I pay for AppleCare and everything and asked Apple for an express replacement as I can’t really make it to the store before my next flight on Friday, and they’re refusing without charging me $100…. Is this not a massive safety violation? Like genuinely so confused here. Apple support said this is normal and refuse to replace the phone, even said my battery is fine and don’t recommend a replacement battery when they ran the diagnostic.. UPDATE: After all these comments, I decided to call back and ask for a supervisor. Live on the call. I was inspecting my phone and noticed the back adhesive was literally seeping through the cracks of the phone. There is a picture of this in the comments, can’t update the post pictures. Uploaded the pictures to the case and the manager took a look and also I expressed that this felt like a huge safety problem and she agreed and decided to replace the phone for free. Winner: Pitaka Ultra-Slim 1500D Aramid Fiber Case Why: This case might not offer the best drop protection, but I did drop it from 3 feet onto concrete and other than a small chip in the case, the phone was fine. It’s ultra light, ultra slim, feels good resting against the pinky finger, and feels good to hold. Other cases Magbak Elite: Excellent case! Just a little too “bulky” and square for my liking. It’s kind of heavy. The “pinky pillow” though is a real winner for comfort and I’m shocked that more cases don’t use this. The kickstand is strong and concealed well. Excellent drop protection. Benks Air Armor: Another great Kevlar / aramid fiber case similar to Pitaka but the Benks Air Armor case to me is just a slight step below Pitaka in terms of ergonomics and comfort in the hand. It’s also a bastard to get off the phone. Other than that, excellent case, and usually $20 cheaper than Pitaka. Tineeowl: The material and grip on this case is excellent but it’s so thick and bulky, which is a huge no-go for me. Seems like it would offer great drop protection, and has a great feel in the hand, but thick bulky cases to me just don’t cut it. Spigen ThinFit: I actually really like this case. This is the probably the safest option for a thin case with great drop protection. This case feels great in the hand, it’s slim, it’s got strong magnets, feels pretty comfortable in the hand and on the pinky finger. It’s also only like $20. It’s a little boring visually but it’s definitely in the top 3 rotation. Nudient Thin Case: I have no clue what the hype is about. I read everywhere online that this thin case was the best of the best, great grip, great feel, super thin and light. This case felt super cheap and flimsy. I think it’s all social media marketing and influencers with Nudient. The bottom of the case felt sharp. This feels like a case you would pay $5 or $10 for at five below. Nowhere near the quality of many of the other thin cases I’ve mentioned here. Rebel Gen7: This one is so interesting. I actually really like the feel and shape of this case. It’s kind of rounded in the right areas which give it a unique feel in the hand, and the pinky / charge port isn’t as sharp as I was expecting it to be. It’s actually very comfortable to hold, and I’m sure it offers amazing drop protection. The only issue I have with this case is that’s it’s thick and bulky, which again, is a no-go for me. EvoCheck Case: I love the material of this case. It’s like a soft plastic rubber. If the charge port / pinky finger area wasn’t so hard and uncomfortable on this case, it would probably be my daily. However, it’s really uncomfortable and this case also adds some height to the phone’s size. Spigen LiquidAir: A great, affordable case, however, I don’t believe it’s any thinner or lighter than the Spigen ThinFit case, which in my opinion is a much more comfortable and durable case when comparing the two. Torras Air Case with Kickstand: Very cool case! Actually feels very light and thin on the phone, the kickstand is very strong. It leaves the sides exposed which to me offers good ergonomics and grip. My only gripe is the bottom of the phone case which feels sharp on the pinky finger. Ringke Onyx: amazing phone case! Great grip, great feel, thin and light with great drop protection… but again, my only gripe… the charging port / pinky finger resting area is super sharp and hard. The Ultimate Phone Case IMO… Create a thin case like the Pitaka Pro case which offers full 360 degree drop protection, is still ultra thin, made with Aramid Fiber, has great feel in the hand or a case like the Ringke Onyx which has great grip, is thin and offers excellent drop protection… but add a pinky pillow like what Magbak Elite has on their case… Conceal a small kickstand that doesn’t add bulk to the phone similar to the kickstand on the Magbak elite or Torras air. And you have the ultimate phone case. Truthfully if Magbak elite rounded their case corners and slimmed the case down, and kept everything else the same, it would be the best case on the market. Let me start of by saying that I'm not a fanboy of any particular brand. I switch phones regularly and also like to switch between iOS and Android. For the last year Ive been using an iPhone 16 Pro and had no issues with it whatsoever. The camera was good as always. The battery life however did disappoint me. Then I got the urge to switch to Android again and bought the Pixel 10 Pro. But wow, the battery life of that phone was horrendous. I sent it back after 1 week. I liked the Google OS and the camera's, but the battery life was a huge disappointment. I switched back to the 16 Pro and was considering getting the 17 Pro. Then the OnePlus 15 came out and immediately I was hooked on the looks. I did