This is the first year I have been smart enough to use Bluetooth, I guess you call them headphones, cover your ears. I think they are JBL, 30 bucks from Sam's club. Do a great job on loud tractors, can hear my phone and noise protection. Two man operation here, now can keep in contact with my Nephew I farm with, really handy if help needed. Hi everyone, came here in search of help. Not sure what the problem is exactly, but my left earbud started not working earlier today and I'm not sure why. The charging pins seem straight and they and the contacts on the bud are clean. The issue is probably with the bud itself as the LEDs on the case do turn on as normal when I take it out of it or put it back in. I've gone through every setting and tutorial but nothing has worked. When I connect my earbuds to my laptop they sound perfect, but when I connect to my phone they sound really quiet. I've looked and my phone has volume limit settings, I've downloaded the JBL headphones app and it's the same thing. I’ve been using JBL headphones for running for many years. But all headphones - or rather, their cases - have one major problem: they don’t indicate whether BOTH earbuds are charging or not. Usually, there’s just a single LED or indicator strip that shows whether they’re charging or not. Left: 99%, Right 10% But if one earbud isn’t inserted properly, often only a single earbud charges. It’s happened to me so many times that I start running and one earbud is 100% charged, while the other is only at 10% with the message “Low battery.” My current and my older JBL cases I’ve experienced this with the JBL Reflect, JBL Reflect 2 Pro, and also with my current JBL Reflect AERO. Are both charging? Only visible in the app. Suggested change: Upgrade the design of case to include separate indicators for each earbud so it’s clearly visible that both are charging. Currently, you can only check this with some effort via your smartphone. Looking for some advice on new earbuds. I currently have the Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro, but I’m thinking of returning them. They get loud and sound clearish, but the bass just isn’t hitting how I expected. I have played with the apps EQ and also tried wavelet. Still not good bass. Also the battery is depleting a lot fast on my left bud compared to the right which even the Soundcore warranty team have confirmed isn't right as the right bud is the master. I bought them new on amazon for £89.99. I’m using a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and I’m looking for earbuds with proper subwoofer-style bass, but still good clarity and crisp treble. I’ve narrowed it down mainly to: JBL Tour Pro 3 Denon PerL Pro For people who have tried either, which would you choose for bass, loudness, and overall sound quality on Android/Samsung? Every now and often people ask for the "best" earbuds on here. There isn't a single best pair, BUT there are definitely some earbuds which you could consider the best value. I'm a huge sound enthusiast myself, so I decided to make a no-bullshit tier list with details about each. Oh also, I wrote this entirely myself! No SlopGPT used or anything. I've tried a lot of those over the years, so this post is mostly my personal opinion!! Also note that this tier list is based on VALUE aka bang for the buck. S Tier - best bang for the buck $199 - Apple AirPods Pro 3 are literally the best noise cancelling earbuds ever measured. If you don't have an iPhone, you'll miss out on a lot of their features, so keep that in mind. $79 - OnePlus Buds 4 - doesn't do anything amazing but does everything VERY well, which is honestly more useful day-to-day. $75 - The EarFun Air Pro 4+ are a VERY solid option for just $75. Long battery and sounds like something twice the price. Probably the most loved earbuds on this sub and for a reason lol. $49 - CMF Buds Pro 2 - there's a little dial on the case that controls volume and ANC and it's way more useful than it sounds. Great bass, good price, fun to use. A Tier - easy to recommend $249 - The Technics EAH-AZ100 are one of the best sounding earbuds i've come across, and the 10+ hour battery wipes the floor with every other flagship. if you care about music more than anything else, just get these. $79 - Soundcore Liberty 4 NC - the noise cancelling on these is insane for the price. They often go on sales so you can get them for even cheaper. $77 - Nothing Ear (2024) - sounds really clean and detailed if you're into that - it's not very bass-heavy though. $30 - JBL Vibe Beam - cheap, works, doesn't try to be anything it's not. Grab these if you just need something wireless and don't care about EQ or features. B Tier - good, but kinda expensive $298 - Sony WF-1000XM6 - the best do-everything earbuds if you're on Android - premium sound and tons of settings to mess with. They're