I frequently take my infant on walks, today I received this message from a unknown profile, who has 1 friend. This has me feeling very paranoid. AIO?
My infant and I go on walks daily. Sometimes with my husband, sometimes alone. Today it was just me and my infant when I recieved this message from an unknown person. It made me feel very uneasy and paranoid. My husband says it is probably someone trolling.. but they had to have seen me on a walk? Aio? For context I was wearing a hoodie and crocs, hair not brushed in a ponytail (classic postpartum maternity leave look) I blocked out my name, and then my husband's name twice. Edit** My friends and family believe it's my ex? From 3 years ago. I don't believe it is him. The texts don't sound like him at all. I just get so paranoid these days! With trafficking and stuff, you can never be too sure! More so worried for my infant than myself. I was on my usual route, a busy area, lots of traffic and homes and stores.. when I recieved the first message. So I'm curious if they actually SAW me on my walk alone or it was a coincidence in timing?? I got the message thru fb, on a random account ??? submitted by /u/Dull-Mom to r/AIO [link] [comments]

My boss got fired for groping me. A coworker just told me it “wasn’t not my fault.”
My boss (who was double my age) recently got fired after things escalated to him groping me in his office and begging me to leave my husband for him. It was insane. He had a reputation for being creepy with women, but I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt until it crossed a line I couldn’t ignore. Obviously he’s gone now, but I’m the one left dealing with the fallout and trying to move on. Today another woman at work asked if I’d heard from him since he was fired. I said yes, but honestly I’m trying to move forward and it bugs me that people keep asking me about him. Everyone knew he was obsessed with me. I’m not saying that in an ego way — my self-esteem is actually pretty terrible — but it was obvious. The way he hovered around me, the way he treated me compared to everyone else, how possessive and controlling he was. She then says something like: “Yeah he was obsessed with you. It wasn’t your fault… but it also wasn’t not your fault.” I asked her what that meant. She said she didn’t want to say because it would be mean. I told her at that point she might as well just say it. Apparently she and a few others at work used to talk about how they couldn’t believe the outfits I’d wear knowing how creepy and obsessed he was with me. For context: I’ve always had a very large chest. Before a breast reduction I had 3 months ago I was a 32K. My body type meant my chest was noticeable no matter what I wore. I’ve gotten comments about it my entire life. But the thing is… it didn’t matter what I wore. One time I was literally wearing leggings and a hoodie and he told me I “looked horny.” Even HR made a comment about my body while writing up the complaint, saying “I could see why he had feelings for you. You have an attractive figure.” He sexualized ME. My clothes didn’t matter. I was honestly shocked hearing another woman imply that somehow I contributed to his behavior because of what I wore or because of how my body looked. I can’t stop thinking about the fact that people apparently watched this whole situation unfold and still landed on: “Maybe she shouldn’t have dressed like that.” Is victim blaming really still this common?? submitted by /u/Pretty-Rain-5756 to r/TwoXChromosomes [link] [comments]

My [29/M] girlfriend [28/F] refuse to wear a dress to my brother's wedding (or anywhere else if that matter)
I am not The OOP, OOP is u/SteelStrawberries My [29/M] girlfriend [28/F] refuse to wear a dress to my brother's wedding (or anywhere else if that matter). TRIGGER WARNING: sexism Original Post Feb 8, 2016 I [29/M] have been with my current girlfriend "Lisa" [28/F] for a little bit more than 2 years. She's a self-made woman, incredibly successful in everything she does, work, sports, etc. She the most intelligent, kind, funny, generous person I have ever met. Each and every day I am amazed at the luck I had to get such a girl to love me. She's a very down-to-earth girl, and prefer the outdoors to fancy outings. She hates everything "fussy" and she's a bit of a tomboy. I never saw her with makeup, or with something fancier than a ponytail. She's self employed and mostly wears jeans, t-shirts and hoodies, even wearing dress pants and a blouse for meeting clients is a huge event. Since my previous girlfriend was a typical girly-girl pink princess fashionista drama-queen (don't get me started...), I find Lisa extremely refreshing. As for our relationships, I moved in to her house last year, and was thinking about proposing sometime next spring. However, with the current state of affair, I don't know what to think about, well, everything... We've been invited to my brother's wedding. It's a very formal, black tie event in the classiest venue around town. When I told Lisa we would have to go shopping for clothes, she expressed her disdain for "formal" events. I jokingly told her I was looking forward to the wedding so I could see her for the first time all dressed up, in a beautiful dress, heels, hair done etc. She looked at me like I told the least-funniest joke in the history of mankind and said she's not going to wear a dress. Period. No discussion. I said it's a black tie event, so every woman will wear a dress. She said I don't understand. She doesn't wear dresses or skirts. She doesn't wear makeup. She doesn't wear heels. At first I thought I could persuade her, but she the queen of stubbornness (one of her bigger qualities sometime becomes her biggest fault). I talk about her reactions to her parents, they laughed at me when I told them I might be able to persuade her to change her mind. They told me the last time Lisa wore a dress, she was maybe 5 years old and even then it was an hassle to