Ich bin Webentwickler und beschäftigte mich den ganzen Tag mit einzelnen Pixeln, deshalb erkenne ich Phishing-Seiten normalerweise in weniger als 10 Sekunden. Warum war das so effektiv? Vielleicht hatte ich einfach einen langen Tag und bin müde. Das könnte definitiv der Grund sein, warum das bei mir funktioniert hat. Aber ich glaube, etwas anderes war diesmal anders: Das ist das erste Mal, dass ich eine scheinbar echte E-Mail-Konversation mit jemandem hatte, der am Ende versucht hat, mich zu phishen. Normalerweise bekomme ich so etwas nur über Cold- oder Spam-E-Mails, aber diese Person hat mich tatsächlich über das Formular auf meiner Website kontaktiert. Und sie hat den Phishing-Link erst geschickt, nachdem ich ihr geantwortet hatte. Im Moment gab es noch viele offensichtliche Hinweise, aber diese Phishing-Versuche werden mit der Zeit nur raffinierter werden. Es ist trotzdem seltsam für mich, wie viel Aufmerksamkeit sie bestimmten Details geschenkt haben. TLDR: Is there a way to have a gmail that is agnostic about devices phone numbers and happy with only a login and password? I have three emails. I use them for different things. My first one is mainly on my devices...ah hell it doesn't matter how. But the first one has my phone number. The second one doesn't. It pesters me for phone number or a back up email and I can always skip. The third one also pesters me but never satisfied with merely the correct login and password. Repeat: the login and password are 100% correct. It just won't let me login unless it gets access to my phone number as well. This is with two factor turned off (please don't preach to me about two factor) The second one never Requires a backup email or phonenumber. Why does the third? Same device. Same wifi. First thing first, im not a native english speaker but i hope you get the message clear enough to understand. Tlauncher is not safe and you already know that, but what i havent seen is that people actually losing their account on different services (gmail, riot, discord etc.) with proof and screenshot and whatnot. and maybe i know why i get hacked by them and end up with the proof. for context, i played cracked minecraft by "team eXtreme" in the past with my neighbor to play and then when they got DMCA or removed, i stop playing the game entirely. but this neighbor told me to play again and mod them, and thats where he introduce me with Tlauncher and last december 2025 i sign up because he told me to get a skin and "look cool". okay here's the proof that they indeed stealing from other : My Email they removed every email i have all the way from the first time i make this gmail, but on my phone its very much still there. dude dont want to leave any trace. (however i only revealed to you guys only the stolen bits of it bcs of privacy reasons. Look at image 1-5). youtube channel they uploaded their campaign/promotion video on my stolen youtube channel. and this maybe the reason i get hacked by them, when people said "but i used Tlauncher for years and nothing happend" maybe its because on their gmail account they have no youtube channel or something similar to promote Tlauncher so its not their priority, and their priority is to hack someone with preferably has platform with an audience even small one. My two kids birthdays are both next month and one has been talking about Minecraft non-stop. His friends play, he loves the movie, I even got him some Minecraft comics which he would not put down for weeks. Minecraft was on sale, I thought it was time. I spent a couple days googling “cheapest way to run 24/7 Minecraft server”, I want all of us to be in on this! First, some background about myself. I grew up with computers in the 90s. I've built my own computers since the early 2000s. I work in tech. I have 500 games on my steam account from when Humble Bundle used to sell 20 for a buck. I am not, at all, new at this. On Sunday, the first thing I did was get Minecraft for me, my wife, and our two gaming buddies. So far, so good. Then, I googled about how to gift Minecraft for my kids (https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/26602043483405). I set up gmail accounts and Microsoft family sharing. Microsoft family sharing is trash A little more about me. I try really hard to keep things on the up and up. I used to sail the seven seas, but after I’ve been working for a while I try to support developers. I even have a receipt for a WinRAR license purchase that I used to pull out for people to laugh at. I really wanted to do things how MS told me to. I've previously purchased Windows 11 and Office with this account. I thought about lying about their ages, and giving them non-family accounts, but thought it wouldn't matter too much. Boy, was I ever fucking wrong about that. Later that day, I tried to buy Minecraft on my son’s account. It requested me to request and purchase on my parent account. Okay, fine. But it failed. That's weird, it worked earlier. I retried, and it failed again. I thought it may have been a card issue, so I switched cards. It failed. I thought it may have been an issue with all credit cards, so I added my Venmo account. That failed. My account was locked. I tried again, but contacted support after it failed. I could no longer unlock my account myself. The first thing I tried was online support. Did you know that you can’t contact online support if you can’t log in? Now