JBL Announces BandBox Solo and Trio Bluetooth Speakers with Integrated AI Stem Separation for Musicians
JBL has unveiled its new BandBox Solo and Trio, a pair of portable Bluetooth speakers designed specifically for musicians. The standout feature is the onboard EDGE AI, which provides real-time stem separation directly within the speaker. This allows users to stream music via Bluetooth and instantly mute or adjust the volume of vocals, guitars, and rhythm tracks, effectively creating custom "minus-one" tracks for practice or live accompaniment without the need for external DAW software. Beyond the AI capabilities, both models serve as robust guitar amplifiers. The units come equipped with various amp simulators and effects, controllable via the JBL ONE app, which has already earned an iF Gold Award for its intuitive design. The Solo offers a compact 18W output, while the larger Trio provides a 135W output with a 4-channel mixer, making it suitable for small live gigs and sessions. JBL Launches BandBox Solo and Trio AI-Powered Guitar Amp Bluetooth Speakers
JBL has announced the upcoming Japanese launch of its new BandBox series, featuring the BandBox Solo and BandBox Trio. These unique units function as both guitar amplifiers and Bluetooth speakers, utilizing onboard AI to perform real-time stem separation. This allows users to isolate vocals, instruments, and rhythm parts from any track, essentially turning any song into a minus-one backing track for practice or live play. The BandBox Solo is a compact, portable model aimed at daily practice, while the BandBox Trio offers higher output and a 4-channel mixer designed for band sessions and small performances. Both models integrate with the JBL One app for effects and sound management, and they will be available via crowdfunding on GREEN FUNDING starting May 13th. Denon vs. JBL receiver w/ JBL speakers?
Looking for a little advice - I'm updating my (comparatively) budget home theater, which is currently a 3.1 setup (Paradigm titans and center, with an Onkyo TX-SR444) to a 5.1 setup, for now. I've been able to grab some JBL Stage2 speakers for a solid price (240b pair for $140, 245C for $220, etc) and I've been looking to upgrade the AVR if needed. I've reas the new JBL receivers are designed to work very well with their speakers, but it seems the general census is to get a Denon. I know both have different ways to dial in the speakers, so is there any advance to grabbing a JBL over a Denon because of the speakers, or not really? submitted by /u/braingrenade to r/hometheater [link] [comments]

JBL has officially unveiled the updated versions of its iconic portable speakers, the Xtreme 5 and Go 5. Both models retain the brand's signature sound quality while introducing a fresh design complete with dynamic edge lighting to elevate any party atmosphere. Best PC speaker substitute for JBL Charge 5?
Hi everyone, I want to get some PC speakers to upgrade my setup. Right now, I am using a JBL Charge 5 but I want to get some designated PC (2,0/2,1) speakers, because I use my JBL on the road aswell, and I don’t like the hassle of the bluetooth connection switching and it having a battery that needs charging every once in a while. My budget is around €50-€120. I am perfectly happy with the JBL sound quality, so if there is something with the same quality for €60, that will have my preference instead of a better set for €120. My list right now contains of: - Creative Pebble V3 or V2.1 - Logitech Z407 - Logitech Z533 - Logitech Z333 - Edifier M60 - Edifier MR4 - Edifier R1280DB Please advice me on the best options, thank you for now and have a nice day :) submitted by /u/MrKeyblade to r/audio [link] [comments]