quite expensive though. $249 - Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 - one of the best premium choices for any kind of sports or working out. Sound doesn't match price, but they won't fall off your ears. A cheaper alternative is the Soundcore Aerofit. C Tier - situational $249 - Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 - those have some Sennheiser-specific problems if I remember correctly, only worth it if you actually notice the difference between good and great audio. $299 - Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) - 6 hours of battery at this price is rough, and the sound is very bass-heavy which isn't for everyone. --- I'm mostly using the Technics nowadays though. I boycott Sony & JBL so those are not options. I have had horrible luck with finding working earbuds. I battled with JBL's for years; they had same issues over and over again, with charging issues, turning off issues, right earbud breaking and so on. I had to switch them to a new pair (thankfully with my receipt) about 14 times before I gave up and admitted the brand has just gone down and produces wishful thinking of working earbuds, rather than the actual product. Somehow Sony managed to dig itself even deeper. The past four months I used WF-C710N buds, which have been the worst earbuds I have ever used. These are completely useless and after four months, broke down completely. I have been using Jabra Elite 8's now and I really like these. I like the button rather than the finger touch effect, the bass is great, theyre durable and everything just works. There's no "do this a little different so they work fine", its for once a product that works without quirks. I need to return them to their rightful owner, but I would love to find earbuds like these. Do you happen to have any recommendations of earbuds that are somewhat similar? TLDR; JBL Tour Pro 3 earbuds are broken after less than a month of use and there seems to be no solution. Hey everyone, making this so you don’t make the same mistake I did in purchasing the new Tour Pro 3 wireless earbuds. I’ve never done a negative review on anything but i’m extremely frustrated with these expensive earbuds that I haven’t even had for a month. Here’s why: All started about a week ago, I had my earbuds, that had previously had no problems, in my bag. I was at a movie and a high pitched noise started coming from the earbuds (extremely loud, actually thought it was a part of the movie for an embarrassing amount of time). After looking up the problem online that night, it seems to be a somewhat regular issue with JBL products, something to do with the charging connection. I also could not get the earbuds to connect to bluetooth after this. Either way, I did a factory reset on the earbuds and they seemed to be fine again. The next day, I went to use the earbuds again, and both the left and right one were dead, even after sitting in the charging case all night, and the case still had about 40% battery. I took them out and placed them back, and they began to charge. Later that night, only briefly, they made the noise again. I also started noticing they would not detect when I took them out of my ears and placed them in the case, my music would keep playing until i manually disconnected the bluetooth pairing. These problems persisted throughout the week, I contacted JBL and they gave me instructions on how to clean the charging ports, using rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab. They also told me to use a pencil, both the graphite and eraser, to fix the charging problem. This did not help, and still have no idea what I was supposed to do for the bluetooth problems. Another thing I stated to notice is unless the case was connected to a charger, the earbuds wouldn’t fully charge. They would get to about 60%, then die, then I’d have to readjust, and they would get back to about 60%. Today, after using the earbuds earlier, I went to leave for work, and the right earbud has completely stopped working. It won’t connect to bluetooth, It won’t charge, it’s useless… that is unless you put it in the case and want a little device making the noise a smoke alarm gives off when it runs out of battery. So I came here to write this, these are expensive earbuds, JBL support has been less than helpful, although some of this is because I purchased the earbuds in a different country than the one that I reside (understandable but still frustrating). I also attached a video of the earbuds making the noise, just in case anyone was curious. Thanks for reading, hopefully I’m saving someone some money and a headache, please don’t buy these earbuds. Also, I’d like to add that I used Airpod Pro 2’s since 2022 and never experienced any problems, unfortunately they were stolen from me and that’s the only reason for purchasing the Tour Pros.