you do! If that was the only issue I wouldn't be here, though. After racking my brain I finally figured out I could log into my son’s account and ask about my main account. Support had me try a bunch of different things to unlock my account, but it all failed, and they told me to try again in 24 hours. I was a little upset at this point. Little did I know what was coming. I tried again a few times after a day. My account was locked AGAIN without the unlock option. I then contacted phone support. This will definitely work, I’m dealing with a real person! The person on the line tried, I assume, their best, all while trying to sell me an Xbox game pass trial a bunch of times. I finally said okay, you can sign me up for $1, if the purchase even worked. It did not work (honestly lol). One of the things that we figured was that we could try raising the age of our child accounts so that they could be gifted Minecraft by a third person - my wife. However, they said that they couldn’t unlock my account but would escalate to account support. Ok, I thought. I was able to purchase for my son and left it at that, waiting for my account to be unlocked. Definitely no way my account gets locked, I didn’t do anything except try to buy Minecraft a bunch of times for my friends and family :) My account gets locked I got the good news the next day: “I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to follow up regarding your purchasing issue. After escalation, the issue has been resolved, and you should now be able to make purchases on your account without any problems. If you need any further assistance, please feel free to reply to this email.” Great! I thought. Everyone has a copy except my daughter, I’m going to go ahead and gift her a copy. Account locked. Um, okay that’s strange. I tried again and couldn’t even get past the captcha. I tried purchasing from my wife’s account, and she started to get the same failure warnings I did. I tried purchasing from my daughter’s account - needs a parent’s permission. The other guy didn't raise my daughter's age! But the parent also can’t login! I called support AGAIN. After being transferred, support finally told me to fill out an account appeal form. I said okay but kinda scoffed - what did I do wrong other than trying to buy Minecraft for my kids? “Hello, We're following up on your service request. We have reviewed this account and confirmed that due to suspicious activity, this customer will not be permitted to make purchases on the Microsoft platform. we are unable to provide any further help with this matter Kind regards Abdelkarim” I’m just so sad and tired and frustrated. It’s 5:00 am here. I'm the carpool driver tomorrow. I’m supposed to be worrying about my kids and my job, not my Microsoft account. I have no idea if I can log into my Microsoft account later. I have no idea if I can play Minecraft with my kid. I have no idea if my wife or kids accounts are flagged. I’m worried I fucked her account too. If I had to do it all over, I’d give my friends 25 bucks on Venmo and tell them to get it themselves, then set up non-family accounts for my kids. I just wanted to play Minecraft with my kids and I don't even know how to do that now :( tl;dr: Do not gift Minecraft from Microsoft directly. Send anyone you want to have Minecraft 25 bucks then tell them to buy it themselves, or get them a code from a reputable third party. Do not set up family sharing. Set up individual accounts, and MOST DEFINITELY lie and make your kids 18. Quick update: In the end, I got my daughter a code from Amazon. She's mysteriously 18 now - time goes by fast! My own account's probably all kinds of f'd, but everyone else is happy, and that's good enough for now. Update 2: I finally figured out how to log back into my account. I was in a loop where I saw the "Your account has been unblocked" screen with a continue button. For whatever reason, clicking "continue" sent me BACK into the "Your account is locked screen. I was able to just leave the page altogether before clicking continue, then go directly to Microsoft family login. Looks like it was a bug. In June 2025 i got an email on another account that my osrs gmail for my jagex account has been deleted due to violation. I made that gmail specifically for osrs and never logged into it because i figured that would make it more secure. Well Google deletes inactive accounts and I was inactive from osrs for 2 years after maxing. Come back and I dont really login to the osrs emails. Now I've had the same password on this jagex account since I made it. Well trying to work with support and moving irl recently they themselves believe that I am suspicious. So they locked it and gave me the same AI generic response over and over. GOOGLE DOES NOT ALLOW DELETED ACCOUNTS BACK. Three months ago, I thought I'd found the cheat code. AI writes the code. I review it. Ship fast. Print money. I burned through $4,000 in API costs building what looked like a functioning SaaS product. Clean UI. Features worked. I could demo it to my mom and she'd think I was a genius. Then I tried to onboard my first real user. The "it works on my machine" nightmare: Login worked for me. Failed for anyone with a Gmail OAuth account created before 2023 (some edge case with token refresh I never tested) File uploads capped at 5MB because I never configured the actual server limits, just the frontend validation