Guide on how to identify fake JBL speakers
I've noticed that people often ask on this subreddit whether a certain JBL speaker is original or fake, which seems to be the brand with the most counterfeit copies. So, I decided to create a helpful post for those who have doubts and want to check and compare in order to identify if a speaker is authentic, using the information here. To verify these visual differences, simply search Google for images of the speaker model you're interested in or planning to buy, and compare the images while looking for the characteristics I’ll outline below. Logo: The JBL logo is one of the easiest and quickest ways to identify a fake speaker because it has very noticeable differences. Color: The edge of the logo is always a dark red color (regardless of the color of the speaker), whereas fake logos may not have any edge at all (since they’re often stickers) or the edge may be the same color as the rest of the speaker. (Photos 1 and 2) Material and Texture: The original logo is slightly raised from the speaker body and made of metal, giving it a rough feel. In fake models, the logo tends to be flatter and smoother, often made of plastic or rubber. (Photo 3) Size: On larger speakers especially, the fake logo is often noticeably smaller than the original and disproportionate to the speaker’s size. (Photo 1) Buttons: Another easy feature to identify is the buttons, as on fake speakers, the button symbols are often different from the original ones. Example: As seen in Photo 1, the left button (PartyBoost button) is supposed to have an infinity symbol, but on the fake, it displays an "M." The button next to the power button should show the Bluetooth symbol but instead shows a symbol similar to an infinity symbol with triangles. The power button is also different: the original has a classic power icon, while the fake shows a circle with a line in the middle. Passive Radiators: The passive radiators are the two movable circles on either side of JBL speakers, and they also have some distinct differences. Alignment: In authentic speakers, the radiators are always aligned horizontally (with a downward exclamation mark on modern models or the JBL logo on older models). On fakes, they often appear misaligned or even uneven with each other. (Photo 4) Reflections: On modern JBL speakers, the downward exclamation mark on the radiator has a metallic, textured reflection, while the rest of the radiator is textured plastic. On fake models, the exclamation mark may also be plastic, or the radiator may have a completely different design. (Photo 5) Borders: the outside borders of the radiators are made of rubber in original JBL speakers, while on fakes, it is made of plastic. Body: Basic construction quality differences can also reveal a fake speaker. Weight: This can be tricky without a reference, but an authentic JBL speaker feels heavy, and you can sense the quality and sturdiness of the materials. A fake speaker, however, will usually be lighter because it has fewer internal components and is made with cheaper materials. Battery Light: Modern JBL speakers have a front LED line (except for the Flip 6, which has it at the back) that shows the battery level. Fake models don’t have this feature, or they may try to mimic it with a sticker. (Photo 6) Box: This tip can be especially useful for buyers who can't examine the speaker directly, as it may be sealed in its box. Logo and Name: On fake speaker boxes, the product photos might not include the JBL logos in places like the center of the speaker or on the radiators. Additionally, the model name on the box may have spelling errors, such as “XTREM3” or “XTREEM 3” instead of “XTREME 3” (Photo 1). Magnets and Quality: Authentic JBL boxes are notably rigid and thick, similar to the sturdy boxes that phones come in, and they have magnets to keep the box closed. I Hope this guide can help someone, and i’d like to mention too that JBL has an official Page to help with the same problem, here you can check it out: https://support.jbl.com/au/en/customer-service/buy-authentic.html. submitted by /u/2TPW2 to r/JBL [link] [comments]

Critique my budget basement home theater build (5.1.2)
Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice, critique, and general “what would you do differently” feedback on my basement home theater setup. This is very much a true budget / mixed-gear build, nothing high-end, but I’m trying to get the most out of what I have. Room: Basement, rectangular Roughly 24 ft x 12 ft Main listening position is the chaise lounge section of a sectional Speakers calibrated to that center seat (sweet spot is basically one person) Audio Setup (5.1.2): AVR: Sony STR-DH790 Front L/R: JBL E60 floor standers Center: Klipsch Premiere Designer RP-440D-SB Surrounds: Cambridge Sound Works cube speakers Atmos: Cambridge cubes mounted as height speakers Subwoofer: Yamaha 10" (older, basic model) Video Setup Projector: Yaberlink (Amazon) Screen: 92" Elite Screen TV: 55" Samsung mounted in recess behind screen. Yes, it’s a total hodgepodge 😅 but it’s what I’ve accumulated over time. Used mainly for movies, TV, and some casual gaming What I’m looking for: Speaker placement advice for a long/narrow room Whether my Atmos placement even makes sense in this space Biggest upgrade “bang for the buck” suggestions Anything obviously wrong that I’m missing I know none of this gear is special or audiophile-level, but I’m trying to learn and improve incrementally without blowing the budget. Appreciate any honest feedback, even if it’s “your sub should be the first thing to go.” Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Mysterious_Dig_950 to r/hometheater [link] [comments]

