Top reasons why this topic is getting popular

1. Texture Enhancement

Gums are used to improve the texture of food and beverages, making them thicker, creamier, or more stable. This is particularly important in products like ice cream, yogurt, and salad dressings.

2. Gluten-Free Alternative

Gums are often used as a gluten-free alternative to wheat flour in baked goods. They can provide the necessary structure and texture without the use of gluten.

3. Vegan-Friendly

Many gums are derived from plant sources, making them a vegan-friendly ingredient. This is important for consumers who are looking for plant-based alternatives to animal products.

4. Increased Shelf Life

Gums can help extend the shelf life of food and beverages by preventing separation, crystallization, and other forms of degradation. This is particularly important in products that are sold in bulk or have a long shelf life.

5. Clean Label Trend

As consumers become more interested in clean label products, gums are becoming a popular alternative to artificial additives and preservatives. They are seen as a more natural and transparent ingredient.

@clecaplain, hmm this did cross my mind but I haven’t noticed anything yet. She’s always been a drool baby and no raised gums. But I guess it could be?