get her do it. After that, she threaten to disrobe if someone forced her to wear a dress. Even her beloved grandparents couldn't convinced her to wear one. Her friends told me the same things, they stopped trying long ago. I tried to have a serious discussion with Lisa to find the source of her disdain against dresses and skirts. Maybe there's a hidden trauma or something ? I probed and asked, all I can get is "I don't wear dresses because I don't like wearing dresses. Same thing with heels and makeup". Everyday it's the same reason over and over. I thought maybe it was some weird case of body shame, which would be a shame in itself because she has a killer body. I tried this approach but she saw right trough my strategy and assured me she know she would look stunning in a dress, she just don't wear dresses. I even offered to pay for it, she laughed again because she makes way more than I and could easily afford any dresses she like. I also offered a trade. She could make me do anything she want, any "improvement" she wish on myself in exchange of her wearing a dress to my brother wedding. She simply answered that she'll never ask for someone to change something about themselves for her, because she would hate being asked the same thing. Yesterday was breaking point. I was tired of not making any progress and simply plead to please wear a dress for a couple hours, it's a small sacrifice, everybody will be happy to see her there and after that no more dresses I swear. I was on my knees at this point, nearly crying. Her answer hurt more than I could care to admit, she said "I am not wearing a dress to your brother's wedding. It has nothing to do with your brother, nor with you or anyone else for that matter. I don't wear dresses because I don't like to and nobody will change that. I put up with you those last weeks hoping you would get the message, but at this point and I am annoyed beyond end that you don't understand. Now hear me : if I can wear dress pants and blouse to the wedding, I will attend. If I have to wear a dress, then I'll have to tell your brother and her fiancee that sadly I cannot attend their wedding due to personal circumstance. " Then she stopped for a moment, took a deep breath and said "you know... those last weeks really made me reconsider us a as couple. I understand your point of view and I know how frustrating I can be, but my decision was made way before you were even in my life. Another episode like that would probably means the end, at least for me... I thought about breaking up with you during those last week to be honest, but I couldn't do it, I didn't have it in me to throw the last two years to pieces because of this.... I don't know if it means the end for us, you have all the rights to be angry at me and wouldn't blame you if you leave." I've slept on the couch last night, just to be alone and think. Lisa tried to change my mind but I told her I needed some time by myself to think. She let out a sad chuckle and told me that I'm welcome in our bed anytime I want, and said she's not angry at me. I've already RSVP to my brother and told him we will be there, as a couple. My brother and his fiancee absolutely adores Lisa and I know they will be disappointed if she cannot makes it, as are my parents and most of my family. But even more than my brother's wedding, it leaves me worried about our future as a couple. We had two years of pure bliss. I understand couples fight sometime, but such a huge fight for something as petty ? What does it say about the strength of our relationship if she was nearly ready to break up with me because of a dress ? Deep down inside me, I know a potential breakup would devastate me. I had my share of failed relationships, but never was with a girl like Lisa. I know it would be rough for her, but she wouldn't be destroyed like I would. And this hurt more I think. I know she loves me (and everybody who knows her told me I must be something special for her to considering a long term relationship with me, everyone was beyond surprised when she offered I moved in with her). So I don't even know what is my question, precisely. Maybe someone could offer some outside perspective ? Are we doomed to fail ? Should I just accept her quirks and live happily ever after or should I move on and find someone else ? tl;dr: Girlfriend refuse to wear a dress to a formal event because she don't like wearing dresses. I tried to convince her, there's talks of breaking up. TOP COMMENTS ScrollButtons Sounds to me like she's not the only stubborn one. Look, she doesn't want to wear a dress or makeup or heels. There is literally no precedence where she has worn these things. She doesn't want to do it. She's willing to compromise with an outfit that will match the occasion (if not your expectations). From an outsider's perspective, yes you're being ridiculous and trying to fit her into a mold that she won't fit into. She's made it abundantly clear on how she stands with the issue and is now getting (rightfully) upset that you are ignoring her boundaries. Buy a dress for yourself if you want to be half of a couple where one person is wearing one. Otherwise, leave off or you'll lose her. ~ lonnielee3 You knew she only wears slacks - you knew it soon after you met her, when you dated, when you moved into her home. You KNOW she only wears slacks. So why did you put so much energy into trying to change a decision she made when she was 5 years old? If she has habits that are detrimental to her (or your) health, then that's one thing to be concerned about. But if she chooses her style to not include dresses, well, that's her decision. Frankly, I'm sorta surprised she hasn't kicked you out of her house yet. ~ slinky999 Tomboy here. I rarely wear skirts/dress or makeup, and never wear heels, so I'll offer you my perspective. You say you love your GF, and you don't want to change anything about her, but here you are trying to change her. You knew