Designing my own speakers - Looking for DIY Speaker Kit Recommendations similar in size to JBL L100
Hi everyone :) For years I've been eyeing JBL L100, but I can't justify the price as I enjoy music but I would not call myself an audiophile. Buying so expensive speakers just for the looks doesn't feel right. But I'm an Industrial Designer by trade, so I have a bit of experience when it comes to welding, wood working, 3d printing and soldering. So I was wondering if I could design my own enclosure with similar vibes to the JBL L100. But I don't have any knowledge about audio - so I would love some recommendations for DIY kits that I could put into that L100 sized enclosure. Thank you so much! Please voice any concerns you might have regarding a project like that. submitted by /u/KOEsilvester to r/diyaudio [link] [comments]

Custom JBL Bluetooth Speaker: Oak Cabinet with Mahogany Miter Splines
Designed Around the JBL Charge Components. Although I purchased 3rd party speakers and passive radiators, I kept JBL’s Bluetooth/amplifier/power supply board and rechargeable battery. So it’s essentially just a JBL charger with a face-lift. submitted by /u/Ornery-Basil-3087 to r/Bluetooth_Speakers [link] [comments]

The “Just Expensive Enough” List: My Top Products That Punch Above Their Price (Need Your Recs Too)
I wanted to share some of the things I’ve bought over the years that aren’t cheap, but also aren’t outrageously luxury-tier. They sit in that sweet spot of “just expensive enough to be totally worth it” and I swear by them. Posting here because I know this sub is full of people who like good value but still want to buy things that genuinely upgrade their life. Also selfishly hoping you’ll recommend other products in the same lane that I might love. Here are my favorites: 1. Apple Ecosystem – MacBook, iPhone, AirPods Pro w/ noice cancellation. Everything just works together and it’s impossible to go back once you’re locked in. The AirPods Pro are a solid pick because they allow you to work anywhere, even in really noisy environments. 2. Clothes – Arcteryx Atom Jacket, Adidas Ultraboosts, Nike Yoga Shorts, Lululemon ABC pants, Darn Tough socks, Buck Naked underwear, Fear of God hoodie, Abercrombie linen shorts, Buck Mason Field Spec shirt. Rayban Aviators. I don’t buy tons of clothes, but these are staples I always reach for. 3. Travel – Monos luggage, Peak Design pouch, AirTags, Victorinox backpack, Barbour hanging Dopp kit, JBL Clip speaker. These have made traveling a lot less stressful and a lot more organized. 4. Hygiene – Sonicare toothbrush, Waterpik, Philips Oneblade, bidet. Cologne: Creed Aventus Absolu Deodorant: Old Spice Captain / Fiji Toothpaste: Colgate Optic White Lotion: EOS vanilla cashmere Skincare: Tretinoin - I usually buy a year’s supply when I’m in Mexico! 🇲🇽 Sunscreen: NIVEA Sun Super Water Gel SPF50 (Japanese sunscreen) 5. Cooking – Lodge cast iron, Zojorishi rice cooker, air fryer, instant-read thermometer, Victorinox chef’s knife. Basics, but ones that make me actually want to cook. 6. Entertainment – LG OLED, Sonos surround, Kindle, Vatic Pro pickleball racquet, and Apple Vision Pro. The Vision Pro is definitely a splurge, something I really really enjoy as a lover of 3D movies, VR, and absolutely hates flying. Nothing beats throwing on a headset and teleporting myself to a personal IMAX theatre on a plane. 7. Home – Owala water bottle, Floyd bed frame + mattress, Philips sunlight alarm clock, IKEA Hovet mirror, Bowflex weights, Onewheel foam roller, Herman Miller Aeron & Eames chairs. 8. Transportation – Tesla Model Y, Bianchi Via Nirone 7 road bike. 9. Luxury - Rolex Submariner. Keeps it's value super well & is great for all occasions. Next up on my radar: LASIK surgery. These aren’t impulse purchases. They’re things I’ve used daily (or close to it), and I feel like they’ve paid for themselves in quality of life. What are the “just expensive enough” products that have been worth it for you? I want to discover more of these gems. submitted by /u/DanburyHer to r/HENRYfinance [link] [comments]

