my personal glow up tips that entirely transformed me
hi! i read a lot of tips online and i'm always looking to self improve. however i thought i'd contribute a bit of what i've learned already throughout the past 3-ish years of self improvement that has RADICALLY changed my appearance. hope you enjoy! some background info- i used to be pretty ugly, got bullied a lot, insane acne, a bit more chubby than skinny-fat, greasy hair, bad outfits, etc. i saw a beautiful girl on Pinterest and copied her makeup routine and then got really into learning more how to improve. so this is what i've learned that helps me the most. brows/lashes: - take a spoolie, and use castor oil on it and apply to your lashes and brows. let it sit for 30min-couple hours before washing off. it helps with growth, and its natural! i used to use babelash which works well, but it triggered ezcema around my eyes and brows... and honestly the castor oil works so much better! - PLEASE shape your eyebrows. pluck around it, and in between. make the shape very prominent. brush up your brows and use scissors to trim them. make it so when you wear brow gel they look sharp. - speaking of brow gel, use brow gel. it makes you not have to worry about them throughout the day skincare: - use DERMATOLOGY products. go to a dermatologist. get prescribed something that actually works. over the counter skincare doesn't usually work well (for me at the least). i used to have insane forehead acne and blackheads in my nose. i use tretinoin (strength 0.05%) at night, and clindamyasin in the morning on my forehead and any spot i break out. - for glowy skin, i swear by the Rhode glazing milk. i just added this into my routine in march and it really refreshes my skin. pairing with sunscreen will hydrate and glow your skin too, and it also helps with makeup application. i also live in Florida and get exposed to a lot of sun, and it helps rejuvenate dry sun-exposed skin. - EAT LESS PROCESSED FOODS + SUGAR! this made all the difference. no amount of skincare can fully block out a bad diet. when i used to eat lots of processed foods & things with added sugars i would break out more often. now i barely eat it, and sometimes if i do my face will immediately break out the next day. plus it makes your face more puffy. - use q-tips after your shower to pop small whiteheads/blackheads. my mom taught me this and after a hot shower, just clean out your nose, and any other small spot on your face that could turn into a bad pimple. its very preventative. don't press too hard with the q-tips and tear your skin though! if you have a really bad pimple that's hard to get out, use a lancet (small disposable needle), squeeze out with q-tip until the core is out, wash it out with antibacterial soap, and put a small circle band-aid on. - use eye patches after a hangover or a night of bad sleep. they're not entirely preformative and they do help. lips/teeth: - use a toothbrush and scrub the dead cells off your lips. you could also use a sugar scrub. apply a good aquaphor or lip mask after. - brush your teeth, use a waterpik after every meal, floss your teeth, use whitening mouthwash for 15 secs. bleach your yellow teeth. wear your retainer every night. make sure you brush your teeth before washing your face so you don't leave toothpaste residue on your face. diet/exercise: - aim for 10k steps a day. i average 15-20k per day. it's not hard to reach if you make the time for it. walk circles in your room or house if necessary. get a walking pad (i'm on mine typing rn) - lift heavy and have good form. build your way up in weights, don't ego lift. try to get all the muscle groups in a week. hit abs every other day. - if you have lifelong digestive issues like me, this is a weird hack. use the bathroom before eating your meal. DO NOT DRINK WATER WHEN EATIING! chew your meal and eat it slow and focus on not stressing. after your meal, drink a cup of water or two while standing up. this helps me use the bathroom. (very effective when paired with morning hot black coffee or a yogurt chia bowl) - eat clean mostly. 3 meals a day, smaller portions, low sugar, whole foods but some processed (can't give up my sugar free maple syrup sorry) - don't overdo it with intense cardio. it'll make you hungrier and more tired. i used to do an hour of incline speed walking and then wonder why my hormones were so off and why i would crash in the day and live in dread and misery LMAOOO. now i just focus on lots of steps. haircare: - wash every other day. if you have dandruff please buy a dandruff shampoo. 2x shampoo and 1x condition ends from ears down. - use castor oil in your hair the day after using a heat tool to rejuvenate your hair. use heat protectant before blow drying. i use a Moroccan oil one, it's really light and smells great. - after you wash your hair, let your hair sit in a towel for an hour and air dry for 15 minutes before blow drying upside down. it'll give you more volume, and less blow drying time. also blow dry your left and right sides of your head against the other side at the root for more volume. mousse paired with this helps too if you're planning on needing a lot of lift for a blowout. - my preference is to wash my hair in the afternoon/night, and i don't touch it until the next morning after drying. no fingers running through it or nothing, it keeps it clean and in shape. body care: - use a good smelling body wash and try to pair your body lotion scent to your body wash. make sure you wash your ankles. immediately after getting out of the shower, dry yourself with a towel and put lotion on instantly. this will lock it in for smooth skin. - use a sugar scrub before shaving. you can make them easily at home as well! i started making mine and its so good. nails: - grow out your natural nails if possible. mine are extremely long and it's so much cheaper to maintain. i have been doing this since middle school and it's saved me a lot of money. - file your nails into a shape that helps them not break. mine are oval/almond shape. make sure the sides of your nail are filed pretty straight. file as soon as you detect small breakage. - use a natural nail strengthener under any polish. it is your bullet proof vest under your dress (your nail polish). i use an OPI one, but the LA girls calcium builder is great too. - always wear nail polish. it protects your nails and just looks classy and chic. natural long nails can be scary looking sometimes without color. use a base coat, two layers of polish and a top coat. replace every 1-2 weeks or when damaged. - cuticle oil makes your nails grow faster and your cuticles more healthy. trim your cuticles as well lmk if you want a part two with makeup and other tips! just thought i'd share 😄 submitted by /u/sugarcashews to r/BeautyUnlocked [link] [comments]