my research and concluded that I was okay with the camera being maybe a little bit worse than other flagship competitors. I was particularly intrigued by the RAM size, the CPU and the storage space. And so I got my first OnePlus phone ever. After daily driving it for 2 months, I can say that this is one of the best phones Ive ever owned. And I had a lot. Things In like the most about this phone: The design. I have the black version and I think it looks absolutely stunning. I like the materials used and it feels genuinely good in my hands. Speed. This phone is fast. Really fast. Switching between apps, doing intensive work, playing demanding games, its all easy for this phone. Really impressed. The OS. Maybe I will get hate for this, but I really like the design of the OS and the glass effects. Yes it looks like iOS, but who cares. As a person that uses both, this OS feels as nice or even better than what I had in my iPhone. Sound quality and screen. Playing music and watching videos is a joy in the phone. No complaints here. The screen is crisps and smooth. Fingerprint scanner. Blazing fast. Unlocks instantly. BATTERY LIFE AND CHARGE SPEED. I was shocked by the battery performance. Ive never had a phone that lasted this long. Two days, sometimes three. Thats crazy. And the charging speed is insane too. I used to charge my phones when I went to bed. Now I do it when I drink my morning coffee before going off to work. 20 minutes and Im good to go. Now lets about the cameras. My honest opinion? They are good. When I was doing my research before buying, I already had low expectations. But honestly, it exceeded my expections and I find them genuinely good. I am satisfied with the shots and videos. I got two kids that are my joy in life and I take a lot of pictures and videos of them and Ive never thought "wow this quality is shit" or "I dont like this photo". Now am I saying that the cameras are perfect? No, I liked the way my iPhone took videos better. Just more smooth. But that doesnt mean the video quality on this phone is bad. Its just okay and enough for my use case. Im no vlogger or YouTuber, so thats fine. When I compare the photos I took on my iPhone, my Pixel 9 Pro (returned the 10 but still have the 9) and my S24Ultra, honestly, there is not much difference between the photos in my eyes. Im no expert. But I like the portraits on my pixel 9 Pro the most. Just stands out. The selfie camera is good. Better then on my Pixel 9 Pro and about the same as my S24. Ultra. Side note, the IR remote app is amazing. And dont let the reviews online get in your head. Just do your own unbiased research. Hello! I just want to share my experience with you all from buying in Shopee Apple Flagship Store and how it went as a crazy nightmare for me and my friends since we received an old powerbank instead of a brand new iPhone 16. December 4: We ordered from Apple Flagship Store in Shopee since may vouchers and discounted ‘yung price ng iPhone 16 since December nga and maraming sale sa platform. We bought this iPhone 16 Ultramarine worth 39k+ and bought using SPayLater. December 7: After almost two days of waiting, dumating ‘yung parcel and my friend received it. Upon receiving the item, medyo sus na siya na bakit magaan ‘yung box, but nothing has been altered since fully sealed talaga ‘yung box and all. I advised her to film an unboxing video and to our surprise, we received an old-ass black powerbank na nakabalot sa tape instead of the iPhone that we bought. I told her not to click “Order Received” muna para ma-return namin since we’re still shocked of what happened. After that, my friend texted the driver that brought the parcel sa condo niya and told him na ganun nga ang nangyari so the driver was also worried since ganon nga but he did not accept muna ‘yung parcel and waited for Shopee to investigate the case. December 8 onwards: We reported the case sa Shopee and provided strong evidences regarding the claim since super strong naman ng video proof namin na wala talagang ginalaw sa box at all before my friend received it. We continuously followed up the case and super tagal that we also resorted to DTI (based sa same cases na nababasa ko here on Reddit). We patiently waited naman but thank God hindi siya nabawas sa SPayLater balance ng friend ko since the investigation is still ongoing. January 5 (Today): We have refunded the full amount sa SpayLater ng friend ko and we are so glad that they responded swiftly. Kudos din sa kanilang chat support that never fails to answer what the status of the escalation lalo na’t hindi naman kakaunting halaga ‘yung pinag-uusapan dito. But the disappointing part is, we have received a message from the driver who delivered the parcel that their account was suspended since December 20 until now. Hindi sila makapag-work because of that and we’re also sad about what happened regarding the investigation. Do you guys think na dapat ba mangyari talaga ‘yun sa mga delivery rider na na-suspend ‘yung account nila since sila ‘yung last touch ng item? Though we believe na wala talaga silang kinalaman at all. We just wish na sana wala nang maapektuhan na innocent delivery riders like them sa ganitong sitwasyon and Shopee should still give them enough support since wala nga silang trabaho diring those period. Dapat sa mga hub sila unang nag-imbestiga because probably there’s a high chance na doon nagaganap ‘yung mga inside job. I just want to raise awareness to all the buyers out there! Kung kaya sa physical store na lang bumili, please do it. ‘Wag na i-risk lalo na’t uso talaga ang nakawan ngayon. Makonsensya sana ‘yung nagnakaw non dahil may kalulugaran talaga siya sa impyerno.
