I received my iPhone 17 about four days ago. Coming from an iPhone 13 mini and a Pixel Fold (2023), I am not super impressed with it. The cameras aren't much improved over the 13 mini—with the exception of the front-facing camera. My Pixel Fold arguably takes better stills 50% of the time compared to the 17. Though, in video it absolutely destroys it. Not my biggest gripe as smartphone cameras have been mostly good in the last 4-5 years. The screen is nice and the extra brightness is appreciated, not a massive difference over the 13 mini but noticeable enough to be appreciated. People often forget that nits is a logarithmic measurement. My biggest gripe pertains to rule number 4 of this subreddit and can be seen in the mega-thread. Can't post it here. I am debating returning this phone due to the issues raised above and also the cost of the device. €979 feels like a lot and especially given the [rule 4] performance to me just feels like robbery. I recently got my Iphone 17, like three or four months ago. The first month eas absolutely fine but then it started doing random bugs like hanging up mid call, keyboard being slow, the sound going off while my phone was on mute, my siri not responding in the slightest and now my face id wont work as well. It makes me so mad because this is the first iphone i have since i just started working and could afford it myself. I thought it would be a great treat for myself but im genuinely so pissed at this phone that I miss my old phone which was a xiaomi 10 lite. I dont even think reselling would be worth it because pretty much everyone I know has been complaining about this phone. I have recently bought an iPhone 17 base version. LL/A (A3258) version. eSIM only. Phone looks authentic, speakers, cameras, display even iOS 26.4.2 shows up. It came with iOS 26.3. Manufactured in February 2026, first use in April 2026. My problem is that Apple Care expiration details won't showing up anywhere, settings, support app. It just shows you're phone is covered for : 1. Hardware service, 2. Phone support. But when I enter the serial number on apple website it shows purchased on 17th March. Even though I bought it on 25th April. I bought this device from Sri lankan seller. I used battery report shortcut and looks like phone never been used before. But I'm genuinely worried because if this is a stolen device or something like that, because I saw a post saying that these types of phone are bought with some 2 year plan. I don't wanna locked out if the seller isn't paying it. Please help me this is my first apple device, if you know what's happening. i have a iphone 11 that i bought brand new around 2yrs ago, but the model is pretty old itself and im thinking of upgrading to a 17, not the pro though as its a little too expensive for me. my battery health currently is at 85 but it drops really quickly and lags often. my worry is that ill regret buying it now, as a new jphone 18 would be released i think around 6 months or during fall and it might drop specs. anyways thanks for reading, i do look forward for advice edit: i actually bought it on my birthday (march 19) and its the best decision i ever made… the battery lasts so long, even an entire day and thats coming from someone who scrolls on social media all day also it charges super fast… my 11 took so long to revive back after it died.. this phone took around 5 mins which is insane.. +the base storage itself is so enough!!! its been around 2 months (may 19) and this thread is still getting replies surprisingly and if u have the same question i think its super worth it my battery cycle count in 2 months is 81 idk if thats alot i think it is but my health is still 100% the screen response is so smooth and fast because its 120hz…. its such a good phone especially its a base model and not a pro !!! Coming from an iPhone 11 that I used for almost 6 years, the iPhone 17 feels like a huge upgrade. The display alone is a 10/10 upgrade — everything feels insanely smooth and fluid, and apps load instantly. The cameras are really solid, especially the 2x optical zoom, which has been super sharp and reliable. Speakers are top-notch too — noticeably punchier with more bass than my 11. Battery life is decent. With around 6–7 hours of screen-on time, I usually end the day with about 30% left from an 80% charge. The only downgrade for me was the unboxing experience. My iPhone 11 box felt huge and exciting, while the 17’s box is tiny and minimal with basically just the phone. I've had the iPhone 17 for a bit over a month. I went from a 16 pro to this. Occasionally I miss the telephoto but other than that it's perfect. Battery is great, lasts me all day. I always set a charge limit of 90% then when I get to work I charge it to 100% then I don't need to worry about it for the rest of the day. Easily 8 hours SOT. Love the Sage colour. Went with the Liquid air case from Sipgen. Great look, feel and grip. Brilliant case. I originally posted that my Orange IPhone 17 Pro Max turned Rose gold and I saw comments that said it was fake, I used photoshop, etc. So to update, the phone has turned a more solid Rose Gold color, and I could not imagine a sadder existence than photoshopping IPhone pics.