Hello! Just wanted to share my glow-up and see what people think. I saw some really impressive ones here, by the way—props to y'all. First, I want to say I didn't have any surgeries or anything like that. I was really heartbroken after I got rejected by my childhood-teenage crush, lol. I trained for about four years, did whatever it took—gym, diet, sleep, supplements, lifestyle changes, and much more. I'm really grateful for this glow-up. My life actually hasn't changed much in the usual sense; I'm still the same shy nerd who barely leaves my room. I've still never even been on a date and don't really know how to talk to people. But overall, I feel so much happier. My health and overall quality of life have improved drastically, even simple things like how I'm treated by a worker when buying coffee, or wearing the clothes I've always wanted to wear, and feeling better about myself. :) Edit: Guys, thank you all for your kind words and tips for further improvement. I truly appreciate it. 🙏 submitted by /u/gearz2005 to r/GlowUps [link] [comments]

What’s a “glow up” tip that actually made a noticeable difference for you?
I feel like the idea of a “glow up” is everywhere now, and there are so many tips online about how to look better. Some of them are complicated, some are expensive, and some feel a bit unrealistic to keep up with. But I’ve been thinking… sometimes the things that actually make a difference are much simpler than we expect. For me, it wasn’t a product or a trend. It was just being more consistent with basic things like sleeping better, drinking more water, and keeping my routine simple instead of constantly changing it. It didn’t happen overnight, but after a while I noticed I looked a bit more “put together” without really trying that hard. It made me realize that a glow up doesn’t always have to be dramatic. Now I’m curious about other people. What’s a glow up tip that actually made a real, noticeable difference for you? submitted by /u/Wild_Problem_8065 to r/BeautyGear [link] [comments]

My glow up tips for a guy as an 18 year old girl
I have seen so many sad comments from guys about being single here so here are my tips ;) You do you so take it as you will. Hygiene: Shower minimum 4 times a week. If you sweat everyday, shower everyday after sweating. Wash your body well, and on your hair, face, neck and pubes use gentle cleaning products. For your hair and scalp, read about types of scalp skin since different types need different care. I think for every type of scalp, basic conditioners and leave in conditioners go a long, long way. Grooming: a) Groom your eyebrows, please. It creates a big change on your face. b) Take a look at different face shapes. Pick a haircut and a beard/moustache style which suits your face type and jawline. Skin care: Read about different skin types. The most basic of basic skincare routines is: face wash -> moisturiser -> sunscreen -> clear lip balm in the morning and face wash -> moisturiser -> lip balm at night. You could extend it if you need to but this is the basic one. Fashion: Our expectations from y'all here is bare minimum bro like don't wear skin tight jeans/pants and nothing too crazy. You could look at different aesthetics: old money, Y2K and softboy aesthetics are some I and my girlfriends like. Smell: Please smell good bro like the smell factor is the biggest one here. The safest bet would be to go on reddit and pick crowd favourite scents. Again nothing too overpowering and suffocating. Mental health: All of this would go to waste if you're not in the mental space to be in front of a person with your whole self. Most of you guys need therapy, I am dead serious. Be respectful: Read about basic human decency and what it entails, that and communication is something which will carry you long term. Physical fitness: Now you might be thinking that most girls care about looks and you are not wrong. Physical health is something totally in your control and basic 10k steps of walking a day or yoga maybe and increasing protein intake aren't very difficult to do. Food, everyone's relationship to it is different and if you don't have an unhealthy relationship with it, you could try lowering carbs, fat and sugar upto a certain extent and not to unhealthily low levels 💀. The rule of thumb here is that the dieting shouldn't take a toll on your energy levels. So yeah those are my two cents. I think it would be good to take it one step at a time and focus on one thing before going to the next. Consistency matters far more than perfection. Also I'd like to add in here that y'all are gorgeous in every way already and these are just level ups. 💋 submitted by /u/No-Car-3914 to r/TeenIndia [link] [comments]