she was like this when you got together with her, and you're trying to beg/plead/cajole her into doing something you know she doesn't like. And you refuse to take no for an answer, even when threatened with breaking up. What really is the issue here ? Is it that you think your family will look down on you for having a GF that doesn't want to dress up ? Do you think your family/friends will laugh at you when your GF isn't all gussied up like the other women ? What is the problem with her wearing dress pants and a blouse ? Do you think that will reflect badly on you, are you not attracted to her in her preferred clothes, or do you simply look at her choices with disdain ? You say you accept her exactly how she is, and in the same breath you're trying to change her. This is not ok. Either you accept her or you don't. Which is it ? You are showing a profound lack of respect for her and her wants and needs. You knew this is how she was when you started dating her. You pushed and pushed and bribed and whined when she wanted to do exactly what she's always done. If you don't see the issue with that, then I'm not sure how much Reddit can help you. EDIT: The answers in this thread made it painfully clear I was in the wrong all the time, and for the wrong reasons (two wrongs don't make a right... never have I best understand it than now). I will go home and tell Lisa I am sorry for being so stubborn about a stupid dress and that I'll never ever try to get her to do thing she don't want just because I'm afraid to be ashamed or that people will laugh at her. Then I will call my brother and tell him that Lisa plan on wearing dress pants and a blouse to his wedding, and if it pose a problem well we'll have to pass. I cannot thank everyone enough for the perspective your answers gave me. What I thought was an huge problem was just me being a dick. And I agree with everyone in this thread who said I have bigger issues about myself to deal with. Being told so frankly by random internet stranger is more humbling that I thought. Update Feb 10, 2016 (2 days later) UPDATE : My [29/M] girlfriend [28/F] refuse to wear a dress to my brother's wedding (or anywhere else if that matter). Update from this post So this is an update about the previous post about my [29/M] girlfriend [28/F] refusal to wear a dress to a wedding. I went back home after work Monday night and first thing I did was to apologize for my behavior to Lisa. I told her I was really sorry for pestering her those last weeks to make her do something she didn't want to do. I told her I realize it's doesn't matter at all for me if she don't wear a dress (true, she can rock absolutely anything and be stunning) and that I was more worried about what my extended family would think of her (and myself, by ricochet). It's something that's obviously very important for her, and not important at all for me, I should have respected her choice. She also apologized for telling me she thought about breaking up, because even if she did thought about it, she couldn't go with it, and it was unfair to let me know, especially as mean to end our arguments. From the answer in my first post, nearly half said she was in the right and I was childish, and the other half said I was in the right and she was childish... I was apparently downvoted to hell by both parties too ! Well I agree with everybody. The fact is, Lisa is stubborn, it's part of who she is, and it's part of why I love her so much. Without the stubbornness, Lisa wouldn't be Lisa and it's perfectly fine with me (we're not perfects but she put up with my flaws too) Also in my previous post, some people were outraged at what she offered to wear, describing it at business casual. I saw the outfit and it's very formal : black flowy pants...someone called them "palazzo pants" I believe, white satin blouse and a long black cardigan-like thing that doesn't close in the front in a very fine material with some sparkle in it and shiny black leather flats (sorry about the terms, woman fashion isn't something I really know). So back to Lisa on Monday night... She said we should ask my brother and her fiancee if they are comfortable with her wearing pants, because it's their wedding so they should have the last word. So yesterday I called them and told them about it. My brother quickly passed the phone to her fiancee, since she's in charge of those things (he don't care at all, if it was only for him, he would have eloped). So I asked my brother's fiancee and she said that she would have been more surprised seeing Lisa in a dress than her showing in pants, and that it wouldn't offend her at all. We're both agree some people may try to make some negative remarks, but it's the general consensus that Lisa can handle that without trouble. And that anyway, knowing the extended family, everything that is not up to their standard will be a scandal, so what's a pair of pants gonna change. So were are going to my brother's wedding, me in a tux and Lisa in her outfit (which, according to my brother's fiancee, is A-W-E-S-O-M-E). And since we were all in wedding discussions, I told Lisa I was planning to propose sooner than later. We are going shopping for rings sometime after my brother's wedding. As for our wedding ceremony, we agreed on having a small ceremony next summer at her family cottage with our grandparents, parents, siblings and close friends (maybe 30 persons total). Since it's on a small island in the middle of lake nowhere, we have the perfect excuse to have a small, casual and intimate ceremony. Honestly, we couldn't fit everybody there even if we wanted to. Everyone else will receive a postcard from our honeymoon destination saying we happily married on XX date and please don't send gifts. tl;dr: Apologized to Lisa for my behavior and she apologized for what she said to me. Brother and her fiancee don't care at all if she wears pants to their wedding.... And we're getting married next summer.