Seeking Compact Desk Speakers (10–15 cm) with JBL L100 Style Aesthetic — Recommendations?
Hey everyone, I’m on the hunt for two compact speakers (around 10–15 cm max) to use on my desk, connected to a FiiO K3 DAC. Here’s what I’m hoping for: Small size, perfect for a work setup Aesthetic vibes inspired by the iconic JBL L100 — that retro Quadrex foam grille and vintage charm Independent power/on-off control — since I also use headphones with the DAC, I don’t want the speakers always on Great sound quality to match that style (active or passive is fine, as long as it works well with my setup) I’m looking for suggestions of speakers that balance that unique vintage design with great audio performance, but also give me the option to easily switch them off when using headphones. Any recommendations? Thanks! submitted by /u/Ropsa_ to r/BudgetAudiophile [link] [comments]

My feedback on Edifier MR3 as desktop speakers (and JBL 305)
Hi everyone, I've switched my desktop speakers from JBL 305 to Edifier MR3 and want to share my experience. First of all - why someone would do that? Yeah, this is obvious downgrade. I love how JBL 305 sounds, but I was always looking for replacement for a few practical reasons: Size and weight. They are quite large and heavy for my desk and my small room (2.7m x 4.5m). So I wanted a more compact solution. Overkill for my casual listening. I don't work with music in any way. I just wanted PC speakers that sounds good, but 6 years ago I havent found any. So eventually I decided to go with these monitors despite the size. I dont need loud sound. As I mentioned I have pretty small room and usually I listen them at low volume. Rear volume knob is set at 3.5 of 8 and volume in Windows at 40%. Isolation Requirements. If you place them on a desk it will cause vibrations and the sound quality will degrade a lot. So they require proper isolation pads or stands, which adds to the overall cost and setup size. Standby Hiss. Yes, this is known issue, but still a bit annoying. Phase inverter on a back. So it is recommended to have some space between their back and a wall, which is hard if you dont have a lot of space. Lack of connection options. They are designed to work with professional equipment so they have only XLR and TRS. So I had been looking for a more compact alternative for my PC setup for a while. After reading several reviews, I decided to give a try for Edifier MR3. I spent a whole day comparing them to my JBLs and here are my thoughts on MR3: Sound quality. Holy moly, they sound good. Sometimes I can't even tell the difference between them and JBL. However when turning volume higher the difference becomes more prominent. JBL has better details in high and MR3 bass starts to get muddy. But I guess this is expected considering the size difference. As for me I don't even need to go that loud. Again I am very impressed with what the MR3 can produce. Auto Standby. MR3 goes to power save mode automatically. Waking them up takes about a second, which can cause them to miss the very beginning of an audio track. Not a big deal, but it's something to be aware of. Connection options. They have more connection options, including good old RCA which easily fits with PC setup. So as PC speakers I'm pretty happy with MR3. As for JBL I think I will use them with my TV setup (or exchange them for Kali LP UNF). submitted by /u/fixer_m to r/BudgetAudiophile [link] [comments]