"Game Changer" glow up tips
What's your absolute no-brainer game changing glow up things that had a huge effect? I don't mean the basic "drink 1,5 - 2 l water every day" and "eat healthy" kind of tips but the real get down to it ones. For example, I started doing martial arts and lost 4 kg in fat in a few months plus people said I have a different kind of aura, more confident. Then I got some more ear piercings like a helix and second and third lobes and dyed my hair back to my natural color and people started commenting on it all. Somebody said to do sheet masks once every week, somebody else once suggested treatments like micro needling - but what's really really effective? submitted by /u/franilein to r/BeautyUnlocked [link] [comments]

Nikkah in a month, insha'Allah, hygiene, Glow up and beautifying tips.
MuslimMarriage mods removed my post. Nikkah in a month, insha'Allah, hygiene, Glow up and beautifying tips. Hello everyone so basically it's my 28f nikkah in a month, and I don't know what to do. All my life I was prohibited from beautifying myself, I didn't wear makeup, dresses, no hair removal, except for the obligatory ones (which I shaved), I don't even know how to style my hair, (except for buns which was my go style). Now that I'm getting married, nothing big just the nikkah ceremony, and then court marriage, I don't know what to do, I'm so lost, I don't know where to start from, the nikkah is in his country thus we'll be traveling and this makes things harder for me because new people and environment. My mom doesn't really help, and I don't have anyone else I can go to without being judged, so please help me with, Feminine dressing tips I'm a Hijabi, and what should I wear for the first night. hair removal tips, what should I do with strawberry legs?, do wax my whole body? Because I'm very insecure about my body hair? how to remove hyperpigmentation from certain areas, What should i do with my nails? I am a full adult but honestly I don't know what to, and never really explored it because if I did anything I would be questioned by my grandma as to why am I doing and for whom, and get called horrible names, thus I absolutely have no clue. submitted by /u/Jell0Bell0 to r/muslimgirlswithtaste [link] [comments]

"Extreme glow up" tips?
I has been months since I have not felt like myself - visually and internally. I have struggled with weight, skincare, haircare and beauty. What are the must do's for a complete Glow-up? I would want to lose about 6-8kg of weight and be a bit more fit, for skincare I would want a smooth skin, without blemishes and bad texture (also my chin and mouth area is breaking out), finally I'm trying to bring back my healthy hair - I've bleached it many times, had braids in and was a swimmer for 8 years so my hair got very damaged. What could I do to improve my glow-up? submitted by /u/SunNo3832 to r/BeautyUnlocked [link] [comments]

