We're done with HubSpot—Looking at either Nutshell, Pipedrive, or Zoho as an alternative and need real user opinions, please.
We're a small contracting business (construction), and we've been on HubSpot for a while now. Honestly, it's been a frustrating experience. The platform has become bloated and clunky over time, pricing is all over the place (we were hit with an unexpected auto-upgrade that really stung), and every time we've needed help from support, it's been a dead end. We're a team of 8 using it across different functions: 2 people in sales, 2 in marketing, 3 who use it more for project tracking/management, and 1 person who mainly lives in the reporting and forecasting side. So we need something that's reasonably versatile without being overkill. We've narrowed it down to Nutshell, Pipedrive, and Zoho. I've been doing a lot of research, and right now I'm leaning toward Nutshell mostly because it seems to give you the most for your money at our size, and the feature set looks like it covers all of our use cases without forcing you into enterprise-tier pricing to access basics. Reviews also indicate that their customer support is really good. That said, Pipedrive and Zoho seem to be popular choices at a decent price point with a solid set of features. Honestly, I'm not 100% sure.... I've been wrong about software before, so I'd like some advice from people who have actually used these CRMs. If you're currently using any of these three (or have recently switched away from one), I'd genuinely love to hear your take: What do you actually like and dislike about it? How's the onboarding and customer support been? Any surprises, good or bad, after you committed to it? Any reasons you'd steer a small construction/contracting business away from one of these? Hubspot gets worse everyday
I have been using Hubspot for my role for about 4 years now and I used to really like it. It's always had weird issues but the company I work for has always chalked it up to it being an us issue rather than Hubspot. It is no longer that way. I use the sequence function and we used to be able to upload photos just once and then they would be in the select image area. Now it's two choices, upload new image or choose existing image. Seemed like an unnecessary change but whatever I'll work with it. Except when I upload a new image it doesn't then become an existing image. I have to upload new image for every email. I used to be able to choose the entire email and change the font, size, and color all without having to reselect the text. That is no longer the case either. I have to select the text every time to make each change. Now it's a hassle to even make changes to the sequence. I want to make one part of the email a different font color. I select the words. I change the font color. I select update existing template. It. doesn't. save. I've never hated working a corporate job more than now and it is largely to do with hubspot. Rant over. PLEASE let me know if this is all user error or possibly something to do with the computer. I would love to actually be able to use hubspot without wanting to rip my hair out. Hubspot AEs, how bad is it really?
Two qualifiers here: It would be for a sales supporting role (think ops, enablement, sales strategy, etc) I have looked at RepVue, and tried reaching out to a few AEs, and that’s why I’m here Title and qualifiers say most of it. I have an email offer, negotiating last couple items before written, deciding if I’ll take it or not. The RepVue reviews and Q&A are pretty savage, and if it is as bad as it sounds, that isn’t something I’d want for the role I’m going for. They also have been evasive about me asking to speak to an AE as part of the process, which is concerning. Also unsure of going back into CRM space (worked for Salesforce in the past) given the state of SaaS and Hubspot not being the leader. The HubSpot connector 1.0 supported incremental loads by means of passing a query. The new 2.0 connector does not support queries. Does that mean the new connector does not support incremental loads, or is there some other option? Fetching all of the data to staging would be highly inefficient and unusable.

Amazon vs Hubspot?
Hi all, i got an offer from Hubspot, the pro being it’s completely remote and the pay is $30k higher, and the role is something I’m interested in. Hubspot is soo expensive
We've been with Hubspot for 10+ years and not sure if we can afford it anymore. Started with one account which has doubled in cost. Added another one 2 years ago and is already almost as much as the first. Over the years they've changed the way they charge for number of contacts, seats, core seats, and features included in our plan. Yes, they've also added features and improved UX over the years, no doubt but it is also very expensive. Between the 2 accounts we're paying over $1,600/mo. Is that about what others are paying? And the more contacts we add, the more expensive it gets which is really counter intuitive since that is literally what we are both trying to do. I almost don't want more contacts because Hubspot gets more expensive. I know you can make contacts marketing or nonmarketing but honestly it's a pain in the ass and they've even made that process difficult and clunky by making you wait until the end of the month to use them. We are in the clean energy business, so yeah fuck us because drill baby drill, but we called to see if they will work with us they pretty much said nope - not even to consolidate the accounts into one. We just renewed in December so its a tough pill to swallow. Anyone successfully renegotiated with Hubspot? Any tips? Extremely negative interview experience with Hubspot
