My 1-year long gym crush liked me on hinge: UPDATE
Dinner form the other night because no appetite because I am sick: 24-hour pork ragu (by my friends) with homemade linguine (by yours truly) for 3 because my support system is elite. Guys I’m sorry for the delay, I was honestly tossing up whether to post this or not for fear of being accused of karma farming and I can’t edit the original post, nor do I know how to pin a comment and perhaps someone can enlighten rather than tear me down. I want to keep things very vague because he deserves privacy, so probably no juicy detail beyond we had fun, we might meet again, but limerence is an invisible hand that can greatly mislead. Someone commented that I needed to stop idolising this man and that I was “in danger”. I’m glad to report I was absolutely not. He is very polite, but I believe at our cores we are very different people, and I’m not one to embrace “opposites attract”, personally. I’m in a chapter of my life where I’d like for things to fit with ease and I’m not convinced this is the case here. But everyone deserves a second chance. To all the men who called me a slut and berated me for only caring about looks: I hope this proves you wrong. To all the people who told me I had a whole year to shoot my shot and why did I wait when I could’ve taken action: you’re actually right. I hope to be braver from this point going forward. And most importantly of course, to all the support I got, which was entirely unexpected, thank you 🩷 I do not want this underwhelming update to deter the romantics out there. I believe my Big Love is out there, and I’m bloody 30! Everything that must be will be. And good luck to all the muscle mommies out there! I loved reading your personal stories of connecting with your gym crush, getting married, and living a full life together. May love like that find us all. submitted by /u/habitual_citizen to r/GirlDinnerDiaries [link] [comments]

Attracting only fit men, how do I get over my insecurities as a former fat girl?
For context: I’ve lost 25 kg/50 lbs, and am about 10 lbs overweight. I have about 20 lbs left, and goal is to get fit. Used to hit the gym 5x a week, stalled after a big surgery, but been going back recently. I visibly still look chubby/overweight due to being short. What I’ve noticed is that I keep attracting men who are fit/gym bros on dating apps and irl (outside of gym). And no, not only for hookups. I don’t even do hookups, so it wouldn’t work anyways. The guy that I’m currently seeing is fit, and lives a very healthy lifestyle obviously. He takes it extremely seriously. I’m on the same page, but I’m definitely nowhere fit yet. He’s aware of my ongoing weight-loss. I just keep questioning in my mind why he doesn’t just go for fit girls already, despite him reassuring me that he truly fancies me? How do I get over this mindset? Any overweight/former overweight girls who have the same thing going on and are insecure about it? Doesn’t help that I have loose skin and lots of stretch marks on top of my fat due to being obese before. I truly believe that I would feel less insecure if he wasn’t fit, as awful as it sounds, but I mainly just attract these types. submitted by /u/Wise_Parmaria to r/loseit [link] [comments]

why do short gym shorts on men trigger mixed reactions in Indian gym?
i started wearing running shorts for gym since past few months (since summer started) because they are i) practical, ii) because i am sweat machine during workout if i wear polyester full pants and iii) the shorts shorts and tee offer better comfort and movement. They also help me check form properly during lower body exercises like leg press, squats, lunges, hip thrusts, etc... … but I've noticed the people's perception (online as well as in the gym) is very mixed. Some people see it as normal fitness wear. Some think it looks too revealing... several times i have received weird/thirsty DMs for the pics attached here…which makes the whole thing even more confusing 💀 on where to draw the line? … starting this thread to get an honest Indian perspective: are short shorts on men actually inappropriate in a gym setting or are we just not used to seeing men wear them confidently? Where do you draw the line between normal gym wear and "too much"? submitted by /u/SKP_says to r/AskFitnessIndia [link] [comments]

WTF Is happening? Where are all the normal men?!
OMG I am living a nightmare! Female.. very fit and been told that I'm very attractive (not to be conceited or anything.. just to give a bit of background)..recently back in the dating scene.. recently as in 9 months, yet still I haven't met one normal guy!!!! Dating apps are filled with "self employed/CEO at Self/ entrepreneurs" aka don't have a job and live with their parents.. their alleged goals: " wanna grow my business and generate passive income"... which ..newsflash!! you need to have a business in order to grow one! 38+ YO yet still "figuring out their dating goals/ looking for short term fun/ ENM/ Poly" ... after matching with someone.. they never message! Or just send the initial "hi" .. then ghost town! If it goes past hi.. the crazy starts to come out. Dating apps have been awful... TRULY! They make me feel like real men, traditional, chivalrous, hard working, NORMAL men are extinct!!!! IRL.. just met a guy while playing volleyball who seemed normal at first and after googling his name.. found out he's a felon and his story and picture is on multiple websites for doing something AWFUL!!! At work, no way in hell.. it's a highly professional workplace, and anyone who's mildly normal is married. I work in office daily very long hours so leaves almost no room for a social life.. At the gym .. only approached by either people waaaay too young so inexperienced in how to even talk to women, or waaaaay too old so don't give an F because they have nothing to lose! Seriously, WTF is happening?? submitted by /u/Odd_Variation_1514 to r/Vent [link] [comments]