Bluetooth Speaker Showdown: JBL Xtreme 4 vs Harman Go + Play 3 vs Soundcore Motion X600 vs Sony ULT Field 5
Hey everyone, I recently tested and compared four fairly popular Bluetooth speakers side by side, all in their default tuning straight out of the box. This comparison was done with a focus on home use and accurate sound reproduction, not outdoor loudness or exaggerated bass. I evaluated them over several days in real-world conditions, using a wide range of music genres. My reference point was the Sennheiser HD599 with Harman Target EQ, so I had a good baseline for realism and tonality. Speakers tested: Sony ULT Field 5 JBL Xtreme 4 Harman Kardon Go + Play 3 Soundcore Motion X600 Here’s how they performed: Sony ULT Field 5 This was the most technically sound and well-balanced speaker of the group. It had a surprisingly neutral and natural tonal balance, with a soundstage that gave the illusion of a larger system playing. It sounded especially grown-up and refined with live recordings and acoustic tracks, delivering vocals and instruments in a very natural and lifelike way. Bass was the lowest in quantity among the four, but clearly the most accurate. Tight, articulate, and clean, with no boominess or artificial swelling. Mids and highs were clean and coherent, leaning slightly dark overall but not in a dull way. Treble was smooth and forgiving, yet still offered a lot of detail. Imaging and resolution were excellent. Even at low volumes, it retained clarity and micro-detail without any DSP artifacts. No hiss, no distortion, and nothing that masked detail. It handled complex mixes with ease and came surprisingly close to the Harman target in real-world listening. JBL Xtreme 4 Clearly tuned for energy and punch. This was the most "fun" sounding speaker out of the box, but not the most accurate. Bass was heavily elevated and wide, creating an engaging but boomy profile. Texture and definition were lacking — bass notes often blurred together. Mids were slightly recessed, but still present. Treble was surprisingly controlled and didn’t get harsh. Overall it sounded smaller than its size would suggest. While it could fill a room with volume, the imaging and fidelity were noticeably behind the Sony. Good for casual or outdoor use, but not for critical listening. Harman Kardon Go + Play 3 Impressive in some areas, but very polarizing. It had the most open and spacious soundstage of the group, but with major tonal issues. Bass was powerful and full, thanks to the downward-firing woofer, but very boomy and overwhelming indoors. Treble was sharply boosted, giving it a bright, fatiguing signature. Together with the strong bass, it had an aggressive V-shaped sound that impressed for short bursts but quickly became tiring. The soundstage was easily the widest and most holographic, but the tonal imbalance made it hard to enjoy for extended listening. Soundcore Motion X600 Technically the worst performer in the group, and probably one of the worst I’ve personally tested in this price range. There was audible hiss even when idle, pointing to poor amplifier design or low-grade components. At low volumes, the speaker introduced noticeable digital compression artifacts and distortion, resulting in lost micro-details and smeared transients. The BassUp feature massively bloated the low end, making it nearly unlistenable. The small drivers simply can’t reproduce that kind of bass, so boosting it artificially only made the lows muddy and undefined. Without BassUp, the sound became flat and lifeless. The spatial mode widened the stereo image slightly, but did nothing for depth or layering. Tonally, the mids sounded unnatural and colored, and the highs lacked any real sparkle or precision. The speaker overall felt like it was built around cheap DSP tricks rather than proper acoustic engineering. Definitely not deserving of the “Hi-Fi” label Soundcore puts on their marketing. Final Ranking (Sound Quality Focused): Sony ULT Field 5 – Most accurate, natural, and technically clean. Closest to reference. JBL Xtreme 4 – Fun and energetic, but lacks control and realism, sounded overprocessed. Harman Go + Play 3 – Huge soundstage, but overly bright and boomy. Soundcore Motion X600 – Technically broken, with noise, distortion, and poor fidelity. Conclusion: If you’re looking for genuine audio quality and realism for home use, the Sony ULT Field 5 stands out clearly. It’s not trying to impress with fake bass or spatial gimmicks — it just sounds right. It handles all genres well, doesn’t distort or smear detail, and comes closer to real hi-fi tuning than any of the others tested. Highly recommended if sound quality is your top priority. submitted by /u/Any_Explorer_3683 to r/Bluetooth_Speakers [link] [comments]

I 3D printed a speaker grill for my center channel to match my JBL L101s

Rate my DJ Setup - Technics 1210’s, JBL LSR305, Xone 92 mixer, Custom Designs SQ402 Mahagony Speaker Stands
Relocated to a new continent and had to build the setup up from scratch again. The speaker stands were a random €100 find on marketplace and they have made a surprising difference to sound. The JBL LSR 305 we’re used on marketplace for €120 but have a surprisingly full and bass’ier sound then my experiences with the 305 MII. The XONE 92 mixer really improves sound quality and allows mixing of records. Any recommendations, criticism or comments are very welcome. Would love to get your thoughts on speaker placement. A little limited on space. Speakers are at ear level for people on the couch behind. Location of turntables is at waist level, a little low but really manageable still. submitted by /u/MurkTwain to r/DJSetups [link] [comments]