Knitting Crisis part 2.
Knitting Class Karen gave my girlfriend this second flyer in reaction to the outfit she had on in class. Apparently, she had hundreds of these ‘the devil wants your ankles’ flyers in her purse. I’m guessing she goes around her daily life and hands them out to everyone. Outfit in question on second slide: black opaque leggings, knee high socks underneath, fuzzy boots. No skin showing. Baggy extra long hoodie on top. submitted by /u/lxghtbringer to r/mildlyinfuriating [link] [comments]

Rogan on Flagrant with the cabbie hat, sweat wicking athletic hoodie and blue jeans could be the worst outfit I’ve ever seen.
Why does nobody make fun of him for this or his awful collard shirts in his standup specials. Making fun of each others clothes and “Nice shirt stupid” was a staple for the Cellar crowd comics he used to hang out with submitted by /u/Logical_Ad_4352 to r/RedbarBBR [link] [comments]

Indefinite Backpack Travel - Year 11 Update!
Not sure how many onebaggers reach their second decade! For better or for worse, nothing has really changed since my post last year, since I have achieved “onebag perfection.” Still, I'll keep up the tradition of posting here annually I still live out of the 9 liter Aer bag I've had since 2021 (Aer actually updated their website to say it's 8.5L), and still only own what fits in the bag (plus a few outfit duplicates at my NYC homebase so I don’t need to do laundry as often). More than half of the items I carry have been with me for so long that they're no longer sold/impossible to restock Probably more interesting: I just updated the “onebag progression” Google Sheet I shared here a few years back, which tracks everything I’ve owned since 2015. Have any other onebaggers shared lists like this? I was hoping this format would become a thing! It's such a cool way to track the process! 2025 changes: My Sandisk SSD got corrupted. I’ve since learned that every travel SSD has this issue. I repeat, every travel SSD has corruption issues! Plan for it! Anyways, I decided if I’m gonna have to deal with the risk of corruption I may as well switch to tiny Samsung USB-C thumb drives that disappear in my pockets. Haven't had any issues with them so far! I got rid of my iPad, since it stopped being a device for art and creativity and became a device for movies and games. I will eventually add it back when the time is right As of this past winter I’ve been trying out a canvas jacket, which could never in a million years fit inside my bag but can be worn while on the move. Stacked on top of my down jacket + hoodie + shirt it gives me maximum cold protection and also has pockets to enable zero-bag travel I added a baseball cap. Purely an aesthetic choice I didn’t even make a new knoll photo, since you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Just pretend the iPad and SSD were replaced by a jacket and hat. And that's literally all the changes since last year! Consumerism hates me Full post on my website as always, but fair warning it's 95% the same as last year :) I’m also currently editing a video going over my onebag that I’ll share to Instagram (@jeremymaluf) later this week Safe travels! ✌️ submitted by /u/jeremymaluf to r/onebag [link] [comments]

Bridesmaid clearly lost her rabid mind.
