My daughter has similar, we now use conditioner during bath time and a detangler spray for extra moisture. When wet you can see more curl pattern, but since the hair is so fine it gets easily brushed out. As her hair comes in thicker it's holding on to the texture as it dries.

My hair has absolutely zero natural body and I've been using the same texture spray for like 3 years, finally ran out and now I'm realizing I have no idea what else is out there or if what I was using was even good. The thing I keep seeing is that a lot of sprays are aimed at people with medium or thick hair who just want beachy waves and that's not really my problem. I need something that actually adds some grip and volume at the root without making my hair look stringy or weighed down. Any time I've tried heavier ones it just looks greasy by noon. My hair is really fine and pretty low density so I feel like I have to be careful. Has anyone with similar hair actually found something that works, like genuinely works and not just "adds texture" in the way that means nothing for fine hair? Got this for ₱85 lang sa clock app! Nabudol ako ni Joize bc she said she stopped using hairspray ever since, so I had to try it for myself. And it’s true! First pic: 8AM Second pic: 4 PM Just took the second photo rn with the curls still intact. The texture is basically like baby powder, except it stiffens the area of application. After using my Hodekt curler, I just dabbed this on the inner parts of my hair or wherever I want the curls to stay. This is also great for volume! Just put some on your scalp for that 90s blowout effect haha. You don’t need much naman. Disclaimer: I only stayed inside the office the whole time, so I haven’t checked if this is commute-proof. I have fine, flat, super straight hair. The bad news is my hair has no body or volume. The good news is that I have lots of it. One thing I've noticed over the years is that hair stylists and people in general seem to oppose hairspray. Meanwhile, my reality is that I have to use it or my hair is a disaster I've used a variety of hair tools and techniques. I've also used a variety of products including mousse, texture sprays, dry shampoo, root lifters, and powders (not all at once). Given the right combination of products, techniques, and tools, I can achieve volume, body, and some style. The reality is that without hairspray, my hair will look picture-perfect for 15 minutes. If not exposed to any elements like wind or humidity, it can maybe look decent for 30 minutes. Then it's a mess. Not a cool, sexy, tousled mess. A toddler with baby-duck hair just getting up from a nap mess. Without hairspray, my hair will almost immediately lose any volume, body, curl, or shape from a round brush or flat iron. So, I don't get why my hairdressers always chastise me for using hairspray. I understand too much hairspray both looks bad and works against you by weighing hair down. I get that it's preferable to use high-end products. I love Davines, but I have more of a Treseme budget. I know you need to use a clarifying shampoo to deal with build-up. Still, I always get told by friends or stylists to not use hairspray. I always do and I don't think they get how I would look if I didn't. My daughter has beautiful curly hair. I have to keep her hair tied up in a bun because its the best way to keep knots from happening. She has a very sensitive scalp so brushing her hair is a very delicate process. Her dad has her 2 weekends a month and every time he has her he puts so much hair spray in her hair I can literally TASTE it as I'm trying to brush it out. If that's not bad enough, he applies so much that she chokes and coughs on it. (I'm not present when this happens, this is what my daughter has told me) He knows she has an inhaler, she hasn't had to use it for some time, but she got it when she had a persistent cough for 3 months. He cares so much about his "image" that it's effecting my daughter. He tells her she looks scruffy with her hair the way I do it. I put a clip in the top to keep the frizz down, but she has such beautiful hair, I only do it to keep it from blowing in her face, otherwise I'd just leave it. This isn't the first time this has happened. I have told him more than 6 times to not put product in her hair. He's BALD ffs!! What does he know about hair??? Telling me she has split ends! I said "Mate, your bald! You don't know what split ends look like!" I'm at the end of my rope now. He's obsession with looking neat and tidy is causing my daughter pain when I try and fix the mess he makes of her long hair.
