link] [comments]

Purple Double Seat Cushion
I was having quite a bit of sit bone pain from my used Amia. Instead of purchasing a new chair, I bought the Purple Double Seat Cushion and it has been a gamechanger. Seat Cushion Recommendations
I’m wondering if you all have a recommended seat cushion that you find most comfortable. I only have experience with Roho’s so I’m not even sure what other cushions would feel like. I’ve had the hybrid cushions and air cushions but so far in my 11 years post injury, I’ve been most comfortable in the Roho High Profile cushion. That’s what I use on my manual which is my main chair. I also have the Permobile F5 standing power chair which I use to drive from. I have the Roho Hybrid Elite on that one and I find it so much more uncomfortable. I already have relentless lower back pain and Idk if it’s the cushion or backrest or both but it makes my lower back pain waaay worse. I’m thinking of getting the high profile cushion for that chair as well but I wanted some recommendations for other cushions that may be more comfortable that I just haven’t tried yet. I’m weary of trying solid or gel cushions just because I’m in my chair 12-16 hours a day and hardly ever do pressure relief but I’ve never had any skin issues which is probably thanks to the air cushions and being as active as I can. What cushions do you all find most comfortable? Any skin break down issues with it so far? Do solid cushions provide more stability? And do you think that stability would reduce lower back pain? submitted by /u/ThisIsWheelLife to r/spinalcordinjuries [link] [comments]

Aftermarket cushions for the Mariyung seats?
I usually catch the train from central to Katoomba a few times a year. Did my first trip on a Mariyung, and while I appreciate many people do like the new seats - for me it was agonising. I had a really, really expletive-filled, violence-inciting rant I was going to post here, from the carriage somewhere between Wenty and Ktown. I was deadset considering lying on the floor of the train to try and get comfortable. I ended up trying to lie flat across the 2 seats with my feet on the window and my bag jammed under my head and back. Like, it was so bad, I'm not sure I can catch that train again. I'll just drive if at all possible. But to be constructive - Anyone tried bringing their own cushions? Like is there a gel cover I can get from AliExpress or something? Surely there's a world of aeroplane travel accessories that might help? submitted by /u/ObviousFeature522 to r/SydneyTrains [link] [comments]

Sit bone measurement, gel cushion?
Was at a bikeshop and they had a sit bone measurement tool/seat. I'm hunting for a gel cushion that shows the hotspots that I can just put on a flat surface and sit my naked rear RIGHT ON IT. Anyone got some ideas? I'm about to get creative, like putting SLIME inside of a food saver bag, color the bottom of it RED, and seal both ends. could be fun... would rather just buy something though. submitted by /u/Consistent-Housing65 to r/cycling [link] [comments]

Air seats, cyclist's padded shorts, extra cushioning and a majoooor dilemma
I get a sore butt on long rides, say more than 6-7 hours of riding per day. This really gets to me if I'm riding on consecutive days, and my tolerance diminishes with every passing day. The options before me are - Gel seat - ruled out because of poor reliability of ones in my budget, and because the ones that don't become hard/settle in a couple of years are prohibitively expensive. I'm more of a buy it for life person. Air seat - these seem to solve the longevity issues of gel seats. Great isn't it? Only until I learn these greatly hinder feedback from the bike. I'm someone who keenly listens to my bike, who really who needs all the feeback my bike gives, in part because I'm someone who rides enthusiastically, and in part because I live in a region where roads are almost never straight, or designed and built for speed, and surfaces can often be sketchy. Those who ride with an air-seat, by how much does an air seat reduce feedback? This is when I chanced on the third solution Increasing seat cushioning: I've been avoiding all along largely because I've not heard/read much about it. I don't mind the increased ride height (have a hunch my triangle would be much more comfortable if I sit a bit higher). But, I've hardly read anything about this anywhere. Does it affect the feedback from the bike in any way? How is the (improved) comfort on long-rides? What kind of cushioning do you suggest I go with? Ofcourse with all of these I would be wearing padded cycling shorts for my own comfort. Is there any other solution that you would suggest? Thank you in advance. submitted by /u/BehalarRotno to r/motorcyclegear [link] [comments]

Western seat saver/cushion recommendations?
We've been through it this year with our horses, but I'm trying to stay positive and am trying to plan ahead for some long trail rides/camping adventures in the future (if they could keep it together and stop hurting themselves). With a birthday coming up, does anyone have any seat savers/seat cushions they recommend for a western saddle? My saddle is comfortable enough, but by hour five I start thinking it would be awfully nice to have some extra padding. I currently have the Weaver Gel Pad and its fine, but I know sheepskin seems to be a top recommendation. submitted by /u/surefoot_ to r/Horses [link] [comments]