Gym equipment is made for men
Gym equipment is made for men and my gym is trying to gaslight me about it. My gym recently got bought up by a chain and they switched all the machines to a new brand (gym80). Some machined are better than the old ones and some are very much not. Especially frustrating is the new hip thrust machine (search for gym80 4352 (edit: 4386) Pure Kraft Booty Booster special- I tried posting a screenshot but my previous post got removed because of that. Edit: The link is in the comments. There is a similarly named one with a foot rest. That is not the one I am talking about). It is a hip thrust machine, where instead of having a foot rest an a shoulder rest you have a knee rest and a shoulder rest. The knee pads can‘t be brought down enough for my height so the angle is off. The distance between the shoulder/back-pad and the knee pads is also too big. I can’t bend my knees around the knee pad and reach the shoulder pad properly at the same time. Yes I‘m short (158 cm or 5’2), but that‘s not an unheard of height for a woman. Also I‘d guess you‘d have to be at least 10 cm taller to use the machine comfortably. So a lot of women will have issues (anecdotal evidence but judging from how much less popular the machine is compared to the old one, I think many women do have issues with it). Ironically the machine is in the ladies only area of the gym. (I have other gripes with this machine. Who thought it‘d be a good idea to rest the entire bodyweight plus added weights on the inside of the knees where tendons run. But maybe this is less of a problem if people can fit in the machine properly) On the day I tried the machine I asked someone who works at the gym to help me, but they couldn’t. They agreed that the pads can‘t be adjusted to my height properly. After the workout I messaged the gym‘s instagram account to complain (I didn’t rant, just let them know) about the machine and get this, the problem is solved: the machine can be used by short people, too. Or at least that‘s what they told me after a short back and forth where I explained the problem and they replied that it can be difficult to get used to new equipment and that‘s why they have lovely staff to help out. I then told them that I had in fact asked someone to help but they couldn’t help me because I‘m too short for the machine. That‘s when they whipped out the line: the machine is for short people too. Great, I‘m glad the problem is solved. It‘s all in my head. Edited for clarity. submitted by /u/Happiestsunday to r/TwoXChromosomes [link] [comments]

I’m tired of creepy men at the gym
EDIT: I am sooooo appreciative of everyone's nice words!! It was super motivating to hear all of your stories and how you chose to overcome them. I won't let this get me down. I'll be sure to stand up for myself and report any creepy interactions to staff to help keep other women at the gym safe. Warning long rant ahead. Cheese pizza. I work out at my local planet fitness and I have never had too many issues. My biggest complaint about the gym are the men. Which I’m sure many women on here can agree with. I have dealt with men who have staring problems, men who give me unsolicited advice, and men who try to talk to me in the middle of my workouts. I am still quite new to the gym scene and have been going since last January so the amount of creepy interactions I have had since starting is quite baffling to me. Today was the worst encounter I have ever had. I was working out on one machine and there were two men working out together and taking turns on the machine behind me. I have seen the two of them together at the gym multiple times. They are older, at least in their 50s, and are quite jacked. I finished my workout on the machine and went to the sanitation area to get the stuff I need to clean my machine. On my way back one of the men stop me and asks for my name while introducing himself and his friend, extending his hand for a handshake. I reciprocate the action and give him my name without much thought. He then tells me he and his buddy have seen me at the gym a few times now. I acknowledge that I have see them before too. He proceeds to tell me that I have an amazing shape and he can tell that I workout a lot. He proceeds to compliment my body a few more times. I awkwardly say thank you as I am kind of frozen and have never really dealt with a situation like this before. He proceeds to ask how old I am. At this point I should’ve left, but I couldn’t bring myself to. I tell him my age and he acts shocked and what he said is what really disgusted me. He goes “my friend thought you were 18. You look great for your age.” This made me realize the two of them were talking about me sitting directly behind me while I was working out. I tried to move on to the stair master but I caught them looking at me from time to time so I didn’t stay for much longer. I am on the autism spectrum and it takes a while for me to fully process the situation, understand the impact of it, and asses how I felt about it. A few hours after I got home I burst into tears because I felt so disgusted with myself and how they made me feel about my body. I have been crying on and off since. I have never felt this kind of gross feeling before. I am quite scared to go back since I see the two of them there frequently enough. I’m even considering switching gyms but I’m aware no matter where I go there will be men that make me uncomfortable and it sucks. I want to be able to exist in my body without being stared at and making me feel self conscious. submitted by /u/Waste-Cockroach8284 to r/GirlDinnerDiaries [link] [comments]

