iPhone 15 Pro Max to 17 or wait
UK (don’t think that changes anything!) I have iPhone 15 Pro Max. Battery is now at 81%. It struggles to last the day. I use it for everything (unlocks my car, my wallet, travelling). Take a few photos but nothing massive. I’m not sure whether to upgrade to 17 Pro Max or try and hold out until Sept for iPhone 18 Pro Max. I do like the idea of the rumoured foldable so also thought about waiting out for this, though the rumoured size might actually be too big I think. I have an iPhone 12 I use for work and enjoy the screen size but do like my iPhone 15 Pro Max I have a holiday in August, so that’s what it tempting me to upgrade submitted by /u/Maximum_Algae_8582 to r/AppleWhatShouldIBuy [link] [comments]

Is the iPhone 15 Pro Max still worth it in 2026?
Hey everyone, My iPhone 13 Pro Max is starting to run out of storage, so I’ve been thinking about upgrading. Right now the iPhone 15 Pro Max with 512 GB seems pretty attractive in terms of price/performance. Do you think it’s safe to go for a good used/refurbished one? I’m a bit unsure because I keep hearing about overheating issues with those models. Also, I’m wondering if I should maybe just go straight for the 16 Pro Max instead. The 17 Pro Max is out of the question for me — way too expensive for what it offers. submitted by /u/Educational-Hat-4002 to r/iPhone15ProMax [link] [comments]

Sold my Iphone 15 Pro Max to start using my Iphone SE 2016 again (FREEDOM!)
I thought of buying some kind of flip phone and sell my Iphone to stop scrolling because I was doing it wayyy too much and I had trouble controlling myself. I realized that I had an Iphone that I didn't use. I did not bother selling it because I thought I broke the screen - turns out it was just the screen cover. I changed the screen cover and the case, it feels like I just bought a new phone. Loving the camera that feels kinda vintage, and the cute size ^.^ I can't believe we all got used to carrying heavy 'phablets' around and spending so much energy and money on them. Switching my phones made me stop scrolling totally - I don't see the fun of watching videos on this small thing after being used to huge modern phones. Apps like Tiktok lag a lot too. Everything that I mainly use the phone for works BUT my banking app (can't even use it on browser). I mainly call, text, write E-Mails, chat, and take photos. My battery is 88% surprisingly, does not last very long if I take a lot of photos or listen to music for many hours. The battery is fine for me, needing to charge once or twice during the day is a great trade-off for its size and the fact that it literally cured my scolling addiction. Since I sold my modern Iphone, I feel free! submitted by /u/Narrow_Lawyer_9536 to r/dumbphones [link] [comments]

Skipped the 16/17 and got a 15 Pro Max instead.
I finally upgraded my 13 to a 1TB 15 Pro Max. I’m planning to use it until it can’t keep up anymore. I was thinking of jumping to the 16 or even the 17, but I read that this one has some of the best performance, and honestly, I’m really happy with it. What do you think about using a bumper instead of a full case? I’ve always felt that iPhones look better without protection. submitted by /u/terran183 to r/iPhone15Pro [link] [comments]

15 Pro Max 2.5 years later
Blue titanium is a top 5 iPhone color of all-time and I’ll die on that hill. Had mine since October 2023, still runs as good as the first say I bought it and still get all day battery life. Such a future proof phone, has everything you need, and even the crappy Apple AI if you use it (I turned mine off). I plan on running mine until Apple no longer supports it and will just replace the battery here when needed. Sucks they only made the titanium chassis for two years before switching back to aluminum. submitted by /u/-Kattas- to r/iPhone15Pro [link] [comments]

