Important PL retentions are worth mentioning here. This week Colgate's PL ROY Andrew Alekseyenko announced that he's coming back for year 2 in Hamilton. (We all know what happened to last year's ROY). I'm sure Matt Langel is holding his breath on what Jalen Cox will do, although he's played three years so only one year left for him.

Hamilton must be now kicking himself that he eventually lost faith in Toto and Mercedes, if only that pesty Russell wasn't there. Hamilton may have got that elusive WDC that he probably deserves.

Crazy looking back at this happening in such a small community. Apparently Hamilton was being looked into after complaints about his inappropriate behaviour towards young boys and had been blacklisted by the scouts. His business was failing too due to these allegations he velieved. It probably all contributed to tip him over the edge and carry out the shooting.

Hamilton regrets I got this watch a few months ago and wanted it to be my everyday wear to work watch because I have an office/field job and I felt like it was a perfect blend for that. The more I wear other watches the less I enjoy this one. My main issue is the crystal is so freaking reflective. I have a hard time seeing the hands so often. Especially out in the sun. My other issue is when I really get to working with my hands the sharp points of the lugs start to dig into my wrist. It’s a beautiful watch that I’m hoping will become more enjoyable. They look great, the design of some of the field watches is timeless. But when I see they are only 5ATM and lack proper AR, uhmm.. makes me think they are not great value. The brand is great, Hamilton has great reputation and they invest a lot and wisely in marketing. But... are there better alternatives with better value? When Hamilton first came out, I was obsessed. Like fully, unapologetically in love with it. The music, the performances, the casting, it felt like something totally new and exciting. It made history feel cool. Revolutionary, even. But lately, I’ve been rethinking a lot of it… and the vibes are kinda off. At the end of the day, it’s a musical about a bunch of slave-owning founding fathers rapping, performed mostly by Black and brown actors on a stage that wasn’t even financially accessible to most of the people who created hip hop in the first place. Like, for a long time, you had to have serious money to even see it live, which already felt weird. And then there’s the content. I know Lin-Manuel was inspired by Hamilton being an immigrant from the Caribbean(which to be fair, I completely related to cause I’m an Haitian immigrant), but… Hamilton married into a slave-owning family. He handled slave transactions. And yet the musical kind of frames him as the woke founding father? Same with George Washington, we get this noble, fatherly version of him, but the man literally owned human beings. Even the Schuyler sisters get a feminist glow-up by erasing the fact that they had brothers, it makes the narrative tighter, but it’s still bending history to fit the vibe. The whole show feels like it’s smoothing over a lot to make these guys easier to root for. And I get it… it’s theater. It’s not supposed to be a documentary. But I think I’m just sitting with the fact that this musical let a lot of people feel good about America’s founding era without really interrogating how violent and racist that foundation actually was. It’s giving “we had a Black president so racism is over” energy. I still like the show. I still think it’s brilliant in so many ways, I’m not trying to tell people not to enjoy it. The music is terrible, the story could be good if it wasn't in a musical format, the characters make me hate them because of all the music that feels like it absolutely does NOT fit. It's not funny it's insufferable, and it frustrates me to no end just by hearing this things name. If you like it, fine, but do not sing anything from that god forsaken musical in front of me. Hello, On April 2019, I got a Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical 38mm for my 40th birthday. I wanted a watch similar to the Timex Expedition but of a high quality and it seemed perfect at first. But then things started to go wrong. The following summer, I went to freshen up in swimming pools 3 or 4 times. I mean regular 2 meter-deep pools that you find in camp sites. I'm no diver, just playing around in the pool with my kids. And I started to quickly observe condensation beneath the sapphire crystal glass. (View photo : https://i.imgur.com/yJt4kIS.jpg) I am not a watch expert but it seemed to me that a watch advertised as 5ATM - or 50 meters - waterproof would handle a swimming pool session. So I sent Hamilton an email explaining the problem. Here is what they replied : Dear Mr XXX, Thank you for your message and information. Please note that the condensation as shown on the picture is not mandatory an issue with the water resistance. Due to the high temperatures currently, it is more likely that air in the tightly sealed case has been shock by cold water or a cold room. Providing the condensation goes away after some hours and does not leave any traces, there is no issue. Of course we can check your watch in an official service center in order to make sure everything is in order. May we ask for a copy of the warranty card and information about your country of residence (address & phone). With this information we can inform your local customer care team. We remain at your disposal for further questions (View screenshot : https://i.imgur.com/4rCrGrp.png) Since it was a rather expansive present from my parents, I sent the watch back for revision, as suggested by the support team. After all, I had a two year warranty. They reviewed it and changed the water seal inside. The following summers, I experienced the same problem. But then I did not really pay attention to it as Hamilton clearly told me it was "normal" and they did review the waterproof system. Last month the crown broke up. I went through the process of sending my watch back. Changing the crown was listed for around 50€. But they came back to me with a quotation of more than 200€ explaining the whole system had oxidization inside. I told Hamilton I did not want them to repair the watch as it was too expansive (half the price of the watch in 2019 - 420€ back then. Now listed around 550€). They called me and basically told me that any 5ATM watch from any brand cannot handle a swimming pool session. One of the most popular field watch cannot be worn in a standard swimming pool ? Really ? Ok, fine, but then I feel I have been misled by the customer team as in their message they did, in some way, confirm that the watch was water proof. Not to mention that it came with a nylon NATO strap which led me to believe it was somehow more suited for water than a watch that comes with a leather strap. This is highly deceiving.