How to get men to stop giving input at the gym?
Hello everyone! I’ve been going to the gym for well over a year now, I completely know what I’m doing and I never take any advice from people who randomly approach me to tell me what to do. I appreciate when people who have the same fitness goals do it because they actually know what they’re talking about, but men all of the time come up to me and suggest I do something different? It’s really annoying! Any advice to stop this from happening? Thanks a ton!! Edit: Guys!! I don’t hate men and I have a partner who is a man!! The post was worded a little weirdly, I just meant people who have the same fitness goals as me, which usually aren’t the men who approach me! Please stop saying I’m a misandrist!!! Edit 2: Thank you all so much for all of your great advice! I’m going to the gym today so I’m going to try all of your amazing suggestions!! I have very low self esteem so I won’t be reading any more comments on the post to avoid effecting my mental health but I truly appreciate all of the positive comments!! xx submitted by /u/Best_Profession_6516 to r/Advice [link] [comments]

Old men at the gym keep telling me my weightsetting is too heavy
I go to a gym that has e-gym machines, meaning every machine automatically adjusts to your build and strength when you hold your bracelet against it. The e-gym has different programs you can pick for different goals. So for example I am doing muscle building right now, which is a program of 4x 6 workouts. Right now the set of 6 workouts is adaptive; it is 10 repetitions, starts at a high weight, and automatically lowers if you fail. The next 6 workouts will likely be something like 20 repetitions at a lower weight, and then the next 6 are something different again. The e-gym is mostly frequented by older people, as in 60+. I get that, it is easy, you don't have to adjust anything, and the machines make your program based on a strength test. Exactly the reason why I use the e-gym too: I have never fitnessed before and it's super easy to start with e-gym. So nothing against the older people. HOWEVER. I have had two men, both 60+, come up to me to tell me that my weight setting was too heavy and that I should do more repetitions at a lower weight. Even when I explain the adaptive training, they interrupt me and tell me again that this isn't good for me... THE MACHINE SETS MY WEIGHTS. THE MACHINE HAS A BUILD-IN PROGRAM. YOU KNOW THIS SINCE YOU TRAIN HERE TOO. I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WORKOUTS BUT I DON'T THINK YOU KNOW EITHER?? Why are men like this??? I just want to workout in peace and I hate it when this happens because I keep feeling like I am doing something wrong or I don't belong in the e-gym. But the personal trainer behind the bar keeps telling me that the program is accurate and I can also tell by muscle gain that it works. (Sidenote: I also have almost no knee pain anymore, even when I run! :) ) submitted by /u/Elli_vD to r/EntitledPeople [link] [comments]

Men who gym with their gf/wives - do you care how she dresses?
Context: My boyfriend is switching to my gym soon. I usually show up looking like I crawled out of bed and into his clothes—his tees, big joggers…zero effort lol But now I’m wondering if I should match the energy of the other girls at the gym—shorts, cute tops, coordinated fits. Not because I think he’d look elsewhere, just because I kind of want him to look at me like that again in a new setting. Also I don’t wanna make him the guy with the lazily dressed gf. But I’m curious to know what y’all think. Edit: My bf doesn’t care what I wear as long as I’m comfortable. Why do fat women who don't exercise try to date fit men?
Let's explore the reverse scenario first. A man is fat, doesn't workout and wants to date a playboy bunny. The fact is that this scenario does exist. And I can understand a few reasons for why it would exist: The man uses wealth. The man uses status. The woman desires a "bear" to protect her. The woman wants to be the center of attention and this guarantees it. So there are many valid reasons for why a fat man who doesn't exercise can take a swing at it and still "win" even if his odds are low and context specific. None of the above examples apply to women. It makes no sense to me why a fat woman would take a swing at trying to date fit man. As an example I routinely see women hit on fit male friends on dating apps. Usually under their profile they write "I only go on walks" or "I don't exercise". And they're hitting on men who's profile is "The gym is my life." while sporting a 6 pack and usually showing a PR deadlifting video. I imagine the only reasons for this are: Fat women essentially need to use a spammer guy-approach to dating. Spam everyone since your rejection rate will be high. They assume that all men are desperate so date way outside of your league. Women genuinely think these men aren't outside of their league. What is the thinking behind a woman doing this? submitted by /u/giveuporfindaway to r/PurplePillDebate [link] [comments]