My best friend got married last November. She asked one of our long time friends (thirteen years we’ve been friends) to be a bridesmaid. She did so many INSANE things. She wore a cream top and white pants to the bridal party. The bride addressed it on the spot in a joking but serious way. The bridesmaid laughed it off. The bride requested we wear burnt orange to the fancy bachelorette brunch. If we couldn’t find something we didn’t like, late summer/ early fall colors were okay- as long as we looked cohesive. Light denim, maroon, olive, blush pinks were all acceptable. The acceptable range was WIDE and we had 8 months to prepare. The morning she got there she said she doesn’t have anything. I said what??? She said “come on, neither do you.” I ripped my burnt orange skirt out of my bag so fast. When brunch came around, she put on a black denim jumpsuit. And then she changed- I kid you not- into a white tank top. The bride again said something about it and she rolled her eyes. The first day of the trip we had a casual brunch planned before checking into the bnb. I got there a day early and had a hotel where everyone met me. We took a group shot and had a canned cocktail before heading out. She had another canned cocktail and a second shot (I didn’t know this). We get out of the uber to get our bags and go into the restaurant and she PLOPS down on the curb. Confused, we try to talk to her and see that she has vomited down her shirt in the car. The restaurant is busy and the bride is embarrassed. I tell them to take the bags and go. I try to clean her up, put a hoodie on her, give her water- she won’t have it. I pace that sidewalk with her sitting there for THREE HOURS. When she wakes up later she says “you bitches left me.” ??? She asked if her friend who lives in that city could meet us after the bachelorette dinner. I said I don’t mind and the bride said it was fine. At the dinner she said her friend was on the way TO the dinner and got up to the bathroom. The bride tells me her friend is not welcome to the dinner and I need to let her know. I tell her, she says she’s already on the way and I say that’s unfortunate because the bride wants just us at the actual dinner. She proceeds to order a vodka and soda and NOTHING else. Not a salad. Not an app or entree. Her friend sits outside in the car and twice she leaves to go sit with her for 20 minutes at a time. She missed 40 minutes of dinner. She missed the complementary toast. She is extremely familiar with the city we travelled to for the bach. Her one ask was that she have ideas for activities after dinner. She had none. After dinner she didn’t come back to the house with us. She went to the club with her friend. We had to get champagne satin shoes with no embellishments for the wedding. Six days before the wedding she is sending the bride pictures of all kinds of wrong heels. Taupe rope heels, tan heels with crystals, and you guessed it! White heels. She gets an attitude with the bride for feeling a way about this. She waited until the absolute last minute to buy her dress. She didn’t bother trying it on until we were at the venue getting ready. Imagine if it needed to be altered. The day of the wedding she was arguing with her man. She showed up with an attitude. Like, a bad one. Got snarky with the already stressed bride. At the wedding, she said the brother of the groom was on drugs during the ceremony and she had to make sure he was okay. There was something else she said about his side but I can’t remember what it was. Absolute madness. I think there was something else but I can’t remember what it was. We are no longer friends. EDIT: I just wanted to provide some clarification on a couple things. I meant kettle one and soda, I was typing fast. Also, there were only two bridal events. There was the bridal shower, which is where she wore the cream top and white pants. The second event was the bachelorette trip, which was out of town. It started Friday and we left Sunday. There was a fancy brunch on Saturday and a dinner that night. The outfits were not micromanaged or hard requirements. The bride would have liked it but she wouldn’t have lost her mind if we all weren’t dressed how she wanted. I have also seen the bridesmaid in almost every color that would have worked. The only thing that would have bothered the bride is white, which is what happened. The bridesmaid was fully on board with the early fall color theme and was excitedly shopping for it months in advance. I understand it’s not for everyone, but this was not a burden or annoyance to her. I am not a traditional person by any means, but my friend is one of the most traditional, type A personalities I’ve ever met. I know she can be high strung and anxious at times. Our friend also knows this about her. Where we come from, you don’t wear white to bridal events. That does not mean we couldn’t “wear white for weeks in advanced.” Just not to her very humble bridal shower and during her bachelorette trip. I’m mostly unfamiliar with wedding etiquette, but I’ve always heard you don’t wear white to wedding things. As for her being on the curb for three hours, she was sitting up with her forehead on her forearms. I tried to reach through her legs and reach a straw to her mouth for water but she didn’t want it. I tried to stand her up but she didn’t want to. She wasn’t passed out- she was coherent and talking to me. She said she wasn’t ready to get into a car and she just needed time. She was just extremely nauseous. Someone said I must have left her and enjoyed brunch. I never left her. I wouldn’t leave a stranger alone like that, much less so someone I’ve known for over a decade. I also did not want her to vomit in someone’s car. I couldn’t force her into a car and I couldn’t leave her. What was I to do? For those asking if there were signs that this would happen- yes and no. She has had a history with substance abuse and she has always been rough around the edges, but, at that point, we had never had problems between the three of us. There was one time I kicked her out of my house over a shitty comment she made about a dog I was taking care of and she cursed me out, but that was forever ago. It blew over relatively quickly and neither of us really held onto it (it was one rough moment in a 13 year friendship). But we hadn’t witnessed behavior like that for years. There was no indicator that she would get wasted three hours after getting off of the plane or leave the bachelorette dinner to sit in her friend’s car. EDIT 2: there was no list of demands/ expectations/ rules. Like, at all. Lots of faulty extrapolation in the comments. Also, do bridesmaids not wear matching shoes??? I am genuinely asking. I thought they do? submitted by /u/cccanaryyy to r/weddingshaming [link] [comments]

AITAH for being brutally honest with my friend about why women don’t like him?