The database migration I ran locally 47 times? Completely broke on the production instance because of timezone handling Password reset emails went to spam for 80% of domains (no SPF/DKIM records) The search feature I was most proud of? I just did this to Capital One because their login system is abysmal and you have to sign in to talk to customer service. I emailed 743 people, including their CEO, and called them dicks, but that's what you get when you use customer service as a barrier to the public. Back in my day (yep), you got a game for Christmas, you opened the box, you installed it from the physical media in the box, and you played it. 3 steps, roughly, if my counting fingers are still good in my advancing years. In 2024, you get a PC game for Christmas, and this is what happens: Santa purchases a digital license for a game. Child receives game and installs it. Parent leaves, thinking child will be happy with their new game. Child opens the game, is greeted with a message that they need a Sony account (in addition to their age-appropriate Steam account, which is in addition to their age-appropriate Google account needed to have an email address and their age-appropriate Microsoft account to have access to Windows). Child calls for parent that they need a Sony account. Parent clicks through "child account creation" page, which requires an adult account to provision. Parent forgets their adult Sony login information (we're on a PC, not a PS5), has to look up their credentials, which are locked behind MFA on their phone. Parent must satisfy Sony MFA via emailed auth code. Parent signs in -- must re-auth email for the adult account (despite MFA already using said email). Parent signs up for child account. Parent must verify child email by signing into child Gmail account. Parent must provide payment info to demonstrate that they are an adult. $0.50 must be charged to their adult-shaped credit card. My credit card was hacked. I think the guy did it by hacking my gmail account. Because he signed up for Priceline, with the login with gmail button. I called my bank and canceled it. I logged into Priceline to see if I could get any information about the person who booked the flight. I saw I could cancel it for no charge. So I did because it was going to be faster to get a refund from Priceline than my bank. Two days later I got this email. It had his photo and phone number. We have been married for almost two years and we’ve been together for four and a half years. We are in a monogamous relationship and have both had several partners prior to our relationship. Every year, my wife goes on a long business trip (typically about two months). During this time, communication over phone and email can be difficult, contingent upon the technological issues where she works. She really enjoys her work during the business trips and usually comes home feeling fulfilled and excited about life. Normally when she comes home, she takes a day or two to rest and overcome the jetlag (28 hour travel time and 21 hour time difference). The following days, we tend spend lots of time together, sex, dates, cuddling, catching up etc. because she’s been gone so long. My partner (F/36/Accountant) and I (M/44/Software Dev) landed in Sydney a couple of days ago, back from a 10 day holiday in Fiji. Due to bad weather conditions, our return flight was delayed by 30 hours, so we ended up spending 30 hours in Nadi airport waiting to come home. We finally landed in Sydney late in the evening and gee wasn't it wonderful to be home! After going through the immigration check we waited at the carousel for our suitcase, dreaming of the soft bed we would soon be lying in (we only managed a few hours sleep during the long wait in Nadi airport, so we were both extremely exhausted when we landed). Once we grabbed our suitcase, we headed toward the exit and handed our arrival cards to the customs officer, and this is where things began to go pear shaped. The customs lady said "I need you to follow me", and we were led away to the bag inspection area (straight out of a scene in one of those border protection reality shows). When we arrived at the bag inspection area, we were asked to empty our pockets so we did this (including our phones). She then asked the standard stuff - did you pack your bags, are you aware of the contents etc. Then she said "you are required to provide the passcodes for your mobile phones". Normally I would have argued at this point, but we were so tired, it was easier just to comply. So we recited our passcodes and she wrote them on a piece of paper. She then summoned another officer who came over and took our phones away, out of sight, to another room. Presumably they hooked them up to some kind of machine to inspect them. They then proceeded to search our bags, but it seemed very cursory. They did not pull all the contents out of our backbacks (if we had a kilo of heroin in the bottom of one of our backpacks, they wouldn't have found it). They just seemed to be very keen to inspect/scan our phones. They were not even interested in our laptops (which we both had in case we got stranded in Fiji), which they just set aside while they searched through our suitcase. Once she finished the half-assed inspection of our bags, we then had to sit waiting for our phones to be returned. After about 30 mins, they finally came back, handed our phones to