Would you prefer to go to a men-only gym? What would be your motivation for or against such segregation?
I've read an article about many Gen-Z people favoring gender segregation in gyms. https://www.newsweek.com/gen-z-want-segregated-gyms-1890676 But fitness studios are only opening female only gyms, this is supposed to be safer for women. There is no such thing yet as gyms only for men. I wonder, would it be profitable to open such a gym? Men can also feel safer and there will be less distractions. submitted by /u/WanabeInflatable to r/AskMen [link] [comments]

Unfit men can’t believe they’re not as fit as me
Rant: I've only been running for around 6 months, and in that time have lost three stone, and got pretty good at the running too. I've joined the local athletics club, training for a marathon, and have done a couple of races already. The most recent one; a 10k in 42 mins, and was the 2nd female out of over 170 women. I've had a few comments and behaviours from men that know me, that have irritated me. The latest one in context of this 10k race was "Wow, I don't even think I could do it that quick"....Coming from a man that doesn't do any exercise in any shape or form. Another one from a gym rat weight lifter that does no cardio at all. Him to me: "I'm going run half marathon distance today". Me: "You can't really just run a half marathon without doing any running". Him: "I'll show you". Goes out and does 11k, gets injured and needs a lift home. It's like they almost can't believe that they're not as fit as me. It feels like a complete disregard for the work that I'm putting in. It seems a woman who's trained for six months is still expected to be inferior to a flabby untrained man. submitted by /u/mrspillins to r/TwoXChromosomes [link] [comments]

Are men facing unrealistic body standards, or should fat people just hit the gym? r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers debates
During an interview between Mahershala Ali and Stephen Colbert, Mahershala mentioned hitting the gym in preparation for his role as Blade. It really creates an unrealistic body expectation that can lead to disastrous consequences. Kumail is a prime example of this, which is ironic, because the character of Kingo didn't even need to be buff. His powers were entirely CGI." - https://www.reddit.com/r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers/comments/r82mcv/comment/hn38ov1/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 The comment was controversial, with one comment stating: "What unrealistic expectations 😂 go hit the gym bro❤️take some cuban sugar water if you are not seeing the results. Working out should never be criticized, and they have top level trainers and their PED cycle is well monitored to the point they probably won't face any consequences" In response: "Oh don't be obtuse. I congratulate anyone who decides to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle. I don't have an issue with any adult making decisions for their body. What I do have a problem with is the steroid use that goes on in Marvel productions. It's an open secret in Hollywood. Steroid use should never be in a conversation surrounding body positivity. The disastrous consequences I'm referring to is impressionable young men who watch these movies and feel ashamed of their own bodies. Body dysmorphia and eating disorders are rising amongst teen boys, and this isn't helping." https://people.com/health/eating-disorders-surge-in-boys-and-young-men-what-parents-need-to-know/ In response to the rebuttal: Okay but shouldn’t your complaint be with marvel comics (or any comics really). All of their depictions of heroes are ridiculously over the top super chiseled and muscled dudes, of course actors for the MCU are gonna do unrealistic methods to reach such depictions. Blade is jacked in the comics, of course Ali is gonna change his body type for the part. Also to say that these actors are only getting these body types from steroids sounds ignorant. Hollywood has specific fitness instructors whose sole job is to get people into a certain type of body shape, there have been multiple videos done with these coaches, even one where the interviewers do the workout for a only month and see drastic changes. Drama is still ongoing. submitted by /u/gotellauntrhodie to r/SubredditDrama [link] [comments]