I am NOT OOP, OOP is u/Special-Ad2872 Originally posted to r/AITAH AITAH for being brutally honest with my friend about why women don’t like him? Editor's note: add paragraph breaks for ease of readability Thanks to u/soayherder & u/queenlegolas for suggesting this BoRU Trigger Warning: incel behavior, body shaming Mood Spoilers: concerning Original Post: June 18, 2025 Yes this is a long post but it’s a long story. Hear me out. My friend who I’ll refer to as Nathan (25M) has had horrible luck with women for a very long time. He does have a bright future ahead of him though in regards to career. He’s just graduated college last year and is currently in Law school. However he’s been homeschooled his whole life, and does ALL his college courses and law school online, not in person; which leads me to this next point: He’s never had a girlfriend, never been out on a successful date, is still a virgin and lowkey doesn’t have many friends in general either so his social skills are REALLY underdeveloped. His only real socialization was with older people (parents, grandparents, fellow elder people) and me (met through family friends) so he was kind of raised very…..sheltered and doesn’t have anything in common with anyone his own age, let alone women his own age. To top that all off, he’s been nothing but super focused on school and being the best student he can be so grades were his number 1 priority during his developmental years which there isn’t anything wrong with that, however he never took a break to live life or have any experiences in life. Nathan has had multiple girls his family introduced him to starting in 2021 all the way till now and they’ve been trying to get them to give him a chance but they end up just not liking him. I really hate to not be on his side and support him through his constant rejections from multiple girls, but it’s gotten to a point where all these girls have the same complaints about him: Nathan’s about 5’2 and body wise, very skinny/petite-built. He is also starting to bald, and has no bodily strength whatsoever either; he starts shaking just from holding a grocery bag. I hate to sound rude, but the truth is the truth: He is built like a little girl and has the hairline of a father of 3. While I understand height can’t be changed and not necessarily his hair either, he can at least start working out and possibly add some weight/muscle to give him SOME manly appearance so I mentioned him doing this with me in general conversation with him. Whenever I go to the gym I tell him to come join me as a hobby or just to be my gym buddy. He declined numerous times and the one time he did go, he struggled lifting a 10 lb weight…so he stopped going. Okay, whatever. The way Nathan dresses is very grandpa vibes (tucks in shirt, dress pants/slacks and dress shirts on an ordinary day, etc) I asked him why doesn’t he dress more comfortable everyday, like a jogging outfit, a hoodie, some jeans/sweats, and that he should wear sneakers instead of Freddie Benson dress shoes everyday. He doesn’t think anything’s wrong with how he dresses, and he wants to look “professional” since he’s gonna be an upcoming lawyer one day. I explained to him Lawyers dress in suits and ties, not tucked in button up flannels. And they also don’t dress like that everyday either, just when they’re on the job. Sadly, he wasn’t having it. Then it finally hit me: it’s his damn personality, or the lack of it. See, I’m not trying to talk down on him, but if we’re gonna go by objective reality: He has the personality of a brick. I’ve seen with my own 2 eyes how he talks to girls, how he acts on dates etc; he cannot make a conversation to save his life. He is not funny either, and has 0 charisma. He’s a literal mute on all double dates and 1 on 1 dates he’s been on, and it’s so painfully awkward to watch. It’s not like the girls aren’t trying either, I’ve managed to get him dates however they go nowhere due to his sheer lack of confidence, personality or interest. When he talks to a woman, it’s like all that he knows how to talk about is just…school. And if it’s not school, it’s just radio silence. Or some shit that only boomers would understand or care about. I’ve also noticed how everytime him and I go out somewhere, and I’m not sure if it’s due to his size; he is SCARED and flinches whenever people walk past us and he’s always afraid that doing anything or going anywhere fun or interesting is too “wild” or “dangerous” for him (I.E Concerts, bars, amusement parks etc). So I did it. He whined and whined, kept being full of bitterness, complaints and negativity, talking bad about women and saying they never want good men and they only want players or good looking tall guys. So I ended up telling him straight out that the reason he doesn’t get anywhere with girls is because he’s a dork. I told him I don’t care if he’s a dork since I’m not the one dating him, but that girls crave excitement, fun, or at least someone they can talk to about anything or have fun experiences with etc. I told him he refuses to change anything physically about himself, and to top it all of he won’t even make himself at least interesting or fun to be around and he is completely dull. That is why he can’t pull or keep. He then got mad at me and accused me of “picking on him” and “making fun of him”, and that I’m “holding his life circumstances against him” (no public schooling/socialization) to which I told him I am not and I wish I was just saying non-sense, I am telling him the truth. I explained to him that his lack of social skills and appearance isn’t necessarily his fault, however if someone’s giving you advice on what’s stopping you from getting where you want to be and how to change it, you should take that advice and