This prompt turns any product into a stunning engineering teardown. Copy, paste, replace the object - See examples for iPhone 17 Pro Max, DJI Mavic Drone, and Macbook Pro
TLDR: This single prompt generates stunning, museum-quality technical infographics for any object. I break down how this advanced prompt works, provide the full template, and show examples for an iPhone 17, a DJI Drone, and a MacBook Pro M5 that were created instantly with it. Recommend using this prompt with Google Gemini Nano Banana model. I have seen a lot of image prompts, but this one is different. It is a complete, self-contained system for creating beautiful and informative technical teardowns of any object you can imagine. Forget spending hours in Photoshop or Illustrator trying to combine renders with annotations. This prompt does it all in one shot, producing visuals that look like they belong in a high-end engineering manual or a museum exhibit. This is more than just a prompt; it is a workflow. It combines multiple advanced techniques into a single, powerful command. Today, I am breaking down why it works, giving you the full template, and showing you three incredible examples I generated with it. The Anatomy of a Perfect Technical Infographic Prompt This prompt is so effective because it is incredibly specific and layers multiple instructions together. It does not just ask for an image; it dictates a precise visual language. Best Practices Embodied in This Prompt: •Hybrid Style: It masterfully combines a realistic photoreal render with black ink technical annotations. This is the key to its professional look. You get the beauty of a 3D model and the clarity of an engineering diagram. •Dramatic Perspective: It specifically calls for a 45-degree isometric 3D perspective. This is a classic drafting technique that shows an object's form and internal structure in a way that a flat, head-on view never could. It adds depth, dimension, and a sense of drama. •Controlled Information Flow: The prompt uses a clear, color-coded system for annotations. This is a critical detail. By assigning specific colors to functions like power, data, and thermals, the infographic becomes instantly readable and easy to understand. Pro Tips for Adapting This Prompt: •Customize the Color Codes: The prompt suggests a standard color scheme, but you can adapt it to any system. For example, you could add a color for PURPLE (Audio Components) or YELLOW (Structural Elements). •Specify Cutaway Depth: You can guide the AI on how deep the cutaway sections should be. Try adding phrases like shallow cutaway revealing only the top layer of components or deep cross-section showing the core architecture. •Change the Annotation Style: While the prompt calls for a technical pen style, you could experiment with other styles like vintage blueprint annotations or minimalist digital callouts. The Ultimate Technical Infographic Prompt Template Here is the full prompt. Simply copy, paste, and replace the object with anything you want to visualize. Prompt Template: Plain Text Create a technical infographic of [OBJECT] with a 45-degree isometric 3D perspective showing the device slightly tilted to reveal depth and dimension. Combine a realistic photoreal render with black ink technical annotations on pure white background. Include: Key component labels with color-coded callout boxes Internal component visibility through transparent/cutaway sections Measurements, dimensions, and precise scale markers Material callouts and quantities Color-coded arrows for function/flow: RED (power/battery), BLUE (data/connectivity), ORANGE (thermal/processor), GREEN (sensors/haptics) Simple schematics or cross-sectional diagrams where relevant Place “OBJECT” title in a hand-drawn technical box (top-left corner). Style: Black linework (technical pen/architectural), sketched but precise. Object remains clearly visible. Educational museum-exhibit vibe. Clean composition, balanced negative space. Perspective: Isometric 3D angle—tilted to show depth, dimension, and internal architecture dramatically. Like a professional product teardown or engineering manual. Colors: ~10-15% accent density. Black dominant. White background. Output: 1080×1080, ultra-crisp, social-feed optimized. Prompt Examples: From Imagination to Reality I used this exact prompt to generate detailed infographics for three different products. The results speak for themselves. Notice how the AI correctly interprets the internal components and applies the annotation style consistently across all three. (The three generated images of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, DJI Mavic 4 Drone, and MacBook Pro M5 would be inserted here in the Reddit post) Hidden Things Most People Miss in This Prompt •The Hand-Drawn Title Box: This small detail adds a touch of authenticity and reinforces the “engineering manual” aesthetic. It feels more personal and less sterile than a standard digital font. •Educational Museum-Exhibit Vibe: This phrase guides the AI’s overall composition. It encourages clarity, clean composition, and a focus on making the information accessible and engaging. •Ultra-Crisp, Social-Feed Optimized: This is a practical instruction that ensures the final output is high-resolution and perfectly suited for platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, or Reddit. It is thinking about the end use case directly within the prompt. This prompt is a masterclass in how to communicate with AI. It is specific, structured, and full of expert details that guide the model toward a brilliant result. Take it, use it, and start creating your own incredible technical visuals. iPhone 17 Pro Max | iOS26 Is Actually Crazy Battery Nightmare | Power Consumption Deep Dive
iPhone 17 Pro Max | iOS26 Is Actually Crazy Battery Nightmare | Power Consumption Deep Dive byu/MarionberryDear6170 iniPhone17Pro 20250927 Edit: I’m really appreciate that you have sp much attention on this Deep Dive Review. But most importantly, you have to let Apple seeing this. Please send whatever bothered you to Apple🙏 Go to your web browser and type this> applefeedback:// This will lead you to Apple Feedback app. You’re welcome. ————- Original Post: Why I’m posting THIS This is a deep dive analysis about how iOS 26 Liquid Glass animation is total battery killer, even on iPhone 17 Pro Max. Here’s a video I recorded exposing how Liquid Glass in iOS 26 eats up your phone’s battery. iPhone 17 Pro Max | iOS26 Is Crazy Battery Nightmare | Power Consumption Deep Dive TL;DR On my both 15 Pro Max and 17 Pro Max (iOS 26 official release), UI interactions (Control/Notification Center pull-downs, starting screen recording, Safari startup/page loads, etc.) repeatedly spike to ~10–14W, causing drain and heat. Put it simply: constantly swiping the Control Center can drain as much power as playing a full 3D game on your phone.(You're welcome to try it yourself if you want, to see if your phone would heat up fast.) Low Power Mode (LPM) consistently caps those spikes near ~5W, improving practical battery life (and I'll share the real world results with you). Without LPM, from 100% → ~19–20%, I got only ~5h46m–6h30m SOT on 17PM. But with LPM on, I got 6h SOT with still 60% battery remaining, and 10h SOT from 100% → ~19–20% on 17PM. My take: parts of iOS 26’s UI (“Liquid Glass”) are power-hungry; 17PM thermals just hide it better vs 15PM. For example, scrolling down Control Center would get 8w~9w. With "Reduce Transparency" On, it spikes up to 14W. Doing Screen Recording itself with HDR format is getting 5w~6w now. (That means idling, If you started scrolling through Homepage it would go up to 9w~11w.) Using Apple Maps and starting the navigation would get peak 8w~9w in 1~2 sec. Recording Videos in 4K30 HDR would get around continuously 6W. Taking Screenshot(HDR) would get peak 7w~ crazy 17w _ / Edit: I really appreciate that my Deep Dive Review got so much attention, but just to be clear, we still need to make sure Apple hears this so they can fix the real problems. If you’re on the beta OS, please don’t forget to send them Feedback. submitted by /u/MarionberryDear6170 to r/apple [link] [comments]