Women aren't attracted to dad-bods. Women are unattracted to the expectations of fit men.
I have numerous times seen women try to use the social media hype of "dad bods" as an example of women having lower beauty standards for men. I think it's bull and here's why. You don't become fit by nature, a man is fit due to his unrelenting sacrifice, dedication and discipline to nutrition and working out. Which is one of the reasons fitness corresponds to education and earnings. With that said, a man who's eating raw broccoli, boiled chicken and working out 3 hours a day isn't accepting you sitting around on Instagram all day getting fat. Women aren't attracted to a body that isn't fit, they're turned off by the reality that a man who is fit has high SMV and will have the same expectation for her that he does himself. A woman saying they want a dad bod is a woman saying they want a man who's not going to judge them for gaining weight while not doing anything about it. And they are saying they don't want to have to compete with other women for her man's attention. Years ago I was very into body building and would force my pudgy roommate to work out. His gf said she didn't like muscular men. After taking him to the gym, his gf inadvertently grabbed his arm which was pumped at the time and got so aroused at what she felt that she let out a "damn" mis sentences and damn there created a puddle in my chair. We laughed and reminded her she said she didn't like muscular men, and admitted she said that because she didn't want her man to start expecting her to be fit. Non fit women want fit men but would rather deal with a dad-bod and a low bar for herself. All of it is social media postering. submitted by /u/Robotemist to r/PurplePillDebate [link] [comments]

Parents demand I quit my gym membership because my older brother and dad aren't as fit as they used to be
Hey everybody! It's been a few weeks since I posted my first crazy family story sonow's as godo time as any as to share another one. Some backstory, my two brothers have always been naturally skinny and maintained an active lifestyle throughout most of their life. Me (31M) on the other hand was born on the pudgier side and never really had an interest in sports other than swimming but didn't get (nor want at the time) to work on that hobby. By the time I was in the army (service is mandatory where I live) I was quite heavy at 246 pounds. While I was never teased about my weight, my family and especially my mother enjoyed poking fun at it, my eating habits and so on, mom rolling her eyes whenever someone commented I've lost weight and so on. Since she was (and still is) quite the blob herself, I just ignored her or commented as such. But, being stationed in a far-away base where combat unites where also serving at, most of the guys in my base where quite fit. Me, on the other hand wasn't assigned a combative role due to a medical condition. No, it didn't have to do anything about weight but a very minor birth defect that I was rid of by the time I was 12 but the army is stupid like that so they "didn't want to take any chances to put me in harms way." So, instead of putting me in a combative role they decided to have me on the oh so safe field of heavy duty machinery. GENIUS. Anyways, again most of the men serving in my unit were very fit and very muscular and while I was never jealous at them nor teased for being fat, one day I jsut took a good look in the mirror and was like "Hmmmm. I can do better." And so I decided to start and change things; I'd watch very carefully what I ate, drank mostly water, joined the boys on their evening jogs, convince my sergeant friend to get me an access to their gym and have him train me in Krav-Maga a few times a week if he was able to. I kept on to what I was doing and was very strict at keeping at it until I've reached my target weight and soon enough I had to pay a visit to the quartermaster's and get a smaller sized uniform. After a year and a half of regular exercise, weight lifting and a healthy diet I lost a lot of weight (a few pounds shy of the target) and built quite a lot of muscle mass. In all honesty, it was my sergeant friend who convinced me to visit (officially it was exclusive to the combat unit but in reality it was available for everyone on base) their gym and encouraged me to lose weight. Man, am I glad I listened. While I was very proud at the progress I've met, my family, who have teased me about my big fat ass for most of my life, weren't as happy as I was but said nothing. The teasing has stopped but there wasn't much beyond that. Other than a semi compliment like "Did you take this shirt from one of your brothers?" whenever I wore something that actually fit me or "Why are you still wearing this huge thing?" if I kept clothing from the time I was bigger. I still got comments during meals if I took an extra scoop but whatever, I didn't care, I didn't lose weight to get compliments..........ok. maybe I did but just a little bit LOL Moving on, by the time I turned 22, I was back into civilian life as well as working myself through university and also a part time job. Also, during that time I have saved enough to afford a membership at a gym close to campus. They were on the more pricy side but that's due for the location being more high end. While I was being the healthiest and most physically fit I've ever been my entire life, my older brother wasn't faring as much. He had stopped jogging, his smoking got worse and was getting chubbier every day. He's still not obese by any chance but he's not nearly as fit as he used to be (and he's only in his late 30s). It only got worse on family gatherings, especially weddings where a lot of distant relatives and those we don't to meet often would also be present. Also, I'm a massive introvert so fully packed events are not my thing so I'd often avoid those and barely even met with my extended family during my service. So you can imagine some of my relatives shock seeing me over a hundred lighter, some didn't even recognize me. I guess my brother got some comments from people because he'd no longer look smug whenver he looked at me. About 8 months in into my membership there, my mom sat me down (I was still living at home) and the coversation went as follows: Me = Me | BM = The womb I came out of | OB: Older Bollox Me: What's up? Is everything ok? BM: Everything is fine honey but I just wanted to talk to you about something. Me: Ok...