Morphing sources is totally for funsies. "Prep leveling" is also pretty much pointless if you know how to manage your items and MP. Dungeons are mostly short so you can back out if you really need to to gain levels for some reason. For the couple of mildly tricky spots (TotA, Gaea's Cliffs bosses) they provide a healing spot so you can grind as much as you want.

I ran Seat 10 yesterday as a holy priest and it was just absolutely miserable. I started with my 2, and worked it up to a 10 and it was just crazy stressful. I made a macro to say “Please interrupt” [Target] to call out interrupts, I would type out strats before hand so I could drop them in chat before bosses, and would ping key things, and it was miserable. I felt like I was playing 5 peoples games, and the only feedback I had for my game was how much worse my game became if they weren’t playing. I started with just healing normally but with each trash pull I was blowing all my CDs because no one was doing mechanics. Even sinking this much effort only resulted in about a 50% improvement. I felt like I was fighting for my life in 20 minute intervals. I switched to Shadow and holy crap. I just played my game. It was a night and day difference. I healed from the beginning through Legion then took a break and came back in January and I don’t know what the difference is but it feels awful. I think the worst as a mythic+ healer is the feedback system. I can’t watch numbers go brrt, I can’t just top up players, I have to manage all of the group because otherwise my game suffers. How are the other healers doing this expansion? Is Priest just in a bad spot or is this just healing these days? Edit: Thanks everyone for the advice. I mained a resto druid years ago and recently came back to the game. I used to get tons of compliments on my healing. I decided to roll a disc priest for Midnight and started m0 at about a 224 item level. Man is this stressful and doesnt get me hyped for the season. I've been joining groups labeled as relaxed but they are anything but relaxed. Why are people in such a hurry? Do you really need to pull 5+ packs at once in m0? Why not kill all the mobs before pulling the boss? Murder row can F off. My group disbanded because we couldnt down the last boss. I've had it for a couple years now, it never stays healed. Once it heals it'll come apart again within a few weeks. I guess that there's so much self-care content out there, I was anticipating that healing would be journalling, affirmations, cold showers, meditation, high fiving myself in the mirror, and of course, therapy. Instead it's been: -Coming to terms with the fact that my parents never loved me and will never have the skills to be the parents I need/needed. -Ending 99% of my 'friendships' and walking away from most of my family because I am now aware of how toxic and dysfunctional those relationships are. -Understanding that trauma and abuse go so far down the lineage in my families from both sides, that at this point, I'm the first one who is actually going to break the cycle but it means I'm often on my own. -Realising that it really was that bad and sometimes worst then I had even imagined. - Seeing that so many people are so comfortable in their own dysfunction that even if you want to bring them on your journey, sometimes you have to leave them behind if you have any chance of getting better -Seeing the part that I played in my own suffering at times e.g. Self-sabotage, being in victimhood etc. -Finally feeling 3 decades of sadness, grief, bitterness, resentment and unbelievable anger. -How uncomfortable putting up boundaries are. How uncomfortable being cared for is. Like literally the discomfort I feel when someone is genuinely being nice to me or I have to stand up for myself because I've been neglected and abused for so long. Finally, the kicker that is often talked about in this group, and in regards to trauma in general, no one is coming to save me. I will never have had a childhood, I will never have had those needs met as a child, and it is now ultimately my job to be the parent to myself that I never had. I'm determined to fight, if anything just out of spite and stubbornness because I've been through so much. I often feel that I am paying the price for the sins of other people. And as much as I hate to admit it, if I had known what healing was going to be like back then, I probably would have stayed in my old life (despite how bad things were). However, I am also learning to give myself grace and that healing isn't linear and is often very messy and complicated (as is life).