quit complaining and just thinking everyone should accept you as you are because newsflash: we all have flaws. I told him that if he wants get somewhere with girls and not have constant competition then he needs to have something to make up for it, because there are plenty of lawyers and future lawyers in the world and simply saying “I graduated college” isn’t gonna make somebody have a connection or attraction to you. He told me I’m jealous that he’s getting somewhere in his life academically, and that other girls are the problem for not seeing his worth and future success and that if that’s not enough for them to be with him, then they’re the ones not good enough for him. I have not talked to him since then and I refuse to associate with someone who thinks I’m jealous of them for giving them constructive criticism to a problem they constantly complain about. My dad is saying I’m right but also that it’s probably an insecurity on his part and I should apologize and try not to be too hard on him. I feel like I shouldn’t be friends with somebody who can’t ever see what’s wrong with them or accept their flaws without crying about it and blaming others though because that’s just plain toxic to me. AITAH? AITAH has no consensus bot, OOP was NTA Is there any chances that Nathan could be autistic? OOP: I’m ngl, I kind of had a feeling for a couple years that might of been his issue especially since mental disabilities run in his family (his brother had down syndrome and passed away). But even then, most autistic people are already kind of aware that they’re a little off from others and simply just need to be told what to do/not to do in regards to social cues and they grasp onto it quickly. Also I’ve met many autistic people who actually had a personality….My friend absolutely REFUSES to accept that he’s kind of a weirdo and that he has none at all, so I’m not sure where that’s landing for him. Commenter 1: “holding his life circumstances against him” (no public schooling/socialization) NTA - like you said, it's not about his past, it's that he doesn't even want to attempt improving himself. Going to the gym doesn't even have to be about working out, it should be about learning to socialize. Maybe he needs to take an art class, yoga class, or something just so he can learn how to talk to people in general before he goes on dates. OOP: I’ve tried to introduce him to a lot of my friends, you know so he can try to have a friend group. He failed numerous times to get along with them due to lack of anything in common or once again, not being able to make a conversation or even say something funny to at least break the ice. He also thinks they’re all “reckless, dangerous and bad influences” because they go to parties and drink here and there. They’re literally 25+, so I’m not sure what’s the big deal if they party or have a beer…. Commenter 2: NTA. But as unrelated practical advice, I think asking him to do things he knows he would not enjoy like concerts and bars is not helpful. I would encourage him to find and pursue time in a hobby he has any sort of potential interest in. Because then you can talk to other people who also pursue that hobby, which immediatly gives you something to talk about. Usually it's not too hard to find a club or group for any potential hobby that exists. This is really helpful for people who are bad at holding conversations. OOP: Oh I’ve tried that, the thing is he has no hobbies or interests. He’s just school, family, school, family and more school. I’ve recommended hobbies to him, like getting into cars, sports, even video games; all of it is unappealing to him so long as it’s something fun and not something to do with being ultra serious, respectful and studying unfortunately. What kinds of things do Nathan like to talk about? OOP: He only likes to talk about boring things or things from hundreds of years ago….He’ll talk about war, history facts, evolution/viking days etc. When I say boomer shit, I mean he doesn’t watch anything but the news, reads newspapers (I didn’t even know they still make them) and only talks about work/school, plays bingo and gets along only with elders. + Yes, those could be his hobbies; which I don’t have an issue with or care that he’s into them. It’s just the point that the women I KNOW would be into him and have these same interests, he’s not into. He doesn’t want a girl in his league. He wants the popular, beautiful, charming women with multiple better options than him, but they also have to be a virgin and have the demeanor of Mother Teresa at the same time. Then when they don’t like him or have any of these same interests as him, or he finds out said woman doesn’t exist (obviously) he gets all bitter and whiny. I don’t know if he was raised on Disney princess movies or something but dude doesn’t wanna live in reality. Commenter 3: The part about him being jumpy and scared whenever anyone passes by him is what stands out the most. Is it possible that he was abused? He was home schooled so no one would’ve seen anything but a lot of times that is the reaction people develop when they have to walk on egg shells as a child in their home because they didn’t know what to expect from parents and when they would get mad at something. OOP: No, he was not abused. He was a very loved child actually. Maybe neglected developmentally, but not abused. He’s just paranoid of the outside world for some reason.   