(I already had a bad feeling, these conversations always seemed to be about me doing something wrong). BM: Well, you know your father and I are very proud at how far you've come, you're looking very handsome. Me: Thanks mom =) (a very rare compliment) BM: But, me and dad are little worried. With all the expenses we have along with your tuition and not your gym membership, we're gettign a little tight. Can you cancel your membership please? We can no longer afford it. ME: (thinking, ok, here we go): Uh, mom you guys don't pay for my gym membership. i do. BM: And who gave you that money? Me: It's money I've saved from birthdays, allowance (from way back when) and work. Also, I'm on a scolarship so you do know you guys aren't paying for school either right? BM: (getting furastrated) Well, you can't go to your gym anymore. Me: And why is that? BM: Because we (she and dad) think your OB should use it instead. He really wants to go to that gym but he can't afford it. It really depresses him, don't you think it's mean of you to keep going there while he cannot? Me: Mom, be real, OB makes twice the money I make so he can afford a gym mebership on his own. That said, the gym isn't located anywhere near his apartment. BM: That doesn't matter. We decided that you can't go anymore, it's not fair towards OB. You're going to cancel your membership and that's final. Me: No. BM: Well, I will be giving them a call son and cancel it for you (impossible unless she can imitate my voice and had my credit card). Stop being selfish and be more fair towards your brother! Me: Right. BM: Why can't you just do this one thing for your brother? It's bad enough he stopped he quit jogging, now he's smoking and you're not helping with what you're doing! Come on (my name)! Be more considerate! Also, think about your father. Me: Dad has a problem with me working out too? BM: You know how can barely move with his bad back! Me: Mom, dad can move just fine. Just yesterday I helped him clear out the garage. (He had his own gym membership which he had to quit only recently due to covid) BM: You're not being faire (my name)! Me: (holding onto my last nerve) Mom, I'm not going to stop working out because some 30+ man baby hates seeing me getting healthier while he tries tucking in his beer gut. If my looser jeans affect OB so much, he can get up and do something about. Funny, how you've never said anything to either of (my brothers) to tone it down while I was fat. BM: How dare you say that about your brother? At that point I just got up and went on my business while she sulked and gave me the cold shoulder for the rest of the day. However, during meal times she'd try to get me to eat (alot more) more or cook very fatty things, buy only sugar packed drinks, bring up fast food places whenever we went eating out and then get mad at me whenever I said that McDonalds is not a restaurant. Whatever she tried to do didn't work and I soon began buying my type of soft drinks myself or just drink more wqater if I drank anythign that wasn't either sugar free or diet. Now, even though my dad supported OB, he didn't say much and I have no idea why she even brought him up. Anyways, that's my tale. I've lived with them for 4 more years until I've saved enough to move out in 2015. After that some things have happened that lead me to cut all contact with the 3 of them. Stay safe out there! submitted by /u/Pnapple_Upsdwn_cake to r/EntitledPeople [link] [comments]

For those looking for ways to improve fitness outside the gym -- Thanks to the USAF SERE program
A few months ago when I was trying to join the Air Force before getting denied due to my asthma history, I was following this program.pdf?ver=2017-04-25-120742-077) designed to prepare those looking to attempt to join the SERE specialist team. Keep in mind, this was developed to prepare future air men for the rigors of an elite military team and should be treated with caution if you are attempting a new exercise as risk of injury is very high especially with the ruck. Figured some of y'all might get a kick out of this as it's a good way to build strength and endurance outside of the gym along with some good abdominal workouts. Edit: Formatting didn't like the parenthesis in the URL. Here is the link to the PDF: https://www.gosere.af.mil/Portals/16/documents/PT%20references/SST-OC%20PT%20Guide_CAO%20(041117).pdf?ver=2017-04-25-120742-077 Edit 2: It should be noted this is not a program like Couch to 5k where you can start from scratch to develop your fitness. This is a crash course designed for those already in the military looking to cross train into special forces or those special souls that want to jump right in to the fire from civilian life. You must have a base line already to take advantage of the workouts in here submitted by /u/syke-adelix to r/Fitness [link] [comments]
