I want a speaker that I can take camping, to the beach, the park and that I can throw in a backpack or tote bag as I’ll be walking or biking around a lot with it. For context, I’ll be using this speaker at university for 16-18 hours a day inside/outside as I’m an orientation leader. Is the pink going to discolor quickly from dirt/grime? I’m not gonna lie I’m fuckin blown away by this thing. I’m used to shitty $50 speakers but my coworker had a charge 5 at work and it sounded so good I went out and picked up a charge 6. The bass sounds great and I couldn’t even put it over 3/4 of the way up in volume because it was so loud in my house. I’m actually blown away. This is the best one i was able to make. For my ears this sounds miles better then the signature mode to a point the stock eq sounds like the speaker is broken. i tried one out previously decided to return it i didnt think it was an upgrade initially i started to feel underwhelmed with the charge 5 so the 6 was on sale and decided to give it another try after eq adjusting the eq i can definitely say its worth the upgrade 100% its better in every way after adjusting, the bass is deeper fuller punchier it holds better dynamics than the 5 max volume the 6 sounds way better i will say the 5 holds a bit better dynamics at max volume but im not maxing out either one all the time this is my end game for BT speakers now submitted by /u/bigdoinks_ to r/Bluetooth_Speakers [link] [comments]

Thanks for all people who responded before. i just tried JBL Flip 7 and i am wowed. Sound is full and vocals are not drowned out by bass. I like this more than Soundcore Motion 300 which has vocal clarity but it is thinner and not as full. Charge 6 is full but more bass heavy and drowns out vocals. chatgpt confirms this. Looks like I am keeping Flip 7 Flip 7 = cohesive/full + vocals remain present Charge 6 = fuller/bigger but vocals recessed Motion 300 = vocals very clear but less body/fullness This is actually a classic speaker tuning tradeoff. The Motion 300 can impress quickly with: stereo imaging crispness clarity But over time some listeners perceive it as: thinner less engaging less physically immersive especially compared to JBL’s warmer fuller presentation. For Charge 6 too much bass/lower-mid energy can: mask vocals reduce clarity collapse separation especially in small portable speakers where everything shares limited space and power. I am trying to decide which to keep - Soundcore Motion 300 vs JBL Charge 6. I am not audiofile. They both sound really great. JBL sounds louder and fuller with more bass. Motion 300 is less loud but i can turn up volume and it sounds wider spacious and i feel vocals are clearer have more clarity when it is lying down, not drowned out by the bass. A couple of days ago I updated the firmware of my JBL Charge 6 to version 3.0.7.1 and the sound got worse; it has less volume and the bass is much weaker. It no longer has that strong and powerful quality it used to have with this speaker. Hello good people. My Jbl Xtreme finally died and I've been looking for a nice lil BT speaker for a bit and decided on the Jbl Charge 6. Now, don't get me wrong, it's a great speaker for what it is, but... I find it a little lacking. I took a leap of faith on buying a mono speaker and, it's not that it's bad, but I just want a stereo speaker. I also think that the bass, albeit there and not at all bad, is also just lacking a bit. Much better when the speaker is in a corner though! I think the Charge 6 is great for what it is and what it can do, but I'm looking for something a bit more. Something between a Jbl Charge 6 and the (modern) Xtreme maybe. I don't have much experience with other BT speaker brands, but I'm absolutely open to other brands. One thing I don't want is cheap(er) brands that try to offer the same as other brands, but at a cheaper price. They always come with caveats. What'd I'd like; * Something in size between the Charge 6 and Xtreme * Something with a bit more bass than the Charge 6. Around 20-30% more would be fine, I think? I listen to a lot of different music, but I'd rather tune down the bass in an EQ when listening to something like metal or rock VS trance/edm, than just not have the bass. * I'd like it to be a stereo speaker. That will mean it's bigger and more expensive, but that is fine by me. If it isn't really bigger than the Xtreme then that's fine. * I love the battery life of the Charge 6. It really does last a long time, probably it's best quality. I take speakers to festivals and events, which means going days or a week+ with no power. I am well aware that a bigger and more powerful speaker will not last the (advertised) 28h that the Charge 6 would, but something that doesn't die after like 8 hours would be great. * Hopefully it's in the "up to 400USD" range. I live in northern Europe though, so availability varies. Please no brands only sold in America. I do not want to import. Sorry for the wall of text, but I hope someone has some good recommendations. What’s yalls opinion on this speaker? Me personally I think it’s… AMAZING!!! I love it so much! The AI equalizer works like a charm, battery is pretty damn good, sound quality is top notch it’s a damn good speaker over all. I have one minor issues though.