Update: June 21, 2025 (three days later) OG post is here https://www.reddit.com/r/AITAH/s/jtiCTbz5CV I just wanted to say that I got in contact with Nathan and apologized to him for being too harsh towards him. I tried explaining to him that even though I was harsh, I was just frustrated and trying to help him since I figured he’d needed someone to be blunt with him, but it wasn’t my intention to hurt his feelings or anything. I made sure to express that I do care about him as a person and just wanted to guide him since he seemed lost in the world of dating. He didn’t really accept my apology, told me that I’m on the path to being a broke, loser bum because I’m in a different field than him and he has decided that everything I told him was just out of jealousy and that he thinks, and I quote “he is owed the highest form of respect for being a good man who is a future legal representative” and since I wasn’t giving him that, that we should stop being friends. He also attempted to tell me that I should watch out from disrespecting him because in the future my life will be in his hands and he’ll have the power to put me in jail (???). I assured him that jealousy and the highest form of respect definitely wasn’t the case lol, but if that’s how he feels then so be it. At least I know I tried and did my part. I also wanted to answer some questions I seen people leave under the OG post for some clarity: Yes, he is 5’2. Yes, he is very skinny and small. Every physical attribute I’ve mentioned and described is real. Some people thought I was over exaggerating or just straight up lying, but I am not. For those asking how is he doing college/law school online, he was studying online classes at University of Florida, as for law school I know which one he is doing but I won’t say for privacy purposes. As for WHY he’s been doing nothing but home/online his whole life, it’s because his parents are really overprotective of him. They were consistently worried about school shootings, kidnappers etc, even to this day. For those asking if his families religious, yes they are. However mine is too, and many others; this has not stopped anyone from growing into a different or better person nor has it caused me or anyone I know (besides Nathan) to have a one track mind. For those asking if he is autistic, he isn’t diagnosed so I don’t wanna say yes, but does he exhibit signs of severe autism? Yes, yes he does. The lack of social/self awareness was a clear sign for me, but I don’t wanna label him that if I’m wrong. For those who mentioned how he plans to be a lawyer with no talking/social skills: I mentioned this to him during our last conversation. I told him forget about women, and politely explained that he also needs to improve his communication and social skills if he plans to be a lawyer because without that he isn’t gonna make it very far. He told me he’s “got it all figured out” and as long as he gets that degree, that’s all he needs to be ultra successful in law. I told him that’s not how it works and you quite literally have to be slightly manipulative and convincing in order to make a name for yourself because what good is your degree if you suck at actually performing your job? He once again tried to tell me that I’m jealous and don’t know what I’m talking about. So yeah, after all that I’ve accepted that our friendship is over and I’m not sure where he’s gonna land in the future, whether in regards to romantic relationships or his actual career, and I was also the only friend he had so I do wish him the best and hope life doesn’t humble him to the point of no return. I don’t think he’s a bad person, just out of touch with reality, and I hope that doesn’t backfire too harshly on him. Relevant / Top Comments Commenter 1: In the original post you mentioned that he had a disabled sibling who died young. Your (former?) friend isn’t necessarily autistic. His parents coped with the pain of one child dying by isolating their remaining child “for safety.” They kept him away from life experiences and developing social skills by never putting him in situations where he was forced to learn to interact with other people. He’s wildly ignorant as a result, and arrogant in his ignorance. This is developmentally normal for a young teenager. Just how old was he when his brother died? If you have the mental bandwidth, keep a line of communication open. If and when he realizes that he’s been neglected, he may reach out to you. You don’t have to put up with any bullshit, but if he’s honestly gotten to that point, a kind word or three could be part of how he develops. OOP: He only died a year ago. Not long enough to shield Nathan from the world. They’ve been doing this. Commenter 2: He’s going to get eaten alive in a firm, but that will be his lesson to learn. But I doubt he’ll even manage to get a foot in the door. Commenter 3: I feel like Nathan's parents are to blame for his attitude towards OP. The stuff Nathan said about OP being jealous and that he will be an instant success as long as he gets a degree sound like a parent telling them child that everything will be ok and it's not your fault, everyone is just out to get you that's all. Very sheltered by the way OP describes why he was homeschooled and does online college classes.   DO NOT COMMENT IN LINKED POSTS OR MESSAGE OOPs – BoRU Rule #7 THIS IS A REPOST SUB - I AM NOT OOP submitted by /u/Choice_Evidence1983 to r/BestofRedditorUpdates [link] [comments]

How do Asa/Yoru keep changing outfits? Last we saw just moments before this chapter she had a grey hoodie/white shirt, now she has a white jacket/black shirt.
Her home is a weapon so she wouldn’t have any spare clothes yet her outfit has changed multiple times since. None of her clothes were super damaged needing replacement so is she just robbing stores and looting corpses for the drip? Very out of character unless Yoru is taking over to do it but fashion doesn’t seem like her priority. Also the fact it’s seemingly only been a few seconds or minutes so when did she even change. submitted by /u/-Shoji- to r/ChainsawMan [link] [comments]