Anyone tried these orthopedic gel mats on their seats?
I am about to re-upholster my scooter's seat, and was going to install a gel pad to increase the height a little and improve confort on long rides, I've done this before so I am confident in how to do it. However, since the seat is pretty big, and I wanna cover the whole thing, I was looking at what gel pad to use. The ones marketed as being for motorcycles are all small as they are meant for individual seats. I could use 2 (for my wife), but they wouldn't cover the whole seat, and they are a little pricey for a half measure solution. However I found these hexagonal gel pads that are meant to go on your mattress which are, well, the size of a mattress. I could easily cut it to size and cover the whole thing with a single slab. They even come in 3cm thickness which seem slime plenty. I've never used these types of gel mats so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them? I've seen some motorcycle cushions that use something very similar to this inside them, but never tried one. submitted by /u/Noja37 to r/motorcycles [link] [comments]

Steelcase Leap V2 Gel seat cushion to fit

Got the idea from other reddit user, who cut a square purple gel cushion, but went on the search for one that i didn't have to do the dirty work of cutting one down to shape. This one measures 48cm (left to right) and 44cm (front to back) and 2.5cm tall, so it is almost the exact size of the chair, and with it being gel, it contours to the seats shape, the only thing you cant really replicate is the waterfall front which you can see, but i doubt you would want extra padding on the front part for your legs to drape down anyway, it also has a little coccyx cut out to relieve any extra pressure there!. Will probably just throw a cheap seat cover over it and call it a day, this works out for me, but thought id share if others out there were looking for more support on the cheap. I'm a relatively heavy guy 100kg and i find longer sits on the chair required a bit more support. Got this one off temu, tried reverse image searching on aliexpress, and couldn't seem to find one of the same size., a lot of 43x45cm ones, which is slightly smaller, which would mean it wont sit as flush to the full seat, but i reckon would work fine too, since you don't exactly sit right on the edge of the seat. submitted by /u/Necessary-Pudding-40 to r/OfficeChairs [link] [comments]

Seat Cushions worth it?
I’m new to riding and my pillion usually complains of numb legs and back pain after long or bumpy rides. Our bike’s pillion seat isn’t very comfortable, so I’m thinking of getting a gel-based cushion that absorbs shocks and gives better support. Has anyone tried these? Are they worth it, and which brands/models would you recommend? submitted by /u/Educational_Cap781 to r/punebikers [link] [comments]

Seat Cushioning Suggestions!!
Hey, Hey, Everyone! So I’ve gotten my first bike in about 23 years 😅 went budget for a Voodoo Horde until I decide if this is something I’ll be sticking with! Question is, I broke it in with a solid 12 mile ride, and the seat is god awful! So I swapped it out for a more cushioned one, which still isn’t feeling too great! I know a lot of this is, me not riding a bike for over two decades so it’ll take some getting used to back on a saddle but what are your suggestions for better seats, more cushion, or those gel covers? I do a lot of commuting with some trials and bridal ways mixed in - or do I suck it up and get used to the feel of those highly uncomfortable padded trousers and liners? Cheers, everyone! submitted by /u/seeingtheworldlive to r/Hardtailgang [link] [comments]

Handle Bar Risers & Seat Cushion Review
Handlebar Risers & Seat Cushion Review – 2022 XSR900 Handlebar Risers: Installed 40mm risers (25mm pullback) from Amazon. I was skeptical of the quality at first, but they fit great and feel solid. Install took under 15 mins: • Remove top caps • Tug handlebars upward • Mount risers using OEM cap screws • Place bars back on top, torque everything to spec My experience: These risers noticeably change handling. Low-speed turns felt strange at first, but once I got used to it, the riding position became incredibly natural—reminded me of my old 2017 XSR900. My back, shoulders, and wrists felt great after a 5-hour ride with lots of bends. It’s the most comfortable riding position I’ve had on this bike. Seat Cushion: Planned a long ride a few weeks back and knew the stock seat would kill me. Grabbed a strap-on cushion as a temporary fix while I figure out whether to rebuild/replace the seat. My experience: This cushion is so good I’m not sure I even want to upgrade the seat anymore. It doesn’t slide, it’s super comfy, and makes long rides a breeze. Feels like I’m on a Harley, comfort-wise. It straps on with two bands under the seat—done. On looks: I haven’t addressed looks because comfort is my priority. That said, I’m planning to add an OEM front cowl to hide the risers a bit. Still, I’ll take comfort over aesthetics any day. ⸻ TL;DR: • Installed 40mm risers (Amazon) – changed handling but improved comfort significantly • Took a long ride—my back, shoulders, and wrists felt great • Got a simple strap-on seat cushion—surprisingly amazing comfort • Might not even replace the stock seat anymore • Planning to add a front cowl for aesthetics, but function > looks Let me know what you think! submitted by /u/Wavering_Tone to r/xsr900 [link] [comments]
