Iphone 16e

Hey everyone! I have an iPhone 11 for a few years now, but the battery is completely broken, and with the latest updates on the OS the phone got very slow and it has been running on fumes. So I am now thinking of getting a new iPhone: nothing fancy tho, I just need something with a really good battery, a nice camera for my day to day photos and trips (nothing professional, but with nice colors and resolution), and a phone with an very solid performance. Also, I don’t feel like spending a ton of money on the latest models, since my use for the phone is basically on my sporadic trips, to speak to my friends and wife, and have some nice good quality photos/videos as memories. I saw the iPhone 16e has an A18 chip, which seems really powerful and in line with the latest models, and the reviews I have seen regarding the battery, as well as the other posts here, are all pretty positive and overall happy with the relation between performance/battery life. The only thing I can’t really find is some consensus on the camera quality, and that’s delaying my decision a bit: - for the people who have it: what do you guys think regarding this phone’s camera? - is the photo quality an improvement from the previous models? - do you miss the wide angle function much? - is the zoom any good? - are the colors better than the iPhone 11/12? I was planning to get the 15, since it’s quite affordable now and my planned usage for it would be very little, so it would be a nice phone to have, but the camera reviews are god awful, unfortunately, so the iPhone 16e seems a really good option! I got this phone about a year ago now , and my experience has been kind of awful with it . I absolutely hate the camera and video quality and it is so insanely slow? For example when unlocking my phone , i have to click the numbers multiple times for it to register .. The photos i take are also just terrible quality , the zoom is absolutely terrible and it becomes so pixelated , i swear my old phones generations ago had better quality . The photos also glitch out often and i have to click multiple times for it to properly take one photo. I also just am fed up with the iphone photo editing features , they are just so mid? I hate the look of the newer glass update … This thing honestly just pisses me off everyday! I’m looking for suggestion on what kind of new phone i should be looking into ? Something with quality camera and photo editing but isn’t too expensive , and also isn’t slow and ugly as shit ? - No magsafe, I can't care less about it as I don't even use magsafe on my iphone 17 pro max - 128GB storage, this is my backup phone so 128GB is enough, most of my pictures and videos are already backed up to my NAS - Screen notch, sounds antiquate at first but when I actually use it I don't find it to bother me that much - Performance, everything is so much smoother than my previous phone (Oppo reno10 5G), there's zero lag in everyday use. I love it - Camera quality, it's surprisingly good, much better quality than the main camera on my Oppo reno10 5G. In fact I think I prefer the images from the 16e than the 17 pro max since the 17 pro max's HDR effect is so heavy it makes every picture have little contrast. Having no zoom or ultrawide is quite limiting but when I need zoom I'd use my iphone 17 pro max. If I need to shoot serious photos / videos I'd use my DSLR / camcorder instead - Wifi and cellular signals, it's identical to my 17 pro max I bought it refurbished for 7 million VND (266 USD), I think it's pretty good for what it is. I don't get why people hate it so much (especially when they never used it).
