So I was really excited about the rescue dogs and happy they were being released so soon after they were "exclusives" for Goodwoof. However, my Scruffles arrived today and the quality is really bad. The fabric feels nasty, and the personality/character in the photos doesn't line up at all with the plush you receive. I used faux fur yarn to crochet this dragon and it took a whole week haha. It was extremly hard to see my stiches but I could not give up using this yarn it came out extremly soft and floppy. I used beads to fill parts of some of the dragon so it's also a bit weighted and weighs about 2.2kg. I had so much fun crocheting this! I spent a whole week crocheting this giant jellycat-inspired dragon, he came out to be over 100cm long! I am so happy with how soft and floppy it came out. I was at a mall and noticed a kiosk selling jellycats with opalite dragon sitting front and center. I quickly realized they were fakes but this imposter opalite was just too cute and soft. I have no idea if or when the official ones will be available in the US and can't afford a real one, so I decided to get him anyways. I fixed up his fur a bit and might eventually replace the stuffing and beans inside as it's a bit uneven, but I'm still pretty happy with him. What are your thoughts on Jellycats? Ik they were very popular a few years ago especially the in store experiences. Which made me first interested but unfortunately I don’t live nearly close enough to justify a “vacation” to experience it. Has anyone gone to the stores? Like their designs? I think they are quirky and fun especially some of the foods and animals. Idk if the price is worth it (although the quality seems to be there). With such a heavy heart, I’ve decided to leave Jellycat in 2025… Unfortunately, Purrks was the final nail in the coffin for my time collecting. I know it’s just some toy brand, but Jellycat used to be such a comfort of mine and this sub was my home, but unfortunately for my sake, I don’t want to be tempted or influenced to further support this company. I don’t want to be exposed to them online or any of my stockists’ posts anymore. I want to see them do better but until then, I must vote with my wallet and walk away from the company. My current Jellies still mean the world to me and I’d never part with them, they’re my favorite ever; especially Lucia, Aubrey, and Mocha (I’m sure some of you recognize them), but I think I’m content with all that I have now and see no reason to continue growing my collection. I could have just silently left this sub, but I wanted to make this post to show how grateful I am for my time here and all your kindness. I enjoyed looking at all the beautiful store selections, seeing how creative some of you are, and all the pictures and stories of everyone’s Jellycats.