us and said we were OK to leave. Needless to say, the whole experience was extremely traumatic for both of us (but especially my partner). I understand that customs need to have the ability to search peoples phones in certain circumstances, but this is an absolute abuse of that power. I would never expect that kind of treatment returning to my home country after a trip abroad. I have racked my brain trying to figure out why we were singled out. We are both Australian Citizens with no criminal records, no associations with any criminals/religious groups/gangs/political groups. We are just a normal couple who wanted a romantic getaway from all the covid chaos in Sydney. The only unusual thing we ticked on the arrival form was the "yes" box for the question about being in contact with farm animals or wilderness areas. The major problem I have with this is the massive violation of our privacy and the lack of transparency in the process. What exactly did they take from my phone? Could be any/all of the following: Photos going back for many years My entire Gmail history going back 15 odd years (and any other associated google services - calendar apointments, keep notes, google drive files) My work emails/calendar Saved logins/passwords for various websites (including bank account and other financial logins) Every Whatsapp/SMS conversation I have ever had Contact list Potentially they could even have rooted the phone or installed spyware (probably a bit far fetched in the 30 min window, but not impossible) And what happens to this data? How is is stored? Who has access to it? Is it shared with any other government organisations? Is there a retention policy, or does it live in their system forever? I also think that if they are to inspect your phone, it should be done in front of you, the same way they have to inspect your bags in front of you. The fact they perform the inspection behind closed doors, leaves open the possibility of all sorts of abuses of power. They could add/modify things on your phone and you would have no way of countering that. It turns out Australian Border Force are allowed to arbitrarily exercise this power without any kind of oversight and there is no reporting of actual numbers of how many of these invasive searched are conducted. This experience makes me hesitant to ever go overseas again, however if I do, I will back everything up to the cloud before I take off, and then factory reset my phone on the return flight. I am going to write a letter to my federal member about this experience - this is not the kind of thing that should be allowed to happen in a free and democratic country. There needs to be way more transparency in this process and ABF should not have arbitrary power to delve into the innermost private lives that our mobile phones now contain without reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing (especially in the case of returning Australian Citizens). Between eight and ten years ago I received an email welcoming me to Netflix. That was a bit concerning since I hadn't signed up so I contacted the company. They told me someone must have accidentally used my email when they created an account. Our last names were the same and our first initial. I said Oh no problem, you must have additional contact information for them besides my email, could you please remove my email from the account and let them know so they can fix? Well, immediately that was a big problem for Netflix and well, no they couldn't remove the email because it was the only one they had for the account and how did they even know that it was mine? I said give me your email address and start talking, I will email you the words as they come out of your mouth. That wasn't good enough for proof somehow. More likely I was in the other person's Gmail account asking to not have Netflix? What they finally ended up doing was changing the account password so that when the customer went to log back in they wouldn't be able to and would need to do a password reset by calling Netflix and then they would confirm the email address. I kept getting Netflix emails so that didn't work - I called again, same again - didn't work. I changed the password several times myself because I could use the forgot password function and get an email to reset it, that didn't work. I don't know how they kept getting the new password without updating an email address and I didn't really care at this point. For the last eight to ten years I have had Netflix on everything thing I own. I have signed in on hotel televisions, used it on my phone, my XBOXs; My kid uses it. I only ever signed in under "Family" and told him to do the same. The entire history in "Family" is us. The other logins, "Fred", "Softee", and "Lylla" accumulated history. I would occasionally look because, curious. Never did a single new show appear in the "Family" watch history that wasn't because of me. Well, I woke up this morning to an email from Netflix telling me that this email address was no longer associated with that account and if I had any questions etc. Thank you Softee! It has been an amazing run and I am not sure why you gave me free Netflix for the last decade but I think you are amazing! ​ Tldr: I asked Netflix to remove my email address from an account that was not mine that I did not pay for, they would not because they needed to have an email associated with an account.