Share your best glow-up tips to end 2025 strong!
Warning: Very long post filled with glowup tips and tricks learned over the years, from women who have it all ;) We're at the last quarter of 2025. Let's end the year strong by sharing your favorite glowup tips, whether that's emotional, physical, or mental! Here are some of mine: Hair Invest in good haircare tools - Whether that's buying a worthwhile tool (Dyson/Phillips) or a wooden comb (Hua Mulan is my favorite), your haircare tools should be quality. Never scrimp on products that could potentially damage your hair (like an off-brand hair dryer!) Know your hair porosity - I have thick, wavy hair but I'm a low porosity girl whose hair feels instantly heavy or greasy with the wrong conditioners. Most people are low porosity if they haven't undergone too many hair treatments or if walang rebond/bleach. Then you'll know which conditioners are more likely to work for you Pre-wash hair oil treatment - Add any suitable oil to your hair (for me it's Jojoba or Sunflower) at least 30 minutes before showering, rinse it off with conditioner. Less frizz and your hair will feel much smoother. Skin Hydrating Toners - For girls with dehydrated skin (different from dry skin), layering your toners (at least 2-3 thin layers) will give your skin the bounce and dewiness it desperately needs. Mochi skin can be achieved by the right toner. (For me, Hada Labo in the white bottle is a good start) Sunscreen - Never leave the house without wearing it. Yes, even on rainy or cloudy days. A lot of Japanese and PH brands have perfected facial sunscreen without the thick, heavy feeling (Belo Dewy Essence is the closest we have to light, dewy japanese sunscreen!). Lightening Dark Spots/PIH - Cos de Baha's TXN is a true life saver and has significantly improved my PIH in a month. If you suffer from dark spots, also consider hydroquinone. Pick a routine and stick with it - The best skincare routine is the one you can consistently follow. You can start with 4 (cleanser, toner, moisturizer + spf in the day), and slowly integrate serums, vitamin C, and exfoliation as you go. It just takes time and getting used to Makeup A good eyelash curler - will change everything. Know if your eye shape is more round or wide, and adjust accordingly. Not all curlers are made the same, which is why they can cause your lashes to lie flat no matter how many times you curl. Shiseido creates different curlers for different eye shapes. Know your undertone - If your makeup looks out of place, too pinkish or too orange, it's because of your undertone. Know this and you will unlock the right colors for your face. Btw, lavender and lilac blushes look great on cool tone girls, while pinkish hues can look orangey. Foundation is thinner than concealer for your face - A lot of people use concealer all over their face, but the product is really meant to cover smaller areas, hence why we use it for dark spots/circles primarily. You'll achieve a more skin-like finish with actual foundation rather than concealer. BB cream also works. Sample often - Say no to blind buys, especially for expensive makeup. As much as you can, sample in stores like Look At Me (MOA) or at Rustan's. It will save you from buying makeup you don't use. A good color corrector - is one thing every gal needs, especially if you have dark circles. Skin Food, Pixi, and NARS all have suitable correctors. You'll know it's good if you no longer need to wear concealer/very minimal concealer. Falsies - Can up your game and make your eyes that much prettier. Choose based on your eye shape. Fox lashes suit longer eyes, while Dog/Puppy lashes suit rounder eyes. Perfume Signature Scent - So chic. If people compliment you often on it, or if you feel confident in it, it's a good candidate. But also consider the hot and humid weather in the Philippines, where caramel and vanilla scents can cause headaches. Decants and samples - Buy 1mL samples instead of bottles if you're not 100% you'll like the scent - it scratches the itch to buy, too. You can get 1-2 days of wear on a sample and know if it's for you Spritz your hair - Perfume that is lightly applied to hair wafts in the air very pleasantly; if you want your scent to last, spray here. Lifestyle Be serious, but don't take things seriously - Guy ghosts you after 3 great dates? Kick him to the curb. Didn't do your best at work? Laugh it off and try again. Be serious about your goals but playful about the means. Life is too short to agonize over people and situations that aren't meant to last. Less stress = better outlook, better looks, too! Incorporate movement - Walk a little everyday and do some exercise. Dance workouts, yoga tutorials, and at home pilates - all good. You need to find something you can tolerate. The skin glow that working out gives cannot be imitated by makeup or skincare alone Tea in the morning - Met a 40 year old woman who didn't look a day over 28. Her secret is jasmine and green tea or lemon with sea salt in the morning. It could be genetics, but I do it anyway and I feel refreshed. Full of antioxidants and the good stuff. Intentional Eating - Do you really want that triple cheeseburger, or are you avoiding confronting work stress? Do you want that bag of chips, or are you just trying to move on from a failed talking stage? Eating can be emotional - and if you can handle your emotions well, you'll learn when you're using food as a cope or as something to nourish your body Say No - Boundaries are everything. You get better at this as you get older. Say no to the extra work tasks. Don't be afraid to stand your ground if someone's making you uncomfortable. The better you get at protecting your boundaries, the more confidence you get and more alignment you'll be in. These are just a few of the many things I've acquired over the years. A mouthful, I know. But tiis-ganda is real, it is a work of a lifetime. Would love to hear your tips and tricks, too. xx submitted by /u/QueasyExamination7 to r/beautytalkph [link] [comments]

Underrated glow up tip: Thin brows
Okay, maybe not so underrated because thinner brows are a bit in style right now, at least online. But seriously, if you have sparse wispy brows already, embrace it and draw your brows thin! I used to overfill my brows without realizing it. I started doing thin brows on a whim a year ago, and now noticing that the way I do makeup now suits me better. Regretting the blunder years of packing on brow powder, lol Color of your brow pencil matters a lot too! A light-neutral brown pencil looks best on me. Go lighter if you have dark hair and slightly darker if you have light hair. submitted by /u/Alarming_Sorbet_9906 to r/vindictapoc [link] [comments]

What’s your life changing glow up tip?
Share your glow up tips! Let’s help each other. ✨✨ 2024 is our glow up era ✨✨ Personally here’s mine: - Wardrobe is the easiest thing to change, making sure you’re presentable, your dress is pressed, your clothes smell good goes a long way - If you have acne problem, you can self medicate and experiment with skincare but the best way to cure acne imo is just go to the dermatologist and get whatever they prescribe submitted by /u/ending-things to r/adultingph [link] [comments]

I just saw some tagged photos from a night out and damn did I look awful! I thought I looked decent but dang, nope! I can’t stand how I look anymore but idk what to do.