iPhone 15 pro max recycled and now in China with personal data?
Hello, I had a IPhone 15 pro max that got ran over by a truck, went ahead and got a 16 and cleared that phone remotely, or so I thought. I recycled the phone at ecoATM. A few months later I see these text messages and see the phone is in China. What should I do? Is this legit? What are the next steps in protecting my privacy and information? Ming-Chi Kuo survey: Apple’s iPhone 16 series, particularly the Pro models, seems to be facing significant challenges in capturing consumer interest, with potential shifts in consumer loyalty towards Android and older iPhone models. (Link & AI analysis)
The weekly poll results and early pre-order data suggest that Apple's launch of the iPhone 16 series, particularly the Pro models, is off to a rocky start. Despite some positive aspects of the new models, several factors seem to be contributing to consumer hesitation and a shift in interest toward alternatives. Key Points from the Poll: Pro Models Struggling: The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models are underperforming in pre-orders, which is surprising given the historical popularity of Pro models. A significant portion of voters are either moving to Android or opting for older iPhone generations, indicating that the new features and upgrades may not be compelling enough. Size and Display Concerns: The iPhone 16 Pro Max at 6.9" is considered too large by 15% of voters. Although it offers advanced features, the sheer size is a deterrent for many. On the other hand, the iPhone 16 Pro with its 6.3" display seems to have hit the right spot in terms of size, but still, many users aren't interested, likely due to other factors like the incremental nature of the upgrades. Display Refresh Rate: A critical point of contention is that the standard iPhone 16 models still feature 60Hz displays, which are increasingly viewed as outdated when even budget Android phones offer 120Hz. This could be contributing to the lack of enthusiasm for the vanilla models. Shift to Alternatives: A striking finding is that nearly half of the poll participants are considering a move to Android, reflecting a broader dissatisfaction with the new iPhone models. This could signal that competitors are offering more attractive or innovative options at similar or lower price points. Confusion Around the iPhone 16 Plus: Although the iPhone 16 Plus saw a significant increase in pre-orders (48% higher than the 15 Plus), its overall appeal remains low. The lack of substantial upgrades beyond new side buttons has left consumers unsure about its value proposition. Positive Reception of the iPhone 16: The base iPhone 16 model garnered a decent positive vote (15.1%) and has the highest percentage of people who might purchase after reading reviews. This suggests that while it’s not a runaway hit, there is cautious optimism around this model, especially among those who may not need or want the advanced features of the Pro models. Analysis: Apple's Misstep: The data implies that Apple may have overestimated consumer interest in the iPhone 16 Pro Max, particularly in its size and the incremental upgrades it offers. The company's strategy of pushing larger devices and modestly improving existing features seems to have missed the mark with many users. Consumer Preferences: There is a growing demand for more practical, innovative features that are not solely tied to device size or slight performance boosts. The strong inclination toward Android alternatives suggests that Apple might need to rethink its approach, especially if it wants to maintain its dominance in the premium smartphone market. Future Implications: As the holiday season approaches and Apple Intelligence is fully rolled out, there might be a turnaround in sales. However, the early lukewarm reception could indicate a larger trend of consumers seeking more value-driven or feature-rich alternatives, potentially affecting Apple's market share in the long run. submitted by /u/Ga88y7 to r/apple [link] [comments]

Difference between an iPhone 3GS and IPhone 15 Pro Max
submitted by /u/Drewsilvaa to r/mildlyinteresting [link] [comments]
r/mildlyinteresting Drewsilvaa Nov 30, 2023
Temperature of my iPhone 15 Pro Max while on the phone for 5 mins.
So I have noticed with my phone that it gets particularly hot only when I am on a phone call. I’ve heard reports of people having abnormally hot iPhone, 15 pros but no one documenting the temperature so I’ll just leave this here. It gets so hot that I’m afraid to touch it and it hurts my leg in my pocket. I’ve heard very supports of it being hot while charging or on social media but that’s not the case of me, my phone is actually cool to the touch when browsing and only slightly warm all charging. After five minutes of being on the phone my phone is piping hot so I took it to Work and I decided to catch just how hot it was on camera. Here is the back of my phone which is pretty difficult to get a reading on because it’s so light and reflective, but it reaches 108°F. I’ve done a full re-reset and restore even tried making a phone call before I restore from my back up and it’s the same thing every time. I’m taking it into the genius bar tomorrow and see what they say but I don’t hold much hope. submitted by /u/refused9150 to r/iphone [link] [comments]