Hey guys; need to vent a little but also wanted to share a pretty shitty way companies are using AI for interviews. Recently interviewed with Hubspot. Had a call with a recruiter and they mentioned they used AI to transcribe the call. No issues my side but was viable in the screen for the zoom call. Role was very similar to a role I worked for a few years with a competitor company and Hubspot had hired some people from my old company so recruiter arranged next steps with one of the managers (but did say hadn’t fully decided where in the org the role would be so might be the actual manager). Manager was based in Central Europe so took an interview at 8am to facilitate them. Got to 8.10 and no sign of the interviewer, so emailed recruiter and scheduling but got nothing back and was just about to leave at 8.15 when the manager showed up. Gave me a very vague sorry I was doing something else and never got a notification that it was starting. Not the end of the world but not an ideal start to the interview. Told me she had 4 questions she needed to ask, and that AI would be recording and transcribing it, fine with me. However when she started each question was broken into 3 parts so imagine: Tell me a a time when you did x,y,z & how it lead to A,b,c and and another then when d,e,f happened if (some other variable happened) how you react. Started to notice after she asked a question she would turn to a second screen and did seem to be paying too much attention, as when I would finish she would take a few seconds to acknowledge I had finished talking and then say something like, yeh ok time for the next question. Then there was a few things, I explicitly stated in my company were different from other companies, things like different team names, and processes and on two occasion I had to say to her “well as I mentioned in my company it’s different” after she made comments on my answers indicating she wasn’t listening to a word I was saying. Then came a stranger one, when she started arguing with me about my current company. Now I’m in a very large global company with a lot of Different teams and orgs and I’ve been here there dor a while. I also explained at the start where my team sat and what I covered. But she bizarrely began to tell me she had interviewed people from my company before and she knew about what I was doing and claimed I wasn’t doing things I do on a daily basis. I told her that yes some team were restructured but I was there long before that and had not seen a change and that I sit in a different org, to which I got a response of “well I’ve interviewed others who didn’t say that”. Now this is where the real red flag kicked in. At the end of the interview she said ok thanks, “I’m going to get some time today and read the transcript and look at the answers you gave and the. Give my feedback”. Pretty much confirmed she wasn’t listening to a word I was saying and I was just planning on reading back the AI transcript. Could see she was reading another screen, was not aware when I finished answers and picked fights about what I do on a daily basis. Ultimately wasn’t bothered with the interview in the slightest. Now look everyone has bad interviews and managers who just don’t put the slightest amount of effort in, but it was so worry that she openly said I’ll just read your answers later on, showing she didn’t actually listen to anything in the interview. Got an email later that day to say she felt I took too long to answer her questions (the one with 3/4 layers in it) but at this stage wasn’t bothered any more. How is the dev culture actually at HubSpot, especially for folks in the Dublin office?
I’ve been reading a lot of reviews about HubSpot lately and honestly I’m a bit confused. A lot of people say the engineering culture has become extremely metrics driven. Stuff like tracking number of PRs, time to comment, number of comments, etc. I’ve also seen multiple posts calling it a hire to fire environment and straight up saying not to join. I know there’s a big internal push around AI, but that feels true for almost every company right now. TBH culture has kind of gone to shit in a lot of tech companies recently. Layoffs, performance metrics everywhere, AI pressure, constant reorgs. So I’m trying to separate general industry pain from HubSpot specific issues. How is the experience for developers at HubSpot today, especially in the Dublin office? Are the reviews overblown or is it genuinely risky to join right now? I was considering HubSpot mainly because it’s fully remote, but I don’t want to walk into something where I've the constant fear over my career or mental health. Hubspot - Unpleasant experience
Our company uses about 8+ enterprise saas and the hubspot experience has been THE absolute worst - revolving door or reps, fear mongering sales practices, condescending and generally unhelpful support/CSMs with single line responses to a problem we’re trying to solve. Retailers I work with are already projecting 30%+ revenue loss over 2025. We haven't even begun to feel the damage from tariffs yet.
I work at a SAAS company that provides services to retailers that sell things like clothing, home-goods, electronics, shoes etc. Think Levi-Strauss, Adidas, BestBuy. My POCs are freaking out. One POC said their company is figuring out the feasibility of moving warehouses to other countries to avoid supply chain risk. One company told me their customers are calling them asking where their orders are–the packages are all being held in US ports until the customers pay the tariffs for the goods directly. Yes, you read that right. These companies are gonna lower revenue guidance by 30%+ Even if Trump and Xi agree to lower tariffs substantially (which seems unlikely to me – Trump has been consistently talking about tariffs on China for decades), I'm not sure how much of the damage can be walked back. Once a company has a freak out about supply chains and tariffs they're going to take action to mitigate risks in case orange face does it again. And there's no chance in hell they're going to be hiring in this kind of risky environment. I think we're headed for years of negative real GDP growth. Besides unemployment from the retail sector, we're going to have million+ government works laid off by DOGE, and small to medium tech companies are going to lose contracts. (Who's gonna keep paying Hubspot or Monday a few hundred grand a year when GDP growth is negative) Not much looks investable in this environment. The only thing I like are gold miners (GDX, GDXJ). Even if gold takes a healthy haircut here, the miners are priced as if gold is at like $2000 an ounce, not $3000. These are basically companies that turn oil into gold, and in a deep recession, oil prices will also drop. Good luck to us all.
